Once-in-a-lifetime experience. The view was AMAZING. I will definitely take this tour again in the future. Thanks to Mr. Luis Darin, my private tour guide, who was friendly, personable and knowledgeable. He picked me up at my hotel and we had great conversations through the entire car ride and tour. Well done, Mr. Darin. I STRONGLY recommend you book a tour with him. You will not regret it.

Itinerary
Take a van ride through the dense Tijuca Rainforest to get to the Corcovado Mountain, located inside the Tijuca National Park.
Arrive at the visitor's center where you can buy a snack or souvenir before getting inside the other van that will take you to the main entrance of Corcovado Mountain. Catch up fantastic views from up there!
Get to the top of the Corcovado Mountain and view the 38m tall (125ft) Christ Redeemer Statue. Looking up you will feel blessed and protected by this beautiful monument of Christ with open arms, now one of the new Seven Wonders of the World! The guide has between 40 and 50 minutes to show the wonderful sights of Rio. From the top, enjoy the spectacular views of Rio and the surroundings.
Santa Teresa, a neighborhood with a complete different vibe from the rest of Rio. Here, Old Rio comes alive. Santa Teresa is a neighborhood where laid-backness and tradition meet.
The beautiful steps done in ceramic by artist Jorge Selarón are one of a kind. You will have about 10 minutes or so to contemplate it before continue your tour back to your hotel.

This was merely an UBER ride. Our guide gave very little talks, information, she bascially just spoke to the driver. I had to ask her to explain some things about Christ the redeemer. It was booked as English, the other couple spoke only spanish, so she spoke to them most of the time. we were in the van for 1 hour 20 minutes, picking up the other couple, which their hotel was not close, and to Christ.....she talked about 5 minutes, not pointing out anything along the way.
Guide Andrea was excellent and very knowledgeable The visit was busy but he got us there with little hassle
The Christ Redeemer is remarkable. I will take the time to see it everytime I visit Rio. The tour guide was knowledgeable and full of patience to deal with additional people added to the tour. Tour guide was very accommodating and had good people skills to still make the tour enjoyable for everyone.
Greyline offer lovely guides, though not often fluent in the language. Guide would give time to return and people never adhered to it.
We got lucky and had a clear day to really experience the full grandeur of the Redeemer. There are quite a few switchbacks in a car/van to get to the top. So if you have issues with motion sickness this may not be the trip for you.
Very fun! I wish we had more time at each location, the tour felt a bit rushed through but that may have been because of a last minute rescheduling. Other than that, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the places were beautiful!
GRE trip ! Pick up efficient and small party Tour guide great and informative Terrible weather for us at Christ the Redeemer but still great! Steps very busy but still worth a visit ! Would recommend
Great guide! We went on an afternoon tour and missed the morning crowds at both sites, well worth it
Wonderful, adequate and sweet! Starting from Hotel pick up to drop off, providing expert commentary and above all making the entire trip very enjoyable and comfortable. Our guide was top notch! Thank you.
What a fantastic day Gabi was very friendly and knowledgeable…she made our day very memorable. Highly recommend Gabi
Sadly, although our tour guide was super nice, they arrived 45 minutes late to the pickup time. Not only did we not see the other two sights, the communication about us only seeing Christ the redeemer was never even shared with us. Terrible communication and not with it in my opinion. Better off just going yourself since we didn’t even get fast past access into anything
If they cancel half your tour u still pay full price .. not exactly fair . It was carnaval and traffic made it impossible to get to half the trip but u still pay in full . Not fair …
Unfortunately, because it was the Tuesday of Carnaval we did not get to go to the Santa Teresa Neighbourhood or the Selaron steps. I did not see that when I booked the tour. They apologize because they could not go because of all of the traffic and different parades going on that day. I wish I had known that I would’ve booked it for the day after. Otherwise, Christ, the redeemer was a must see. Wonderful tour guide.
Well escorted trip to Christ the Redeemer by bus not tram. Our hotel was in Flamengo which was outside the pick up zone. The tour operator confirmed the nearest pick up point and we made our way there by Uber (and back after the tour). We were informed at the start of the tour we wouldn’t be able to see the Selaron steps due to the congestion due to the carnival - no reduction in tour cost was offered. The queues at the redeemer were short but the viewing areas were quite busy - no cruise ships in today but there were 3 the day before creating long waits.
Great views of the protector of Rio and a nice historical perspective which brings I alive. Would definitely recommend.
The tour was pretty good. It was nice to have an english speaking guide to show us these landmarks. I wish the tour started earlier because the lines were crazy at Christ and the steps were packed. The guide Nicolas was very friendly and gave us amazing recommendations for restaurants and other sights. Book if you're not comfortable exploring without a guide, but if you are comfortable without one, then it is not really worth it.
The guide was fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English. She gave great and detailed information about the history of the country, the city of Rio de Janeiro, and some buildings we passed along the way. The van was air conditioned and great. The Cristo Redentor was packed yet everyone was kind to each other. Take water with you but they sold it 3 for R$20 (about US$4 for 3 bottles). We also went to the Se Laron steps, be ready to walk up the steps (about 140 or so). It was equally packed also.
Great tour guide who made this experience amazing! Highly recommended you consider this company for your time in Rio!
The tour was very well organised and the driver and the tour guide were extremely friendly and helpful ☺️
Our tour guide Gary was the best. He gave so much history about Rio and made it enjoyable . Please, make sure you book your private tour with Gary
Great tour and tour guide would recommend really nice day and good group - nice day out and really flexible
No frills tour that gets you to the steps and Cristo in the most mobility friendly way possible.....
We booked the tour expecting to see the Santa Teresa neighborhood and the Selaron steps. First we waited half an hour past the expected pickup. When we tried contacting the provider GrayLine through Viator’s app chat to see if they were coming, we never received a response. We tried phoning the 2 numbers provided and there was no answer. Finally, the minibus arrived and then we were off to Christ the Redeemer. Along the ride we were then told that we wouldn’t be seeing the Selaron steps or Santa Teresa at all because of carnival happening and it was too busy to get there. That should have been in the tours detail BEFORE we booked which was the day before. We were also expecting a guide up to the statue but as we got there we were told to just go up and meet back at downstairs in an hour. When we got back we had to wait for the minibus to come back and it was hot so we just decided to ditch the minibus ride back which would have stopped at everyone else’s hotels, so we took a taxi back. We could have just bought our tickets and done this tour ourselves and would have been cheaper.
The tour operator did not arrive for my tour. My hotel called them and they had no record of my booking with Viator. They kindly arranged for a new tour starting later in the evening, in an open vehicle without air-conditioning (its what they had available), versus the closed van tour I purchased via Viator. The tour itself was lovely, the guide was excellent, but because it started so late we arrived at the Selaron steps in the DARK and the photos are terrible , you can't see anything. I disputed the charge immediately, before Grey Line even arranged to set up a new tour for us. The tour they offered was 1/2 the price paid to Viator, yet Viator still will not offer a partial refund. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau - STAY AWAY FROM VIATOR.
The tour guide was not informed of the correct itinerary and it was foggy at the Christ the Redeemer Statue. However, he was flexible and he rearranged the sites so we saw everything. The tour guide, Jose, was very good, however the vehicle he was driving left a lot to be desired.
Great view of Rio in only 4 hours! Our guide knew a lot , shared a lot in 3 different languages. Flexibility was also great, because she adopted to the weather..which made the trip ff better.
My son and I were in Rio for a short 3 day visit and we decided to do the Gray Line Tour 1/2 day. The tour guide Luis and the driver Mauricio were wonderful. They made us feel like we were getting a personalized tour. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their jobs. I do recommend you take this tour or a longer one if your time permits.
I went with my friends for this tour and we had a flight to leave at 4:45pm (we had enough time to make it back before leaving to the airport). When we got to Christ the Redeemer it was so foggy that we weren't able to see anything unfortunately. My friends were late, and Ian was still wonderful. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and was able to make the best of our trip despite our circumstances. I would have loved to complete the full day tour, but he accommodated our schedule. We loved him and the tour!
The programme marketed did not correspond to the services actually provided. The planned visits to Selarón and Santa Teresa were not carried out, without any compensation being offered. This breach of contractual commitments is unacceptable and damages customer confidence. Therefore, I can only strongly advise against this site.
That's great! The communication in advance , our guide Helen was even there before the agreed time, in very understandable German she explained many details about our trip , even gave us restaurant tips , the ride was also very pleasant and the sights great
Excellent everything, very nice walk. Great work of Carlos, the guide. Treat us to wonders and explain everything
Highly recommended! You visit all the unmissables and avoid lines. All very well and Gabi very friendly! Comfortable minivan and super good group (there were 12 in total). You must change to official van in Christ the Redeemer. I went with family of big kids. Perfect for first day in Rio and have the overview! Traveller advice: We’d love more time in Sugarloaf to explore the forest quietly, but for this you shouldn’t plan other attractions the same day. Recommended 100%!
We have come on holiday to Brazil from Spain! We really liked the food! Great enriching experience and meeting good people!
Excellent tour, with a qualified guide, with knowledge and willingness to accompany us. Patricia and Artu are two sweethearts.
Excellent attention and service. Warley an idol... Personalized attention. Very friendly and very willing to answer any questions.
The experience became a thousand times better with the guide Warley, managed very well the time, knew a lot about everything, super friendly and attentive. together with the driver Eduardo, made the trip to be very good!
We did two days tour with the guide warley, I can say that the experience was much better with him, improving all the attractions with curiosities, historical facts and his charisma! Great professional and Cover, in addition to making a relentless double with the driver Eduardo!
