I expected a tour up to Tijuca with a few spots up the mountain and maybe short walks. It ended up to be a 70$ Taxi ride to the entrance of the reserve and than hike. i could have done that myself for 10$ with an uber. yes the guide gave a few facts, but nothing really interesting or funny. "look here is the stadium". The jeep would have been to small if completely booked, i mean who doesnt like to sweat on other people unknown people in 30degrees sun. All in all i tried tourists tours for the first and last time. save your money

We loved the forest, it was lovely and beautiful. The staff picked us up on time and also the language was familiar to us.
Dario was amazing! Super sweet, informative, and funny. We felt very safe while on this trip. Overall such a great experience.
Good value and fascinating tour. We were lucky enough to see several monkeys. Thais, our guide was very knowledgeable.
I was looking forward to this experience, but was disappointed. It was misty in the morning the day of the tour. We were picked up at the hotel by Jane, our tour guide, who was great and tried her best, but the tour was horrible. We saw a waterfall and a tree. We were then told we have to leave because the park closed at 5. We should have been given the chance to reschedule our tour or given our money back. I guess with this company it's about the money and not the experience.
If you love nature… then this is the trip for you!! Our morning started with our friendly guide picking us up in an open Jeep so you can really enjoy all of RIO driving to the Amazone rainforest. The story of the Tijuca forest is really amazing and walking right through it is breath taking😍🌳. Beautiful waterfalls with crystal clear waters, you just have to take a dive! My lungs tanked me for the clear air and amazing hike. 10 out of 10!!🙌🏼
This was honestly an amazing tour, exploring the natural spaces of Rio! However I must mention that nothing would be as great if it wasn’t for Mario (Gabriel Ladeira) who is easily the best guide I’ve ever had. He kept talking to us and informing us on all things about the city and Brazil, we shared lots of laughter and he’s been the best help and the greatest company. We even met with him the da after the tour to spend some more time together, already a true friend of ours! Thanks for everything you done for us ❤️
Tijuca National Forest scenery was beautiful! The waterfalls, nature, and wildlife was amazing! Definitely worth the amount of $ we paid!
Nice way to visit natural places in Rio de Janeiro with nicely guided.
It was a nice experience, mainly the waterfalls. I did not expect to go on hiking trails as I was not prepared for that. So be sure to wear some old sneakers, pack a small rain jacket and some snacks plus water. And eat before you start the excursion also!
We had such a fun time and our tour guide, Gabriel Ladeira, made our trip especially wonderful. Gabriel was incredibly knowledgeable and very passionate about sharing information. We learned so much from him! The jeep was super cool too. Lots of fun, not too much air but enough to make you feel like it was indeed a Jeep ride... which is what we wanted. Fortunately, I knew to bring a hat, hair tie, and sunscreen. The tour company was extremely communicative as I'd only purchased the trip the day before. They promptly communicated by Whats App and kept me informed. They were incredibly generous to make an accommodation for our pick up. Since we are in Rio visiting family, we were not near the typical hotels. The Jeep arrived early and fortunately, so did we so we were promptly off!! It was awesome and we made friends with the other tourists as well. We were picked up around 8:40 and from beginning to end was at least 4 hours. Unfortunately, we did not see any animals other than butterflies, but that is not the fault of the Tour. Still, the easy hike through the jungle was fun and it was nevertheless stunning and beautiful. Crowds were minimal and the cost was great too, especially as I had a TripAdvisor coupon. The views were amazing and I was really happy to see things that I would otherwise not have seen or learned about.
Fantastic Jane the groups guide showed us around the national park point loads of the fauna and explained the history of the park in great detail and enthusiasm which rubbed off on all of us. Also while travelling around picking others up from there hotels Jane told us about other places on route. Our drive was very good and drove at a very safe speed where you felt safe with him behind the wheel.
Even though it was raining a little bit and so the views were not as good, we had a really great time. The Tournay waterfall was very full flowing. Our guide, his name is escaping me, was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, clearly passionate about the forest and history. We saw a pair of toucans near the Vista Chinesa! Minimal walking on this tour, which was good because my daughter has a torn ACL. Would love to come back and hike more in Tijuca. Absolutely worth it!
Super worth it. Beautiful views and our tour guide was very helpful and friendly. I would hike this trail again.
Disappointing tour. It wasn’t as good as I had expected. Spent too long at a few sights when we could have seen more places. The tour guide was ok but kept repeating stuff multiple times to each group rather than addressing us all together. Tour operator was 45 mins late picking us up from hotel. Failed to respond to any messages.
Great way to see Rio and the Tijuca Forest!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the forest and Brazil. Would recommend and do again!
Several waterfalls, we didn't see much wildlife. Several scenery stops. I was hoping for more hiking. Guide was great
Our tour included Tijuca Forest and Christ the Redeemer. Fun stops along the way for pictures! Raphael and George were great tour guides. Had a lot of fun
Ana was a great and knowledgable tour guide. We saw monkeys and tanagers. The forest is beautiful. It rained but it didn’t stop the tour! You should go.
I was a solo traveler doing the tour and it was great! We were a small group, 9 people, and the tour was all in English. About half of our group was actually French and our guide tried her best to make sure they understood everything. We got lots of information and were able to ask any questions!
Beautiful scenery, excellent guide Alex gave great information. He was very knowledgeable! You can tell he loves the forest. Filipe the driver was excellent. The short hike was easily manageable. A truly wonderful experience in nature.
We had a great time with our tour guide Lea and driver Guerrero. The ride was pleasantly smooth and cushions on the seat were very comfortable. This is an excellent tour of the Tujuca forest. We saw monkeys playing, carp fish, turtles, a museum with other historical artifacts, and several waterfalls. It was a great adventure to walk through the forest and see nature at its finest. This was a surprisingly very interesting tour. Make sure you do it but be sure you wear comfortable shoes. We loved this tour. If you love nature, you will love it too!
DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR. No one arrived to collect me from my hotel. Instead they sent a man to wait with me who also did not have a clue what was going on. After making several calls to the company, he told me that the transport was at a hotel in Copacabana...(my hotel is in Barra). I sent the operator upwards of 10 messages with no responses. As a solo female traveller I felt incredibly vulnerable and am shocked at the ineptitude of this company. Do not use
Bela guide and Rafael driver my tour was amazing great information and we had lots of fun I would recommend them .or driver stop So we were able to take pictures and see the waterfall from the top of the mountains 🏔️.
We discovered that the Destination company had booked us on a tour two days & going to Christ the Redeemer on both. However our guides Bela & Rafael offered to take us to the Favela instead which was really interesting but safe. We had great views of the city & an experience we would never have expected. Really excellent service and a feeling we were with a company that cares about the experience you receive.
It was nice to be there for a little bit but it was definitely not worth the money. I expected a lot more for the price.
NEVER take this tour on a Sunday or Holiday. The park restricted jeeps to so many every 2 hours, which lead to this being a disastrous trip. Ourguide Gabriel tried his best but there was mixup in hotel pickups which made us late to the park. Jeep could not enter for another 2 hours, so we walked to first waterfall, which was nice but a max of 30 minutes was required. We were stuck there for 2 hours until jeep could pick us up. After that all we had time for was a quick drive thru the park and back home. A very, very, very disappointing trip. We were so late we almost missed another Viator tour that afternoon.
Tour guide Showed up an hour late, rushed every site we went to. Was told a 4 hour long experience. Did a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Honestly I got ripped off. The worst thing is that I don’t care if it’s late… just let me know that you are running late so I don’t stand on the side of the road (pickup location) for an hour. Waste of my time
Great expérience in 4x4 in the forest with a very interesting guide. He speaks a good english and as we are french, we all understand.
The tour was a beautiful, historical nature walk through the Tijuca Rainforest. Our tour also had other amazing stop points to view the city as a whole. The driver Fabio, was courteous, safe, and made a great effort to get us to our next destination.
The pick up process smooth as they picked you up right at your hotel and wven worked with you as to where you wanted to be dropped off. The trip itself was an amazing experience inside the Tijuca Rainforest! A special thanks to our guide Amelia amd driver Bruno—they were both really welcoming and friendly!! Highly recommend for a half day trip!!
Ana was an amazing tour guide. She was funny and showed us all of the best spots. A must book whenever visiting Rio
Gorgeous trip through tijuca. Saw monkeys and we were lucky to see a toucan. Jane was our guide. This was a fantastic trip all together
Very pleasant tour, great guide, great way to see a lot, very fast. Good for people who can't walk too much. It's not my case, but all other tours were charging huge extras for solo travelers, so I hopped on that one and was very happy with everything.
Not much activity. Only interesting thing to see is a waterfall. Luckily we had to walk to the waterfall, due to a road blockage, that added some interest.
Very long and uncomfortable ride and long walk through forest Not much to see (2 animals. couple birds).
Lovely morning drive out the city and through the forests. Guide was friendly, there isn't much walking involved it is mostly about the jeep just as a heads up
Our guide, Paulo, was highly knowledgeable, and our driver expert. The forest gives one an entirely different experience of Rio from the beaches. We'll definitely take friends with us the next time we visit the city!
Good tour, the guide very knowledgeable. He was easy to understand and made the experience good for me
You’re crammed into an open air jeep for a long drive. Once you arrive in Tijuca, the tour feels rushed. There were many things to do and see in Tijuca, routes to hike which our group was prepared for, but our trip host said he didn’t have time which was unacceptable to me. We got all of these explanations about trees, never went far enough in or towards the routes where we could see animals. Just disappointing overall. Also, you spend so much time with your back to the sun that my friend and I got sunburnt wherever possible, despite having on sunscreen. One guide hardly spoke, he just drove. Nice guys, pretty forest, but wouldn’t recommend this tour. You can hike it yourself and have a better time.
the driver arrived on time, the Guide spoke good english, was helpful, sat in the back as we spent 1/2 hours touring the city picking up people, he broke the ice and got us all chatting it was an tour in English. It was a 12 seater we all had seat belts, he answered questions on the way, got ot and walked with us. history and culture of the parks, we did not see many Animals, but he kept us away from the other groups, I understand there are about 50 "jeep tours"a day. we were mostly just our group, you got a chance to swim, or climb the mountain to the cave. it stated to rain at the end of the triop so we stopped and he put the cover on. its a open back with no roof so you get to see the forest, feel the humidity, but once you are moving its comfotable, its all roads, so you dont require a 4wd, but it was fun, I think its a "must do" if its not raining Gabriel is a good english speaker and guide, I would be happy to do another trip with him
The jeep itself was cool but the tour itself is literarily walking around the jungle with no animals to be spotted (unless you count six new mosquitoes bites I collected during the tour as encountered with animals). The tour guide, Andrea was great so five stars for Andrea. Other than that, if you book the tour thinking you’d see exotic animals, you’ll be disappointed
The open air jeep was great. The walk in the Forrest was really unique. The guide was very knowledgeable and nice.
Super fun day! Loved the jeep ride! Our driver and guide were amazing!! Communicated well and provided lots of information on everything we saw!
We enjoyed the tour very much. The jeep was punctual (to the minute). The tour guide spoke fluent english and could tell us a lot of interesting stories. I certainly recommend this tour.
This was a fun tour that showcased some really beautiful views of Brazil. Guides were great and it went very well
We were picked up by Paulo and the driver from Ipanema and taken on the tour. The main highlight that we booked for was to go into the waterfall and I had messaged them before being picked up to ask if we should wear our costumes under our day clothes. They replied yes. We got to the waterfall and were told we couldn't go in. No explanation why. I messaged the company after and they said we were taken to the waterfall.....I asked why we hadn't gone in and they repeated that Paulo said we were taken. To this day I have no idea why we didn't go in and feel as though we didn't get what we paid for. Please can someone reply to my messages!
Unfortunately this tour gave very little extra to the previous tours that were provided as part of our package ie a full days city tour. We covered the same ground as the day before which was mainly heavy slow moving traffic. When we did get to the National Park area there was little on offer. We walked through well trodden paths through the forest and saw a giant slug! Little or no other moving creatures or interesting flora. We visited a water fall which was picturesque but having just been to Iguazu Falls was not a wow. The viewing stops gave an overview of Copacabana Beach and Bay but again we had been up Sugar loaf mountain and to visit Christ the redeemer so this was not much different. Our guide was lovely and she gave loads of information as we went along but overall poor value for money for what really amounted to a trip in a jeep through heavy traffic and a bit of National Park. If you were travelling independently and had not had other visits then you could view this differently.
The views were stunning, but we were given little time to enjoy them. The whole tour was rushed because the guide had another tour in the afternoon. The driver was not sure of his way around Rio and the guide was late picking us up.
This was a great thing to do with your family when you don’t know what else to do with your family. We really enjoyed this. The people who took us around were very knowledgeable and they told us a lot of stuff. They also spoken English, which was very helpful, we so enjoyed taking pictures and seeing all the sites at this trip lets you see. I would definitely recommend this. It’s also cooler and if you’re hot it’s definitely worth doing.
