Good experience: the guide was really nice and she spoke english and spanish, the group size was ok, not too many persons.

Itinerary
After the pick-up we will start the tour from Copacabana Beach, one of the most famous beach in the world.
The Tijuca Forest (Portuguese: Floresta da Tijuca) is a tropical rainforest in the city of Rio de Janeiro covering an area of roughly 32 km² (12.4 mi²). The tour will reach Tijuca Forest with a stop at Paineiras to board the official vehicles of the National Park Authority to be able to reach the top of the Corcovado Hill where The Christ The Redeemer Statue is located.
From the top of Corcovado Hill you will be able to admire The Christ of the Redeemer statue, which has 38m in height and was made of reinforced concrete clad in a mosaic of thousands of triangular soapstone tiles, and also will have a chance to see some of the most beautiful views of the city.
Only in case of poor visibility on the summit of the Corcovado, we will make an alternative stop at Mirante Dona Marta which offers one of the most incredible views of the city, guaranteeing the title of one of the most visited tourist attractions in Rio de Janeiro. From there, you can see the Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Cristo Redentor, the Maracanã, the Guanabara Bay and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
We will travel to the top in two steps by cable car. The first will take you to Urca Hill, at the height of 220 meters above sea level where you already will have great views from Baia de Guanabara. From there, after enjoying the views for a bit, will take the second cable car all the way to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, 396 meters above sea level. From up there, you will have a chance to see the most breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro and will definitely understand why everyone says that Rio is “The wonderful city”
Ipanema is a neighborhood located in the South Zone, between Leblon and Arpoador. The beach at Ipanema became known internationally with the popularity of the bossa nova jazz song, "The Girl from Ipanema" ("Garota de Ipanema"), written by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes.
Separated from its more famous neighbour, Ipanema, by a narrow canal, Leblon is one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in Rio, and accommodation here comes at a price.

Perfect way to see two iconic monuments. Breathtaking views. The guide was great and made navigating the crowds seamless.
The trip itinerary was good, exactly what we wanted to see. However, Lucy didn't happen to be a great guide. She did not provide much information. Also she was late for 10-15 mins, which I understand as she had picked other travelers. However, she was rude constantly pressuring us to run after her, not to go far. She was rude telling my friends not to shop when they were only getting a buttle of water. So, overall we are happy, but if it happens again, we like to have another guide. Thanks.
Great way to see both Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer. Victoria was super knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommend.
Great trip to two of Rio's most iconic landmarks. Camilla was a really knowledgeable, attentive guide. Lots of recommendation for other places to visit during our trip. Be prepared to queue - these are VERY popular landmarks!!
This was an amazing tour. To do Christ the Redemmer and the Sugar Loaf Mountain in 7 hours was the best use of our time. The views from both are iconic and was a pleasure to do. Both sites are busy and by doing a tour you have priority access. Would highly recommend doing this tour.
Visibility could have been better, but our guide was terrific. Clear and engaging. Van was comfortable
Great way to see both sites, Que were ok takes time to get up to both but worth the wait
Great communication and convenient punctual pickup. Monica was a great guide. Very informative and organised. The tour went smoothly with tickets appearing like magic as we waited in our queue. Admittedly we were a small group that qualified as “priority” but Monica helped everyone get good photos despite the crowds. The views from both sites were amazing.
The tour was run really efficiently and our guide Victoria was very informative and fun. We had bad weather with clouds everwhere and no views, but we made the best of the day and had a great time.
Monica was fantastic. Great tour all around. She made it fun and educational. Good vibes on this tour, would recommend!
What a fantastic day. My family and I enjoyed the most wonderful experience. Picked up and taken the Christ the Redeemer, everything is looked after for you, and our lovely guide Emilia looked after everything so we could just focus on the wonder of the place. We then went to Sugar Loaf mountain. I would really recommend the later tour as the view of Rio at dusk is incredible. The lights are amazing. We all had a day we will never forget. Thank you Emilia and Carioca. Don’t leave Rio without doing this trip.
Great tour and great guide. Saw way more than if on our own. Victoria was a great guide. Her English was really good.
Lucy was a fabulous and informative guide. Bruno maneuvered us through traffic with no problems. The tour was well organized and the time at each attraction was just right. Great time!
Great tour, Monica was a brillant guide!
We had a wonderful time on The Best Half Day in Rio with Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Hill! Seeing two of Rio’s most iconic landmarks was an unforgettable experience, and the views were breathtaking. Our guide, Maelin, made the day even more special with her warm personality and enthusiasm. This was a great way to experience Rio’s highlights in half a day. Thank you, Maelin, for a memorable experience!
It was an amazing tour ! Enough time to visit major scenic spots in Rio. Our guide Meilin took the time to stop in each place and associate views with history and nature. I have a dissability. Merlin took the time to help me to get to each place we visit safely, not leave anybody behind despite i am slow walker. Driver was also very nice. Thank you team !!
Was a little disorganised with the actual attraction tickets and ran over time, but the guides were great
I booked the 7.30am tour as I only had a short time in Rio - needing to depart early afternoon for a flight. At 8pm the night before my booking the company called to say the 7.30am tour wasn’t available as I was the only person on it, and moved me to the 9am tour. I explained this was an issue; but as it was too late to rebook I joined the tour at 9am. I had to leave before sugar loaf mountain to catch my flight. I asked for a partial refund and this was refused. Really not an acceptable situation. There were at least 2 other people who had booked the 7.30am tour and were also moved, clearly the agency just wanted to reduce their own costs and combine both tours. Totally unacceptable. I would have given 1 star, but our guide (Peter) was really excellent and did everything possible to try and make the situation work. Clearly not his fault and he was a great guide.
An amazing experience and very easy in terms of arrangements with hotel pick ups. Amazing views and scenery would highly recommend
Lucy was agrea tour guide, loved Christ the Redeemer and sugarloaf mountain
My family and I had a wonderful time on this tour with Sabrina as our guide and Flavio as our driver. We were lucky to get the best weather day that resulted in fantastic views and photos. Sabrina kept our group together, getting us from point to point allowing enough free time to explore and still get to attractions on time. It was a very crowded day at both locations because the weather was so warm and clear.
Great time with Emilia, and Bruno our driver. Thank you so much for a delightful tour!
We had a great experience with Meilin, who was a knowledgeable, caring and thoughtful tour guide for our group. She had plenty of historical and cultural information to share with us. We were blessed to have a lovely clear morning at Christ the Redeemer so that we could see it (on some days it can be obscured by clouds!). There were plenty of crowds at both Christ and Sugarloaf mountain, but having chosen the included tickets made the experience smoother. Delightful views at both.
For us, we had a clean slate of what to expect on this tour. We watched Utube videos and yet was still pleasantly surprised about the knowledgeable information we received!!! Our guide was very patient and informative with the whole group, yet took the time for individual one on one sessions when it was available!! We feel our guide Maiko was the difference in making our tour a fantastic experience!!
Pickup time was moved around a bit which was fine. But they were very late. We didnt get picked up until 8am and then had other pickups - so by the time we got Christ Redeemer we were already 1.5 hours behind schedule which his insurmountable when you’re wanting a half day trip where speed is of the essence. Then we waited for 30 min for the driver to show back up at Christ Redeemer to take us to Sugar Loaf. By then, people were understandably frustrated because it was impacting other plans. One couple left at Christ Redeemer and then we left when we arrived at Sugar Loaf Mountain because it was already 12pm by the time we got there. They didnt even leave Sugar Loaf mountain until 4pm because the lines were so long to get up. NO way to advertise this as a half day. The tour guide was frustrated with the driver and made it a point to say he was a bad driver and was not part of the company but was a sub contractor.
The tour was worth it... our guide. Lucy was very insightful and had great energy. Lucy was determined to have all 19 of her."Kids for the day." enjoy the drive the ride the sightseeing, and the tour.... and also not lose a single one of us. She was a walking encyclopedia and enhanced our experience which my mom and I are very grateful..
Good stops - Sugar Loaf Mountain and Christ the Reedemer. Tour guide was nice and friendly. Not a lot of insightful information along the way on the tour. Tour started late so waiting for a long time with no update from tour company. Breaks at stops didn't seem to match correct timing.
The tour was great and the tour guide did an outstanding job despite our driver being late in mutliple occasions. Due to the driver not being on time we finished up 4 hours later! Both sites were amazing though so it is the only reason this was not given a lower score
Great half day tour with Michael. Perfect amount of time to see the two Rio highlights. I would highly recommend this tour
Great guide! fun visit! Worth it just for skipping lines but was really nice to get some info from a local
A wonderful, easy way to see these amazing Rio landmarks. Lucie was a fantastic tour guide - she gave us all the info we needed and gave us time to explore on our own too, and Marcus got us around safely. The pick up and drop off option at the hotel made the whole thing totally stress free.
We had a wonderful time on our visit to Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. It was our first time visiting Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Peter was incredible. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Filled us in on the history of the area on our drive to our destination. Very personable and kept us entertained. Gave us plenty of time to explore and answered everyone’s questions. Highly recommend.
Seamless, amazing, informative experience. The time was enough to enjoy and keep the group engaged. Peter and Flavio were fantastic.
If you are planning to on a tour for Christ the Redeemer and it might be rain, cancel within 24 hours! I had a tour yesterday, it rained the agency did not cancel the tour, there was zero visibility and the tour did not even go to Christ the Redeemer and we were still charged full price
I had a horrible experience. The purpose of this excursion was to see Christ the Redeemer. That did not happen and I feel ripped off. I asked about a makeup date or refund which met with unsatisfactory results. This is the one and only chance for me to visit Brazil and to be disappointed after I paid $130 is totally unacceptable. If you as a company can see there wibe issues, you should cancel the event or provide a satisfactory agreement with the paying customer.
There were six of us, three adults and three teenagers. Amount of time at the stops was perfect for everyone to enjoy and take photos. Our tour guides were incredible as well.
It’s a really wonderful experience especially if Amelia conducts the tour. She was very knowledgeable but more importantly good fun.
Convenient way to see Cristo and Sugar Loaf easily. We had a lot of fun together and the van made traveling ready.
We were not happy with this tour. To start with they moved us the day before to a morning booking having booked the afternoon trip due to inclement weather forecast . As predicted the weather was terrible and we couldn’t really see any of the sites we had paid to see and it rained the whole time. The whole trip was pretty much a waste of time and money and the rain had cleared by the afternoon so our original booking would have been great. In addition the tour guide really didn’t tell us much of anything on this tour it honestly felt more like a shuttle bus to the different places
We had a wonderful trip to Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain! Our guide Monica was excellent, very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. She took her time to show us everything and made sure we had a great experience. Highly recommended!
Very disappointing, I didn't get to experience the tour due to their miscommunication. I paid and was issued a ticket w nominated time but then after a few hours they told me the tour was full and asked me to select a different time, which I did but I did not rcv their confirmation until after 9.20am the next day. My original ti.me was for 9am. I msg them twice and waited for a confirmation, once the day before, then 7.30am on the day...nothing, so I assumed i was still on the 9am tour as the ticket was still saying that time! But when I went to the pick up point they did not show Very disappointing to only rcv a msg to say I am confirm for 2pm. only at 9.20am. I'm not able to at that ti.me as I wud not get back in for my departure to airport that day. So I explain my response and situation and asked for a refund due to their mistake. They refused to refund me saying I opted for the 2nd time and that was confirmation. As much as it was their resoonsibikity and t.heir mistake, no compassion so I never got to see the highlights of Rio. They admitted their response was slow. I am very disappointed w the whole experience, I was looking forward to it. RIO is indeed a lovely City...I chose the wrong Company. For them it is just about the money, no understanding or making good😒 A Young, NZ
Peter and Bruno were fantastic. Knowledgable and friendly with a great sense of humour Peter kept our group engaged all morning and Bruno kept us on time like clockwork. Highly recommend.
Our lovely guide, Monica, was an absolute star!! She made the trip so enjoyable. She is extremely knowledgable in all things Rio and honestly, she has made us want to book another trip. We had a wonderful time. Monica creates a super relaxed atmosphere for everyone in the group. She has been doing this all her working life so has an incredible knowledge of the city and all this sites. Any questions that we asked, she was able to answer with ease. She was an absolute delight. So glad we booked with her. Don’t go anywhere else. Karina was also present as another member of staff. She was also wonderful and so friendly.
That tour was awesome and so lively! Ursula, our guide, was super friendly and knew her stuff. We even got sidetracked and held things up at Christ Redeemer, and she (like a good mom) came back to find us. So sorry again, Ursula! 🤭
Christ the Redeemer was shrouded in clouds so it was hard to see his face clearly, but the experience was still amazing. By the time we arrived at the top of Sugar Loaf mountain most of the low clouds had dissipated and the views and sunset were spectacular!
Unfortunately, the trip was poorly organized, and there was little information about what was happening, the schedule, etc. Though they couldn't do anything about the weather (it was very overcast), the "tour experience" was not good and I cannot recommend this company.
We took "The Best Half Day in Rio with Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Hill" tour, and Karla Belem made the entire experience incredible! Her English was fluent, and her passion, energy, and sense of humor kept everyone engaged from start to finish. She brought the landmarks to life with rich stories and historical background, and she was always proactive about capturing great pictures for us. Huge thanks to Karla for being such a wonderful guide, and to Viator for organizing a seamless tour. Highly recommended!
It was a very well planned trip, with all details taken care of by the lovely English Speaking Guide Monica. She energetically explained all details, the history as well as many anecdotes. Timing was very well maintained. Despite a bit cloudy weather, had a beautiful view from both the tops. It was worth remembering. Thankfully, the other travellers were simply awesome; one each from Serbia, England, Ireland, a couple from US and a father & two sons team from France. It was a lovely experience.
Great tour. Well timed and organised. Passionate guide Monica. Really appreciated
