Left myself, my fiancée and our two friends stranded all because of their miscommunication. The driver deliberately left us right after we went across the street to meet them. Also, if you don’t stay at the main three hotels near the beach they will make you find a way to meet them at some point.

Newton was a great guide! Loved the Botanical Garden, so beautiful and interesting. The forest was great
Pedro and Claudio were awesome!! We truly enjoyed our tour. They were so knowledgeable and friendly. They made our tour fun!! Many thanks- we highly recommend!
It was a great walkthrough of the garden and jungle. A lot of wildlife was seen and there were many opportunities to take pictures and see views. The tour guide was very knowledgeable too.
I was traveling solo and had a great experience in a small group (two other guests). Our guide was knowledgable and very friendly -- was great at responding to our questions and requests. Helpful with taking pictures for a solo traveler!
Pedro was an amazing guide! The trip started with Pedro picking us up from our hotel, then going to the Botanical Garden, which was fantastic. We went through this quite quickly, as we told Pedro we wanted to spend more time in the national park rainforest. He took us two several waterfalls and, upon our request, took us through a number of hiking trails, including to an amazing cave in the forest. All throughout he was telling us about the history of Rio, which was super interesting. Excellent!
Public was our guide for second time in a tour in this trip. He made it great and pleasant. We”re a small group and he went far and beyond to Mae a memorable experience. He even took pictures for us. Great tour.
Appalling experience. Guide and van turned up 20 minutes late to our hotel in Copacabana, collected three more guests on the same avenue and headed for the botanical gardens. Just before parking, they u-turned as apparently they received a last minute booking from another group - so we headed back to where we came from, accruing one hour of delay through Rio peak hour. On the van our guide tried to convince us to pay extra to have a guide from the botanical gardens chaperoning us, despite we all paid for the guided tour already...We soon learnt why. The botanical gardens were amazing but the tour was a waste of time: our guide lost his way several time inside and could barely describe what we were looking at. We genuinely felt ripped off. The delay accrued from the start and with the poorly planned visit in the gardens prevented us from accessing the Tijuca forest at all, which is a national park and as such has a daily quota of vehicles which can enter it. Obviously, this quota was reached early in the afternoon, and one would expect from a serious touring agency that this possibility is forecasted, especially during peak season. With the same expectations, one would think a serious touring agency would consider switching the two attractions around to avoid disappointment or at least warn the customer about this eventuality. Clearly at this point one might have figured out that "C2Rio" is not as such. Our tour ended with our driver and guide further wasting our time shuttling us around parts of Rio we weren't planning on visiting, without offering us the option of being brought back to our hotel.
Don’t waste your time on this tour. Our guide knew nothing about the botanical gardens at all. He just kept saying “follow me”. We left the tour, along with several others, who were equally disappointed with the tour and the tour guide. The worst experience we had in Rio. Tour van was packed with more people than what it would hold.
First of all ,we arrived at our pickup point- Hilton Copacabana at 12noon.It took a little over an hour after all the pickups to begin the tour. Morever,it was not clear from the confirmation receipt that the tour didn't include admission fees to the gardens.I was not aware until my name was called at the gardens ,and we had to pay the admission fees . Lastly, we did get an opportunity to visit the gift shop at the gardens. When we inquired about the gift shop,we were told that it was the at the entrance, and we will not be returning or existing in that direction .Also inquired about getting some water, the tour guide told me that there were water fountains throughout the gardens which I did not want.I would have like to have the opportunity to purchase water .We left at the end of the Garden tours and return to cruise line.I would NOT recommend this tour.I could have done it on my own.
Our guide was Vicente who is highly professional, extremely knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. This was a highly worthwhile and interesting trip. The gardens are beautiful..and the forest is also wonderful to see.
It was great to see the botanical gardens and tijuca forest waterfall but first of all lunch was not provided, which was promised when I first booked. Second of all you could tell the guide wasn’t proficient in the tour and was reading a script the whole time. Overall I don’t think this experience was worth the price. Book at your own risk
The tourguidw was very friendly, he even showed us more than it was planed because we still had enough time. He even dropped me of on the metro station. I can totally recommand
Our tour guide I believe his name was Dio was really good . He took great care of everyone and even the people who had trouble walking very thoughtful and caring !
They never showed up and we were waiting for over 20 minutes which was disappointing. Do not book!!!
You spend a lot of time in a van. The guide struggled with English and was limited in the information provided on the tour. Be careful when you sign up for this that you check all appropriate boxes. We signed up for the Botanical Garden and the Tijuca Forest. Our receipt told us we were signed up, but at the bottom it said we were not. This was confusing and frustrating. The online process needs improvement. It is confusing and misleading.
A good option when you've already visited corcovado and Sugarloaf. Provides a fresh perspective on Rio's environs and one of the few remaining areas of South Atlantic rain forest.
The tour is a really nice, low stress way to see the lovely Botanical gardens and a stunning viewpoint and waterfall up in the forest. The guide was friendly, but didn’t seem to have that uncanny observational next-level skill with birds and plants, and the ecological depth that we have found with naturalist guided tours in national parks elsewhere - which make you see things you would not notice yourself. He did really add to our cultural experience by pointing out Afro-Brazilian religious offerings left unobtrusively near the waterfall, however.
It was great experience to see both Tijuca & Jardim Botanico. We were planning to see only Tijuca actually and we had no idea about Botanical Gsrden. However we are really glad that we chose this tour and had a chance to see both. Alexia is great tour guide, really funny and informative. And also blessings to Junior, our driver, which drove us safely.
Beware, tourists! This is a scam! We were told this would be a four hour tour. Before purchasing we confirmed we could make it back in 6.5 hours and were told that we would be back in time. Then at the first venture we were told to get a taxi back to our hotel because they now thought they could not get us back within the 6.5 hours We had to pay for the full tour and a taxi back. This company is not helpful and I would not recommend EVER booking with them.
Pickup was right on time at 12.48 as it was announced in an email. That was my first good impression. Diogo approached me and pointed me to the comfortable van where a very nice and professional driver was as waiting. I was very happy to find out that it was not a huge bus with 50 people. Everything since that moment was pure joy and fun. The tour was conducted mainly in English but Diogo always made an effort to also explain in Spanish. We started and finished on schedule ñ. Thank you very much to everyone involved for being so professional.
Diogo was an excellent guide very knowlegeble about the botanic garden. We enjoyed the visit that shows you the key points of the tijuaca
A beatiful trip, you can observe the other side of Brasil the original threes of the Amazonia, and you have a beatiful spots to take photos like a fairydary, maybe if you are from Latin América could be identified with some of the plants...the guide Pluvio was a clear and explicative guide
We had an amazing day exploring the Bosque da Tijuca and the Jardim Botânico with Newton as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient throughout the tour. Newton shared fascinating details about the local plants, wildlife, and history, which made the experience so much richer and more engaging
We had a great tour with Newton, he is very knowledgeable, attentive and passionate when sharing his country with us. We learned history, about the culture.. tried pan de queso with guaraná.. and he just went above and beyond. Bosque de Tijuca is amazing and then we enjoyed the botanical garden... from the orquids, bees, views.. and great recommendatios for pictures. 100/10 to the tour
The tour was nice, the tour guide also, he treated everyone very kindly, the only thing is that it would be better to have more time in the Tijuca Forest to appreciate more places.
This was a new experience for me in Rio and I highly recommend it. Our guide, Alexia, explained so many things about the history and details of these places. It felt like a custom experience. Highly recommend.

Really great tour for nature lovers! You will learn a lot about flowers, plants and trees. Amazing views. We had a great guide named Tais who was very friendly, social, open and enthusiastic about nature and Brazilian culture. Unfortunately on the day of our tour it was rainy and windy and we were travelling in an open jeep. Maybe could have been another vehicle, as the weather was poor.
Comfortable shuttle bus, very friendly guide and the botanic garden is a MUST see! Its has a huge variety of plans from all over the world and it is so stylishly organised! Our guides do their best to make it an unforgettable experience.
It was an excellent trip with beautiful landscapes and a lot of contact with nature and biodiversity. Both botanical garden and Tijuca Forest are very interesting places to visit at least once.
The views were amazing! I loved learning about the national forest, and seeing the different sites! Our guide was very informational. Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience with Rafael and our jeep driver during the tour of the Botanical Garden and Tijuca National Park. Rafael was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire trip engaging with interesting facts and stories about the places we visited. The jeep ride was smooth and fun, and the driver made us feel safe and comfortable throughout. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and we appreciated the time and care they took to make sure we enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Rio!
What a wonderful tour. João was amazing. It was just the two of us and our guide. He stopped at some beautiful spots along the way where we had stunning views over Rio. All of our questions were answered and it was a very easy smooth day. I was a little worried about the walking up and down as I have bad knees, but it was no issue at all as we drove with frequent stops so we didn’t miss anything. There was lots of wildlife and beautiful trees and plants too. It was a great day and I’d highly recommend it.
This was a fantastic tour! Our guide was so knowledgeable and helpful. The forest and gardens were lovely. Thank you so much! I highly recommend this tour and tour operator.
An awful experience with unorganized employers.they told me that my hotel is not in the pick up area and go to Ipanema hotel.when they took me they took the same road back and they passed in front of my hotel!!!!!and the guide João stopped in order to tell the story of my hotel!!!!are they so idiots or me???the travel agency C2RIO is an unprofessional agency!!!
The tijuka forest and the botanical gardens were wonderful.this that made me very angry were the guide who told me that he can not pick me up from Hotel Nacional and go to hotel Sol Ipanema.so I took a taxi and I went there.he came and took me.but what a surprise,he took back the same road and passed outside my hotel!!!!also he stopped and said the history of my hotel!!!and when I asked him why you didn't take me from here,he started to say foolish things!!!I am very angry with him and the company C2rio.
The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He was also very friendly. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.
The guide (Newman?) was very knowledgeable. The pace set was good. We saw lots of the gardens, even though the place is large. Lots of interesting plants/trees as well as flowers. The place was beautiful.
Really enjoyed our day. Much more relaxed after some busier excursions we had in Rio which was a pleasant change. The drive through Tijuca Forest in open top Jeep was a highlight especially when we got to see so much beautiful flora and wildlife even saw a group of monkeys by the trail. The garden was beautiful too but I would have liked a stop halfway at a nice place to eat - however this was only a half day tour so it is understandable
Lots of fun and hits the highlights of the park and forest. Newton the guide was kind and very informative. Would recommend.
The botanical garden has amazing fauna and flora. We really enjoyed visiting this beautiful place. It has no cafe or restaurant so be prepared for that. Tijuca forest was also very beautiful with waterfalls and a trek through the forest so make sure you wear proper shoes.
If you are concerned how much walking there might be, it's not massive and it's a nice break from the city centre. Good variation in what's seen. Alan our guide wasvery good.
To get there from the ipanema or Copacabana beach, you can take a Bus, Taxi or Uber. For most of the trail it’s even and flat. In The center close to the main entrance there is a beautiful building, were most visitors take selfies plus there’s a cafe where you can take a break and enjoy a meal.
Tour guide was lackluster. Rainforest was minimal experience just looked at a waterfall. For the time commitment required - I suggest skipping this activity.
Both places are worth seeing. With the tour guide, you will see the key areas. You will also see three different types of monkeys and various types of birds. Make sure you use mosquito repellant; trust me on this!
Great trip with interesting guide. Loved the waterfall in the forest but best part was knowledgeable tour round botanical gardens
This activity has the potential to be worthwhile but the guide, Allesandro, did not speak English adequately and did know how to keep a group of 12 together, so all in all it was a disappointing tour. He did not talk very much during the entire trip and instead of it taking 4 hours, it took 6 1/2 because he did not establish some basic ground rules, like “stay together as a group”. Instead of making 4 stops at hotels to pick up and deliver, there were 7 stops made. We were the first to be picked up and did not get done picking everyone up for an hour and a half. This delayed starting the activities and made the delivery of everyone back to their hotels very late also. The activities themselves were interesting enough.
Best botanical garden uve been to. So peaceful large. Lots of areas to see. Couldn't spend hours in there. Absolutely gorgeous I wouldn't miss it
Our tour started half an hour late, so we were pressed for time since this was an afternoon tour and everything closes at 5 pm. The description of the tour promised a walk/hike through the Tijuca forest, which we didn’t do! We drove through it in the van only stopping at a waterfall and at the Chinese view to take pictures. Driving through we didn’t see much from the van as it had stickers all over the windows! The botanical garden is a great place to visit and our guide João did his best to show us the highlights, but it also felt rushed as one hour is simply not enough to see even a few parts of it. The tour was in English, Spanish and Portuguese, which is too much for one guide in such a short time! João was very nice and did his best to accommodate everyone, but it wasn't easy. To sum it up, take this tour if you just want a very quick overview of both places. If you really want to take your time and enjoy them take separate tours!
