Cachasol Tequila Tasting & Raicilla Distillery Tour

My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful experience at Cachasol Distillery. It was hands down one of my favourite parts of my trip to Sayulita. The meal at the end of the experience is amazing and the cake is INCREDIBLE. Thank you for this lovely experience. Tip: Book your Uber from Sayulita on time!!! The wait times could be long, and you don’t want to be late (like me).

Our team was in Sayulita for our annual retreat and I booked a private tour at the Cachasol Distillery. Ended up being an amazing evening, our guide Jose Luis was a character and made the event extra fun! We got to cook our own tortillas and had a great meal with lots of tequilla tasting. The kitchen easily accommodated our dietary restrictions! Highly recommend! Thank you to the entire team!

Great tasting and dinner today with my wife. The location is beautiful and Carlos the guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about tequila & raicilla. We had just 6 others on our tour which made it feel very intimate. Starting off with a few welcome Margaritas is also a nice touch and then you get to walk the grounds and see the plants and hear about the production process and understand the difference between tequila and raicilla and mezcal. Then, a fun communal dinner with a few tastings and pairings. Food was very good. Highly recommend.

We can to Punta de Mita for our 20th anniversary. I'm so glad we happened to read a blog post about San Pancho that mentioned Cachasol. We booked this tour the day before and it was a highlight of our trip. I appreciate that we started our tour with a margarita since it was a hot and humid day. The tour was informative and interesting, and we advanced to the tasting and food pairing. It's hard to say which was better, the tequila and raicilla or the delicious home style dishes. Everything tasted fresh: cactus salad, ceviche, giant bowl of guacamole, rice, beans, quesadillas. We were quickly stuffed and didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. We felt like we were visiting someone's home. Great hospitality. Just watch out for the ants - they're vicious!

Wonderful experience! The location was a bit hard to find so make sure you have map access prior to your drive there. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour a very enjoyable experience. The location of the distillery was beautiful. Lots of lush green backgrounds! The food at the end was great! There is a nice seating area and the tortillas are handmade in front of you. 10/10 recommend!

The four of us had a great evening at Cachasol Tequila. We were greeted upon arrival and given cocktails to enjoy as we took the short walk up to the outdoor tasting area and kitchen. As we walked we were given lots of information on the cultivation of the different kinds of Agave cactus and the different alcohol that is made from each one. The cooks provided a delicious all you could eat authentic Mexican meal as we enjoyed sampling the different Tequilas and Raicilla that are produced here. Our host was very knowledgeable and passionate about Cachasol's products. I would suggest getting a ride there and back as you will consume a generous amount of Tequila and Raicilla. 😃

My friends and I enjoyed our time at Cachasol in Punta Mita. The ambiance of the farmhouse distillery is beautiful, rustic and verdant. The tasting was great—the ceviche pairs so well with the tequila! James "Monty" Montero who founded and owns the place is such a nice guy! Plus, the locals who work there are super friendly. I LOVED the skinny-ish margarita—so delicious! I enjoyed the Cachasol tequila so much that I ordered a bottle to be shipped back to the U.S. Check out this spot! Show up with an empty stomach and prepare to be tipsy when you leave! Cheers!

I really enjoyed our visit to Cachasol. The grounds were beautiful, and the tour explaining the historical process of how Raicilla is made was fascinating. The tequila tasting was arranged in a way that enhanced the flavors beautifully. To top it all off, the delicious food prepared in an outdoor kitchen was the icing on the cake. I even bought a bottle of Raicilla to take home and enjoy!

Overall great experience. A bit hard to find but well worth the effort. Our guide was fantastic. The food was delicious. Our entire group had a blast. We can’t wait to enjoy the bottles we brought home!

This experience was so fun! Amazing to see how agave is cultivated and how raicilla is made. The team there was awesome and did their best to make us comfortable in the heat (heat wave in PVR).

My husband, adult son, and I really enjoyed this tour. It was informative and interesting, and the meal was fantastic! Wet learned all about the agave plant and how tequila, mezcal, and raicilla are different!

This farm/distillery is a must if you are anywhere near the PV area. From the start, it is a magical experience on a serene agave farm with a charming outdoor bar and welcome cocktails. Our guide gave a wonderful and informational tour of the land and processes for each type of liquor they produce. The farm is gorgeous, with a small pond and various plants. Then the lunch was just phenomenal, prepared in the moment on the comal. Overall just a lovely experience. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Absolutely incredible experience in Sayulita! This farm distillery tour was so much more than what it sounds like. We learned so much about the traditional process of raicilla and tequila, do a super informative tasting, got to walk around the beautiful farm, and indulge in delicious cocktails. And that's not all- we were all sooo pleasantly surprised with the full dinner at the end of the tour. Delicious guacamole, soup, and insanely good, fresh prepared quesadillas and sopes made from scratch right in front of your eyes in the wood fire kitchen! While being a farm- the whole experience was still extremely elevated. I went with a retreat group of women, and I can imagine it would be perfect for bachelorette parties, wedding parties, date nights, and just overall anyone interested in a high-end experience in Sayulita.

Cachasol was one of the standout experiences of my trip to Sayulita. I happened to be the only guest that evening, so I ended up with a very personalized tour, which made it feel really special and memorable. I loved learning about how tequila is made from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do, which really added to the experience. The evening also included a farm-to-table traditional Mexican meal, which was amazing. It really rounded out the experience and made it feel like a meal with friends and not just a tour. If you’re in the area and looking for something a little different, I would absolutely recommend. It would be great for families, couples, groups or anyone looking for a fun evening. Jose and the team did an incredible job with our Farm Tour, tequila agave cooking lesson and tasting. The food, culture, vibe was just magical. This was my 2nd time visiting and they did not disappoint. We thank all of you and James for always stepping up and making it a special experience.

If you are going to Sayulita or Punta Mita, Cachasol is a must visit - an experience packed tour that blends education, incredible hospitality, impeccable food and outstanding cocktails. The two blanco tequilas are incredibly good - definitely check out the Epic Strength Blanco which is incredibly smooth. The Raicialla is fantastic and when you see how it is made on site, you will be an instant convert. Monty is an excellent host and tour guide and the food (that comes with the tour along with tequila/Raicialla tasting and cocktails) is also incredible..

This was the absolute best experience. We ended up having a private tour because no one else signed up for the same day and it turned out perfectly. The food was exceptional and we came home with so much tequila and raicilla! We can’t wait to go back the next time we are in the area!!

Had a wonderful experience learning about Cachasol’s handmade process of making Raicilla. The hospitality was top notch and the food & beverages were outstanding! This was one of the highlights of my trip to Puerto Vallarta.

What an exceptional experience. Today was my 5th or 6th time at Cachasol, with a new group of visiting guests. The facility is so well done and well presented. A truly Magical experience that I would highly recommend. The location is perfect in the evening sun with a lovely cool breeze that blows through the valley straight from the sea. The team went above and beyond to make all of our party feel welcomed and comfortable. Beautifully crafted welcome drinks, a fascinating and interactive tour by the owner himself and a tasty food and tequila pairing meal to round it all off. Truly my favourite experience I’ve had in Mexico (and I’ve been the last 5 years). Beautiful venue, friendly staff and tour guide, and delicious drinks AND dinner! I couldn’t recommend this enough!!

This tour is a magical experience from beginning to end. From sitting under this big beautiful tree enjoying a welcoming cool breeze ( even on the hottest of days!) sipping on the smoothest margarita I have ever had. To learning about this 400 year old process of making tequila is just so cool. Loved the drinks. Loved the food. Loved the incredible authentic ambience but most of all, I especially loved the host’s casual and informative presentation. Love, love, loved it all. It is now high up on my “must do” list at my Arbnb in San Pancho. Thank you Cachasol!

We absolutely LOVED our Cachasol experience. The grounds are beautiful, staff are amazing, drinks and food delicious. Even my 9 year old daughter loved it and thought it was a memorable experience. I personally appreciated the sustainable aspect and the farm to table meal.

The place is soooo beautiful, and great for both adults and kids! Honestly one of my fave distillery tours! The tour was really engaging and educational, and the tequila was A++. Also they really undersell how generous the food is! We were not expecting a full food pairing and the quality was TOP NOTCH! If you decide to uber there from Sayulita, call it well ahead of time or schedule your pick up! It took about 15-20 min to call an uber but we had no issues :)

Without a doubt the highlight of our trip. Incredibly informative tour, followed by the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. 10/10.

Really fun experience and very educational. Monty was a great host, very engaging and knowledgeable. The entire site has a really cool vibe, a must visit if in Sayulita. Food was delicious and a variety of drinks to try - there is something for everyone.

Such a beautiful space! We loved the cocktails, and it was fascinating to learn about the tequila and raicilla-making process. The evening included a tequila tasting paired with thoughtfully selected food, and we also learned how to properly taste and recognize high-quality spirits. Our visit to Cachasol was a highlight of our entire week in Mexico. We were welcomed & treated like family from the moment we arrived. Greeted with delicious cocktails, introductions, and a little history before the tour began. Monty & his colleagues are all just so wonderful. We got meet the distiller, taste roasted agave, and learn about tequila & raicilla. From there, we had spirits tastings paired with delicious bites then a full-blown, home-cooked meal with another, amazing cocktail of our choosing. I work in the beverage industry and have easily done over 100s of distillery, brewery, winery, etc. tours, but this takes the cake!

A truly great experience. My whole group agreed we were glad that we got a little bit further out for this tour. The tour guide, Jose Luis, was welcoming and informative. The process he outlined was really interesting. The tasting was well-guided and paired with excellent cactus salad and ceviche. That and a dinner after were all made right there on the farm. 10/10 recommend.

Extremely informative and interesting, our guide clearly knew her stuff and explained everything along the way in a manner that was easy to follow, very engaging and quite enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone! The food was great and I loved the tasting (my partner doesn't really drink tequila and still loved the entire experience).

An experienced you should not miss. Staff was friendly, educated about their product, fun and went out of their way to please. It was my birthday and they made a special dessert and sang to me. A must see when you are in the area.

We found Cachasol last while visiting sayulita and it is such a hidden gem. Our guide Ceci was executional and very down to earth. She was knowledgeable about their entire Tequila process and the making of their Raicilla. At the end of the tour, we were given an amazing tasting and lunch!! Overall great experience and we can’t wait to see everyone again!!

This is a super cool spot to spend the afternoon with the fam or even brunch on Sundays. As a resident of Sayulita, we go to Cachasol frequently and it never disappoints. Best part is my 11 year old twins also love it because of the playground and the hammocks etc... The owner James, knows what he is doing and has created a very special experience for the whole family. To top it all off, the tequila is incredible, and has already won several awards. Do not miss this special experience if you are on vacation or a local!

We had a blast sipping tequila and making friends at Cachasol. It was a highlight of our week in Sayulita. Monty did an incredible job explaining the tequila and raicilla making process, his passion is real and we learned a ton! Bottomless drinks and absolutely incredible homemade dinner (holy guac and hand made tortillas!). We left feeling warm, fuzzy and full of delicious food. We will be recommending this to all our friends visiting the area. 10/10

What a great day we had exploring and sipping! Monty was a great educator and we all learned a lot about the process of tequila making along the way. The food was a wonderful surprise at the end. We had ages 14-77 on the tour and all had a blast.

What a treat, and such a great addition to Sayulita. Everyone should make an effort to come for a visit when in Sayulita. We did the racilla tour, which includes a HUGE meal at the end. However, you can also just come for lunch or dinner. You don’t need a reservation, but it’s best to make one by sending them an email. They were super responsive. It’s so beautiful and everyone was so warm and welcoming. We started our tour at the bar under the tree. We were offered fresh cucumber or hibiscus juice, and then proceeded to walk the grounds with Jose Luis. Christian and Mario took great care of us as well. We ended our tour with a home cooked meal to order as well as guacamole, ceviche, nopales salad, a warm vegetable soup, and a warm corn salad. We will be coming back frequently.
