Rio: Sunrise At Dona Marta, Christ Redeemer With Tickets

This was a surprisingly good tour. In 3 weeks of South American travel, it was in the top 5 of my experiences. We were picked up on time, and though we didn't actually see the sun because of clouds, the conditions and views for photography were still good enough to produce great shots. Getting an early start allowed for good sunrise shots, as well as a chance to see the famous steps and Christ Redeemer without the suffocating crowds. The boss also found time to treat us at a nice bakery. If you can wake up at 4 am, I highly recommend this tour.

Ederson was our tour guide for this experience, he was very thoughtful, helpful and understanding of wanting to look at everything around.

This was well worth the early departure from the hotel. Our pickup was ontime, safe, and very professional. We met our guide Ederson at the site for the view of the sunrise. He was very knowledgeable about the Redeemer and Rio as a whole. After sunrise we went up to the Redeemer and he continued to explain the history, opinions and conflicts of the citizens at the time. He went above and beyond the topics of the tour and explained a lot of other cultural topics about the country he obviously loves. He did such a great job that we hired him for the next day to take us around to some markets, the forest, a tour of the city, and to a nice quiet beach restaurant an hour outside the city. It was hands down the best experience we have had with a tour guide in our years of traveling. We inadvertently through conversation discovered that our son had Ederson as his guide 6 months prior and had been raving about him before we left for Brazil what are the odds. This was my first experience exploring a new country with a guide, and it couldn’t have been better. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. Our guide was knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and culture of Brazil. He made the entire experience feel easy, enjoyable, and unforgettable. What impressed me most was not only the beautiful views and fascinating stories, but also the atmosphere he created. One phrase he shared during the tour has stayed with me ever since: “Just be who you are.” Somehow, that sentence became my symbol of Brazil. I arrived expecting to see famous landmarks, but I left with something much more valuable . It has become a personal life motto that I will carry with me long after this trip. Thank you for such a memorable experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rio for the first time!

This was an amazing tour guided by Thais. Thais was incredible. Super informative, friendly and most importantly, passionate. He made sure we all got the best experience and the best pictures. He also helped us get to Christ the Redeemer as the first group! We saw the priest open the area around Christ. Highly recommend booking this. The combination of seeing the sunrise first and then going to Christ is perfect. One of (if not) the best activity I did during my long stay in Brazil. Thanks again Thais!

A great way to see Christ the Redeemer, the guide was amazing - took good photographs, enthusiatic and even bought coffee and a light breakfast to eat whilst we were waiting.

This was a nice small tour (only 3 of us total) our guide was amazing start to finish. He took us to all the best picture spots and even some secret spots with no crowds so we could enjoy sunrise. He took all of our photos from all the different angles, we didn't even have to ask he got every single shot for us which we are grateful for. Honestly the best experience ever.

This was one of the best experiences that I've had on a tour. The communication was smooth, the pick up time was precise, the experience was incredible. We felt incredibly cared for during our time on the tour. Nothing felt rushed at all. I would recommend this tour to everyone as I believe it's the only way to go.

This tour was amazing. We started with sunrise at Dona Marta lookout and reached Christ the Redeemer right when it opened, before the crowds arrived. Ederson planned everything perfectly, adding Selarón Steps and Sugarloaf at the best times to avoid clouds and get the best views. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe and cared for throughout the day. He also took incredible photos of us, knowing exactly how to get the best angles even in busy spots. It made such a difference having a guide who understands photography and truly looks out for his guests. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rio.

I highly recommend this tour without hesitation! Our driver, Marcos, picked us up directly from our hotel in the morning, which we really appreciated since it was located outside the city. Even though Marcos didn’t speak English and we didn’t speak Portuguese, we managed to understand each other just fine. He was very kind and thoughtful — on the way back, he even bought us some local treats because the return trip took longer due to roadwork. We were a small group of five, which we truly enjoyed. Our guide, Ederson, was friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. He gave clear explanations about each attraction and made sure everyone felt comfortable. The tour description mentioned a “light breakfast,” but we actually had plenty to eat: coffee, bread, and a bag prepared for each of us with several typical Brazilian foods. There were quite a lot of people at Mirante Dona Marta, even early in the morning. At first, it was hard to take pictures ourselves because of the crowd. However, thanks to our guide Ederson, we left with many beautiful photos. He kindly offered to take them for us and knew exactly how and where to get the best shots — the same at Christ Rédempteur. We arrived very early (right at opening time) so we were among the first visitors to enter, despite the huge number of people there.

You cant leave Rio without going to Dona Marta & Christ the Redeemer. Both are breathtaking. Be prepared to compete for photo spots since there will be a crowd all the time. Our guide Mylenna was very helpful, especially in taking our photos.

Wow! What a wonderful birthday experience - a beautiful sunrise at one of Rio's best viewpoints - Dona Marta. We were a small ladies group - myself, a solo traveller from the UK, and 2 lovely Spanish ladies. Our guide Ederson was a superb host - he picked us up early at our respective hotels, made us feel very safe while driving trhough Rio at such an early hour of the day and was very friendly and knowledgeable in both English and Spanish. We got to the lookout in good time and Ederson was our personal photographer - he knows the best spots and angles to get those beautiful Instagram pictures! He'd also prepared a light breakfast basket for us so we could have a coffee and a snack before heading onwards to Christ Redeemer. We were among the first to arrive at the statue, and could enjoy the views, take pictures before the crowds. Fun fact: the first group through the gate is greeted by a priest, a short prayer and given a blessing (after which the priest packs up and goes about his daily business elsewhere). All in all an unforgettably wonderful experience. Please remember that your guide is not a weather controller, be kind, check the weather report and hope for the best - we got a beautiful sunrise for about 20mins, then clouds rolled in, then we had a bit of blue skies at Christ Redeemer, and after that it got windy and cloudy again.

Had a great time during this tour! Myllena was a great guide! Since my tour group was small, we were all able to connect on a personal level and it literally felt like I was on a day trip with friends. My pick up time was around 5:15am. We didn’t get to see the complete sunrise due to the clouds and fog, but nonetheless the view at Dona Marta was amazing. We got to see and take pictures with Cristo Redentor just in time as well. I was dropped off at my hotel at 9am which gave me plenty of time to venture out at other places around Rio. Highly recommend this tour!

Our guide for this tour was Ederson. He was knowledgeable, courteous and firstly took us to Dona Marta for the Sunrise. The day of our tour was fairly overcast but it was still an amazing location to watch the sun come up and the views were incredible. Afterwards Ederson continued to Christ the Redeemer and ensured we were amongst the first group of people to enter. We witnessed the priest completing his early morning mass as we arrived. The location and view is amazing and the Statue itself is humbling. This was certainly an experience we will remember. Dona Marta is in a location that can only be reached with a private guide and well worth the early start plus good value for money when combined with The Christ and we were back at our hotel by 9.00 am! Thank you Ederson.

This was amazing! Our entire group of 18 were very impressed. The logistics were easy. They picked us up at our hotel and drove us to sunrise. They offered to take tons of photos for us and helped with the lighting. They were great and keeping 18 people organized. They had a nice breakfast made for us and then got us to the front of the line for the statue. Our guide’s English was great and he provided facts, history and context to what we were seeing. Can’t recommend this enough! Thank you for creating a truly amazing experience for our group.

Despite the first positive impression of on time communication and interest from the operator for the pick up time etc the outcome, in a whole, did not meet the expectations. The mood was simply destroyed as long as no one from the groups had the courage to tell all those totally unprofessional, so called guides, of some of the groups, up in the hill where we were supposed to go to enjoy the sunrise, to turn off all those huge lights using to make irritating fotos of their group mempers and spoiling the ideal scenery and therefore it is definately not worth wasting your precious sleep. When it came to the programme there were times that we were simply waiting without purpose and as far as i am concerned the group guide is like a conductor of an orchestra. He must hold control whether that is timeline or interest of the group. The fact that an approximately 3 hour, according to the description and that is why it was chosen, ended up lasting 5 hours and for someone haning a time schedule due to an upocoming flight made it even more disappointing. I hope bu mentioning all this it will help the operator focus on improving because iti is supposed to be a tour that makes you joyfull especially when it come to the sunrise above Rio which was magnificent.

Originally I was going to skip seeing the Christ of the Redeemer because of the crowd. However, I came across the sunrise and Christ of the Redeemer experience and so happy I did it. Ederson is a great guide who speaks fluent English and Spanish. Managing our expectations by sharing the schedule, providing beverages and bread/crackers, and ensuring we’re at the front of the line to get to the site, it was a wonderful way to start the day. Highly recommend.

This tour was fabulous. The sunrise was spectacular, with a few clouds to create a wonderful view. Clouds were more a problem at Cristo Redentor, but patience paid and I got great photos. All of this would not have been possible with other tour companies. Even though there was no other booking than mine, they did not cancel and went above and beyond to give me the best tour. Really love this experience. Everything was taken care of. All we needed to do was waiting in our hotel lobby and we were picked and dropped off back. Our tour guide , Ederson spoke good English and catered for all the members in our group. He ensured we got the maximum experience and also helped with taking photos which is great to look back on. Guys, I must recommend this sunrise tour experience with Ederson to Doña Marta. The place is simply amazing, you can enjoy one of the best views of Rio de Janeiro, and Ederson will make sure you get all the amenities for the experience. He picks you up at your hotel, he provides some snacks and some good coffee for you, he takes the best pictures (trust me on this one) and then he takes you to Cristo redentor and makes sure you avoid the line at the ticket office (which can be pretty long otherwise). He has a great vibe and really good energy and last but not least he’s passionate about his craft. GREAT EXPERIENCE.

The sunrise tour with Ederson was fantastic! He is a great guy, full of energy and very resourceful. Despite the fact that most people in the tour cancelled the day before due to expected bad weather, he kept his commitment and ran the tour with only two of us. This was very much appreciated. And gosh we had the most amazing and colorful sky!! Don’t hesitate to take his tour as he makes sure you will get to the right spot at the right time to get the best photos! Highly recommended!

Very well-organized tour, with a very nice guide. The view of Rio at sunrise is incredible and worth the price as well as the early wake-up call. On the other hand, it remains a very touristy attraction with hundreds of people in single file to take photos, so move along if you are looking for an authentic experience.

An extremely courteous and friendly guide. His language skills in English are also exemplary - which you don't usually find so often in Rio... From the pick-up to breakfast to the summit everything was great. He even takes over photography in prepared places - you don't have to worry about anything.

What an amazing roll! Starting the day watching the sun rise at Mirante Dona Marta, with that surreal view of the Sugar Bread, was simply unforgettable. Then we went to the little Christ, without so much muvuca, and we still had a delicious breakfast at the foot of the statue, no doubt it was a unique experience! The guide was impeccable, super attentive, polite and good people. In addition to sharing several interesting historical information, he also had a sharp look at photography, making countless amazing photos and giving tips on poses and the best angles. Everything very well organized, with a mild and relaxed climate. 10/10 experience, super recommended!

Delighted with our visit to Christ and the viewpoint. The weather was cloudy and you couldn't see anything where we were supposed to see the sunrise. Our guide Gabriela to take advantage of the time proposed us to go to the staircase of Selarón where we could take pictures without anyone but us because of how early it was. Then we returned to Christ and made time for breakfast and hoping that the time would allow us to enjoy the tour. Eventually the weather improved and we could see the Christ and the viewpoint. Thank Gabriela because thanks to her we were able to do it as it took us much longer than agreed on the tour and for her sympathy.
