Very nicely organized day tour of Rio de Janeiro. Good clean SUV. THE PROGRAM WAS EXCELLENT. Our driver was polite and knowledgable and answered all our questions. The choice of lunch place could be improved.

🚫 Total Scam Experience – Do NOT Book This Show! This was one of the worst and most infuriating travel experiences we’ve ever had. We booked tickets for Tuesday, December 23, rushed across the city, and spent almost $150 on taxis to get there on time… only to find the theater completely closed with no show at all. No staff, no sign, no explanation. Absolutely nothing. The operator provided ZERO communication and refused to answer calls or messages. We were left standing outside like fools, wasting precious vacation time and money because of their irresponsibility and complete lack of respect for paying customers. To make it worse, it took a ridiculous amount of effort to finally get a refund through Viator. No apology. No accountability. Just silence. This experience was stressful, disappointing, and downright unacceptable. This operation feels deceptive, unreliable, and totally unprofessional. Save yourself the frustration, the money, and your vacation time – DO NOT BOOK GINGA TROPICAL. Choose literally any other show. This was a nightmare.
The Ginga Show in Rio exceeded all expectations! The dancers were incredible—non-stop energy, showcasing the rich culture and traditions of every region of Brazil through mesmerizing dance movements. You could feel the influence of Brazil’s diverse culture in every step. Even though we (a group of 13 people) were tired from a full day, no one felt like falling asleep; the performance was that captivating! It was a truly spectacular show, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio. A must-see!
Lively, interactive and entertaining. Fantastic costumes! We had a great time. Highly recommend this show.
Spectacular costumes and dances to give a taste of Brazilian culture of the past and present. Well worth watching.
The show is excellent and energetic the tour operator was nice and good. There nothing more to say I enjoyed
The show was fantastic. You see dances from all over Brazil with only the last one being samba. Can take nearly an hour on the bus to get there if you’re the first hotel pickup but still well worth it!
I loved everything. I felt proud of my people and my culture and wanted to share it with my boys. I guess a little playtime with a soccer ball would be nice. I did not know which statue was that.
The show was amazing. Although the organization of it was very poor. The show was overbooked and it was not clear if we could get in.
Horrible. Waited for tour guide to get our tickets. He said we had good tickets. It was Overbooked and we had to sit in plastic chairs. Very uncomfortable.. Some had to sit on steps. Would not let us in as we were in line. Made us wait for larger tour group to enter.? Our tour guide left us alone and did not help us get access. Staff was rude.. Show not professional. Everyone was pushing, yelling and upset. Awful. Want a refund. Would not recommend.
I loved the audience participation! The dance, the rhythm, the culture the drummers were absolutely incredible
We absolutely LOVED this show! Lots of history and culture all wrapped in an hour and a half. Our guide Luis was amazing, he let us know exactly what we saw and we understood what the different parts of Brazil had to offer. Our driver Victor was great as well, and the night was one to remember. We will be back & recommending this show to friends and family that come to Rio!
Viator misled me as to what I had purchased. We did not need the supper especially as in Brasil lunch is the big dinner. Grayline informed the day before that I did not have to and from transporation. I coyld not buy oickup and return theough them . The teatro is in a very dangerous part of Rio for tourist. No taxi stand. My Brazilian friends advisex me as a tourist not to go. I therefore wasred my $ as Viator would not provide a solution.
A great show with regional Brazilian dances and performances, the cast was excellent! The performers and the show as a whole deserve a much better theater, with better acoustics and A/C.
High energy with audience participation. Poor lighting for picture taking. Good show but too expensive overall for what is provided
The capoeira dance, the all different kind of dances and the moment the dancers invited yo dance people with them
There was no pickup so no show. My wife cried. Complain was without success. After long discussion, portal wants to check refund. Better do not book. It is a waist of money and unprofessional treatment which only causes disappointment on a holiday of Rio de Janeiro. Sorry to say so.
The show was very intensive and nice. We had a very wonderful time. And the pick up was very well organized . .
The perfect ending of my two weeks vacation in Rio. This show is a must see when you visit Ruo. High energy from start to finish. The tour guide was very accommodating and looked out for me and the van ride was very comfortable.
About the ride: everything went smoothly. The only thing was that booking said 8PM, then te confirmation said that pick up time is 7:50. It would have been useful to point out that the show starts at 9:30, so not to worry if we make it on time. Ends at 11 with everyone invited on stage. The show is in a small theater in a mall. High energy, quite entertaining. Lots of chance for audience participation, if you don't join in, you miss half the fun
The whole show was high energy and entertaining. The dancers were very engaging and definitely a must while visiting Rio!
Show was lively, colorful and vibrant demonstrating the music culture of Brazil and its different regions
Transportation was reliable but between operator and Viator there is still a confusion. Diner is not offered and Not an option. We expect a partial refund. Not certain why it is still offered. Otherwise show was a lot of fun, well put together and a great variety of performance representing all pets of Brésil. And pick up and drop off very realiable and informative.
Very good Brazilian dance showing many parts of the whole country. Both the musicians and the dancers were excellent!
It was a good show, tour guide knewvery good English.Dances from different part of Brazil and acrobatics were amazing.
Very lively show.....I liked how they invited guests to join the stage at the end of the show to dance. Very fun time!
I loved the show. I had a lots of fun. The dancers very professional and friendly. Our tour guide show up on time to pick us up.
WHAT A INCREDIBLE SHOW!!! They show all of Brazilian culture and dance. So well put, this show NEEDS to be broadway. No spoilers, but all I will say is that interactive and fun!! This was definitely the BEST part of trip to Rio. BOOK early because it WILL sell out!!
The driver came extremely late and was rude I was as canned in the car with strangers This was unprofessional
The show was great; the product was sold with dinner that didn’t happen because the show was moved in a shopping mall theatre.
I would not book this tour, apparently Viator thinks they showed up since they are asking for a review, after waiting 40 minutes we had the hotel call Grayline, the operator. They said they notified Viator about the cancellation. Trying to get a refund now.
Can’t miss this. Performances were energetic and culture-rich. A perfect program for your evening in Rio.
I felt this dinner/show was wall to wall FANTASTIC!!!! Starting with our guide Louis. Im not really sure why it is called a bar b q dinner considering it is sooooo much MORE. Calling the delicious meal a bbq dinner really does not do it justice makes it sounds sticky and cheap. THE MEAL OFFERED WAS FANTASTIC!!!! And DELICIOUS AND THERE WAS NO BBQ. There was so much good food it was almost overwhelming. The restaurant where the meal was offered and served was spectacular .... like formal dinning . There was every type of meat ... ( beef, pork, chicken, prime rib, lamb) brought fresh to your table . There were many exotic dishes, salads, fruits, vegetables, comfort food, deserts and it was all you can eat. After that there was a live BRAZILIAN DANCE SHOW THAT WAS MORE THAN FABULOUS!!! The costumes, the dancing, the singing, the music, it was one of the best live shows ive ever seen. The only bad thing i have to say about it is that for some reason we were not allowed to take pictures of the show and i was pulled on stage and it would hv been nice to have a picture memory of that as well as the other parts of the show. This Dinner / Show IS A MUST SEE. We saw it on day 2 in RIO AND IT WAS GREAT Welcome TO RIO!!!
Great show! The dance troup was terrific and very entertaining. They even teach you how to dance the samba. We were dancing by the time we left the show. I’d go again and again! P.s. Be sure to include dinner with the show.
Dinner was good, not great! Show was high energy. Samba lesson was a lot of fun! Too bad you couldn’t take photos.
We liked the dinner and the show was wonderful, a little bit lengthy. But, overall a great experience.
The BBQ dinner was great, probably the highlight but I believe it would be much cheaper just to go on your own and drinks are not included, not even water. The show was honestly not that great, I saw better performances walking down the street. They don't allow you to take photos and they even have people who walk around with flashlights and scold you like a child if you try. Would not recommend.
Loved the show. Wish we could have taken photos (at least after the show) or videos. I understand the copyright issue. I think photos and videos could help you market your show, so maybe after the performances, photos can be taken with the performers. Just a thought.
Excellent way to get introduced to the local Brazilian culture. You’ll be on your feet with the great local rhythm and songs of this show. Well worth it! Take the dinner option for the BBQ steakhouse which features local cuisine.
Good guide. Food excellent, strong carnie yet veggies too. Show very entertaining and athletic. Good audience participation. As usual lots of time for pick up and drop off. You could easily take a taxi to do further nightlife after show.
The dancers are fantastic, especially the males who provide excellent entertainment with their acrobatics, gymnastics, and the best routine with their marital arts skills. The ladies were also phenomenal and the costumes were artistic and fun. the venue was very small, old, and so the crowd was very small so performers don't get the applause and appreciation they deserve. this show needs to be in Vegas. The venue immediately distracts from the quality ther dancers provide. Some of the choreography was also a little immature. We Did appreciate the bus pickup and dropoff service. Overall, entertaining though.
Your trip to Rio won't be complete without the Ginga Tropical Show. It is absolutely fabulous! You'll want to get up and dance all night long! And you will get a chance to learn some moves and also hop on stage at the end of the show, so go for it, join in the fun, it's totally worth it. It is authentic Brazilian music and dance in its full bloom. There is absolutely nothing I didn't like about it. The theather is small, but it is best that way, so you can look at the performers up close vs. a big stage. The dinner is amazing. You'll be fed and treated like royalty. When I go back to Rio, I'll definitely book this tour again.
On June 1st, we booked a tour through Viator.com with Gray Line Brazil, “Ginga Tropical Show with Transportation and Optional Barbecue Dinner”. We paid total $395 (USD) for 4 persons online and this is a same day booking (within 24 hours). On the website it said “Once your purchase is complete, we will send you complete contact information (phone number, email address, etc.) for our local operator to organize pick-up arrangements” But in the booking confirmation, there’s no detail contact information, except a phone number. We tried to call that phone number many times, but no one picked up the phone. The only option left us was to cancel this trip on Viator.com. Now Gray Line Brazil refused to refund to us, saying cancellation should be made before 24 hours. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, THEY KNOW THERE'S NO 24 HOURS, IT WAS THE SAME DAY BOOKING! They accepted our booking within 24 hours and collected the money, but failed to provide us with enough information allowing us to arrange our own transportation. If this is still an honest business, they should issue a full refund to us, since it is their fault we couldn't go to the show!
All great but commentary or leaflet would be helpful to explain the countless costume changes and dances, instruments and skills shown. It is a non stop event great energy and smiling faces which seems to go on long after you think the show has ended. Audience participation at end but no photos allowed. Dancers and performers are incredibly talented and deserve respect.
Perfect presentation of a pattern of dances and stories across Brazil embedded in a rich variety of choreographies gave us an idea and made us wish we could be here for "Carnival in Rio" !
Organistion was ok, diner so-so , but the show was low level. You should find more quality and I'm sure you could do it in Rio
Great show. Performers were excellent and got the audience involved, the costumes were out of this world. would definitely tell friends about this show.
Everything is excellent. We enjoyed the BBQ dinner. The show was in a small stage but performers were all the first class.
It was what we needed. 20 Year’s of marriage wears on body, mind, soul. Some good some bad. We needed 😍💃🏾🕺🏾☀️🥗🍇🛫. We missed carnival because of snow ❄️. We came later and took in beaches and Ginga Topical. At end of show they grabbed hubby and he ladies danced. Many others joined in. Everyone looks happy!

we waited 1 hour for the bus to pick us up from the meeting point..., a long, tiring dinner. Poor service in the restaurant. Good performance but I would prefer a different trip
