Camilla is an amazing chef. She served us so much traditional Brazilian food and educated us with each tasting. YUM! Highly recommend this, go hungry!
I booked this experience to try different kinds of Brazilian foods and I was not disappointment. Marcela was a great teacher and knew a lot of history of the different foods. I would suggest this intimate experience!!
Fantastic experience, got to taste many different foods with history behind them and also history of Brazil and Rio. Guide was so nice and fun to talk with.
Great food. Great time. Left with a full belly and lots of knowledge about Rio de Janeiro
We learned so much about Brazilian foods and had a delicious tastings experience. Flavio was an excellent teacher and chef. I highly recommend this - it was so much more than the typical food tour.
Flavio was an absolutely amazing guide. He showed us so many different foods around the open market giving us the opportunity to see how the food is packaged before we went and tried all of the freshly made dishes. He was kind, understanding, and patient. His English is excellent and we learned so much from him.
Flavio was amazing! We had the best time and the food was delicious.
We are a family of 5. Grandmom and dad Brazilians and mom and kids (16+14) Americans. Flavio was our chef and guide through this marvelous journey of flavors and history. Highly recommend for Flavio’s restaurant and teacher background made him able to answer all our questions with interesting stories and detailed explanations.
Flavio is very knowledgeable and helped us understand a lot of what’s behind Brazilian cuisine. The food and drinks were delicious. 100% recommended
This is really well worth your time: you will get a great overview of the best foods you’ll find in Brazil and you’re guaranteed to try some new foods you’ll love. Flavio is very nice, and really informative.

Roberto was great. I could try lots of Brazilian food. I really LOVED this experience
Chef Ana was great. We learned how to make several local Brazilian dishes. It was fun and engaging. Highly recommend this experience.
We had an amazing experience on our food tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who’s coming to Rio. And I would recommend this tour to be done on day one, to get oriented with Rio’s food and culture Flavio was our chef and guide. He is remarkably knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to and we had a great conversation. I learned a lot about Brazilian culture, ideology and food. We learnt about the fruits, breads, meats, drinks. He cooked us up a plates and coursed dinner with various local foods. It was excellent!!
Great way to snack on and drink some of the Brazilians favorites. Not quite the full 3 hours but enough so that you are full.
A must do activity in Rio if you love food and learning about local culture. Roberto is a standout host, very friendly, high-energy, informative and above all FABULOUS! The food he prepares for you to try is delicious and as authentically Brazilian as you can get. Highly recommend!
This was a fantastic experience. We were part of a girls trip to Rio de Janeiro and got the full eating experience here in just a couple of hours. The chef was so kind, very knowledgeable and everything was delicious! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who a true Brazilian experience.
This was such a great experience from beginning to end. We learned so much about the different foods popular in Brazil and then walked over to a local bar and tried their popular drink and appetizers. I would highly recommend this experience!!
Really enjoyed the variety to better understand what Brazilians like. Not everything was for my palate but it was a great way to try traditional Brazilian foods, snacks and drinks. Our host and chef Flavio did a great job with the group.
Great food and experience. Loved every bit of it! Great explanations and fun to watch food be prepped. Would do again!
Such a wonderful experience! Flavio has been a great guide!
Great fun Roberto adapted the cocktails to our taste and made the class so much fun
This was a fabulous experience. Watching the chef present 33 different Brazilian foods was terrific. We had the opportunity to taste, different fruits, appetizers, maim courses, snacks and deserts. Too much great food and the time with the chef was wonderful. Great way to learn about Brazilian foods.
This was a wonderful experience. This was an amazing way to experience the many foods of Brazil. Lots of different Brazilian fruits to taste, and the specialty items cooked and presented were wonderful. Sitting around talking with the chef as she prepares the different items was entertaining and enlightening. More than a full meal and the visit to a local tavern for an after evening drink just capped off the night. A great way to experience Brazil.
Highly recommend!!! My husband and I attended this excursion during our honeymoon. Traditionally he’s not a foodie but Flavio’s cooking was so amazing he couldn’t resist. The courses were thoughtfully curated and prepared. I loved that we also visited two local restaurants as apart of the tour. Book this tour with Flavio he’s amazing !!
Super with chef Roberto! He was a very enthousiastic guide and chef. Loved it! Learned a lot about Brazilian food and culture.
The chef was very kind and informative.he explained each food with great detail would definitely go again with out a doubt
My wife and I went with our travel guide and had a blast! There were many flights(courses) and each was well planned with a drink and several small appetizers. We finished with a small walk to two local bars, it was magical.
This was a wonderful experience!! Such a fun way to experience and learn about Brazil through food traditions. I would absolutely recommend taking this class.
Good way to taste a wise variety of local foods! Host was gracious and answered many questions about both Brazilian food and culture, pverall am outstatnding job. The food was tasty, with the picahna a stand-out. Tour was primarily on location (which would be hard to find but they send a very helpful video showing you how to arrive), with two stops a short walk away- nice in the hot weather and/or for people who dont want to walk long distance. The tour company was also very gracious in supporting a scheduling issue we had. Overall, would recommend.
Fantastic cooking and drinks with Erica. Erica is a local chef who was very comfortable with teaching a diverse group of tourists. She explained the culture behind the drinks and food we made as a group. The class was a fun intimate group of around 7 people which made it more fun to make a 3 course meal with drinks.
This was probably one of my highlights during my entire trip in Rio. Ana was lovely, the food we made was top tier, we also made lime and passion fruit caprihnas. I will definitely be coming back again when I’m next in Rio. As a non-Brazilian, she explained each of the dishes, and provided a PDF so that I can make it at home myself. Thank you for the experience ❤️
What you see on Viator is NOT what you get. You do not get to try 33 Brazilian foods. I can only specifically speak for my instructor, Roberto. He is a bundle of energy, very charismatic but does not take cleanliness seriously in the kitchen. There were multiple times where he touched his phone, coughed into his hands, raked through his hair before touching the food. We did not see him wash his hands throughout the session. At one point he ate over the food and his saliva dripped onto the food. The cherry on top was when he was talking with food in his mouth and he SPIT all the way across the room onto my friends face. I feel like he tries to butter you up by taking you to a bar after to get 1 drink and some appetizers. Overall, I can see this being a cool experience and I learned a lot about Brazilian cuisine but just check to see who your instructor is after booking and or prepared for the lack of cleanliness.
It was a super fun experience and it was super cool to learn about Brazilian culture through the food. However, the food is potentially not worth the price. Many of the items were store bought and few things were actually cooked, I felt it was a bit of false advertising. That being said Roberto was so much fun and overall the experience was very enjoyable which made up for it. We also got to end the hour at a bar with music and drinks that were included that made it super fun as well.
This is a really fun engaging experience and I highly recommend it. Roberto is a real character and his knowledge of his country's food and his enthusiasm is infectious. We had a great group of people who entered into the spirit. We tasted some Brazilian fruits and specialities and even tried our hands at cooking. Going for caipirinhas afterwards was a cool finish. Well worth it.
This was a great experience the host chef was very knowledgeable about the food, culture and local restaurants and conveyed that to the group very effectively. This was a good way to learn and have fun while talking good food a d drinks
This was a wonderful fast paced and educational tasting experience. Our guide, Carina, was great - she explained both the food and the cultural/historical context of all. From fruit to drinks to snacks to meats and desserts, I lost count of how many things we tasted in just two hours. The space is easy to get to and clean, including a bathroom. I highly recommend!
I enjoyed this experience and I learned a lot. Many different foods to taste. I was not disappointed. I recommend this to anyone.
Roberto was FANTASTIC!! He was so full of energy and knowledge. The food was also fantastic. We felt like we experienced the cultural foods very well! Thank you!!
It was delicious and informative, chef Roberto was great at explaining all the dishes. I enjoyed learning all the food that was made from yucca
Roberto was the best guide and was so friendly. He walked us through multiple courses and everything was delicious. Highly recommend checking this out
Super informative and fun! Great way to introduce us to brazillian food! Roberto is great! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
It was a wonderful experience with great food and people! My daughter will be sorry she missed it and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro!
Andre is a Brazilian treasure. A Michelin star chef sharing his personal stories and insights about the ingredients, dishes, regional cuisines and home cooking secrets of Brazil. Great for first time visitors but Andre can go as deep as any seasoned traveler or gourmet needs.
Was very interesting and a great presentation. We really enjoyed our chef. We had a chance to try may different fruits and dishes that were new to us.
Excellent evening all around - lots of fun, education and wonderful food! Highly recommend! A great way to spend an evening!
