I did and learned more about Rio (and Brazil) in 1 tour with her than I have my entire 3 days in Rio. She has made me a true believer in Brazilian culture, history, and language! Because of her local knowledge and cultural understanding, I am so eager to come back to Rio. She is more than a tour guide, she is a cultural gem and I was so lucky to have her show me Niteroi!

Wonderful tour - in 4-5 hours we managed to see and learn about great places. Monica is wonderful and speaks wonderful English. The ride was comfortable, we felt like VIPs. Our best tour in Rio, I highly recommend!
If you decided to visit Rio de Janeiro then Niterói city which is right next door is a MUST. Especially with a guide like Monica who made our experience unbelievable. There are so many beautiful work of arts as well as architectural masterpieces designed by Oscar Niemeyer which absolutely need to be visited. Finally, the view of Rio from its facing neighbouring city is one of a kind. However not sure that this trip would be the same without our guide Monica!
The tour was fine, we visited the most important places in Niteroi, but the tour guide doesn't really knew a lot about the architecture of Niemeyer, something that was important for us, since was the main reason to go to Niteroi
If you appreciate architecture and art, this is an interesting and educational tour. Our guide, Monica, was phenomenal! On the drive to Niterói she gave us a history of Rio which was informative and entertaining. Once in Niterói, we toured several Oscar Niemeyer constructions with the highlights being the buildings of Caminho Niemeyer and the Museo de Arte Contemporanea. The museum (currently, Feb ‘25) has an exhibition on Rio Carnival which was excellent and Monica was even able to answer the many questions we had about the event. To wrap up, Monica gave us a choice in what to see last and after lots of modern architecture we decided to go more traditional and visit Jambiero Manor, the home of a wealthy family from the late 1800’s, completely covered in tiles. This was a great private tour (4 hours in total which felt just right) to balance out our beach time in Rio. Book it!
This tour was a brilliant introduction to Brasilia and Jose Alberto was a great guide. We couldn’t have hoped for a better start to our time in Brasilia. Strongly recommended!
Good and complete tour of the most important places in Niteroi and of the Nimeier landmarks, would recommend
Interesting to see the Niemeyer architecture and the museum. Good overview of Niteroi. Guide was great, just the sites except the museum were not open or active.
An excursion to take to discover Niemeyer and his architecture, even if the content inside the visited buildings remains sparse. Very nice guide who is passionate about the place.
Excellent, especially for architecture lovers. Wagner, a genius of the world! Kind, knowledgeable, friendly.
Beautiful city to know; the museum is amazing, very beautiful. The guide, Darío, was friendly, provided us with information every moment.
Recommended this tour, it is a beautiful excursion, NITEROI has impacted us, it is a place to come back and know more. Excellent guide, Dario.
I recommend visiting to understand the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Niteoi, as well as their iconic buildings. The guide, Monica Betazzolo, answered all queries; she proved to have knowledge about history, urbanism and architecture. He also speaks well in Spanish.
Fantastic experience, we made the tour to Niteroi, no doubt, a very well done tour, especially for lovers of architecture, engineering and history. To mention also the spectacular vitas that we have for the city of Rio de Janeiro, unparalleled. I would like to thank our guide Mónica, who is definitely one of the best guides we have had on our world trips, made us have a fantastic immersion in the city and with great knowledge of architecture, art and history. We were fascinated.
The agency got it all wrong, gave some instructions to the tour guide and others to me. Result: we were picked up almost an hour later. One of the attractions was closed for maintenance and they didn't know it.
He was a fun guide. She was a lovely woman, bright and energetic, and a good driver. I was able to fully experience the world of Oskar Niemeyer in Niterøy. They were flexible in other ways, and it was a more fulfilling tour than we could have imagined. Niterói is personally difficult to reach and this tour is also recommended for its direct efficiency.
The guide Monica and the driver Greg were and exceptional. We got caught at the hotel door on time, we went in a new and comfortable car. On the way, the guide already explained to us about Rio de Janeiro, we stopped at the World War II monument, then we crossed the Rio-Niterói bridge and stopped on the Niemeyer path. We could enter the theater and the exhibition space that was completely empty, it was a VIP experience. Then we went to the island of good travel to have a wonderful view of the MAC. We entered the museum, took a guided tour of the exhibition and took a lot of photos. From there we follow the Niemeyer path that almost no one does, which is to go to the restaurant Olimpo in the charities. We still had time to climb in the municipal park and we had a panoramic view of Guanabara Bay and Sugar Bread. On the way we passed the city center and we met the jambeiro solar and the Janete Costa museum of popular art. We arrived at the hotel at a certain time. Excellent experience, I felt very safe, the will and I learned a lot with Monica. Here is also my thanks! I recommend 100%!
Niteroi is an experience not to be missed! For anyone who wants to get to know Rio de Janeiro fully, a visit to Niteroi and the Niemeyer Caminho with its architectural works is an appointment that will leave incredible emotions and memories. We were accompanied by Monica, a highly trained guide, Brazilian but native Italian, who introduced us to this experience with attention to every detail, immersing us in the historical, social and artistic context of the place and the wonderful architecture of Niemeyer. Starting from the Teatro Popular, continuing through the endless construction site of the Cathedral until arriving at the Museum of Contemporary Art-MAC, Monica made us discover incredible, unexpected and visionary places. Not only the architecture, but also the landscape with its breathtaking scenery, looking at Rio from an unusual perspective, from the other side of the Bay, from where you can embrace an immense panorama, from Cristo Corcovado, to the Sugarloaf. It was an experience that enriched, excited, excited us.
Very interesting the Niteroi Tour that includes the visit Museum of Contemporary Art, project of the Architect Niemayer. Highly recommended and especially with the Monica guide with very complete explanations and details. Something not to miss. Thank you Monica for an unforgettable day. This modern museum Comtemporary Art Museum is worth a visit especially for the sake of the building. The museum itself is relatively small with quite few objects. If you have plenty of time and want to study ordinary folk life, you can do as I do, to go there on your own with a regular bus. From the bus stop it is good a little walk. A nice view of Rio from the location.
