Horseback Riding In Sayulita Through Jungle Trails To The Beach

Jorge and Alexis were amazing horseback guides! We had such an incredible and grounding experience, connecting with the horses, riding through the jungle to get to an isolated beach. Jorge was very friendly and knowledgeable and Alexis took the best pictures! The experience restored our first impression of Sayulita. Jorge paired us with the perfect horses; Speedy was calm and patient with me and Lobo was a great combination of stubborn and docile for my husband. :) We highly recommend the tour but even moreso Jorge and Alexis

Excellent experience and a great guide. There was a little confusion of where we got picked up, but it was all worked out and wewere very happy in the end. I would really recommend this ranch for horseback riding.

Our family of 7 adults had the best time on this adventure! Everything from the ride to the ranch in the back of the truck then back to Sayulita was a highlight of our trip. We rode through the jungle to the beach then back & had a tequila lesson w samples of some of the best. I would highly recommend this experience!!

We had to reschedule due to rain and that whole experience was so easy, so I was grateful for that. We had such a good time and I can’t even count how many times I said “this is so beautiful!” Nico took great photos (so maybe have your hair brushed and wear some mascara, cuz one of us 🙋‍♀️ was very unhappy with how she looked 🤣) many of the people spoke English on site including the photographer who came with us. Our butts are sore but our hearts are full!

This was the most fun horseback ride ever! Sunset at the beach 100% Recommend! Sunset was amazing , Jose our tour guy was so much fun and Photograph was exceptional. Wish I could add a photo to this review 😘 btw Horses were nice and well feed! !

5/5 stars — Highly recommend this horseback riding tour in Sayulita! Riding through the jungle and along the beach was absolutely beautiful, with incredible scenery the whole way. The guides were fantastic—friendly, professional, and made the experience fun and comfortable from start to finish. The horses were well cared for, and the mix of jungle trails and ocean views made this a highlight of our trip. If you’re visiting Sayulita and looking for a memorable adventure, this is worth doing.

We went riding for about an hour. I was the only one other than a guide. The guide spoke good English and explained things along the way. The horses looked well cared for.

Wonderful people at the ranch, safe healthy horses and lovely to ride on a private beach through the jungle. It was very hot so bring a hat and sunscreen! Best part was the use of the pool to cool down after our ride.

Experienced riders only. They do not have helmets. You ride along the road/highway for a good portion before entering the jungle. No information was taken about riders before hand (height weight or ability to ride) Correct horses were not placed with experienced vs non experienced riders. My 11 year old with no helmet was placed on a horse not from this particular ranch. All the other horses did not like her horse so they would bite or be aggressive. My 11 year old horse ended up jumping out of line into the street into on coming traffic! She inevitably had to change horses mid ride in the jungle. She was kicked and has a twisted ankle. The horses saddles were all loose. Either not placed properly or too old stretched. Very dangerous for riders as they would slide side to side. The sunset ride ends riding thru the jungle in the DARK then crossing a major road in the DARK and riding along the road in the DARK. The ranch has no WiFi no service. You cannot get an uber or call a taxi. We got a ride home with one of the horse handlers wives? after standing around for 30+ minutes after the ride in the dark with our daughter. Unsafe in so many. Experienced riders only. Be warned

Jose was a fun and fantastic guide for our ride through the jungle to the beach. He gave great and clear instructions on how to guide the horse. I’ve been horseback riding before (not my favorite activity) and this is by far the best instruction I’ve had. My daughter (16) loves riding and had an amazing time. They did a great job selecting the appropriate horse for each person. It was a small group and fantastic. The photographer took the most incredible photos. Very memorable experience. Highly recommend.

My two daughters (12, 18) and I booked the sunset ride, and we were not disappointed. We had a small group of 10 riders, including us and our two gracious guides, Jorge y Jose. It was a little scary riding through the forest to the beach! There were lots of skinny trails and tight squeezes, and some loud cars and motorbikes passing by when we were on the roads, but those bomb-proof horses couldn’t care less. They were sure-footed and followed the path easily. The beach was beautiful and you could tell the horses wanted to tear it up. We all waited at one end of the beach while one guide would take one rider to the other end and help them gallop back to the group. My youngest (12 yrs old) galloped for her first time like a champ. It was a thrilling experience! The ride back was similar but a little less technical and again the horses just trotted along and got us home safely. Jorge and Jose were both excellent guides, kind and chatty, in very good English. The photos were beautiful- they work that golden hour 💅 The tequila tasting was very informative, but by that point we were too tired for tequila! Maybe next time if we do a day time ride.

We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure to Sayulita to ride through the jungle area toward a small local black beach on the Pacific side. Our guides/vaqueros were careful to ensure everyone's safety whether an experienced rider or not. The only thing that would be better is if saddles/stirrups were fitted or adjusted for height to make the ride more comfortable. Otherwise - our time was well spend seeing areas we would not have experienced otherwise. Our "paparazzi", photographer, was EXCELLENT at his job and I think worked harder than anyone . . other than the horses!!!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time. The guides were very kind and patient and made everyone feel safe at all times. Arriving at the beach through the jungle was breathtaking. This experience is a core memory we won't forget from this special trip. It was appreciated that they provided transportation to and from our accommodations.

Absolutely amazing experience. From the wonderful staff (Antonio, Jorge, Manuel & the photography team), to the beautiful horses, amazing beach & thrilling ride…the best tour I’ve ever gone on in any of my vacations!

Antonio and team were great hosts, and we loved riding through both the jungle trails, and on the beach at sunset. They had a good photo team leap-frogging to capture moments. So if you’re not camera shy, you come out with some great photos! They even gave us an opportunity to gallop on the beach which I hadn’t done in 30 years, but it came back naturally. For less experienced riders, they gave a side-by-side assist to keep the horses and the guests calm and safe galloping. That is of course optional, but my girlfriend did it and we have a great shot of her riding faster on the beach wind blowing in her hair. Thanks y’all!

This was one of the best experiences I have ever done. The horses were beautiful and very well taken care of. I felt very safe. And then the ranchers/Cowboys were top-notch.

Wow. Top 5 experiences in my life. Made my entire Mexico trip. Every cent I spent on coming to Mexico was worth it for this. Jorge was awesome, and the photographer captured the best photos I’ve ever seen of myself. My friends and family were amazed and I made my first Instagram post. Highly recommend.

Great guides! Once you get beyond the beautiful jungle, you’ll find your way to the prettiest private-like beach where the waves come up and they’ll let you gallop. Photographer got great shots too!

This was out of my comfort zone being alone but it was really good. Right from getting there, the front counter lady was helpful and detailed. Gave a key for the locker, told us how long till the ride started. Then the men came and did a run down of how to ride and what to do. We got on horses and started into the jungle. Being new, it was a little intimidating initially but all the horses were good. There is no need to feel uncertain or unsupported. The jungle led to the beach and it was beautiful. Some riders chose to run with the horse and guide for fun. Upon returning, we were offered tequila tasting and the guides were very attentive as to how we were getting home.

We often go for a trail ride when on vacation and this one was the absolute best! Giovanni and Junior were excellent guides and even let each of us have a turn to gallop on the beach, which was an extra special treat. Their horses were very well trained and never needed correction. I highly recommend this tour!

The horses were great - good for beginners and good if you have a lot of experience - they will match you with the right type of horse. At the beach he leads people who aren't confident and has them canter up and back and those that know how to ride can gallop. Pretty great experience!

This experience was even better than expected. My husband and I went with our two children 10 and 13. we all loved it and thought this was the highlight of our trip. Riding through the jungle and on the beach led to beautiful breathtaking views, which were also so much fun. The horses were so well behaved, and we felt like we were on an incredible adventure.

100% recommend this touring company! We did the sunset horseback riding tour and had such a wonderful experience. The tour guides were so friendly and knowledgeable and the ride was spectacular through the jungle to the beach. The ranch is in a beautiful location and you could spend time just hanging out enjoying the surroundings. We will definitely use this group again.

Great ride through some pretty technical mountain trails through dense canopy. We climbed and decended multiple times on the barely there trail, our healthy and eager horses on 4 wheel drive all the way. Eventually the forest opens to a beautiful, desoltate beach right at sunset. We rode down the coast and then rested a bit for photos and spirited galloping for anyone who wanted. Our guides Gio and Mega were great throughout, making sure all was well and being there for anyone who needed advice or a nudge, but otherwise let you be on your own so you could soak it all in. We eventually returned in near darkness, which was amazing. These horses must have night vision. Overall a great experience with excellent guides who were there only as needed. A top notch organization in an excellent location. Highly Recommended.

This was by far the highlight of our trip to Puerto Vallarta. The horses are beautiful and well-kept and super safe. Danny, our guide, was excellent. My wife is an experienced rider and I was a beginner. I felt super safe the entire time and my wife had a lot of fun with her beautiful horse. Really, the trail through the jungle and onto the beach is stunning. Highly recommend.

The ride was beautiful and manageable. The guides were humorous and friendly and my 10yo daughter loved it, as did I. The hour and a half was perfect.

This was beyond the highlight of our trip to Sayulita and a really wonderful experience. The ranch is called Mi Chula and you can see it just off the main road heading into Sayulita (from the south). But I recommend the rendez-vous at the beach club in Sayulita because you'll see a great view of the beach. They will then take you in an open-top safari like truck for a 5 min ride through town and to the ranch. Just FYI, they will contact you 24 hours before your reservation with full details, Google map coordinates and very responsive via WhatsApp and through the TripAdvisor messaging app (I was worried at first because I tried calling and no one had picked up the phone). The ranch itself is so beautiful and inviting with very clean bathrooms and check-in area. The stables are very well kept and horses are very well taken care of (they are rotated regularly and the horses off duty are kept at another stable across the street). Antonio was our guide, navigator, trainer extraordinaire. He was so sweet and patient and very accommodating with new and inexperienced riders. We took the 1.5 hour morning tour which I felt was perfect before it got too hot in the afternoon and felt long enough on horseback! The trail is really beautiful - the first 10 mins you are on the side of the road leading up to the entrance into the jungle and then it's about 20 mins through a trail in the jungle which is incredibly peaceful and felt very safe. You can start hearing the waves from the beach as you get closer and then the trail opens up suddenly to a deserted shoreline which is incredibly beautiful! They have a photographer who meets up with the group at the beach and takes pictures, which are then offered to you for a package price (very very reasonable!!) which I highly recommend buying - they can airdrop it to you immediately to your phone and all the shots are great and very worth it. Highly recommend booking this if you're in the area!

It was my first time riding a horse, but the staff made me feel completely safe and comfortable throughout the experience. The horses were incredibly friendly, and the guide was super kind and attentive, which made the whole ride even more enjoyable. I had such a fun time riding through the lush jungle and along the stunning black sand beach—such a unique and unforgettable experience. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone, whether it’s your first time or not!

This was incredible! We came to Sayulita off-season for our 10-year wedding anniversary. Best time to go! We had a. private tour! Glad we picked the sunset tour. Our guide was fantastic, told us all sorts of cool stuff as we rode through the jungle on our trusty steeds, and then boom! You arrive at the most beautiful private beach at golden hour for sunset and the best pictures. It was so fun riding through the surf before heading back to the ranch for tequila tasting! This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I can't recommend it highly enough!

We had an excellent experience today on our horseback ride through the jungle and on the beach. Our guide, Jovani, was amazing. We had riders of all ages and experience levels- including a toddler who rode along with mom. The crew was very welcoming and accommodating, and we really enjoyed our excursion! Would highly recommend to anyone!

The sunset experience was absolutely AMAZING, beyond our expectations! Juan is an incredible guide, the horses seemed happy and healthy, and the entire team was just incredible. I cannot recommend enough!

This experience was a lot of fun. At first we thought it was going to be “horse walking”, then we arrived at the beach and galloped. Saw many crabs in the jungle. Be prepared for your pictures to be taken. The tequila tasting was incredible. Highly recommend the tour.

This is THE BEST. For sure book the sunset tour. I can’t believe people would come to Sayulita and not do this tour. It’s literally through the jungle and onto the beach. We saw so many fireflies on our way pack. The guides are so nice and I felt so safe with my family. Honestly the best experience we had on our trip. A must!

Juan was amazing!! Super fun energy, very knowledgeable about horses and made me feel super confident riding alone on one. It ended up just being me on this tour but he made it the best experience!!! I rode with cappuccino and I fell in love with the horse, they are all so well behaved and very calm. Lil tip- if it’s sunset bring a shall to wrap up against mosquitoes

I recently went on a sunset horseback riding tour, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! As a first-time rider, I was a little nervous at first, but the guide was so kind and personable — they immediately put me at ease. They matched me with Lobo, the perfect horse for a beginner. Lobo felt like he was on cruise control — he kept the perfect pace and calmly followed Coconut, the guide’s horse, which made the whole ride feel smooth and comfortable. One of the highlights was how thoughtful the guide was about capturing the moment. They took fantastic photos throughout the ride, making it feel like my own personal photoshoot. I received some absolutely amazing pictures that I’ll treasure forever, especially with the stunning sunset as our backdrop. If you’re considering this tour — don’t hesitate! Danny was our guide and he was great. The Beach he took us to was incredible. They did a lot to make sure we got good photos. Super memorable experience. Highly recommend!
