Itinerary
Copacabana Beach is the most famous beach in the city (maybe even in the country, or in the world) and is about 4 km long. Among the trademarks is its boardwalk with waves drawn in Portuguese stone, designed by famous brazilian landscaper Burle Max. In Copacabana you will testify why cariocas have such a beautiful tan. While you travel through these neighborhoods, you will hear a few tips on what to do around them and the interesting stories that took place in these streets.
You will pass through the historic Laranjeiras neighborhood, which hosts the Guanabara Palace, the ancient home of Princess Isabel who signed the Golden Law to free all slaves. Nowadays, the Palace is the official headquarters of the government of Rio de Janeiro.
Before reaching downtown you will pass next to the Sambodrome, where the Samba School Parade happens every year.
A comprehensive city tour of downtown area. Take a panoramic tour through historical streets and buildings and get to know stories and curiosities of this prominent area. Get nice perspectives of the traditional Cinelândia Square with its historical buildings, and take a look at the Municipal Theater with its Art Nouveau Architecture.
See from outside and get inside the iconic Metropolitan Cathedral which was built in a pyramidal form with an internal diameter of 96 meters and a height of 80 meters.
You will make your way to Urca through Aterro do Flamengo and its parks, designed by Burle Marx and hear all about Brazil’s participation in World War II as well as the founding of the city back in the late 1500s, just before arriving to Sugar Loaf.
The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill, a vantage point 215 meters high for which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, Flamengo and Botafogo beaches, Santos Dummont Airport, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Urca’s neighborhood and Corcovado Mountain.
A second cable car takes you up to the top. When you get there, you will understand why Rio is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. At 395 meters you’ll enjoy breathtaking views from Copacabana beach, Niterói and the Santa Cruz fortress. From up there, you will have no trouble understanding why Rio is nicknamed “Wonderful City”.
After visiting Sugar Loaf Mountain, you will head down to an all-you-can-eat-style barbecue house. Brazilian Churrascarias (Barbecue places) offer a wide variety of sides and alternative options, in case you decide to stick with a vegetarian option, you will still leave delighted. Lunch is included only if option selected. If selecting an option without lunch, our guide will offer a variety of nearby suggestions that can fit any budget or taste!
Pass through this unique and charming neighborhood.
The beautiful steps done in ceramic by artist Jorge Selarón are one of a kind. You will have about 10 minutes or so to contemplate it .
Pass by the park in a van ride to get to the Corcovado Mountain
Upon arriving at the Statue, you will have two options of reaching the top, by a lift and then an escalator, or the traditional way, by stairs, 222 Steps, but the prize makes it all worthwhile. Once up, the views and the imposing statue will take your mind off the walk up! Looking up you will feel blessed and protected by this beautiful monument of Christ with open arms, now one of the new Seven Wonders of the World! From up there you can see most of the city, all of the south zone and all the way to Niteroi. A unique view that will astound you. You will have about 40 minutes to get to know all the sides and views of Corcovado and take pictures.

This was a great tour with Gabbi. She was energetic, friendly and could confidently present relevant and interesting information on all the relevant sights. She ensured we knew exactly what we are doing and that we all got time to take in the wonderful views. We had a truly magnificent experience.
Great tour Warley our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful he was funny and knew his city vey well. Jason our driver was also a joy. Thank you for making my day special.
Our tour today with Warley was the best tour we have experienced on this South America trip. Excellent English and a great tour guide!
It was amazing. Our guide was Patricia. She was perfect. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed so much. Everything was organized.
We did this tour with Luis and it was great! He speaks English very well, is quite knowledgeable of the area, attentive to his group, clear with instructions and shares amusing stories with the group, even sang for us. Highly recommend!
Outstanding guide Maria, amazing! We were taken care of everything, tour guide Maria explained Rio history and important dates, wonderful!
We had Warley as our guide. He was excellent. He knew so much about the history of Rio. This tour was super well organised and you did so much in one day, yet it didn’t feel rushed. The lunch was absolutely amazing and so generous. I will definitely recommend this trip especially silly Warley as guide.
It was an excellent tour, our guide was very good, Warley made the trip very much more fun. The attractions are something you have to see if you visit Rio, so there's that.
It was a great tour for Rio de Jenario and special thanks to our guide Luis, he is a very kind and good man.
******PLEASE READ******* I would like to start out by saying that I never leave reviews for products or tours. I have travelled extensively and visited well over 30 countries. However, this tour and their set up was so ridiculous, I decided to leave a review. I went off Viators reviews and 10 hours sounded like a solid amount to cover highlights. Interestingly, after I booked, I was talking to the concierge at the hotel and they told me the tour is pretty bad. If you enjoy being hoarded around with a group of 40 some odd folks, this tour will suit your needs. You spend roughly 30-40% of your time waiting and being hoarded around. More time is wasted in the middle of the tour dropping off people that booked the half day tour. Their advertising mentioned a van, however, you will be transported on a huge tourist bus. Our guide, JB was the second worst guide I have ever encountered. The tour program is utterly ridiculous. They drive you to Sugar Loaf, then 1 stop downtown at the church and drive by thru historical downtime, followed by lunch and Christ the Redeemer. Part of the way, they give you headphones with pre-recorded program. Now this would be acceptable if this was a hop on hop off, but this is not advertised as such and certainly pricing does not reflect that. If I was to design a tour that would be the most profitable with least amount of effort, this would be it. If anyone actually bothers to read this, please save your time and money and dont be mislead as I was by Viator.
My experience with Luciana Carvalho was simply spectacular! During the tour, we were guided with an impressive attention and knowledge about every point of the city. Luciana has a unique way of describing the locations, blending history, culture and curiosities, making everything even more engaging. We visit iconic places and also discover less well-known, but equally fascinating areas, thanks to their ability to highlight the beauty and importance of every corner of the city. I strongly recommend this experience to those looking for an enriching and detailed tour. It was unforgettable Flávia campos and André Freitas the PORTUGAS
Beautiful landscapes, attentive guide and speaks several languages, the lunch was sensational, everything great from the start to the end of the Tour!
The tour was excellent! We loved how everything had a very consistent explanation and historical context. The exceptional guide! The best guide I have had in all the tours I have done in my life. Warley, thank you very, very, very much. Too good resin, pleasant, knows a lot about the subject, empathetic and entertaining! SUPER RECOMMENDED.
Warley greatly improved our experience, had places that would not be so cool and he made them better
We did the tour 1 day in Rio with lunch in a churrascaria, in the morning and at lunch all good... Great guide.... In the afternoon they changed the guide and put us on the train (offered by them at lunchtime for a problem with the van) to the corcovado when resuming the train happened an accident to a tourist (a large tree branch took it over his head) this tragedy slowed the return creating an immense line....Moral of the story when we arrived down, not we found neither the guide nor the bus.We waited 1 hour and a half, since maybe he would come back or call us but nothing. Abandoned we had to take a taxi back to the hotel, which with gigantic traffic cost us 96 reais. I warned the hotel on the way back, but we're still waiting for an apology and a refund. 2 adults and a 3-year-old girl MUST NOT LEAVE.
Todo muy organizado. Recomendable para visitar los puntos más importantes de Rio de Janeiro. Amables, puntuales y dispuestos a ayudar.
