The tour is very pleasant and educational. The tour guide Roma is extremely edicated, helpful and professional. As the only English-speaking person in the group, he invited me to the front seat and gave me detaliled and patient explaination about every tour point, after he did it in Portuguese for the rest of group. The individual exchange with him about history of the country and region made the trip definitly unforgettable, more interesting than usual and to its full value. I give the highest recommendation about the tour and the guide Roma.

Itinerary
Stop of approximately 10 minutes for photos in the outdoor area. The iconic Quitandinha Palace impresses with its Hollywood Rococo style architecture. A former luxury hotel-casino, has received throughout its history important personalities, including Walt Disney. The visit is carried out only in the external area.
Also known as the Imperial Palace, it is a Historical - Thematic museum located in the historic center of the city of Petrópolis. Its collection is divided into the following spaces: dining room, music room, state hall, Dom Pedro II Office, princesses' room and empress's visiting room.
Dedicated to the patron saint of Brazil, the cathedral of Petrópolis is one of the most important neo-Gothic constructions in the country. Designed at the end of the 19th century, this church stands out for the beauty of its facade and its countless overworked stained glass windows.
Stop of approximately 25 minutes. Meet “The Encantada”, Santos Dumont’s holiday home, full of details that reflect his creativity and inventive spirit. Among the curiosities are the iconic exterior staircase, which was designed to be climbed starting with the right leg, and the residence's water heating system, a rather advanced solution for the time. Entrance to the museum is optional and is not included.
Inaugurated in 1884. the Palácio de Cristal was a gift from Conde d'Eu to Princess Isabel in order to be used as a greenhouse so that she could grow her vegetables. Nowadays, the Palace houses several regional fairs and, around it, is where the famous Bauernfest is located, which takes place on the last weekends of June.
Street known for having several great stores for shopping. We give customers free time to enjoy!

Lots of time for shopping in my opinion including being dropped at the mall for 45 minutes. The same amount of time allocated for the Imperial Museum. There was also a chocolate store and a chocolate cafe. Would have much preferred it to have been focused on historic parts.
The friendly and knowledgeable guide (sorry I forget his name) took us from Copacabana to the Imperial Palace museum, the cathedral, the "crystal palace", the house of aviator Santos-Dumont and various places for refreshments. It was very interesting. It could be slightly improved by making it a shorter trip with fewer refreshments.
Petropolis is a beautiful historic city, with the Imperial Museum that demonstrates how Brazil's royal family discovered the city and how Petropolis was the first city that abolished slavery in the country. The "Praca de Don Pedro" is also a beautiful plaza with many shops. The center of Petropolis also have "Rua Teresa" which is a popular street for shopping needs. The city also has a newly constructed mall with 3 stories and an incredible variety of stores.
Museum was great. Crystal palace was a joke. Very little was said about the cathedral, there were no walking tour of the cathedral
Carlos, the tour guide, was really nice and outgoing. We really loved the tour through the city and also the place where we had lunch was great. We would definitely recommend this visit.
Sights visited in Petropolis were ok but whole trip took way longer than it should have. We were picked up by Férias Turismo 45 mins late at 9.30 instead of 8.45am. No message sent to explain there would be a delay and I tried to contact phone number given and message online but no response. Then another hour by the time we actually left the city. Appreciate people need to be collected from various hotels but 30mins after we were picked up the bus was back at the hotel beside ours to pick others up, which made no sense. Bus needed an upgrade and microphone quality was poor so hard to hear guide, although his English was fine. Stopped for 20 mins bathroom break on the way to Petropolis, which was needed given some people had been on the bus for approx 1.5 hours by then, if not more. Once we got to Petropolis our guide had trouble getting some of our group to keep to time schedule. Recognise not only his fault they were late - one couple were 45 mins later back to bus than the appointed time! - but he did not seem to be able to keep track of people, even tho he had taken telephone numbers. But did not seem to use that info. And I also think he should have made it clearer to everyone what time we needed to be back to the bus. We had a choice of either shopping or brewery in the afternoon. Shopping was not much tbh - maybe brewery was better but I would have skipped this whole hour. We did not get back to hotel until 7.45pm. That’s too long a day, especially when a lot of it was spent waiting around for people.
Beautiful day. I was the last pick up, thankfully. I was given notice from tour company they were a bit late for my pick up, very thoughtful! Nice group to travel with. Clean Mercedes van. I was the only English speaking person so there wasn't a lot of translating for me tho I could figure most of it out. It seemed to me it could have been better if we had just 1 stop instead of 2 before we got there to move things along. First stop for bathroom was at a strange location at a restaurant parking lot. Nothing to do for 20 min. Next stop at the chocolate store, only a bit further, was cute w/more than chocolate. Stayed there too long as well. This is a lovely city. You can understand why it's popular. The imperial palace is impressive. We finally had lunch after 2:00. It was a good buffet with many options. Afterwards, the church and crystal palace were worthwhile. Then off to shop for an hour. By now it's getting dark. Had the time been better managed....
Petropolis was interesting, very different to Rio with historic palace etc. Bohemia beer tour of brewery incredible bargain for seniors at 19 reals (£3)!!
We toured this resort hotel that was originally built as a Palace. Then we toured the old Imperial Palace, now a museum where you have to wear cloth boots and no photos are allowed. Next stop was the old beer factory for lunch and tour. We also toured the inside of a house that has 7 mistakes on the exterior. And the church stands out in the town, looking down the waterway.
Very interesting tour. We learnt a lot about Brazil history. The guide was very good and invest time for wide background and explanations. We were the only English speaking in the tour and we got special attention from the guide
Osleide was amazing! So passionate about her beautiful country’s history, architecture and was fluent in English! It was a pleasure taking the tour with her, she recommended the brewery tour afterwards and I’m glad I took her advice because it was amazing as well! It’s people like her that make a difference be tween a good tour and a bad One , kudos to Osleide - she was definitely amazing! Ask for her please: Osleide!!! Ricardo 🇺🇸 Embassy
The pick up was late, but once we finally got started, all was good. The tour was a full day—11 hours. Very nice with good stops and a good guide. I have a feeling that the company that we booked with farmed us off to another company that had a longer tour. We enjoyed it. The guide tried to speak English after every stop as we were the only English speakers. She did a good job.
Excellent tour, very attentive guide, excellent, excellent driver... Thankful for everything.. met my expectations
I would have liked to see more of Petrópolis itself, instead of just the museum.
Wonderful experience. Cultural and historical enrichment of Imperial Brazil.
Excellent tour, the guide ROMA was the highlight, very attentive, explains everything with great patience and education. We recommend to all
Great tour, with refinement of information. Traveling through the history of Brazil. It is very worthwhile.
The guide is wonderful, super kind, polite, and the whole day was incredible
The experience was great, the Rome tour guide was very attentive and helpful, punctual with the boarding time, I highly recommend the company Ferias/ CityRio.
I would like to register my gratitude to Guia Adri Costa! I had one of those culture and history classes for life, A professional show!
Place rich in historical roots about the government and structure of our country in the imperial period. Great diversity in commerce and quality in products!
The best tour I took in Rio, a tour rich in history, culture, knowledge, architecture. Adriane's guide is perfect, her knowledge surpasses history books and disseminates the humanity of the royal family and the reality of the 19th century; she doesn't tell a story, she narrates history with feeling, as if she had lived in that era. Congratulations to guide Adri!!!
Adriana and Marcelo were very nice and attentive. Adriana explained the history of the Imperial Family very well. Thank you for the professionalism and for Agência Maranhense American Trip.
Excellent tour and guide. Very careful driver.
Adriana's guide and driver Marcelo made the trip to Petropolis, which was already good, even better, because they are people who love what they do, and that makes everything much lighter, the experience was incredible, highly recommend.
Great experience and incredible guide. A note: Could you decrease the time on Santa Tereza Street and increase the time at the Café.
The experience was great, Adriana was very attentive and explained the tour in detail. I recommend!
Excellent tour with an excellent guide
Good guide with a lot of knowledge about Petropolis
Today was the day to visit Petrópolis, and I want to give our special thanks to Guide Roma and Operator Orinter for all the care, attention, and professionalism during the tour. It was a wonderful experience, with a lot of history, beautiful places, and, above all, impeccable service. Thank you for making our day even more special!
Extremely attentive and instructed guide. We did the 1-day trip to Petrópolis. The company was very accommodating regarding our transfer to the hotel. Also with a lot of patience and care for my elderly mother. Comfortable bus. Fair price. We recommend. Special thanks to Guide Mr Roma and driver Luiz.
Incredible experience to be able to have contact with the pure history of Brazil, since the arrival of the Royal Family. The Rome guide was wonderful, exceptional, he presented the place with great passion for what he does, and he also masters the subject well. Note 10000
Incredible experience and we will definitely come back🙌🏻
It was excellent; we learned a lot about its history and many beautiful places
Incredible experience from start to finish, for the tourist who wants to understand and live a little of the imperial city, I highly recommend! Quiet city, pleasant weather, wonderful team.
Provide instructions before the tour about what the weather is like so we can bring coats or umbrellas if necessary.
I recommend it, wonderful tour, super enjoyed and a leap in the history of the Brazilian Empire.
Animated people, very collaborative, the trip is too good, explanation everything very well. The food was good.
It was incredible! Adriana and Reinaldo were wonderful.
Super indicate the agency. We made 2 tours and in both the guides and drivers were wonderful, tireless to make our family trip a much more special moment! Gratitude! Note 10!!!
I was lucky enough to meet a great guide, Aldo. I was the only French out of a group of 20 people, and he made the effort to translate everything into French, I really enjoyed it. The tour itself was very interesting, I advise
2h in Rio in bus p/ pick up passengers. Running on a visit to the Imperial Museum. Catedral fechada. Very bad!!!
A beautiful mountain town that is definitely worth a visit. Our guide also tried to send us all the information in English. We already knew a lot about the story. That helped. The bus was not that big (about 18) and air conditioned. Good value for money.
The trip was great. City Rio was punctual with the start time of the tour, complying with all scheduled schedule. Highlight to the Guide Marco (Chilean), who led the class with harmony. Being super friendly, with nice information during the tour and always helpful.
The tour, the company, the guide were very good. Ameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I will come back and will use the same tour company
I am a final student of the Tourist Guide and Professional Photographer course. The tour to Petropolis took place on 04/27, as part of our training to complete the course
Foi um sonho realizado, gosto muito de història, e com este passeio congui ver te perto, e sentir parte da história do no brasil.
