I stayed only one night here, but I greatly enjoyed my stay. The room was quite spacious and luxurious, and the bed was big and comfortable. The staff downstairs at reception were very friendly and helpful, especially Michelle. The breakfast was good as well. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

Pros: The Hotel room I stayed in was clean and modern and located conveniently in Prati, close to the metro station and bus stop. Staff were helpful and helped fix an aircon issue I had, and breakfast was quite good with a range of options. Amenities are good, you also get hotel slippers! Cons: Beware though that if you are staying on the bottom level, the rooms are right across from the kitchen and their restaurant. This means you can hear noise from the kitchen, reception and restaurant. Also, on one night I did have a scare as someone had accidentally opened our hotel door. I can only guess it was one of the staff members as you need a key to open the hotel rooms. That made me feel a bit on edge for the rest of my stay but I didn’t raise it with management at the time.
I stayed at the Apollo for 1 week, the location near the metro was perfect. The area was a nice mix of quiet but with business around to get coffee/supplies and food. The in-house cafe had a good breakfast to start the day with and their extended day and night menu was good. The rooms were spacious, clean and the shower was good. Bed was comfortable and had a choice of pillows. Excellent stay
Avoid Apollo Boutique Hotel in Rome. They canceled my stay last minute, then broke a signed refund agreement. I'm writing this so other travelers don't get caught the way I did. Here's exactly what happened. **The last-minute "incident"** I booked Apollo Boutique Hotel a month in advance for a 3-night stay in Rome from May 8th to May 11th — nearly €1,000 total. On the day of check-in, around 1pm (just hours before arrival), they messaged me on WhatsApp claiming a "plumbing issue" made my room uninhabitable. Their "solution": - They moved me to a different property of their choosing. - They offered to refund €45 for the breakfasts I'd no longer get. - They threw in a free dinner at their restaurant. I went to check out the replacement. It wasn't another hotel — it was a guesthouse with a 3.1 Google rating, shabby, with an active construction site directly across the street. I did not sleep that night. I was paying boutique-hotel prices for a guesthouse stay, and their idea of compensation was a €45 breakfast refund and a free dinner. **The negotiation** I went back to Apollo and asked for a refund of 2 out of 3 nights — not a full refund, because they had technically arranged something. I'll spare you the full play-by-play, but two things stood out: - The manager dismissed my concerns throughout the conversation. - His position was that I should be grateful, because "finding last-minute accommodation in Rome's high season isn't easy." Their failure was reframed as a favor to me. Eventually they agreed to refund €500 — half my total booking. I accepted to end the conversation, already exhausted from dealing with them. **The broken agreement** Here's where it gets worse. They only handed me €300 in cash that day. When I asked why, the manager said the remaining €200 was "for the third night, and we're still two days away from that." It made no sense, but I just wanted to leave. Before walking out, I made them sign a written agreement for the remaining €200. They never paid it. I've contacted them. They've gone silent. It's been two weeks and the €200 has never arrived. ***Summary*** - Last-minute cancellation — bumped to a 3.1-rated guesthouse with token compensation. - Hostile handling — a reasonable refund request was treated as an imposition. - Broken agreement — they signed a written refund commitment and never honored it. I've traveled to over 20 countries. This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had — not because of the plumbing, not because of the downgrade, but because of how they handled it when asked to make it right. To Apollo Boutique Hotel: I came to your front desk in good faith. I left with a signed paper and a handshake. Two weeks later, the €200 is unpaid and my messages are ignored. Honor your agreement. To other travelers: a trip is something you save for, plan for, and only get to take once. Don't spend yours on a hotel that sees you as someone to manage and forget. Rome has hundreds of better options.
This is a beautifully renovated property with good housekeeping, but unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The hotel appears to be run mostly by teenagers who - other than being mostly friendly - lack the training to handle guests. A few spoke good English, but some had very limited skills, making even a basic task like ordering breakfast a major challenge. The breakfast was mediocre at best, with a very poor selection and low quality. The young staff clearly couldn't handle the morning rush. The rooms are loud, so bring earplugs. Also, the WiFi was terribly slow (3 Mbps). When I brought this to the staff's attention, they promised to fix it but never did. While the renovation looks stunning, it is highly impractical. There is no closet and there’s space for only one small carry-on bag. In the bathroom there was no conditioner, and almost no surface room for your own personal items. Note: I am rating this hotel based on its self-identification as a 4-star boutique hotel. If this were a mid-priced 3-star hotel, I would easily give it 5 stars (WiFi aside)
