Garganta Do Céu And Waterfall Hike In Pedra Da Gávea

First off let me start off by saying that this was an amazing tour and it wouldn’t have been amazing without my guy Marvin. I have traveled a lot around the world and throughout South America and done tours, but never have I ever experienced a guide like Marvin. He was very knowledgeable not only with the hike, but Brazil as a whole. I’m a pretty athletic guy and this trail was kind of tough but doable for the average person as long as you don’t quit. I stopped a few times to rest and catch my breath and Marvin was so patient making sure I was okay and providing any aid or advice he could to me during the hike. Not only that you could tell by the way he speaks how passionate he was about his job and nature. For my 1st time visiting Rio, I can tell you I learned a lot about Brazil in one day with him then I did my whole life and I have loved Brazil since I was 10. If you’re thinking about booking this trek, why are you still thinking and just book it already. I promise it’s worth it

So we originally had to cancel due to our flight being cancelled. I cancelled the experience at 8am on Monday Feb. 16th, our experience was supposed to start on Feb 17th at 11am. Per trip advisor I would not get a refund bc I did not cancel at least 24 hrs in advance, by my calculations canceling at 8am the day before tb experience should’ve been sufficient enough to get a refund, but we still didn’t get one even after I contacted customer service. So by this point we counted this as a loss, until someone from the company messaged me on my WhatsApp, I explained the situation and they informed me I could reschedule. I said ok, great. I rescheduled for today feb 19th at 8am. I was very happy bc it meant I could do the tour. Well the night before at 9pm I received messages asking if we could reschedule due to the weather to friday feb 20, I explained I would not be able to reschedule for that day and I’d have to cancel if that was the case. Well I never received a confirmation if the tour was canceled due to the weather even though I messaged the company for confirmation. The morning of I 20 min before the tour is supposed to start I get a vaguen message “it is”. Followed by who our tour guide will be. Very confusing communication. I did not show up since no one confirmed if it was still happening due to the weather and I wasn’t going to show up to a forest without confirming the tour was still happening. Anyway save your money or book at your own risk.

The guide didn’t show up, had to go alone

Garganta do Ceú is a must-see in Rio de Janeiro. The experience was life changing! I am not an experienced hiker and found the trail strenuous, but the guide stopped multiple times for breaks and made sure everyone in the group was caught up. They also took great photos of us! We also saw monkeys and toucans briefly. Wish there was also some discussion about the local fauna! Otherwise this is a fantastic experience I highly recommend.

BREATHTAKING!!! The tour guide Catharina was super sweet and attentive to the group and to the environment, pointing out all the different animals she saw. The view was surreal!

Had an amazing experience. Jessie did an excellent job. The views were breathtaking. The trail is intermediate to hard depending on your cardio strength.

My guide was on time, and we got to hiking right away. This was a steeper incline than I’m used to, so I had to take a lot of breaks. My guide was very patient when I needed to rest, and was encouraging me the whole time!

Rodrigo is the best guide ever! The hike to Garganta do Céu was incredible—he has deep knowledge of the area and Rio de Janeiro in general. The 3-4 hour hike was not only beautiful but also filled with great conversation and fascinating insights about RJ. Rodrigo is also an amazing photographer! Even though I’m not super photogenic, he managed to take stunning pictures of me with breathtaking landscapes. He takes his time to get the perfect shot and even checks if you like them, offering to take more if needed. Whenever I return to Rio, I will definitely book more tours with him. Absolutely recommended!

Went solo and had a great time. Ended up with a great group of people and a great guide. We hiked the trail fairly quickly and were able to enjoy the views and take a lot of pictures. Next time I’m in Rio I’ll be back for sure.

Was amazing!!!! The uber ride to the meetup point was super easy and scenic—- there, we could purchase for a very nominal rate backpacks and water and bug repellant and snacks and more —- our guide Ronald made sure we had enough provisions and then we bagan the gorgeous trek upward!!! He took photos for us all along the way which he later uploaded to a drive for us to have as keepsakes!!!! It was a very satisfying climb with the most gorgeous vista at the top!!! U could see hang gliders and rock climbers and all of Rio!!!! Coming down the mountain was an adventure as well—— the tree roots sprawl like jumanji and u hold them like you’re Tarzan!!! Super fun!!! Enjoy!!!

Hiking through the jungle was incredible, our guide Rodrigo was super friendly and caring. He made the hike even more fun and the views were amazing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to do a hike in Rio!

Rodrigo was a great guide, took great photos for us, communicated great and was accommodating to our hiking speed. The hike is enjoyable through the rainforest and Rodrigo had good details about the surroundings. It is a tough but not hard hike, but he made sure we had plenty of breaks on the hike. The parking at the location is very abundant compared to my experiences in Brazil.

This was my second hike with Rodrigo during my stay in Rio and I really recommend booking with his company. It was perfect for me as someone travelling alone - the hike is beautiful, lots of wildlife and amazing views, and Rodgrigo is a great guide. You'll also end up with great pictures! Really recommend it. This hike is steep on the way up but you can take your time. I am glad I ended up choosing to do the hike with a local guide, it made it more fun for me, and Rodrigo gives great recommendations on what else to do in Rio. Wishing him the best, thank you!!!

Super hike up through the forest; rewarded by excellent views at the top. Ronald set just the right pace and was excellent at pointing out wildlife along the way.

This hike was amazing and I’m so glad I did it with Rodrigo! I really enjoyed getting to know him and he took really great pictures of me! The view at the top of the trail is stunning and the hike through the forest was beautiful too- we saw monkeys and lots of pretty butterflies!

This was a very challenging hike for me. Took me 2hrs going up. Rugged terrain with lots of rocks. Ron Beulah is an excellent guide and truly helped to make sure that I got up and down without incident. There were 3 tourists & 1 guide. If you have any major health issues or are out of shape do not do this hike! You need at least 2 liters of water and snacks. It was very rewarding and satisfying to see the monkeys and tropical forests. I’d do it again since I’m aware of the level of difficulty.

I had an amazing time hiking with Vagner and Ricardo. The hike was a bit tough, especially at the end when it got steeper, but the views were definitely worth it. It was one of the most beautiful views I've seen, where nature and real life come together perfectly. The hike was fun and full of jokes, It felt like I'd known the guys for years. We stopped at a waterfall on our way back located deep in the woods, a very relaxing and special experience as well. It was well worth the money! Thank you so much!

the hike with Rodrigo was one of the highlights of our holidays. we climbed through the beautiful forest trail until the top of the mountain. Trilha da Garganta do Céum. You can see monkeys, cliffs, amazing nature, you walk through water streams. a stunning view awaited us up there even though the clouds rarely broke up it was breathtaking. Rodrigo ist Just a really nice and charming person he was a fantastic companion and took tons of great Pictures with us on that awesome trip.

An experience I will never forget! Although it was challenging for me, the views were amazing and I felt so accomplished once I got to the top. I could not have done it with out Rodrigo who helped me along the way and made sure we went at a comfortable pace. 10/10 !!!

This trail was incredible scenic and exhilarating to complete. There multiple points during the ascending trail that offers mind blowing views. Rodrigo is an expert guide who has a knack for enjoyable story telling with his deep love and knowledge of Río de Janeiro. He has the ability to connect with people in a warm snd familiar way. Rodrigo also offers great photos for you with the best vantage points and he offers an option to purchase cinematic drone footage of the experience. This activity is one of the reasons I will never forget my time in Brazil and one of the reasons I will surely return. He is a true professional. If you enjoy being active and outdoors I highly recommend doing this trail with Rodrigo.

My experience with Rodrigo at the trail was amazingly beautiful, we managed to take awesome photos while connecting with nature. We saw a couple water falls, drank refreshing born water from the mountain, looked at beautiful Rio from an excellent view from both sides of the mountain and later on get to Garganta do Céu where the view was even more beautiful and excellent for pics and vids he took. Connecting with nature as well with my host Rodrigo, was a plus. Definitely recommend as a great Tourist guy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing hike with an even better host! Rodrigo is knowledgeable and able to provide interesting facts along the way. The hike is really cool but not one I would take without a guided host or recommend someone to take without one. It’s really cool to see and hear the monkeys along the way and feels like you’re taking a slight tour through the Amazon. You then reach the destination which is an amazing outlook over the Wonderful Amazingly Gorgeous city of Rio. 10/10 recommended

The trail is quite steep, but at its pace it is possible to do. The view is wonderful, super indico, very well worth it. I did with @gentequebtrilha and we had all the support and support.

Rodrigo was a good guide and could tell us a lot about the area. Unfortunately we didn't have a good view because of the clouds at the top. Luckily we were able to see several animals along the way (armadillo, monkeys, sloth) The hike was fun and challenging!

Rodrigo was our guide today. Expert about nature and took beautiful pictures of us and nature that we later received as well. He was especially nice and we were in good hands with him during the tour. It was sometimes a tough climb up but in clear weather you were rewarded with beautiful views and altitudes Until morning

The trail is relatively short, next to the Pedra da Gávea trail, but less demanding. On days of a lot of movement, the classic photo in the throat is in line and we have to have this notion so we don't get angry about waiting time (even because a lot of people don't have notion of time and want to do a full book there). But it's too worth seeing.

The best experience next to my guide Kel, very friendly, can speak Spanish and the view at the end is the best I have seen. The ascent is not very difficult however you must have a certain physical condition

The amazing views, they took very good pictures. The experience you must live at least once in your life. The hardest course I thought but worth the effort.

Rodrigo is simply wonderful, and the trail was quiet. The trail itself is quite rigid but covered, catches very little sun which helps a lot, not to mention that Rodrigo does several parades for water and goes at your pace. So far everything is great, but what about that view???? PEOPLE OF HEAVEN SIMPLESMENT ENCHANTING, EXPLENDID, INCRIBLE, I have no vocabulary to describe. Super recomendo. Make the trail.

Instructor Vagner (Indian partner) was very patient and attentive the whole way with the group The route was super quiet and in the end I still took an incredible waterfall bath 🙌🏻 It was super worth it and I will definitely do more tours with them

The trail lasts around 4 hours in total, with a piece of quite hill but quiet to climb. The view of the throat is very beautiful, worth the trail. The guide was very attentive, and flexible with respect to climate change.

Amazing Guide! Very nice, knows a lot about the park, explained about the flora and fauna, about the city... took care of the environment, collecting garbage that found on the trail... was very cool! He was also very careful with us! Thank you, Bulha!
