Santa Teresa Tram Tour, Selarón Steps, Lapa & Cinelândia

Emma- our tour guide was exceptional. On time in picking us up, told us history of landmarks we passed by, gave us options and loaded us with Brazil’s history and culture. Highly recommended this company esp Emma- Mahalo much!

We had such a pleasant tour! The guides, Alexia and Nina, did such an amazing job explaining even the smallest details to us. They both spoke clearly as well. We really enjoyed this.

We had a great moment with Alexia in center of Rio. Unfortunately the shuttle to Santa Teresa had broken when we arrived, but the guide proposed another schedule of the tour. I was impressed by how the guide knows the neighborhood. I strongly recommend Alexia, but I would recommend to offer some full day tour as well with other attractions. I have the feeling that half day is not enough.

The tour guide Emma was excellent... very helpful and communicative. The tour itself, for me, wasn't all that spectacular but left with knowledge gained. The Selaron Steps, I guess, was my highlight.

Great tour with Emma. She gave us a lot of interesting information and helped us with a lot of great tips for our stay in Rio. The weather was unfortunately quite bad that day, but we still enjoyed the tour. The nice thing is that they take care of the tram tickets for you, which can be quite busy when the weather is better. Santa Teresa was also very interesting. I would also recommend not doing the tour on a Sunday, since the library and other buildings are not open that day, which you may want to explore after the tour.

It was so fun! Alexia and Anderson were great! Alexia our tour guide was informative about the history and had a passionate personality throughout the tour! Alexia is also a great photographer and made sure our pictures were clear and great! Anderson made sure we got to all of the spots safely and was also informative. Would recommend to anyone going to Rio!

My girlfriend fleur and I went along with Alexia and Otavio on a cultural tour today. We werent sure what to expect, but were very positively surprised! Alexia had a funny way of making us take the most touristy photo's ever, which turned out perfect. We had laughs, learned some and had an overall great day! Thanks again!

I have been to Rio dozens of times but haven't explored much outside of the beach neighborhoods. I now have new knowledge, experience and love for more of Rio! Many thanks to tour guide Alexia! She was knowledgeable and answered all my questions! I look forward to exploring more of Rio de Janeiro!

A wonderful tour of Santa Teresa. Alexia was so kind and knowledgeable. She was able to get us on the tram before the line got to big and showed us so many wonderful places and art.

This is a great way to see old Rio de Janeiro!!! You will get to ride the trolly through the old town and stop at many interesting places. This is a must do in RIO

Emma gave us a very interesting and informative tour of the area despite the train being cancelled due to heavy rain. We ended at the cafe where she stayed with us until we were seated. Very happy 🥳😁❤️

We really loved our half day tour with Emma. Having queued to death for ChristRedeemer & Sugar Loaf this tour was a breath of fresh air! It gave a real local flavour to a fantastic area of Rio. Emma was a great guide helpful and professional and her local knowledge meant she ordered the morning so we had no queues. Really felt like we got to know Rio and she was helpful with shopping, local arts & crafts and a great coffee place with history. I can fully recommend the tour and also Emma.

This trip was a fabulous half day expecting Sainta Teresa and other areas of Brazil . A great all round introduction to the city but our guide Alexia was fabulous, so interesting , informative and full of energy - thank you

I had an amazing day exploring Santa Teresa, Lapa, and Cinelandia with the amazing tour guide, Alexia. This is home for her, and you can feel her great passion in sharing her home with you. She's also very sweet and energetic. I learned a lot, saw a lot, and got a much better sense of the culture of Rio. All I could ever ask for :)

Alexia went out of her way to make everybody laugh and enjoy and learn about the local neighborhood, and she is a great story teller. I enjoyed the tour so much. It felt like a meaningful way to explore Rio beyond Christ and Sugarloaf. She managed transportation and transitions smoothly, would always offer to take pictures which as a solo traveller I appreciated

The tour guides are excellent and knowledgeable. The van was comfy and cool. It was nice not to worry about anything and just do it. Only thing I would change (which I know would be somewhat burdensome but I think it would be beneficial) is having everyone meet at one or two pick up locations. A lot of time is lost picking and dropping off everyone.

Absolutely brilliant tour. Alexia was excellent, really lovely lady who explained everything well and really looked after us. We had an excellent snapshot of the historic part of Rio and i would recommend this tour to everyone who goes to Rio. Thank you.

Amazing tour, a side of Rio that you definitely need to see. I’m not really sure if the tour was great, or our amazing tour guide Emma made it be amazing. She is the best tour guide that we have for a very long time, thank you Emma and thank you for showing us your beautiful country!

It was a good tour, saw lots of things. The only thing I wished I knew before hand was how much walking there is. 8,000 steps in the wrong shoes was tough. Guide was good, English was very good. Enjoyed the tour.

Could have been interesting if the guide had been able to give some more context. Difficult to hear what he was saying, since no microphone and also heavy accent.

Our guide Emma was brilliant! Fact! She over communicated prior to the tour and throughout the tour was engaging, informative and super friendly, keeping us safe at all times and giving that little bit extra. We highly recommend Emma and this company for all your tours. Even after the tour had ended and she had left us recommendations, she insisted we contact her in the future with any questions we might have. Lovely lady and delightful host.

A great way to spend the morning. We explored the Cinelandia area, went up Santa Theresa via tram then onto the Selarón steps. Emma was a great guide who gave us great info as we went and when it got super hot, arranged for the van to always meet us for a reprieve from walking in the heat.

Great tour for an introduction to Santa Teresa. The tour guides are super knowledgeable and informative. Moreover, tour guides who have an alacrity for capturing these moments on camera and working angles will always get a 10/10 from me! Well worth the money

This tour was amazing! Vincent, our tour guide, whose name I instantly remembered without looking it up because he’s that memorable, clearly loves this city and you can tell just by how affectionately he says “Rio de Janeiro!” He was a very warm and endearing tour guide, and I was so glad to spend more time in Santa Teresa! It’s really beautiful, the cable car ride was great, and I really enjoyed the stops we made and the views! Wonderful assembly of people and a family atmosphere made for a great experience all around!

Luciana our tour guide is very knowledgeable about Rio. The tram ride, Santa Teresa neighborhood, visiting the park ruins and walking in the selaron steps for me was the highlight. We’re able to stroll the Cinelandia in the Centro as well. Overall, it’s a different walking tour and you need a good walking shoes as there’s a lot of walking but it’s fun.

An excellent tour and a wonderful guide in Luciana. It was extremely informative and her enthusiasm for Rio shone through.

My guiçde Emma was excellent as we traveled on the Bondinho Tram and then walked over 4 km in the Santa Teresa and Lapa neighborhoods. She gave insightful comments on the buildings, the history and the people in each neighborhood. I hightly recommend her.

Excellent tour of Santa Teresa and downtown Rio. Our tour guide Alexia was a wonderful host, knowledgeable, friendly and making sure we moved around safely and comfortably. We felt like we got a real local perspective on this part of Rio. Highly recommended tour and Alexia is a brilliant guide!

I was solo travelling, met great ppl on the tour, a transfer from Copacabana/Ipanema was included and our guide, Matheus knew a lot about his neighbourhood, was super kind and gave honest advice! I can highly recommend the activity!!

Great tour and family friendly. It was my wife, me and my 7 year autistic son. Great pace, but informative and very informative. We always worry if our son can handle the pace of the tour but he did awesome with no problems. We let the tour guide know about our son and Brazil is so welcoming with people with disabilities.

Great tour! Santa Teresa definitely worths a visit. Strolling in the streets surrounded by the beautiful murales gives you the right vibes for enjoying a different part of Rio de Janeiro and the tram ride gives you the opportunity to see the city from the upper side. Amazing the colourful Selarón steps and the Cafeteria Colombo. Emma was lovely and ready to answer to all the questions you may have about the city and to give you the best suggestions for your staying in Rio. Highly recommended :)

Santa Theresa with its street art and French architecture was very pretty and the famous Selaron Steps were all that I had hoped for on this long anticipated holiday. Alexia has excellent local knowledge and a real passion for her city. I learnt so much and felt well taken care of by her and Renan our driver who was highly skilled and professional. We very much enjoyed our tour to Lapa and Santa Teresa, it gave us a chance to see less touristy areas of Rio. The tram ride and the street art in Santa Teresa were the highlights. We were looked after by the lovely tour guide, Alexia, who was friendly and very knowledgeable. And also by the driver Joel. Highly recommend this tour.

I loved it. We were picked up from our hotel right on time. Emma was an amazing guide. Her English was perfect. She was so knowledgable and she spoke to every local. She showed us gorgeous street art and local artistic shops. She also answered my millions of questions with no hesitation. Would highly recommended this tour. The driver was also lovely and was trying to speak English with us which we really appreciated.
