El Refugio De Sayulita

I stayed for 18 nights in the back Tree House at El Refugio in February 2026, and it was exactly what I needed. Marcelo provided a wonderful welcoming place to stay, as well as a daily routine that focused on our overall wellness and staying connected to nature and ourselves. I have not run since 2017, and I left loving running again after my stay. El Refugio was the perfect place for me to come and learn about the simple things in life and how to enjoy every minute. From the beautiful rooms, to congregating in the kitchen with fellow guests, and the cats who welcome you like their family, El Refugio has everything you need to work and grow during your stay in Sayulita, no matter what you are there for. I loved walking home down the dirt road knowing that my treehouse oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the busy main Sayulita life awaited me. It was everything I needed, and then some. Thank you Marcelo, I will carry El Refugio, the people I met while I was there and the memories we created together, and what I have learned during my stay in my heart forever more. I have done your morning meditation on all but two mornings since I've been home. Thanks for giving me a peacefully beautiful way to wake up and greet each day. I will be back again soon, as I have found my new home away from home when I come to Sayulita! Oh, and you'd be foolish not to try Tupac Tacos from the outside kitchen. Every day that I possibly could I had a blue corn quesadilla for dinner. Ainer was incredibly courteous to my (unfortunate) pepper allergy while I ate there, and I have wished on many occasions since I've been home for an Ainer Quesadilla! Megan Timmins

I had a really lovely stay at El Refugio de Sayulita with my boyfriend. The property is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful greenery, which makes it feel like a little escape from the busy parts of town. It’s quiet, relaxing, and a great place to unwind. The rooms are comfortable and charming, and you can tell a lot of care has gone into the details. I especially loved the pool area and the overall atmosphere, it feels very calm and welcoming. It’s also close enough to the beach and town to easily go out and explore Sayulita, but far enough away that you can really relax when you come back. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we will definitely come back.

Highly recommend 🤍 I'm staying a month at El Refugio and it was such a beautiful experience. The sense of community and the energy here are truly special. If you’re looking for like-minded people to grow, elevate, and maintain a healthy routine, this is the place. With meditation, sauna sessions, trainings, and daily rituals, nature, it’s easy to stay grounded and inspired. Wifi works well. The rooms are beautiful, private bathroom, 2 big kitchen in/outside, and the location is perfect, close to the city yet peaceful. I felt so much love here!

El Refugio is a beautiful lush place. It's super green and there is plenty of room. It really is a little oasis and I could spend there the whole day without needing to go out. There is a morning practice, with sauna and pool. You'll explore the area around or just stay in one of the many places to chill and work. Marcello is a lovely host and really has put a lot of love in the place. He is super welcoming and knowledgeable. He is more than happy to share local tips, practices and his space. I would recommend 5/5!
