Sugar Loaf Mountain Half-day Tour

We had an excellent driver and very knowledgeable guide named Felipe to visit the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Within minutes he could interpret the need of our group which exceeded our expectations. What an amazing day! Highly recommended.

One of the things to do high on anybody's list would be the visit too the Sugar loaf mountain , A uniquely shaped mountain with beautiful views from the top . The facilities at the site are quite good and the cable car ride to the mountain from the base station is an experience in itself . Enjoyed the trip and would recommend it to everyone visiting Rio

This was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish—easily a 5-star tour. The views from Sugarloaf Mountain are breathtaking, and the entire process was seamless and well-organized. What truly made the day unforgettable, though, was our guide, Sandra. She went far above and beyond in every way—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible experience. Since we had a private tour, she even accommodated us by adding on Christ the Redeemer, which completely elevated the day and made it feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Everything felt personalized, relaxed, and thoughtfully planned. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate—especially if you can get Sandra as your guide. It doesn’t get better than this.

My husband and I had a fabulous time with TT (Tania Uhlala.) She was an incredible tour guide giving us so much energy, information, and giving us time to explore on our own. She also answered all of our personal questions and kept things going at a perfect pace. We really enjoyed this experience and ofcourse Sugar Loaf mountain was beautiful!!

The tour was good; however, you will need to be patient with your pick up time. We were to be ready 10 minutes prior to our scheduled pick up time of 8 o’clock. Another document stated pick up time at 8:30. Our transportation actually showed up at 8:45 with no notifications.

Very efficient way to see Sugar Loaf. Needed to get back to our ship - they arranged an uber- very helpful. Tour of the church and steps were ok.

Sugar Loaf Mountain was excellent and well worth it. Views were breathtaking. Smooth transfer and cable car was great. I would prefer more time at Sugar Loaf and miss the Cathedral but the famous Selarón steps were interesting. Tour guide Gabi provided relevant information and kept us to time. Only feedback is related to insisting people stay on the same seats on the bus ‘policy of company’ which is unfair if you were last on the bus and have a seat at the back and no view. Seats should be shared so everyone can enjoy the tour. Overall tour was good and really enjoyed Sugar Loaf Mountain, even over Corcovado.

Views were amazing, very good excursion. We really enjoyed the experience, fast track saved us a lot of time from queuing.

A nice tour that is very specific to Sugar Loaf mountain vs a whole city tour. If you’re looking for a tour that is not a full day tour and are looking for something specific this is a great tour.

Guided tours has a separate entrance to the park. It’s a shorter line and less waiting in lines. My sister and I were the only customers.

Super fun way to take in stunning views! It was a rare cloudy day when we went up but the breaks in the weather surprised us with beautiful cliffside glimpses of the city and the ocean from such a breathtaking viewpoint.

Warley was a fabulous tour guide , so knowledgeable, passionate , spoke great English and was very entertaining. Unfortunately the weather was average & we could barely see through the clouds, but it would be beautiful in the sun & I would absolutely book with him again !

Sugar Loaf Mountain if in Rio make sure you go to this amazing place, ride the cable cart to tow levels, a dn the view from there on a nice clear day is great!

Sugarloaf is amazing. The views are wonderful. We had the best guide, Warley. He gave much info about the city and the people who live here. He was generous with his attention and good with everyone in the group. His love of Rio and Brazil was apparent and contagious.

The tour only include the transport but no more. Pickup was almost a hour late and no drop back to the hotel. No other service provided. It was easy money for this tour

Omg the views of Argentina are amazing from the top. If you’re over 60 you’re treated as a very important person and taken right to the front of the very long queue, meaning you board the cable cars first and you get much better photos. This is their number one attraction and is a very memorable experience

I went on my own and caught Uber from Copacabana you need to go early to reduce the que as it can get crowded was a great way to see Brazil this is my second time here only issue was trying to get an Uber on the way back had to wait for a long time decided to walk and luckily a local suggested I use app 99 which is motorcycles if your faring go for it if not wait for an Uber but I returned later In the day hence the traffic other wise great day out

We opted to do a series of half day tours while in Rio to reduce the risk of Rio's temperamental weather impacting all of our sightseeing. We had nothing to worry about here though! Magnificent weather, the guide arrived early to pick us up, and we were at the start of the cable car before the crowds. Once up the top we had plenty of time for a coffee and to take pics of the 360° views and watch the planes land and take off from the Santos Dumont Airport below. We then took in a few of Rio's other landmarks. Once we were dropped off after our half day, those on the full day tour were heading out for a traditional Brazilian BBQ lunch, and then up to Christ the Redeemer. Rather than being dropped off at our hotel, we even joined them for lunch to top off our great morning tour and then walked the few blocks back to our hotel. An excellent way to see the best of Rio de Janeiro!

Visited on a early morning trip, it takes two cable cars to get to the top , and its worth every penny great views. Not to many people when we got there but you could see it getting busier as day goes on.

Warley was a great tour guide that knew something about everything. He took a rainy day visit to Sugar Loaf (the only time we could go) and made it fun for everyone.

I purchased the fast track access. There was no real explanation of how it worked and the staff were lazy and careless. When asked for information, they acted as if it bothered them and were unhelpful an unmotivated. My contact with their management left me with the impression that they could not care less either. In addition no one really speaks English so, brush up on your Portuguese, and make sure your phone has enough battery for extensive Google Translate sessions. Avoid this service when possible. The whole place seems fun by a mafia-like organization.

We had a great half day tour to sugarloaf mountain. Was offered convenient pick up from the hotel lobby. Mr. Warley was our guide. He was awesome !! very knowledgeable and explained the history in great detail. Highly recommend this tour

Nice tour with amazing views from the top of mountain with a friendly guide. The only thing i didn't like was the rip off photo seller on the mountain 130 Real for 1 photo.

Collected from hotel reception right on time. Ticket for the cable car included so no need to queue. Spectacular views from the top. The cathedral and tiled steps were great to visit too.

Minibus picked us up exactly on time so good start. The whole tour was brilliant and we were given plenty of time for photos etc. Sugarloaf was amazing , stunning views and cable cars ran very frequently. Don't be put off by the exterior of cathedral, it is unexpectedly breathtaking. Fabulous atmosphere at the tiled steps.

Views are spectacular. Would be 5* if pick up was more timely. Waited from 7.50 am to 8.50 am. No apology given - courier so laid back he fell over !

Everything from the moment we placed our order went well, good communication and driver on time. Louis our guide was first class very professional and accommodating he knew how to fast track us and take a few short cuts to skip the crowds. We went early in the morning to miss the big crowds. We were thinking of going ourselves but so glad we booked the trip less stressful and a good price.

The cable car ride to the top was great. The views and explanations of the site were very helpful. We went with Gate 1 and I would highly recommend them. It was a panoramic feast.

Luis was fantastic. He took good care of all of us and took some amazing photos. (I was struggling to take good selfies ☺️.) It was rainy and chilly but the tour was still quite good.

Another astonishing tourist spot in Rio de Janeiro. The works of nature that is breathtakingly beautiful. Getting to the top of Sugar Loaf will give you the view of the whole city. The Christ the Redeemer on top of Corcovado mountain, the Beauty of Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. You’ll be in such awe and all you can say is “WOW “. The ride to the top with the Gondola is a great experience.

The only problem was the queues due to it being carnival week we waited 2 hours to get up the first cable car. Once there though the view was amazing and spectacu;ar

So many of the highlight tours include ALL the sights in one day. We booked this separate from Christ the Redeemer.

We went early in the morning. It was Sunday and was busy. I am afraid of heights but both the cable cars were so smooth-did not feel anything. Had to take two cable cars to get to the top. Amazing view from the top
