Take the first cable car ride to Urca Hill and wait for the second one to Sugarloaf Mountain.
Ride a series of 2 cable cars en route to the summit, first arriving at Morro da Urca (Urca Hill), and then continuing to the top of Sugarloaf, reaching a height of 1,295 feet (395m).
Tour started at 5pm and I arrived at 4:55pm. Guide was not at the gate. Tried to have gate agent access Viator site for the tickets and the site was down. Agent had my phone and was unable to contact tour guide. They declined refunding me and lost money for this experience. Poor customer service on the tour company.

So glad we booked a guide and fast track. Our guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and just a lovely young lady. Loved the cablecar experience would definitely recommend. The views are just stunning.
Fast pass ticket is the way to go. We waited very short both to and from. There was a little lounge area where you could use the clean bathroom and get a free water. The views were AMAZING!!
We went to Sugar Hut and used fast access. Monica help us very well and we never forgot the great experience! She communicated with whatsapp and informed us very well.
Jal was a very nice and accommodating tour guide. I was rushing to try and get amazing sunset pictures and he made it happen! Our meet up was at 5, but with sunset at 5.17, there wasn’t much time. He had our VIP (skip the line) tickets ready as soon as I got there and we made it up the cable car lines so quickly that I had time to capture some great sunset photos and grab a complimentary beer on the way up! I really wanted to get the pictures that afternoon since the next 2 days in Rio were expected to be cloudy. Jal understood the assignment and exceeded expectations to make that happen!
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the churrasqueira with full explanations of the different Brazilian foods provided by our guide Newton. We absolutely enjoying spending our afternoon with our guide he was so caring, accommodating, and professional. He was patient as we stopped to shop and take pictures at the different sites. At sunset we went to the Sugarloaf which was stunning. We can’t say enough how much we enjoyed the sites and the company of our guide whom we are thankful for such a great service and attention. Newton, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making sure our first time in Rio was memorable.
We've just come to the end of a 9 day stay in Rio. We used the services of a local guide called Jalbeir Guimaraes who was superb. His local knowledge was great (though to be expected), however its all the little extras that made us use him exclusively for a naumber of days. we dont like big groups so always opt for the personal attention of a guide. Even tho this is mor expensive, you can move around faster than a big group and a private tour is more flexible. Jalbeir, showed us the normal 'touristy' attractions as well as what the locals do for fun. Sadly, we leave Rio, but feel as though we have really seen it all and 'done Rio, like a local". Amazing landscape, unique experience, a divine creation so perfect!! And to improve we had the wonderful company of our Jalbeir guide which is sensational, with a lot of historical explanation that enriched the tour. Hey, everybody! Today, February 12, 2021 I did the 1 hour tour of the entrance to the Sugar Loaf, without lines. The experience was SPECTACULAR!!!! I did the tour with Monica, super attentive, very quiet. And since I'm traveling alone, she offered to take all the pictures and then she emailed them to me. He even waited for me to get in the Uber back to the hotel. It really is amazing, do not hesitate to take the tour with her ❤️
