Amazing place to stay, comfortable, spacious with a great kitchen. In the apartments, full width sliding doors open the whole room onto a big balcony, gorgeous lush views and lots of sunshine. The location is great, a few mins walk to the beach or the lively main square, yet Casa Makawe feels like an oasis away from it all. The highlight is the rooftop infinity pool of course!

We stayed at Casa Makawe at the end of August 2025 and we had a WONDERFUL time!! It was supposed to be the rainy season but it only rained 2 evenings we were there and honestly the storms were so great to watch from the roof top/balcony of our room. The hosts are super nice and easy to contact for any questions or recommendations for things around town. The restaurant downstairs was super cute too and made it easy to grab a quick bite even if we just wanted to stay in. Also, the location of this hotel was great in our opinion because it's just a few blocks from the beach and the downtown center so you don't have to walk too far to get to anything but it also wasn't super loud or noisy at night either so we slept like babies! The room was clean and the A/C worked great. The only cons would maybe be that the water never got very hot (which doesn't matter too much because it's so hot outside!), the a/c shut's off during the night and doesn't auto turn back on, the kitchen doesn't have a ton of cutlery/extras but it's got the basics for us to get the job done cooking breakfast and reheating leftovers! Since it was the off season we basically had the place to ourselves and every time I went to the roof top pool I felt like I had the best private rooftop view/place to be in all of Sayulita! Getting to work remotely pool side was honestly the best!! All in all, Casa Makawe was AMAZING and we would recommend this place to anyone who is coming to Sayulita! Gracias!!!
3.5 Great value and communication. The apartment is spacious and quiet at night, making it ideal for long stays, especially if you plan to use the kitchen and pool. Pros: • Good communication with host • Well-equipped kitchen • Quiet at night • Great for extended stays • Street parking available Cons: • Elevator may malfunction (4 floors) • AC has a 2-hour shutdown timer at night and can get warm • Towels had an odd smell • Occasional ants in the kitchen . Only 2 worn pillows, recomend 4 Despite the small quirks, the overall experience was positive. Paid 1700 night
I am obsessed with this hotel! The rooms are spacious and beautiful and I loved the location being so close to everything but still quiet at night. Juan was the best host and always communicated quickly. The rooftop pool is amazing and we loved having breakfast delivered up there. 100% recommend and we will stay again every time we are in Sayulita.
Casa Makawe is a home away from home. 10/5 STARS ⭐️! After arriving later than expected, at night tired hungry and dehydrated we were greeted with fresh sparkling water warm welcomes, tequila shots and cold beer. The staff were so friendly and super kind. We love this spot as it is central to everything but a bit off the main commotion of the town. It was quiet while sleeping and we felt safe and happy in our luxurious queen standard room. I wish we took more pictures but honestly we didn’t feel we needed a larger room as we only used it for sleeping and getting our belongings. The king standards are great as well and include a bit more space but if you are only 2 and spend most time outside you will love the queen rooms. Everything was spotless and we even had a deck! We loved the hammock in the room as well as the pool on the roof. We never used the elevator but it is there if you want a break from stairs. Thank you so much Casa Makawe! We had a great time! Looking forward to coming again and using the new bar they are making! Much love!! N+N
