With arms wide open to the Guanabara Bay, the statue of the Christ is a work of art that cannot be compared to anything else. You may seat on the stairs in front of the Christ to take a better picture with the statue on the back. Do not miss the opportunity to take pictures of the city from up there as well.

Pick up was on time with an air-conditioned Sprinter Van. We had Carlos as our guide and he was excellent!! Gave us alot of historical information on everywhere we stopped as well as Rio in general. On the way up to the Cristo, we made stops at the Cathedral and the Lapa Steps. Both were awesome and Carlos gave us detailed history on everything. We left at 8am and were back before noon.
Very disappointing experience. I bought the tour based on what was advertised but once the tour operator reached out everything changed. The pick was now at 6:45am, but then we have to pick everyone else (understandable) but the tour time went from 8am to “maybe” 10am. I tried to reach to Viator directly with the documentation and explanation of the things that had changed but zero understanding of support. Please be aware you can’t rely on what they advertised and if you have other plans for the same day those may get impacted. Seems this is a recurrent issue (if you read other comments- which I didn’t because I trusted Viator)
I’m requesting a full refund, my brother and I traveled 6 thousand miles to see christ the redeemer in an entire country, and our tour guide wasn’t organized, no one was helpful, we waited to hours in the line only to be told are tickets were not valid, we proceeded to speak to managers and supervisors they were of no help, one of the supervisors said that the tour was oversold and our tickets were not valid!! Shortly after that out tour guide disappeared, I’ve booked a Viator tour for Greece, if it’s anything like this I’m not optimistic about it
Booked the Redeemer tour with a stop at the souvenir shop. Two items on the itinerary. The tour company combined tour packages they started the city tour prior to seeing a world wonder. We had time to stop at a stadium for everyone to get out and take pictures if they wanted to but we were not allowed to shop for souvenirs. Traveled thousands of miles to see a world wonder… seriously disappointed I couldn’t even shop for magnets.
The whole experience was poor, advertised a 0800 time slot which suited our needs perfectly but this was changed to 12 noon. My day was planned around a 8 am start. Not impressed. Offered a free city tour as compensation, on a mini bus you could not see out of and 3 stops, a church- nice, the steps already seen them and the gates to a closed football stadium, great city tour.
Our trip began by basically picking everyone up in a 16 passenger van from various locations in the city hotels. Ursula was our tour guide. The van ride up the mountain was extremely bouncy. The road was rough and had many twist and turns. Suggest if you take this don't eat before getting on this ride. You might throw up. We had to get off the one van and transfer onto another bc the CTR christ the redeemer had their own vans that go up. Once you arrive you are herded towards a ticket area where the gift shop is located. She hands everyone their ticket. Hold onto it you'll need it to get out. You only really have like 20-30 minutes to take pictures. Its crowded as can be expected. Even though the time slot allotted said 2 hours tour and 30 minutes for the gift shop. Once we met back to the bottom of thr CTR stairs. Ursala contacted the driver right away not allowing us to have any time for the gift shop. She apologized and said if she had known sooner she wouldn't have called the shuttle driver. This was upsetting because my daughter really wanted to get some souvenirs as it was our very first time in Brazil and this was the only real thing she wanted to do. The Fact that Ursala did not keep the original itinerary was deceiving and upsetting. If you want more time for pictures and scenic view just do a different tour. Then after CTR we had to drop a few people to another tour for sugar loaf, where she left with that tour group and the rest of us who only booked for CTR were returned to our original hotel starting point. I would recommend doing the train up and down and not feel rushed and nauseated from the bouncy and winding road trip and maybe even have more time to do so at a leisurely pace. You live and learn.
We were picked up on time and the guide Karen was very kind and informative. It was a very nice experience and we were lucky, no ques. The weather was also nice

I booked the Christ the redeemer tour only. They picked us up at the hotel and then proceeded to pick the remainder of the group over 2.5 hours. Once all members were picked up, we were notified by the tour guide that we were actually part of a longer tour that included more sites even though we only booked Christ the redeemer. The duration of the tour is listed as approximately 3 hours but we were with the tour group from 7:45 AM to 1:30 PM. This activity is falsely advertised. We were moved to the wrong tour which added many extra stops and we missed our next activity because of this.
The tour surprised us, we got so much more than what we expected. A first class experience with a very good guide. Very pleased.

The skip the line feature was great! Allowed us to jump on the first train headed up! The Statue of the Redeemer was amazing! Did not disappoint at all! Happy I made the purchase!
I booked the tour specifically to go to Christ the Redeemer which was sold as a 3 hour tour. I was packed in a van with 14 people and taken all over the city of Rio to other destinations for over 5 hours. I questioned the guide why I was not returned to my hotel after going to Christ the Redeemer, because I had plans for the day. He basically ignored my request and said we would be done soon. He said I would be dropped off first to my hotel, he then left several of us on van with the driver and went on another tour. I was dropped off last.
In the beginning I was slightly frustrated, because I assumed this was a private tour to visit Christ the Redeemer only to discover it was a group tour with many sights. Overall it was a good tour. 👍🏽
It is a GROUP tour and if you are not lucky you have to wake up earlier than others and wait in the car untill all other guests picked up in different hotels. They are late like 10 minutes without informing us and when i sent a whatsapp message they pretend meeting time was supposed to be this time and didn't say sorry. They put us in Spanish speaker group and guide spoke Spanish mostly and then very short explanation in English, missing much information. Also, the explanation quality is not good. Cannot learn anything much. Lastly, this tour isn't including the lunch, which is okay for me but they put us in the guest group who has lunch in program, so we had to ride the car together to the restaurant and they call a random taxi for us (** in the street with bad traffic) and we had to waste half an hour waiting for a cab coming to the restaurant. Why just can't give us cash and we catch any cab? There were bunch of empty taxis but just because the guide had to call it with an app (and also why not call a cab in advance while she was in the car when we almost arrive???) And we had to wait this car arriving for a while... or why can't call a cab for us after finishing jesus statue tour? I think the price gap was not that big.. Many things that I cannot understand. We booked this because we wanted some good guide explaining us background of this statue but we could just have visited our own. If you are an English speaker and do not want to waete your time, i do not recommend this trip.

Site says 3 hour tour, did not expect 1 hour driving to pick up other tour props and one hour dropping off , at Christ we only had 30 min and city and steps stops we had 15-20 min , that’s not even enough time to go to bathroom, guide did not explain very much , and when requested info did not provide . This is the worst $80 I have spent on your tour , I have down tour with your company before , guide was dressed like a homeless person not professional representative of your company , not friendly and was not a memorable experience
Your description of this tour was not quite how it happened. Your bus takes us only part way up and then you have take a bus run by the park it is in. Your guide should have had the tickets for this when we arrived...but we had to wait 30 minutes in the blazing sun while she got them and THEN we had to wait almost an hour in the line to get the bus up to Christ. Unacceptable! What a colossal waste of time. Once back down at the bottom, our guide (Francyelle) said we had time to shop. So, I went into the shop while others looked at the photos that were taken before our ride up. When we came out 10 minutes later, everyone was gone. We assumed they walked back down to the waiting area for our bus back to the hotel. Indeed they were there. Francyelle asked who was missing once down at the pickup point. Our other family said we were shopping. She asked if one of them could ring us because we had to leave RIGHT NOW, that the bus was coming. We showed up moments later. She saw our shopping bags and asked, Where are you receipts? My mother and I pulled them out. She snatched them and started to hurry away. I said, Where are you going? She responded she would be right back. She came back 20 MINUTES later! and our bus was no where in sight. She said she had to get her commission. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She said we HAD to leave right away but all of a sudden she takes off with our receipts without any explanation? OH HELL NO! Not cool. I had to ask for our receipts back as she didn't want to return them to us. I said that I would need them for customs upon arrival back in the USA and she finally relinquished them. Our bus did not show up for another 30 minutes!!! Sadly, for you, I am a travel agent. I will NEVER sell this tour to any of my clients.
Rick is an excellent guide. He provided us with a lot of information during the tour to Christ the Redeemer. Very kind and friendly. The experience itself was superb; it was a beautiful experience to be at the top of Corcovado.
1h30 heure de bus pour récupérer l’ensemble du groupe avant de reprendre la route pour aller sur le site ! Beaucoup trop long pour le peu de temps resté sur place ! Prise en charge à l’hôtel à 8h pour être sur le site à 10h45 !!!! Guide décevant qui préfère nous faire écouter de la musique dans le bus plutôt que nous donner des informations locales
No recomiendo ni la excursión ni la empresa, nos hicieron viajar con niños 20 km para acceder a la misma. Contratamos solo Cristo y nos llevaron a pasear por el centro histórico, nos bajamos y nos fuimos

We took the tour one day of very rainy, there was no good visibility. The guide made the experience worthwhile, Monica translated simultaneously in 3 languages and the explanations were very interesting and rich in content.
Punctual, polite and very familiar with the wonders of Rio, VAN 0KM... EXCELLENT, we will do it again!!!
