We had the best time with Francesca. It was smooth sailing from the start, no issues at all and went along with our toddlers schedule. We loved her and had a wonderful day with her. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect guide!

Itinerary
We’ll begin right at the famous Copacabana Beach with a chilled coconut water — the perfect way to refresh yourself as you take in the golden sands and lively beachfront atmosphere.
From there, we’ll admire the world-famous Copacabana Palace, a symbol of Rio’s golden age and a cultural landmark that has hosted royalty, celebrities, and musicians alike.
Next, we’ll step into the very ground where Bossa Nova was born, exploring the neighborhood’s bohemian past and musical legacy.
We’ll then visit the Statue of Princess Isabel, a tribute to the Brazilian princess who signed the “Golden Law” abolishing slavery in 1888 — a historic landmark that connects Rio’s beauty to Brazil’s complex past.
To wrap up, we’ll stroll along Leme Beach, the quieter, more local stretch of sand at the end of Copacabana, where the rhythm slows and you can take in the view of the Forte do Leme and the surrounding hills.

Pedro showed us some amazing places to get food in Copacabana, was a great day.
We had a very nice tour with Francesca. She knows a lot about the food and Brazilian culture.
Mariana was an excellent tour guide. The dishes we had were excellent choices from the companies.
Not only was this worth the coins we paid... the energy and experience was great. Pedro was exceptional.... I noted him as the encyclopedia... such pride in his city and country. Mind you this is all before I even speak of the food delicious and savory.. What a great way to end our Rio de Janeiro excursion..
Highly recommend this trip - our guide Francesca was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We were very lucky as it was just the 3 of us. Great afternoon
Our Guide was outstanding! Very personable. Enjoyed the food!
We had the best food tour experience with Francesca, who was able to introduce us to such wonderful and new items that are such bedrocks of Rio’s multicultural food scene. She also was too kind in answering our questions and pointing out historic places (for me, the home of Bossa Nova, the Bottle Bar). Do yourself a huge favor and take a tour with her, you will not be sorry…. Arrivederci!!
Francesca was amazing. Great tour and wonderful experience. Enjoyed the food and learning about the history of the area.
Excellent tour and Francesca very professional and knowledgeable about her job Congratulations!
I took this tour on my first day in Rio and it was the perfect way to get introduced to the city. Pedro, our guide, did an excellent job of explaining the food culture as well as many other aspects of the city. He was fun and managed to create a great environment between everyone on the tour. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would highly recommend this tour.
Excellent experience. Highly recommend it. Our guide Francesca was great
Francesca was a great guide. We savoured several dishes and drinks over a 3+ hour walking tour that included explanations of several Copacabana landmarks and history. A great way to have lunch while sampling some Brazilian cuisine, visiting restaurants and getting your steps in.
We had a great experience with Francesca. She was knowledgeable, personable and accommodating. It was great to experience the local food with her.
Pedro was awesome pairing with the great food that we got to experience. The background information and pride he displayed was truly breathtaking. I am grateful to have exchanged energy with this walking Encyclopedia of Brazilian culture and food. My mom loved everything and please know that you need to have a big appetite... the walking was needed as it gave your body a short workout to work off the food you just consumed.
Amazing food experience with Francesca
Pedro our guide was amazing. I learned so much and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. I really enjoyed all food on the tour as well! Would highly recommend!
Francesca was an amazing tour guide! She made the whole experience so much fun. She was super friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the story and culture behind everything we tried. It was such a great way to experience the local food and learn more about the culture at the same time. Her energy made the tour even better. We had an amazing time and would 100% recommend doing this tour with Francesca! ❤️🇧🇷
My tour with Francesca was very informative and allowed me to taste every bit of the brazilian palate and history. So happy with the tour. Thsnk you Francesca
What a wonderful tour! We were very well fed and the food was outstanding. The course selections were perfection with a great mix of various food types. And the guide was informative, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. I also appreciated the small group experience.
The tour guide Pedro is very knowledgeable and please be ready to walk and to enjoy some good food and history.
Very good experience. Lots of different food!
The tour was amazing with wonderful food and our guide was spectacular! I would highly recommend this tour
Lovely guide who shared some history of the buildings and surrounding businesses all throughout the tour. I appreciate the variety of food, it wasn't too much or too little and everything was delicious. Even with the rain it turned out to be enjoyable for everyone in the group.
Pedro was a delight. So informative and fun. The food stops were delicious. Hearing the history behind the dishes elevated the experience. It was a rare rainy day, but we all rolled with it and had such a great time. Absolutely recommend!
Yuri was an amazing tour guide 10/10 company - very friendly and good to talk to! We loved the food tour and it was one of our highlights of Rio - we also learnt a lot about Brazilian food and culture! Definitely recommend
Such tours are as good as a guide, and we had a lot of fun walking through Copacabana with Pedro. The food was very interesting and tasty, we definitely got the feeling of locals
What a great tour! The food serving sizes were very good too. It was also personal because it was a small group. Thanks Pedro!
This was one of the best food tours we've ever done, and we've done a few! We really enjoyed the small group (there were four of us with the guide), and the places we visited felt very local. And although this was not our first trip to Brazil, the majority of the foods we tried were new to us. We especially enjoyed visiting a spot that was featured in Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" show. Our guide Pedro was excellent. He had so many stories associated with the city, the food, and the people. For example, he said that Brazilians refer a dip in the ocean as "breading" because when you come out, the sand sticks to you, (as when you are breading a piece of food). He gave us interesting information about local ingredients like cassava flour. He was so personable and charming, and really kept the conversation lively. Pedro provided great communication and was very patient with us when we were lost trying to find the meeting spot. A little tip for other travelers - the meeting spot is a kiosk on the beach. Uber drivers are not allowed to drop passengers off at Copacabana beach, and most don't speak English, so when we were dropped off, it was on the other side of the street and the driver pointed vaguely to a building. Anyway, look for a kiosk ON THE BEACH and you should find it easily.
We met Francesca from Secret Food Tours in Rio de Janeiro for a deep dive into the city’s authentic cuisine. Originally from Italy, Francesca has a wonderful appreciation for all things food, which made her the perfect guide. She organized an excellent day filled with stops at local pubs, street vendors, restaurants, and even an open-air market. Along the way, she shared fascinating insights into the food, culture, and history of Rio. It felt like a food tour and city tour combined! We especially appreciated Francesca’s enthusiasm and passion for gastronomy. I highly recommend both Francesca and Secret Food Tours if you’re visiting Rio. One important tip: skip breakfast! The food is plentiful, and the portions are very generous. Thank you, Francesca, for a wonderful day and a truly memorable experience!
Excellent tour! My tour guide was Yuri and he was an absolute pleasure. Great knowledge of Rio, took the time to explain all the fun history of Brazilian cuisine! Could not recommend enough. Go hungry because you eat a lot!

Great tour with Yuri. Easy pace. Great food. Not too much history but enough to engage with and learn about the culture.
This food tour was incredible, and unlike any other food tour I had experienced! Our guide, Yuri, was extremely informative and answered all our questions about Copacabana and Brazil. It was only a half-day tour, which I feel was the perfect amount of time with the number of stops we had. The dishes were all delicious, and they were all small plates/shareables, so we could taste without getting full at one stop. We had a small group, which was perfect for asking questions and learning more about one another. I would recommend this tour to anyone near Copacabana!
Yuri was our guide and he did a great job. Exceptional English, very friendly personality and very knowledgeable. The variety of the food we had was really good. The walking not too far. A good introduction to learn about the food the locals like to eat. And where!
Yuri was a fantastic guide! He was super friendly, had lots of great info and was fun to be around! Food was also great and fun to hop around and try different places in cococabana. Thanks again Yuri!!
Yuri was a fantastic guide, and made it feel like we were being shown around by a friend!! The food was great, fun stops, and lots of information about Brazilian food and history! Would recommend, especially with Yuri as your guide!
Highly recommend this food tour with Francesca! We learned so much about the various types of Brazilian foods that we sampled and the cultural influences from outside Brazil. Easy walking tour, delicious food, enthusiastic & friendly, Francesca!
