Pick up on time. Henry drove us to the beautiful National Park and explained all about the nature and history of the place, as we explored by foot and car, at our own pace. Absolutely wonderful. Henry then deftly drove us to the airport in plenty of time for our 4.45pm flight to London. A fantastic way to end a month long holiday around South America!

Itinerary
Visit the Vista Chinesa monument which was built between 1902 and 1906 as a way to honor the Chinese, who brought tea cultivation to Brazil in the early 19th century. It has a privileged view of Christ the Redeemer, Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf Mountain, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, Ipanema and Leblon beaches, as well as Morro Dois Irmãos, and other Rio’s icons. People in search for the best angle causes a fierce dispute for a space, but what you see from Vista Chinesa compensates for the “push-push”.
With its privileged geographical position at an altitude, Emperor's Table offers one of the best landscapes in Rio de Janeiro. The place was widely used by Dom Pedro 2nd during the Empire. He constantly rested on the lookout during his walks through the Tijuca Forest, hence the name.
Taunay waterfall is, without a doubt, the most beautiful of them all the falls inside the Tijuca Park. It is impossible to talk about Rio de Janeiro and its natural beauty without mentioning Cascatinha Taunay. First of all, this is the largest waterfall in the Tijuca National Park with its 35 meters high. In addition, it has an unparalleled scenic beauty, bringing together all the elements necessary to connect with nature. You will surely love the atmosphere of this place.
A leisure tip to take a rest from the hike is the “Recanto dos Pintores” which is a space with excellent infrastructure to receive visitors with comfort and convenience. It has playground, ponds, restrooms, water, picnic and barbecue areas.
Be dazzled by the beauty of the Gabriela waterfall located within Tijuca National Park. Bring swimsuits along so that you can splash around.
The most famous lake of the forest is named after a Baron who lost his son in the Paraguayan War and started to visit the place to isolate himself. Although with a melancholy history, the place is incredible and it is very worthwhile to stop by. You will find turtles, wild animals and lots of nature to understand why the Baron found the lake a wonderful haven of peace and tranquility! That’s where we spot by for a break and enjoy snacks picnic style.
On the way back to your hotel, we should stop by at the beachside kiosks to sip a cold coconut water directly from the fruit, enjoy the beautiful landscape nature offers and watch the flights of paragliders and hang gliders taking off and overflying the area.

Very very professional. Very kind service. Guide has really good personality. He has perfect knowledge. Very helpful.
What a great experience. A combination of hiking, nature walks, waterfalls, national park visitor center visits and a drive by the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Our driver, Roberto, was a wonderful host. Very knowledgeable about the different flaura and fauna and clearly had very good relationships with all park rangers. We felt very safe the entire time, saw a variety of monkeys, birds (no sloths, unfortunately!) but it was the end of winter. The weather didn’t cooperate for all the views but on a clear day I am sure the views are amazing. We had two wonderful stopping points with no clouds so can attest to the views. We were fortunate to see two hang-gliders take off from the hang-gliding deck. What an experience to see! Roberto was great. Very knowledgeable and personable. Would definitely recommend this half-day trip.
Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. He was well-prepared and a wonderful companion. He tailored the tour to our wants and needs. Fantastic!
Had a wonderful time on this tour and would highly recommend it , Bruno was very courteous and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour
Our family spent the afternoon touring Tijuca NP with Carlos. He was a fabulous tour guide taking time to stop for pics! The views were amazing- would highly recommend.
This trip is great for nature lovers and those who like to hike. We went with Henry and explored the forest and swam in the waterfalls. Some of the scenes of the jungle were spectacular, especially the tunnel which was the size of the church. Henry also arranged a picnic for us next to a waterfall which was very scenic.
Great, relatively short, hike in Tijuca forest. Lunch was provided, which was very much appreciated.
Excellent tour. Beautiful views. Henry, our guide, was perfect. He knows the forest in which we hiked very well and is passionate about it. The truck was difficult at times but the views of waterfalls and the cave were breathtaking. The picnic lunch was also good. Bring lots of water as the hike lasts a few hours and it us very hot and humid.
Stunning forest and great guide. Henry was an amazing wealth of knowledge about the forest and it’s plants and animals. He ensured we were always safe and answered all of our endless questions. A not to be missed experience for those who love the outdoors.
If I could give this tour 10 stars, I would! Henry met us at our hotel (early) and our tour began before we even reached the forest. Of course the scenery was incredible, but Henry made it come alive. He knew everything about the animals, plants, and trees we saw, as well as all kinds of science, history, and multiple languages. He clearly loved teaching us about a place that is close to his heart. This was the best thing we did in Rio!
We had a fantastic day! Henry our guide and Marco our driver we’re excellent. Great with kids young and young old. We all enjoyed ourselves very much. Highly recommended . The picnic was an excellent way to rest after the perfect hike.
Highly recommend the tour. The rain forest was beautiful and the views were amazing. Lunch was also delicious. Tour guide was very informative
Walking in the forest was most amazing experience living in Brasil. Camila Feher show as a great places, tell us a lot of information about the forest history past and preset, about the forest people which are living there. Was very captivating to hear the history of the places and these things was remained in my memory. Once again thanks to Camila Feher for patience, kindness and magnific smile transform every meeting in a great moments.
Amazing trip and awesome hike. Go inside the forest and just let you be marveld with the wild life and waterways. Camila's guidance was amazing and got us through the hard parts. The monkeys were awesome. Be sure to bring repellent for the mosquitos.
Excellent tour, there are too many things that are worth it. Our guide was an extraordinary person and with excellent knowledge of flora and fauna. Fully recommended for those who want to experience the attractions of Tijuca Forest thoroughly.
This tour with Henry was a big highlight for our trip in Rio. Not only was the hike gorgeous and the waterfalls beautiful, but our experience with Henry’s amazing personality and knowledge of the land made the experience that much more amazing. He taught us so much about the types of flora and fauna, and he was so excited to capture photos of us in the stunning scenery. We are so grateful to have explored this forest with Henry, and our hearts melted when he set up a lovely lunch snack in the middle of the forest. Days later, we are still thinking back to how much we miss that day, and we hope we get to do a tour with him again when we come back. This tour was definitely the best experience we had here. Thank you so much to Henry!
