The Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói (MAC) is a Brazilian contemporary art museum located in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The work was inaugurated on September 2, 1996. Designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer, the MAC became one of the postcards of Niterói. It is mainly intended for works belonging to contemporary Brazilian art from the 1950s until today. The museum has a collection of 1,217 works from the João Sattamini Collection. [1] A collection assembled since the 1950s by the collector João Sattamini, constituting the second largest collection of contemporary art in Brazil.
Icaraí Beach is a beach located in the district of Icaraí, in the municipality of Niterói, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the most famous beach in the city. It is located in Guanabara Bay. It usually hosts public events, such as the traditional New Year fireworks show. It includes two rock formations that are symbols of the city: the Stone of Itapuca and the Pedra do Índio, as well as two important art-style buildings décor: the Cinema Icaraí and the Rectory of the Fluminense Federal University.
The São Francisco Beach is approximately 750 meters long with many grasses and almond trees, it has calm waters and its sand is fine and white. The San Francisco Beach is located in a residential neighborhood and its boardwalk is very frequented for walks, walks, cycling and with its calm waters is ideal for practicing water sports such as sailing. San Francisco Beach is very quiet during the day and very lively at night by the number of bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the area. The place is extremely crowded and moved mainly by young people, who look for an environment to have fun there. At the end of the beach of San Francisco, on the top of a hill you can see the Church of San Francisco Xavier.
The beautiful park, inaugurated in 1976, shows the high hills of Rio de Janeiro, by far Morro do Corcovado and the small miniature of Christ the Redeemer, as well as a panoramic view of Niterói. Located in the San Francisco neighborhood, in Morro da Viração, in Niterói, it is an area of environmental preservation
The Jurujuba Beach is about 300m long and is located approximately 12km away from the center of Niterói, just after the beach of Charitas. Its border includes a narrow sidewalk, quite wooded, mainly with almond trees and some ipês. With a quiet and dark sea, the beach is known mainly for being the seat of a famous fishing colony, and for housing good restaurants specializing in seafood. There is usually lunch option in the neighborhood.
The Fortress of Santa Cruz da Barra has its origin in 1555, with the installation of two cannons in a rudimentary fortification, by Nicolau Durand de Villegaignon. Located at the tip of the rocky promontory that dominates, by the East, the entrance of the bar of the bay of Guanabara , was intended to provide security against invaders and ensure better conditions for the establishment of Antarctic France. After the expulsion of the French from Rio de Janeiro in 1567, and during the period when Brazil was a colony of Portugal, it received the denominations of Battery of Our Lady of Guide and, later, Fortress of Santa Cruz da Barra (1612), constituting an integral part of the system of defense of the entrance of the bay of Guanabara.

Ederson was a fantastic guide! We had such a great tour. Niteroi is such an interesting place. The architecture of Niemeyer is amazing and well worth seeing. The views are unbelievable! Better views of Christ the Redeemer than in Rio.
It was all well planned. Due to age snd heslth issues we had to cancel our tour if the fort but the whole experience with Bianca DeLuca was winderful. Great English snd knowledge of her country and Niteroi
Professional. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Timely. Exceptional tour guide. Would highly recommend to anyone.
My teenage son and I took a private Niteroi tour w Ed. We loved it! The tour started w a very informal "get to know you" conversation, during which our guide learned about our passion for architecture: he adjusted the itinerary immediately and took us on a fabulous Niermeyer Path, with multiple stops. The Niermeyer Centre had its own guide who was very lovely and knowledgeable (he was born the year I last visited Rio, 25 years ago, and really made it fun and educational for my son). After a fill of modern architecture, Ed took us to see the most amazing panoramic views of over Rio and its neighboring towns. Then, to an operating military fort from 1600s! However, the highlight of the tour was just talking to Ed and learning about life in Brazil, its education system, healthcare, politics, social (im)mobility etc. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in architecture and/or Brazil. Hope Ed gets his dream car soon and hosts you in it. Obrigado!!!
The weather was exceptionally good, views were standing, the guide, Enderson was wonderful, very attentive, very knowledgible.
Awesome pictures from other side of Rio de Janeiro. New beaches and Innovative Niteroi’s Niemeyer buildings. Niteroi experience is a MUST in RJ
this privet tour was very very good ,nice , and worth it to see the other side of the bay and learn about the history of this land visiting wonderful places nice viewing area to get pictures , the guide was very good to tell about the history of this land his car was clean and comfortable crossing the bay brigade and getting picture in front of RIO de junior and Copacabana
I loved this tour because it enabled me to discover Niteroi, a hidden gem in Rio de Janeiro. The guide was very thoughtful and had a lot of knowledge about the history of the places. I would definitely recommend this tour for anybody who wants to experience Rio in a different way than the main touristic paths.
The views were beautiful!! We could see sites from miles away. It was lovely. We weren't able to go inside the art museum. We couldn't get the scanner to work so we couldn't use a card. Would recommend having cash next time. The fortress was wonderful. Our tour guide, Eddie, shared interesting bits of history. He was amazing! He was timely, funny and thoughtful. I would highly recommend him!!
Ederson is a very professional and capable guide , I would warmly recommend him To anyone who needs a guide in rio The niteroi tour is very good , it really gives you a different point of view giving you the possibility to have a wonderful View of Rio from the opposite side of the bay , warmly recommended !!
Excellent tour done with Ederson from trip in Rio I was alone and he didn’t cancel the tour like other tour company did the previous day. He drove me around and we visit all we were suppose to do We also spent a good hour looking at paragliding departure from the top of the mountain at 10 feet from us I love this tour, thanks again Ederson
Enderson is a great guy and a terrific tour guide. I really enjoyed this trip to Niteroi and got lucky with this Viator experience. Although, the trip was described as "new to Viator" Enderson has about 10 years of experience and it shows. I felt like this was an "everyman's tour," whereby I learned about and viewed not only the popular parts of Niteroi, but also inside/local-type places. Niteroi is an essential tour to take if you're in Rio -- so many gorgeous views. Enderson is young, casual, energetic, and knowledgeable about the best locations. Kudos, too, for his patience in helping me find the right ATM machine. Plus, his English is great, which was especially helpful.
Very friendly guide, very cult, practical... I recommend
The underground restaurant is great for a brunch with friends. Beautiful view, great service, great meals. I'm in love with the orange cake
Lindas vistas . Muchos puntos de interés turístico. Mac..Niemeyer..vista a las playas.. parque da cidade hermosa vista
A very quiet route, without queues without being rushed. Nice gratification with a spectacular view of the entire bay.
Good option to get to know more of Rio, spectacular views, very relaxing hike, to take it easy and enjoy good food and make good shots of the bay.
