Everton our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Good personal service. Really enjoyed and recommended

Itinerary
After your guide picks you up from your hotel in Rio, hop in an open Jeep and buckle up for a fun ride! Drive to the edge of the cityscape and enter Tijuca Forest, located just 10 minutes from the city center. You’ll hear about the important reforestation program of Tijuca National Park and learn the importance of the Mata Atlântica ecosystem — part of the vast and protected Mata Biosphere Reserve, which covers 14 states in Brazil.
Explore the Visitor Center to learn about local biodiversity.
Walk to the crystal-clear and picturesque waterfalls of Cascatinha Taunay. You’ll find there’s no better way to experience the living rainforest and marvel at the wildlife to be found!
Enjoy the beautiful view of the city, as did the Royal family several times. It was at this table that Dom Pedro I, when he wanted a meal in the middle of one of the most beautiful views, would leave his residence at Quinta da Boa Vista and, with his cart, would head towards Estrada da Vista China. At an altitude of 487 meters above sea level, the Emperor's Table is set against stunning views of the city, counteracting urbanization and nature. Stairs surrounding the parapet of the area lead the tourist to the edge of a concrete ramp, making the tourist feel in the midst of a splendid setting.
Take a short stop at this historical chapel. The little pink chapel in the middle of the woods, 460 meters above sea level, resembles a house of children's history. It was erected in 1860 by the Portuguese banker Viscount de Souto inside his farm, in Tijuca Forest. The Chapel is one of the attractions of Tijuca National Park. Adorn the altar reproductions of panels with holy images of Cândido Portinari. The gardens, as well as the Carrara marble and tiled patio tub with frowning spout, were designed by landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx.
Get a nice perspective from the Tijuca Rainforest. At Vista Chinesa (Chinese View), capture sweeping views of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, Guanabara Bay and even as far as Niteroi. The lookout was built between 1902 and 1906. The oriental-style pagoda is a reference in honor of the Chinese who brought tea cultivation to Brazil in the early 19th century. Made of bamboo and cement, and situated 380 meters above sea level, it is an important tourist spot in the city.

It was wonderful. We really enjoyed it! Would recommend! Loved the views and our guide was amazing!!
Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The driver was very experienced as well and helped us take pictures of the animals. The breeze while driving through the rainforest was chillier than expected but it was nice. We were able to take a lot of scenic and group pictures together. Highly recommend.
It's very beautiful. Also you may not get to see and wildlife. The jeep ride was awesome, and they pick you up at hotel.
This was a great tour I had a lot of fun. Grayline picked me up at my hotel, I got in their jeep and we headed through the urban jungle up the .ountain to the rainforest jungle. The tour had amazing views of the city along with many animal sightings. Be sure to call ahead for the pickup confirmation and also confirm the language for your tour. The tour guides were great and very knowledgeable, I learned a lot and felt comfortable and safe for the journey. The tour last half a day. Special thanks to Avil and Helen for getting me back in time for my shuttle to the airport. I would definitely go again next time I am in town.
We finally made it to this trip due to weather. Our trip ended up on the thursday. Everton, our guide, was great! He was very attentive, psssionate about the Tijuca rainforest, very knowledgeable at what he does. He was exceptional & the driver was very careful on our journey aswell. The Tijuca rainforest was amazing, natural & worth it to visit! With Everton you get to know other things on the trip aswell. We loved it & thank you to our guide & driver!
Spent very little time in park . The walk through the rain forest was a very short. Saw one monkey and nothing else . The waterfall was very under whelming . Trip very expensive for what you actually got . Didn’t think it was value for money Spent more time travelling to area . If you do Christ Redeemer you go to same park. Only good thing was guide George he was very entertaining .
The weather was horrible. Not the tours fault.
Our tour guide George was hilarious, and made sure we were all comfortable. It was a small group so that was good as well. George was very knowledgeable about the facts of the tour. The views were amazing.
Raphael was very informative and entertaining. We appreciated all of the pictures he took of our group along the way. Our driver, Miguel, was also very informative and giving Raphael information to give to us.
We had a wonderful trip! The driver and our guide Andre were fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly and you can tell he enjoys meeting people and teaching about the history of the forest and about the different species of trees and animals. We got to see a couple of monkeys and toucans! The waterfall was beautiful, there were surprisingly not a lot of mosquitos. And it was a good way to explore the rainforest if you don't want to walk as much. I would recommend this trip and anything with GrayLine :)
Eddie was a wonderful tour guide I would recommend him to anyone who travels to Brazil. He knows the history and give very detailed information! Book with Eddie you will be happy!
We were the only ones on the tour & they were 1/2 late starting (even though the Jeep was outside our hotel). Guide advised they never see sloths - main reason for booking tour was to see wildlife- very minimal. Guide was difficult to understand & tour went for just over 3 hours - including a coffee break. We would sooner have spent the time walking in the jungle. Unfortunately, would not recommend this tour.
It was a wonderful experience. The guide was excellent. He explained the background and the local history very well. He was helpful, courteous and pleasant. The trip itself is nice. It gives us a chance to get away from the city and immerse ourselves in the charms and beauty of Nature. Many sights, like the falls, lakes, and the tree canopy were interesting. Highly recommended.
The actual tour was great. The guide was knowledgeable. But beware of the pickup times: The listed times are for a very specific place. If your hotel is far from that, then your actual pickup time could be much, much earlier.
Our tour started out with one of the tourists getting their phone stolen, so we had a delayed start and shortened the time we were able to spend in the forest because it closes at 5. What we did see I did enjoy. I loved our tour guide she was very knowledgeable friendly and funny. I loved riding in the open jeep, it made the tour more enjoyable.
The park is incredible. The guides are fantastic and the views are magnificent! Definitely recommend 🙏🇧🇷
We had a wonderful experience exploring the Atlantic Forest. It was a great opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna of the Mata Atlântica and appreciate its unique beauty. Our guide was dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about nature, making the tour both enjoyable and educational.
The hiking was lame, we don’t see much of the rainforest. We were pick up 1 hr late and the tour ended 1 hour early. It was so boring.
Absolutely amazing experience and seeing a sloth 🦥 climbing on the tree was unforgettable. Our guide was great.
A great tour that wasn’t strenuous but still gives you a good experience in the forest. Our tour guide was great, she gave us a lot of information and the open air jeep ride was the perfect way to enjoy the morning. Very light hiking gave a great peek at what the forest has to offer. The views are breathtaking and the waterfall was very picturesque. We saw monkeys eating the jackfruit. I enjoyed learning the history of the reforestation process. The ride back into the city along the beaches was beautiful as well!
The tour was great. Our guide took us through all the scheduled routes and shared historical summaries of each. She also took time to talk with us individually which made for a more intimate / shared experience. The weather was also ideal. May is definitely a great month to visit.
Wow! The Tajuca rainforest was amazing. We even got to see some monkeys and some stunningly beautiful butterflies.
Not much of a hike, but this is what I am looking for :) Knowledgeable guide; scenic route; great for a half day tour
I was picked up from a hotel near my Airbnb. Along the way, the tour guide pointed out various landmarks and notable areas before we got to the forest. Once in the forest, we got to see a waterfall, we learned about the ecosystem, and history. There was a short and easy hike that was more like a walk. We visited the guest center to discuss more of the history. I had an amazing time. I loved that my photos were taken for me on my phone. Overall, it was a great time for someone like me who loves the outdoors and I highly recommend this experience.
This was a great experience with George our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna in the Tijuca forest. Here are some things to note -The jeep does not have steps to get in. It is a steep step to get on for anyone with knee/hip/mobility issues. My mom has knee issues and was able to sit in the front seat because there are steps in that seat only. -There are no speakers or mic on board. George would speak to us on the ride up to Tijuca. You will barely be able to hear a word he says because the jeep is so loud and you may not be sitting next to him. -The hike/walk is very gentle without any strenuous parts. There are a few steps but nothing too hard for MOST people. -There were no wildlife to be seen. If you are coming to see animals you may be disappointed. The tour was great and I did enjoy myself but ultimately it’s not worth the price. I’m glad I did it, but I think it is better off being around $50
Enjoyable tour. Excellent guide. Driver took a wrong turn and we missed part of the tour! Guide 5 star driver 0.
Excellent tour guide, lovely views, saw monkeys and toucans. Would highly recommend.
Excellent tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and funny. Bring your camera for the bueatiful scenery. The walking is minimum and mostly flat, some mud during the walk. We missed monkeys!
If you are looking for an excursion that perfectly balances exhilarating fun with a rich educational experience, the Jeep Adventure: Guided Tour through the Tijuca Rain Forest in Rio de Janeiro is an absolute must-do. Riding in an open-air jeep provides an instant sense of adventure, allowing you to feel the cool jungle breeze and fully immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of one of the world’s largest urban rainforests. Beyond the thrill of the bumpy ride and the excitement of spotting wild monkeys, sloths, and vibrant toucans in the canopy, the tour is incredibly informative. Knowledgeable local guides bring the environment to life by sharing fascinating insights into the region's complex biodiversity, its native flora, and the incredible history of how this lush landscape was successfully reforested after being cleared for coffee plantations in the 19th century. It is a fantastic way to enjoy a thrilling day outdoors, snap breathtaking photos by hidden waterfalls, and leave with a much deeper understanding of Brazil's vital ecological heritage.
Very sweet tour guide<3!! I learned so much about Brazil and would definitely recommend others to go. Very fun and eventful!
Loved this trip. Was picked up on time by Everton and Gigi’s driver for a fabulous 4 hours in Tijuca. A well needed break from the business of Rio. 🙏. Everton, our guide was brilliant, huge knowledge of fauna and flora and we even got to see a monkey and several Tucans. Really great trip - highly recommended!
The guide for the jeep Excursion was very nice and understandable. He provided great history and details about the Tijuca rainforest. Wonderful scenery!
Had a very informative and personable tour guide! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.Truly a beautiful park. Loved the experience of being picked up as well. Tijuca was quite far from where we were staying in Copacabana and getting there via taxi would have been easy enough, but once I get to the National Park, I lose phone service. And there weren't really any taxis going through it at all. So the pick up and drop off is a great perk. Overall, a really good experience.
It was a fine experience. Visited a couple of stops within the Tijuca Rain Forest, included a couple of stops with the Jeep and a short walking tour through the forest at a reasonable pace. There did not seem to be much of an itinerary, however the tour guide was informative, knowledgeable, and friendly. We stopped at a few points to have landmarks or specific trees pointed out to us. The group was on the smaller side of about 8-10 of us.
This tour is definitely not worth the price paid. There wasn't much to see, the waterfall was ok, it's just view points and trees. Didn't think it was worth the $105+ on Viatour. Also we booked this tour on the app for 8:30am which is the time we wanted. And they messaged to say they were not available for the morning. They refused to accommodate us for the morning that we booked. It was either a refund or take the afternoon, they didn't seem to care. We regretted shuffling our other planned activities to go tour on this tour. NOT Worth the high price, should probably be $40. With that said, the driver and tour guide Marcia were very nice, no issues with them.
This experience is interesting and different. It roughly is a 4 hour tour which we felt May could have been condensed down to 2hours. The only negative was we thought we would be able to see some wildlife animals.
Lack of communication for travel and pick up times. I took an Uber early and was two hours ahead of the pick up time, they tole me 850a, then on another app 810a, then another 850a as a final confirmation. Pick one up and say what it is, and also no one wanted to take responsibility, Guillermo and Ricardo wrote 850am. No solution, requested a refund, they offered next day, I can't do it, that's why we plan. I lost three hours of my time in the am and they take no reaponsability. Do it with another company that has better communication, this is the issue here, and I reconfirmed 3 times mind you.
It was a fascinating visit to the forest and experience the biodiversity. The forest has some amazing trees. The museum was informative, going through the history of the creation of the forest. We would have liked more time in the museum to read all the information. Everton, our guide, was knowledgeable and pleasant.
The pictures are extremely accurate. This is a great trip for nature lovers. There is a bit of explorative walking, but nothing difficult. It was a welcomed suprise.
Very nice experience in the National Park. Only a few hours which was a perfect amount of time. The guide was very professional and knowledgeable.
Very bad company never book with them they never communicate properly. Do not understand English. I booked this tour waited for an hour at my hotel. Choose pickup location from the tour and was never picked up. Very upsetting wasted my whole day. On vacation time is precious, which the operator should understand.
Very good information about the forest, the fauna, animals and history of reforestation. The views were great despite the rainy weather.
Great tour, definitely recommend! The only issue was that we had to wait almost 30 mins for other people that were late for pick up.
Eddie was a great tour guide. The tour was about 4 hours in total. Our guide Eddie was very informative and gave us time to stop and take pictures and gave very detailed information on the history of the forest and country.
It was beautiful to see such amazing greenery in Tijuca! Everton was extremely nice and spoke all languages needed for our group!
Jane was very nice and thoughtful guide. Beautiful location and good history. Don’t expect animals to great for people that love nature.
I wouldn’t recommend this tour group due to very poor communication. My booking details clearly stated that pick-up was at my hotel address. After waiting for several minutes, I was then told that the pick-up location was a different hotel about 15 minutes away. That hotel is not listed anywhere in the meeting or pick-up details. This caused unnecessary confusion and inconvenience and could have easily been avoided with accurate information. Unfortunately this ruined my entire morning, and with a very short vacation here, I am not able to visit Tijuca. Very unfortunate, disappointed in this company.
My flight got cancelled, no one contacted me.. I need a refund, I sent a message no one replied or responded
This is a great trip through the jungles on an exciting jeep. The guide was awesome, she told us all about the places. Highly recommend. It’s really worth it!
