Itinerary
After Hotels pick ups, we’ll make our way through Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon (except on Sundays). The lagoon is connected to the Atlantic Ocean, allowing sea water to enter by a canal along the edge of a park locally known as Jardim de Alah. There you’ll drive by Flamengo’s headquarters and hear a little bit about the 4 most famous soccer clubs in the Rio and the rivalries involving Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense and Vasco da Gama!
We will make our way to Maracanã where we will take a lap around the stadium (external visit) and have a short stop in front of it so you can appreciate the splendor of the two-time World Cup Finals host. There you will be able to imagine the amount of history that took place since its opening in 1950 when Brazil hosted its first World Cup. Once the biggest stadium in the world, the stadium was used extensively during the World Cups and recent Olympics and its often used for local games and concerts
We will make our way to the Cosme Velho Train Station to make our way to Rio’s major attraction: The Christ Redeemer Statue at the top of Corcovado Mountain.
Upon reaching Cosme Velho Station, sitting at the bottom of Corcovado Mountain, we will catch the train with pre-reserved tickets to save time and it will take you up to the top, through the dense Tijuca Rainforest to the 38m tall (125ft) Christ Redeemer Statue. The 20 minute ride up will give you a chance to thoroughly appreciate the Tijuca Forest, which is considered to be the largest urban forest in the whole world. It represents 7% of the whole city`s territory! It’s breath taking and that alone already makes the trip well worth it. Upon reaching Cosme Velho Station, sitting at the bottom of Corcovado Mountain, we will catch the train with pre-reserved tickets to save time and it will take you up to the top, through the dense Tijuca Rainforest
Upon arriving at the Statue, you will have two options of reaching the top, by a lift and then an escalator, or the traditional way, by stairs, 222 Steps, but the prize makes it all worthwhile. Once up, the views and the imposing statue will take your mind off the walk up! Looking up you will feel blessed and protected by this beautiful monument of Christ with open arms, now one of the new Seven Wonders of the World! From up there you can see most of the city, all of the south zone and all the way to Niteroi. A unique view that will astound you. You will have about 40 minutes to get to know all the sides and views of Corcovado and take pictures.

The tour was extremely disorganized. The provider (Greyline) made us stand in line at Corcovado to pick up our tickets for the train up to Christ the Redeemer. Once we made it to the front of the line, the employees told us that we did not have tickets. Our tour guide told us we would have to repurchase tickets if we wanted to go up the mountain. After a lot of back and forth, the guide discovered that the Viator-purchased tickets were already in her group of tickets. She then yelled at us for getting in the wrong line.
Walking on level ground is required. There are some elevations where steps are optional. The guide and driver services were excellent on our trip.
Excellent experience, breathtaking views, very moving. Our guide, Filipe was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend.
Beautiful scenery of Rio de Janeiro wit a great guide Eric very informative and accommodating as well as taken great pictures of the family Many thanks Eric
They never showed up..Confirmed email and reciept for 2:30pm tour time..Viator told me to wait in lobby at 2pm..AND THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. THEY GOT PAID AND WERE A NO SHOW. No one answers the phone or the chats. Viator, hotel front desk & I all tried calling them to no avail. I expect a TOTAL REFUND. At 3pm took an uber, shuttle, tickets cost me double to do this tour.
The experience itself was great. There was no skip the line. Had to stand in queue like every one else for more than 1/2 hour. Driver was nice but the vehicle used left a lot to be desired.
Amazing tour to one of the seven wonders of the world ! Ms Maria Sandra was our tour guide. She was an amazing tour guide who narrated everything in great detail and made our trip very memorable. Highly recommend this tour
Very good experience. The tour guide was very attentive with us all the time. The transport was new and very comfortable
The tour guide was absolutely marvelous, He spoke every language of all the people who where on the tour. He interacted and was a great asset . The sights were monumental and life changing the Christ Redeemer is what you think, beautiful touching, warm heartfelt and captivating , The Heights an view of the mountain was impeccable
The tour was great. The guide was a history professor and was brilliant in the stories and knowledge of local sites and local customs. The trip included more stops, before and after Christ the redeemer visit. I think it was the most memorable trip to really capture Rio in half a day. Highly recommended.

The actual tour was just over an hour and was brilliant but nearly 5 hours in the bus which was late in arriving, would have been quicker and probably cheaper just getting a taxi to and from the hotel!

The tour was just want I wanted. The guide, Joalber, was friendly, informative and fluent in at least 5 languages.

This was a very relaxing first day activity ... They pick you up in comfortable bus and drive you through the city to the base Corcovado Mountain. The guide buys the tickets for the charming cog train, which takes you up to the top of the mountain, with great views. We got about 45 minutes at the top to see the statue and views, which was plenty of time and it went quickly. Our guide was extremely nice. The mountain and statue are basically must-sees for any trip to Rio. Yes, you can figure it out getting there yourself at a cheaper price, but who wants to do that when they've just arrived and are severely jet lagged?
Two things to be aware of ... The guide on my trip was basically handling logistics. We were given audio guides to learn about Rio, and they weren't that great. They were kind of simplistic and a bit dopey.
The other issue is that the pick-up places are basically around Copacabana and Ipanema. I was staying in a different part of the city, so they wouldn't pick me up at my hotel. I had to take the metro to Copacabana, which was easy enough but not what I had in mind when I booked the trip. So keep that in mind if you're not staying on the beach.

A large group tour but with a fluent, knowledgeable multilingual guide. Unfortunately I didn't realize it's better to take the morning tour, esp if you want ideal pix of the statue behind. It's very crowded up top and the sun angle limits your photos.

I though the Christ Redeemer was GREAT. It was a clear day.

This excursion is a self-guided experience that provides you ticketed access to both the Corcovado Mountain and the Christ the Redeemer statue. I went midday on a weekday and the statue was PACKED! Add the massive crowd to the rolling high-altitude fog, and youll understand why youll need to be patient when it comes to quality photo opportunities of the statue. Id recommend at least two hours for this excursion to ascend the mountain by cable car longer if youre opting to hike maneuver around the crowds to take in the sights and posted facts and snap awesome pictures! All in all, the excursion is worth the price as roundtrip transportation was included from my hotel. With the transportation included, youre treated to an impromptu tour of the city both going and coming from the attraction. Just remember to pack your patience, and some water.

The tour was great. The guide gave us time to look around and take in the experience.

This was a great tour our guide made sure that our wait in line was short. It was a beautiful day and the scenes from the top of the mountain were outstanding. Our guide continued to provide valuable information from the time we got in the bus until our departure. Great trip!

It has always been my Dream to See see the Christ Redeemer Statue and this Half Day Tour of this Iconic structure was Very Enjoyable.
Credit is has to given to Fantastic Tour Guide Fatima who was brilliant was Presentation while we were on the tour bus was exceptional.
Thank you very Much Fatima.
I hope in the not to distant future to go through this Tour again.

For 75 you are basically provided transportation in the form of a bus to the cog train. You aren't picked up at your hotel but a nearby hotel. You're given 30-45 minutes to snap photos of the monument and then take the cog train back down. Depending on group size you'll have to wait a bit to board the bus again as lines for the cog train may be awhile.

You are much better off doing this on your own as cog train tickets are only 17-21 USD and you're essentially paying the rest to ride a bus when you can easily take a uber or taxi for much less. We were a group of 6 and essentially paid 300 for a bus ride which excluding the cost of the cog train tickets.

Excellent tour, extremely knowledgeable tour leader.

Unfortunately it was cloudy that afternoon. I would recommend this tour be taken in the morning before the clouds roll in. The statue is very impressive, and imposong. No views because of the clouds.

Basically just a bus ride to base of Corcovado Mt. Guide didn't add any insight as usually get with Viator guides.

Comfortable bus alas, we got to the top after sundown.

We had the bad luck of a foggy day so when we got to the top there was nothing to see.....nothing!
This was by no means the tours fault of course. The 2 stars is because the price of the tour was not justified by the service, let me explain. The tour consisted of getting on a very nice charter bus and listening to a recorded narration on the way to Corcovado. Once at Corcovado the headphones were collected, we boarded the train and headed to the top. Once at the top there was no tour or explanation of what we were seeing or not seeing in this case. So we wandered for an hour and then rode the train back down. Even on the train there was no narration of what we were seeing, history of the area, nothing. We essentially paid for a nice charter bus and train ticket up the mountain. I would hardly call it a tour.

No stars!!!!

Scam company that never showed up at the confirmed time and location.

It was amazing, but make sure you go on a good day. The weather is a hit or miss. It was so cloudy we couldn't see the statue. Still, a must do when traveling to Rio!

The views are very good. The tour guide Joe gave lots of information on the way to Christ Redeemer journey. Thank you.

Excellent tour! Joe was a great guide. Prompt pick up time at the hotel, they gave us a tour of Maracaná, Sambodromo, Praia de Ipanema, etc. We speak spanish and requested the tour in this language. Everything as expected. The Christ and its views are amazing.

Everything was great, the tour was made for people that doesn't stay longer at Rio so you can visit the most representative things.

Overlooking the disaster about missing the pick-up yesterday for the Sugar Loaf mountain tour,
today's tour guide excelled track down his name. Over and above courtesy and assistance.

Do not Take this tour : the guide forgot to speak in french (only in english and spanish), it was very long to pick up all the travellers (lots of stops) and the guide did not comment the visit when we were there. Prefer your on visit with à taxi pick up.

Joalber is the best tour guide ever. Awesome experience.

Great tour wonderful
Views of the city must do

A little crowded on top but a great day to see the views from the top.

Excellent, beautiful sunshine, a perfect afternoon.

Tour was good, but unfortunately the weather was not clear on the day we had booked, possibly better not to pre-book and check the weather when in Rio.

I had been up Corcovado mountain the day before this tour, but due to misty weather the statue wasn't very visible. Being an iconic landmark in Rio, I just had to go back up on a clear day - it was worth it!

You can see the Christ the Redeemer anywhere you are in Rio. Took the cog train to Corcovado Mountain. This is the best place to see in Rio de Janeiro!

The tour was outstanding. The guide spoke English very well and I will use Viator again when the next occasion comes up.

The tour guide was very informative and personable, unfortunately I forgot his name! The cog train through the forest was definitely worth it versus taking a car to the top. The departure time 2pm made it a bit difficult to take pictures sun but we made it work. We went on a Wednesday and it was not crowded no line to enter, but I imagine the weekend to be packed making this tour perfect for those who want to skip the line!

This tour was amazing and I highly Recommend it to everyone. If your visiting RIo it's almost mandatory that you go see Christo Redentor. The best views of the city.

We spent most of our time in the tour bus, bus was late picking us up. We all felt rushed at the Redeemer, there was not enough time to take it all in, get souveneers, and enjoy it.
My advice, spend your $ on something better or just go witgout a tour, at least u would be on your own pace

great tour! very informative, our tour guide was awesome, she gave very interesting facts about the sites we passed by. I didnt expect all of the bees at the Christ Redeemer Statue monument though! Either way it was a great experience!

The experience taking the train and getting to the Top with that amazing view. Our Tour Guide was excellent and it was a memory and experience I will never forget

Good organisation, professional guide, fantastic view over RIO

We really enjoyed this tour. We were picked up promptly at our hotel. Our tourguide was friendly and informative and both the cogtrain ride and the time spent at the statue itself was a lot of fun. Our dropoff after the hotel also went smoothly. We feel like we got a very good value for our money and would use this tour company again.

Tour was good but unfortunately by the time we got to the top of Corcodavo the clouds came in and left us with only a few opportunities for pictures.

I only had a two full days in Rio and since it was my first time, I wanted to get my bearings on day one and see one of the most famous sites. Since I was staying near the airport, I had to cab to the city center to be picked up. The coach was comfortable and air conditioned. My English speaking tour guide (also spoke French and Spanish) was so sweet and informative giving information about the city as we drove to Corcovado. Spent about 45 minutes up on the mountain. You really don't need more than that. There's some shops up there for souvenirs. Some take credit cards, some only cash. Cog train ride down was fun. Very timely tour. Left the rest of the early evening open to walk around Rio.
