We booked the tour for 7.30 a.m. so we could ‘ see the city come alive. ‘ but they changed it to 9 a.m. so it was very ‘alive’ by then. Also as a result of this there were lots of queues at Christ The Redeemer and it was very busy. As it turned out we were actually tagged on to a tour that went to Sugar Loaf mountain after CTR so we had to go there with the rest of the group before we could be taken back to our hotel. We had already done Sugar Loaf Mountain so this was a waste of our time really. However, I would recommend seeing CTR and SLM to anyone. Just awesome.

Itinerary
After the pick-up we will start the tour from Copacabana Beach, one of the most famous beach in the world.
Botafogo is a beachfront neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro. It is a mostly upper middle class and small commerce community, and is located between the hills of Mundo Novo, Dona Marta (which separates it from Laranjeiras) and São João (which separates it from Copacabana).
The official residence of the State Governor
The Tijuca Forest (Portuguese: Floresta da Tijuca) is a tropical rainforest in the city of Rio de Janeiro covering an area of roughly 32 km² (12.4 mi²). The tour will reach Tijuca Forest with a stop at Paineiras to board the official vehicles of the National Park Authority to be able to reach the top of the Corcovado Hill where The Christ The Redeemer Statue is lcoated
From the top of Corcovado Hill you will be able to admire The Christ of the Redeemer statue, which has 38m in height and was made of reinforced concrete clad in a mosaic of thousands of triangular soapstone tiles, and also will have a chance to see some of the most beautiful views of the city.
The Largo do Boticário (Apothecary's Square) is a square in the Cosme Velho neighbourhood of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The area is characterised by large, neo-colonial houses and Atlantic Forest vegetation.
Only in case of poor visibility on the summit of the Corcovado, we will make an alternative stop at Mirante Dona Marta which offers one of the most incredible views of the city, guaranteeing the title of one of the most visited tourist attractions in Rio de Janeiro. From there, you can see the Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Cristo Redentor, the Maracanã, the Guanabara Bay and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.

Driver was friendly and the guide Meilin was very knowledgeable and went beyond to help solo's get the right photo. Thankyou very much.
DO NOT USE if you are on a tight schedule. The tour was organized poorly. Tour was advertised as 3 hrs but it took over 5 hours. Extremely poor communication while we waited for the bus which picked us up 45 minutes late. The bus was another 30 minutes late to pick us up after spending time at the site. The tour also combined multiple activities on a single bus which meant the bus took an out of way detour to stop at another site drop before taking us back to the hotel. Very poorly organized. The tour company Carioca Tropical used by Viator is not responsive to this issue. DO NOT USE.
The whole team were awesome. Our guide Monicawas very knowledgeable and entertaining. Others in the van were continuing on with full day trips and the driver was able to drop me back to my hotel once everyone had been dropped at the next attraction. We got there before crowds got too big.
We had a great trip. It was fun very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide would definitely come back and do it again.
What a wonderful tour guide we had. Full of knowledge and information. Way to go Monica! I would do it again.
Peter was definitely a good time! He kept us on schedule, accommodated me since I was traveling the same day, and still made sure we had a great experience despite the weather not being the best. If it was this good on a bad weather day, I can only imagine how amazing it would be on a perfect one. Thank you again, Peter! 🇧🇷✨
Excellent Tour with Karla and Bruno! We had a fantastic tour in Rio de Janeiro visiting the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer. Karla was an outstanding guide—she explained the sights, history, and viewpoints clearly and made the experience both informative and enjoyable. Her knowledge of Rio and its landmarks really brought the tour to life. Bruno was an excellent driver, always professional, friendly, and most importantly, on time. Transportation was smooth, comfortable, and stress-free throughout the day. Together, Karla and Bruno made this a memorable experience. We highly recommend them to anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro and looking for a well-organized, informative, and enjoyable tour! 5 stars all around! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Really efficient, well run, quite informative and fun. The guide Kiko (actually Hercules!) was full of knowledge and answered questions. The driver, Bruno, navigated the city traffic and then the winding mountain roads with ease. All in all, for a short tour, when you have a busy day planned, this could not have been more perfect.
Have used Viator in the past only problem this time was our tour date was wild wet and windy whilst making our way to Christ the Redeemer in Brazil we saw nothing got wet and very windblown no photos maybe consider calling off a tour when the weather is so bad
Great tour. Our tour guide, Sabina, was excellent. Tour started on time and delivered as advertised. Highly recommend.
Aline is an incredible tour guide she deserves all the praise, very knowledgeable and able to organize and delegate an exceptional tour despite the circumstances of foggy weather
This was a great group tour. Monica was a great communicator and arrivedc on time for our planned day trip to Christ the Redeemer. The vehicle was clean and air conditioned and Monica was bilingual and accommodated the group of 8 in Spanish and English. I would recommend. Thank you for s great day!
Very well organized, trustworthy and fun. Recommend tours organized by Carioca Tropical tour organizers.
It was a nice morning trip to Corcovado! The weather was nice, not super crowded yet. Monica guided and took care of me so well. I enjoyed talking with her in English and also Japanese :-)
Easy and convenient early Tour with friendly and knowledgeable guides. Going early in the morning is clutch.
Voldemort and Karla were our driver and guide today. Thoughtful, well timed tour, clear instructions and time to see everything. Great trip would highly recommend
My husband and I took the half day Redeemer and Sugarloaf tour, and we surely recommend it! We managed the booking and coordinating with ease. The tour company was professional, and the tour was fun and well paced. Our guide, Meilin, was kind, knowledgeable and very helpful. She truly added to our positive experience!
Monica, our excellent guide is knowledgeable and organised in ensuring the tour was very smooth. She is passionate about her job and explained very well. We reached Christ Redeemer at 8am and the sky is clear. She knew the right spots for photos. We also grateful that the tour company able to rearrange the Christ Redeemer tour early morning the next day due to cancellation the day before as a result of heavy rain yesterday evening.
Great tour of Sugar Loaf and Corcovado/Christ the Reedemer. The tour guide was very enthusiastic and very helpful. Excellence!
Karla and Andre were great! So knowledgeable about Rio’s history that helped us not just to see the incredible views but also get to know the history behind of each place.
What an amazing experience travelling up to and visiting the statue of Christ the Redeemer made so much more relevant by the excellent depth of knowledge shared with the group by our guide Monica who was brilliant. Thank you Monica.
Peter and Andrew were amazing tour guides. So much info about Rio packed into a partial day trip to see Christ the Redeemer. They helped find the best photo spots and helped with pictures. I loved that this trip allowed us to skip the crowds. Definitely a tour worth taking! Beautiful experience with excellent guides!
Superb service. Brilliant guide Monica, very professional and knowledgeable. Learnt a lot about Rio. No waiting in long queues. Would highly recommend !
Excellent tour. Gabo was knowledgeable and friendly. Perfect timing as this was a half day tour. Would highly recommend this tour and guide.
The drive up to see Christ the Redeemer was an unexpected bonus. Peter, our guide, was first class. We were a small group, but we gelled well, thanks to his approach. His knowledge was great and his sense of humour entertained us. Would love to come back and do another tour.
We chose this tour for the timing. Getting there early gave us a chance to take some great pics before the crowds arrive. Peter (our guide) and Voldemort (our driver) were superb companions. Met us at our pick up point right on time and provided great service for the duration of the tour. Peter has a great sense of humor and uses it while sharing information on the city and sights. To not visit this Wonder of the Modern World is like visiting Cairo and not visiting the pyramids. It’s a must do in our book and Carioca Tropical made it so easy. We didn’t wait in lines for the cable cars. With Peter we just breezed through like VIPs. He knew the best spots for photography (a big plus for us, personally). I’m sure it’s possible to make your way up the mountain solo, but this tour definitely added value to our visit.
Amazing tour, avoided the crowd. Kiko is a great tour, friendly and knowledgeable. Just book it amazing experience and the views from the christ and the sugar loaf
The Carioca team is amazing. And their tour guide Gabo is very knowledgeable and funny. Someone caring that will make sure you enjoy your trip.
Peter was amazing. Very informative, polite and made sure we were getting the experience we wanted. I would suggest paying the extra for all of the entrance fees. Peter is friendly and knows all of the best spots to stand and get the best pictures. He has a lot of knowledge about places he is speaking about as well as recommendations. I would go on this tour again.
When short on time, this tour is perfect. It leaves early (7am) getting there before the crowds and you are finished by 11am.
Great to get to the top before the crowds with a friendly knowledgeable guide who went out of their way to make our trip memorable and easy
This tour was great. Our tour guide Monica was fantastic, she was always very clear and had lots of interesting information from start to finish. I had tried to go to see Christ the redeemer earlier on in the week but was not able to due to the cloudy weather. I only had one last day in Rio and needed an early tour in order to see it. Thanks to this tour I was able to see it. Thank you to Monica for a great morning tour.
Our tour guide (Carmen) was on time and REALLY knowledgeable and friendly, highly recommend this tour.
I booked the morning Christ the redeemer & Sugar loaf mountain tour, however due to bad weather (heavy mist) we could not see anything. Our tour guide Carmen was amazing, she kept apologising (so sweet!) and made the best out of a bad situation and added on extra cool places to visit downtown (I paid an extra 100R$, since I had not previously booked the whole day tour). I am a solo traveller and wanted to do the the major attractions with a English speaking tour guide and Carmen's English was perfect. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to do activities in Rio de Janeiro the company are great at responding to any messages via email or WhatsApp.
Very good excursion very à very kindly and very professional guide. I so happy to do this trip. The weather is vry shiny and the température not so warm. Thank's you.

This tour is very good. Our guide was great in english, and very nice to talk to as well(Glad she loves the Philippine food I gave her). We were one of the first up there. And by the time we left, there was a crowd. If you want to take pics with Christ with few people as possible, take this tour!

Monica, our polyglot guide, welcomed us with great kindness and took great care of us throughout the duration of the excursion. I highly recommend.
Victoria was great! She immersed us in the history of Rio/ Ria, it was brilliant!
A beautiful tour of the Sugar Loaf and the Christ of Corcovado, passing through several tourist sites. Our very friendly Gabi guide, indicated everything in great detail.
The tour was amazing. Our guide Gabi was excellent, she explained everything to us and made sure our experience was a good one.
Punctual, organized, We took good memories of today's tour with the guide Monica ……………………………. ………….
Monica gave us everything we needed and more to make us feel wonderful. He did not neglect any details, he gave us all his experience, knowledge and kindness to enjoy the tour. Together with Alan, the driver, they form an excellent group. I recommend 100% to enjoy the services. Grateful forever. Jose Luis and Pilar
Excellent spectacular destination 100% recommended is a magical place the Brazilians are very friendly the cariocas excellent people Copacabana, Ipanema barra da tijuca, very nice, aquario, Corcovado, museum of tomorrow spectacular and finally not so expensive has reasonable prices I will do the duty to return spectacular
The tour is very good since for the price it is very good, the guide explains everything with ease and is very complete in historical content, he also answers any more questions you may have and tells you extra information that is very curious, thanks to the guide Gabo and the driver Voldemor (if you are going to see macaques).
Very good guide Peter and great driving by Valdomir. The truth is that the tour was very entertaining and very complete. We had a nice group.
Excellent experience! Sergio a 7 as a guide! very friendly, very good command of English and Spanish. He explained a lot and was very cordial I recommend it 100% I also recommend doing it early in the morning so you don’t find as many people in Christ, as happens at noon.
Wonderful tour, our guide, Sergio was excellent, very good indeed, I recommend others to look for him, note 10 my friend.
Sandra our guide was amazing, patient and lovely. Early admission is real and yet you meet quite a few people when you arrive. But it's much better than meeting the crowds that arrive later.
Beautiful beautiful statue, even better the second time, I went to the opening at 8:00 am opportunity to take pictures without being too embarrassed by the crowd, and I was lucky to have a clear sky, the first time I went one afternoon too many people,
