Horrible ! We weren’t able to fly due to weather, waited ~ 2 hours in order to receive refund per their policy. Still waiting for refund despite multiple emails. This company is dishonest and cheats its customers. Find another company. Stay away - Please don’t put your life in the hands of scammers.

The hang gliding was very fun!

It wasn’t the most pleasant experience. The guide was RUDE!!! She made my friend totally uncomfortable, after making us wait in ver an hour only to come tell her that she was “too big” to hang glide. We asked her over and over what the weight requirements were and she only stated “I know you are too big”… and honestly she’s not big at all! In the end someone else advised my friend that it was due to the wind that the company was giving guests the “option” to paraglide. That was never given to us and others that were a lot bigger were able to do it! Communication was terrible! And in the end they hassle you to pay for videos and picture that are usually free. Overall the paragliding experience was better! She was able to have her phone and meta sunglasses on. I on the other hand was not and it forced me to spend an unnecessary amount on footage.

Awesome experience! The weather was bad at the time I booked but Nicole was very communicative and helpful in rescheduling. I could tell they value customer time and safety and are dedicated to you having a good experience. I recommend this tour!

Amazing opportunity to go hang gliding. Views were great, guides were very friendly and helpful, very easy to navigate and complete the activity! Overall well worth it

We had this activity booked for 11am and arrived well in time as we were really looking forward to it. We was told a woman called Nicole would see to us after around 40 mins (way after scheduled time). When she finally turned up we were told all the instructors were busy and were told to wait a further 60 mins, we agreed but actually ended up there for 3 hours. She then lied that we cant do it as the winds were too fast but we could see numerous instructors carrying out hand gliding. She offered us to do paragliding instead which I fail to understand how the wind was safe for one but not the other. She asked us to wait again which we did and she never came back and wasted 5 hours of our time. She offered a refund for the deposit we paid but we would have to deal with it ourselves and email as she was too lazy to do so. The auto refund came in without me contacting them so it seems she just didn't want to do her job and also she refused 2 other British couples which she also avoided responsibility for. We did thankfully do this activity after we approached another instructor who had us in the air within 30 mins! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY HER NAME IS NICOLE

Very badly organised. Took over 4 hours to do the flight, with the vast majority of that just waiting around with no updates when asked. Everyone in our group went up and did the flight at different times so we were waiting alone too. Choose another company.

We went hang gliding with Rio Adventures in January 2026, and booked the night before when all of the other companies were already full. Whilst the hang gliding itself was fun and safe, the organisation beforehand was really poor. We arrived at about 8:50 for our 9am booking, and there was one lady (Nicole) who we were told to go and find to arrange our flight. She told us there were delays of about an hour, and that the conditions were not good for hang gliding, that we were too tall/heavy for hang gliding (we are both below 75kg and saw bigger people than us landing regularly), and that we should do paragliding instead. I had read reviews the evening before that mentioned that she had tried to convince others to change their decision with this approach, and so I refused and said we would wait. After talking to the guys at the information desk, we learned that the conditions were actually perfect, and it was just a matter of Rio Adventures overbooking and not having any pilots lined up. Our pilots also confirmed the conditions were perfect. It seems to be the system that all of the pilots are self-employed and the booking agencies pay them to take customers up. We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes after our booking time to get a pilot, even after regularly asking Nicole for updates on our flight, so take note of that if you have any other bookings for the same day. I would recommend going with a different company, even if it means paying more.

The pilot and experience was great. If you are over 75kg you are signing up for paragliding not hang gliding. There is a safety official at the top that double checks the harnesses before you take off which made me feel even more comfortable. My only complaint is that when I bought the video all of a sudden the price switched from Reals to USD. We are in Brazil, why give me the price in USD? Only reason I can think of is because $220 reals for the video sounds reasonable but $220 USD or 1.150 reals is crazy. I would not have bought the video if I knew the price was $220 USD which I only found out when I checked my bank statement.

Amazing experience. Would definitely recommend it. Everything was fine and easy to find. The pilot take you up to the start point and after that you are ready to fly.

The equipment used was in Good Condition My Hangliding instructor Nilton was experienced, made sure I was fully aware of my responsibilities as a co-pilot and made my birthday very special! I booked with a group of 5 people and the process to get our pilots was disorganized and caused a longer delay than expected but all in all I would definitely book with them again. 10/10 Experience!

Try once in your lifetime. Everyone enjoyed it no fear, although someone who was afraid of it when watching others, was nervous before started.

Very wind-dependent. Pilots were very thorough and extremely safety-conscious. They helped with explaining all the steps and getting you prepared to do this in a very professional manner. One video was not transferred properly. Even after a few days, Rick at Rioadventures responded promptly and the same day had arranged for the missing video to be available for download. Would highly recommend them.

It was really easy to book online, instructions were clear about where to go, very organized and safe. It was SO fun! The views of Rio were amazing. A must-do!!

My guide Haneto was easily the most competent man in the takeoff zone, and he had a very fun personality too! The coordinator was very nice and paid great attention to weather conditions. They also had an amazing “360 video” option that I have not seen in my extensive history of travel. Best option by far!!

Everything was absolutely perfect! Booking was super easy, fast and stress free. Ronaldo is extremely kind and clearly made it his top priority to ensure that I felt safe and welcome. He was very helpful when it came to transferring the photo/video files on my phone afterwards as well. Everything went smoothly, from filling out the insurance, to driving to the ramp, to the short safety and training beforehand, and of course the flight itself. Overall a 10/10 experience. The views were amazing. Rio Adventures did a great job of making sure all of my friends and I felt safe. They were very organized and addressed any doubts we had. If you have to chance to go hangliding I highly recommend.

The views were incredible, the staff were friendly, professional and accommodating, and I felt extremely safe throughout the whole process!! it was genuinely one of the best experiences I've had to date, 10000% recommend!

We booked this adventure through our hotel to ensure safe transport and include the video option. The flights themselves were incredible and we highly recommended doing it(Rio is one of the top places in the world to hang glide). Expect a less-organized tour, however. The day was 3 hours longer than expected due to a shared-pilot pool and high tourist volume. Very difficult for English-only speakers and little communication regarding updates or expectations. Some things you should know: Tour is very wind-dependent, so don’t plan a tight schedule around your flight “Larger” guests will not be able to hang glide, but may have to parasail/paraglide instead (still not sure what the max weight/height is though) Extra steps are required for minors, including passport recordkeeping (via WhatsApp) and sign-off from guardian on-site (though the additional cost was included/removed in the overall package price) No guidance was given on basic prep - be sure to use insect repellent (launch site is in the Tijuca Forest), wear comfortable clothes, and recommend close-toed shoes (you do have to run to take off) 10% additional charge for credit cards (hotel confirmed this might include 5% for an informal tourist tax)

It was a great experience. Really recommended. Rio Adventures did a great job scheduling my flight with Ronaldo Asa, A very nice guy, great pilot. I had nothing to worry about. He did an outstanding job with the flight, the pictures and videos.

I went Hang Gliding with Ronaldo F. and had a very good experience. Meeting Ronaldo was easy, and without much wind delay we made it to the launch pad. We had a good flight that, according to my GoPro footage video start to finish, lasted just under 8 minutes. We landed on Pepino beach and Ronaldo was kind enough to take some additional pictures for me with my phone. The experience used two GoPros to film the flight. Apparently the price included footage from one camera and Renaldo told me the other camera footage would cost me R$100.

This was an incredible experience. I flew with Ronaldo, who was a great instructor (and spoke excellent English, which was great news for me as my Portuguese is sadly terrible). The views were incredible and it felt very safe. My travel companion flew with Zero and had "zero" issues -- also a great flight. Would recommend this company to anyone interested in hang gliding in Rio!

The experience was great from the booking till the end. They supported me via WhatsApp with all the information about payment methods and logistics, the pilot waited for us although we were a bit late cause we couldn’t find a working ATM in Rio and he also drove us to a working one at the end. The flight felt really safe and I kindly recommend this company if you want to experience some adrenaline in town!

This was probably my favorite experience during my entire week in Rio. The experience offers an amazing and efficient team with spectacular views all around. They also include photos and a full video within the price.

We had the best experience of our lives!! With a friend we flew with pilot Zero, experienced and very friendly pilot. The experience was amazing, it was the first time for both of us and we had a great time. I totally recommend this agency and activity if you are looking for some thrills. Unfortunately we had booked for the hang glider and when we arrived they told us that we could only do paragliding and it didn't just happen to us "so-called atmospheric pressure problem" while other groups were doing hang gliding with the same weight as mine for me it is false advertising because you are not reimbursed for the shot if you refuse. Luckily JEAN the pilot was top, no one super nice ..I had a great time in the air. The videos include in the pack you have to know that you are the one who holds the go pro so it is not necessarily nice takes....and that is why they offer you at the end their video go pro for BRL 300.
