More Than A Pub Crawl: An Authentic Night Experience In Rio

First bar we stayed at was very nice, well designed to meet new people on the tour. Got a small history lesson of the local area and the bars we visited had great local music. The guides were very friendly and welcoming too.

Catarina and Pablo made exploring Rio’s nightlife so much fun! We visited the steps, had cachaça shots, and learned a little history along the way. We happened to be there during an art festival, with dancing in the streets, food vendors, and packed bars. They took us to places we wouldn’t have explored on our own and kept the vibe fun all night. Highly recommend!

Decent night for folks not familiar with area. It helped us learn different spots and locations to hit up without a tour guide, but still would recommend for your 1st time.

The pub crawl we did at Laps was very an awesome night out. Me and my wife have not had so much for on a night out for a long time. Cadu is an amazing guide, very knowledgeable of the area, very caring and knows everyone! The few shots included was a nice touch. The bar/club on this crawl is the best ones compare to other tours from my research. Highly recommended to experience Rio's night out!

I had such a wonderful time on this tour! I ended up being a little bit late and our guide was so helpful and made sure I made it and joined with the group. My guide’s name was Cadu and he was so energetic and helpful and gave some cool insight into the area and bars we were going to! He also let us try different liquor that is famous in Rio. Overall I would definitely recommend both the tour and our amazing guide Cadu!!

Cadu is a wonderful guide. He is funny, witty and very friendly. One of the things I loved the most is that he is very eager to share little anecdotes, so you can learn about his culture. I did the Pub Crawl tour with Cadu and let me tell you it was amazing. Our group was able to interact thru shots of cachaça and later on samba. I danced so much that night like I haven't in years. Definitely recommend Cadu is you plan on taking this tour.

We met out guide Cadu at the first bar location. A prior guide told us it is at the end of a pedestrian street so we had no problem to locate it. However, I could imagine other travelers having a bit of difficulty since taxi/uber cars cannot drop pax off directly in front of the bar. Cadu was great fun and kept an eye on the group. He also poured us several tastings of cachaca. We went to the first three venues plus the steps for some photos, and left right before midnight. However, the party was still going strong in the various bars, clubs, and on the streets. This is a fun and lively tour; good value as well since we didn’t have to pay any cover charges. To boot, we always felt safe with Cadu and the group, so for foreigners fearful of getting scammed or robbed at night, this is a good way to sample the nightlife in Rio.

This was such a fun night. Met some amazing people. The bars had such a great atmosphere, very welcoming. The dance bars that we went to later on that night we're so energetic. I want to thank Catarina for being an amazing host.

Excellent tour, we went to 4 places, in Lapa. Shiky bar, 2 samba places and a club were we could stay till morning.

A great experience that allowed us to discover some fantastic places to listen to, sing and (try to) dance samba! Catarina was very friendly and introduced us to several different cachaças throughout the evening—the last one was definitely our favourite! We highly recommend this pub crawl.

We visited several bars and clubs, enjoyed welcome shots, listened to live bands, experienced authentic samba music, and even learned a few samba steps ourselves. One of my favorite parts of the night was visiting the Selarón Steps after dark. They were much less crowded than during the day, which gave us the perfect opportunity to take beautiful photos without the large crowds. It was also a great way to experience a different side of Rio. Seeing the city's nightlife, local music, and vibrant atmosphere added another layer to our trip that we would have missed otherwise. Most importantly, our entire group felt safe from start to finish, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro. If you want to experience the city's incredible nightlife, music, culture, and energy with a knowledgeable guide, this pub crawl is definitely worth adding to your itinerary!
