Our Guide had so much knowledge and gave us a great history lesson. Showed us a bunch of beautiful overlooks. Highly recommend.

Itinerary
Take a van ride through the dense Tijuca Rainforest to get to the Corcovado Mountain, located inside the Tijuca National Park.
Arrive at the visitor's center where you can buy a snack or souvenir before getting inside the other van that will take you to the main entrance of Corcovado Mountain. Catch up fantastic views from up there!
Get to the top of the Corcovado Mountain and view the 38m tall (125ft) Christ Redeemer Statue. Looking up you will feel blessed and protected by this beautiful monument of Christ with open arms, now one of the new Seven Wonders of the World! The guide has between 40 and 50 minutes to show the wonderful sights of Rio. From the top, enjoy the spectacular views of Rio and the surroundings.
Santa Teresa, a neighborhood with a complete different vibe from the rest of Rio. Here, Old Rio comes alive. Santa Teresa is a neighborhood where laid-backness and tradition meet.
The beautiful steps done in ceramic by artist Jorge Selarón are one of a kind. You will have about 10 minutes or so to contemplate it before continuing on to Sugar Loaf Mountain.
If you have selected the option with cable car tickets, you’ll travel all the way to the top of Sugar Loaf in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill, a vantage point 215 meters high for which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói Bridge and Corcovado Mountain.
A second cable car takes you up to the top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain. At 395 meters we’ll enjoy splendid views of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and several beaches of Niterói. Enjoy this magnificent scenery for about 45 minutes until you have to get back down to catch the van which will bring you back to your hotel. If visiting in the afternoon, prepare yourself for the spectacular sunset from the top of Sugar Loaf.

Great tour. Got to see 3 of the top recognized tourist spots. Bring lunch. Ni designated lunch time until after tour which is a long day to wait to have lunch.
I had a really great experience. The team did their best to ensure we were picked up for a hotel and I really appreciate that. The guide was accommodating, kind and very informative. Our experience was great!
We went during Carnaval so we expected long waits and lines but we were pleased to find out our tour guide got us through the express lanes and we were able to see Sugarloaf and CTR pretty quickly. The tour was informative and a great way to get to know the city. However, our guide was not transparent upfront about not being able to make the other two stop due to heavy traffic and road closures. It wasn't until we asked about those stops on the way home that she mentioned it, and we did not appreciate that.
The guide was great. A clean air conditioned van. My only complaint was that we did not visit all the stops advertised.
We didn’t get to see the Seleron Steps due to crowds from the carnival activities. I lost my phone on one of the buses heading up to the statue
Fab tour leader & driver. Really looked after us. Would recommend advise travellers to take hats/umbrella as limited shade in some queues. Trip was excellent and spectacular. Great value for money for a complete day out.
A great tour of the highlights! I originally planned to do the full day tour with lunch and decided to change to a half day tour. I'm so glad I confirmed this half-day option. This tour included the usual highlights: Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain via cable cars, and Selaron Steps. I wish we had about 10 more minutes at the steps but it was due to a group of selfish tourists ahead of me in line for the section of the steps with the name who decided to do a full photoshoot of about 5 poses per person with different combinations of the 6 people in their group and ignored the pleas of others in the line. It didn't seem like the other tourists in my group wanted the extra time for shopping provided during the Sugarloaf Mountain part of the tour. Perhaps, the guides can ask for general preferences at the beginning of the tour and modify times accordingly. Lucia(Lucy) was a wonderfully kind and patient tour guide and the driver, Marco Antonio, was great, as well. Lucy provided extensive historical information and graciously answered questions from the group all while alternating effortlessly from English to Spanish to Portuguese while maintaining a smile. Book this tour! See the highlights and still have your afternoon free to explore. Tips: 1. Prepare accordingly if you have motion sickness as ascending and descending the mountains can be rough and winding, 2. Get in line for the steps first if you want the part with the name. Then, take pictures in other sections if you have time, 3. See if the location of your country or state's tile is listed online so you know where it is and can take a picture quickly and not waste time looking for it, 4. Don't worry about all the people in your pictures as you can easily remove them with AI like I did😉
Extremely friendly, detailed and professional. Very complete and knowledgeable tour guide and driver. Melanie is just so caring about conducting a very informative, safe and complete comfortable Tour. Clear direction for every meet check points. Ensuring all tour participants are following the schedule. Great ambassador of your Tour Brand. Great local experience, clear content in the 3 languages. Glad I selected the Tour Gray Line Brazil.
Everton and Alex were wonderful hosts. I was the only one in the “group” but they were perfectly accommodating and drove me to Sugar Loaf & Cristo Redentor, taking care of all the tickets and minimizing wait time. Even so we didn’t make it to the Selarón steps, which was my only disappointment with an otherwise marvelous & personal introduction to Rio.
We loved this tour! Just the right amount of time at each stop for us. We stopped at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Selarón Steps, Redeemer and SugarLoaf (no lunch). Our guide Gabi spoke very good English and gave us just enough information about the areas we were driving through and the attractions. She kept everything moving and was very professional. Arturo was our driver and the van was clean and air conditioned. From pick up to drop off was 6 hours….Highly recommend!
Our guide, Louis was incredible! He gave all information in English and Spanish, maneuvered the many crowded places with clear instructions. The tour did run over but it wasn’t a problem for anyone in our group. We ended the day at a Brazilian Steakhouse in Brazil!
0 - Stood me up, waiting for an hour with no correspondence from them to notify me. Wasted my time and ruined my day Do better!
This excursion is a great overview of the top sites in Rio. The views are spectacular! Gabi, our guide, provided translation between English, Spanish, and Portuguese to accommodate all guests in the mini bus. She was very polite and solicitous of the varying guests requirements. Lunch, which was excellent, was included at a traditional Brazilian restaurant with very friendly staff. Only drawback was that the van was too small for not only the size of our group but also anyone over 5'8"
We had expected that the tour company would have organized pre purchase of tickets to the major attractions rather than having us wait in line. The 5 hour tour turned into 8 hours or more with all our waiting. We never did see the famous painted steps in the old city as the whole area was full of many young drunk people and impossible to safely reach the steps.
amazing views. our guide Gabi and our driver were incredibly polite and informative. translated seamlessly between English and Spanish. made site everyone was accounted for
Relied on our hotel concierge to find a tour of all the rio highlights. Street vendors don't have English speaking guides. Grayling has multi lingual guides. We had Gabi, who provided narration in English, Spanish, and Portuguese to accommodate all guests in the mini bus. Outstanding experience. Both mountain tops, the cathedral, the steps, and an end of tour meal at a Brazilian steak house.
Patricia was our tour guide and she did a really nice job with us today. She was very patient as the tour was very long and took up the entire day because of all the crowds and because of the new year. She was able to be patient with us and very helpful and we even went to dinner. We had a lovely birthday dinner! Patricia is a very wonderful tour guide, and I enjoyed spending the day with her.
The trip was amazing because of our spectacular tour guide Ms. Tania (TT)! Her knowledge of the history of the locations was impressive! She presented the information in English, Italian, and Portugués with joy, humor and infectious positive energy! When you sign up for this tour for the attractions, I highly recommend requesting the tour guide who is “Simply The BEST” Tania (TT)!
Very short time at each place visited. Too much time spent picking up guests at each hotel; therefore delaying the start of the tour.
What a fantastic day!! Warley was amazing!! He was very attentive and full of a lot of information. We had Brenda from New York on the tour by herself, and he found it it was her birthday, he ended up getting her a special birthday cup of ice cream and we all sang happy birthday to her. He made sure that he took pictures of all of us. We would recommend Warley to everyone.
Great trip with a great guide, luciana. Very informative, ticked all the big items whilst in Rio and worth going on, if you are travelling to Brazil!
Excellent outing with our super guide Luciano Carvalho.Saw the city in a different perspective and vista. The pass by through Santa Teresa was nostalgic
Amazing views plenty on time allocated for photos. BUT best of all the was our guide WARLEY. He is fluent in English and took time to explain every landmark to every on the bus. We had guests from Chile /Argentina and South africa. So he explained in 3 different launguages. He is really good at he does and a very good photographer also. Lunch was served at the end of the tour.TIP GO HUNGRY Keep up the good work Warley you are trully an assest to Grayline tours
Really great tour! Seeing Christ the Redeemer up close was really cool and our tour guide Patricia was very knowledgeable and nice. The tour was also timed perfectly and didn’t feel like it dragged.
The tour is worthwhile-not just for the convenience of navigating ticket lines and such, but also for the many tips about best place to take a pic, what local treats to try (Açai!!), etc, but also for the fun-THANK YOU TiTi!!!! Btw-the experience was so good, we even booked a city tour the next day-very worthwhile.
We had an awesome time on this tour. Luis our Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and took time to explain each area of the tour.
This was a really enjoyable tour. Took in some utterly mesmerising views at both Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf mountain. The Selaron steps were also included and are well worth a visit. Our guide, Warley, was an absolute superstar. Just a lovely, lovely man. Very funny and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour with this operator to anyone visiting Rio.
My wife and I booked an all-day package tour through our hotel - Corcovado/Christ the Redeemer, Selaron Steps, a brief stop at Maracana Stadium and winding up with Pao de Acucar. A dinner was also included as an option at a Churascaria in Ipanema near my hotel. A long day, but well worth it especially with Luis Wanderley as our guide. He was wonderful. Very impressive how he provided all the background in multiple languages while driving around. By the way, our driver Rogerio (Roger) was also awesome as he navigated the tight streets of Rio. They were both extremely professional and courteous. I strongly recommend Gray Line tours (I had no idea they operated in Brazil) and make sure you ask for Luis. Ciao!
We were able to schedule a tour to see the Christ Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain and Selarón Steps through our hotel in Copacabana. It was very well recommended by the hotel concierge. We schedule for a later, and because we were a large group of 12 people the tour with Gray line Tours was able to personalize it for us. The driver and van were great to go to all the sites, very well maintained, clean and comfortable. Our driver was so nice, attentive and professional. We had the BEST tour guide we could have ever hoped for for! Tania Teixeira or TT was such a pleasant surprise in the tour and Rio. During the whole tour TT talked about Rio's history and landscape, with context, lightness, joy and passion (and also music). It was so much fun!! She was able to guide us in such a brilliant way that not even the clouds and fog were able to stay upon the Crist the Redeemer when we were there. It was a magical day getting to know Rio with our family and friends and to do so with a trustworthy company and guide is the best! Another important factor is that TT knows several languages so she was able to do the tour completely in English and assist in all the steps of the tour, ticketing, timing and logistics. We highly recommend Grayline Tours and TT as a guide for your trip in Rio! The amount of time was very good to visit the 3 locations and super worth it!
We had a fabulous half-day trip in Rio where we visited Christ the Redeemer, the Selaron Steps and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Warley was our welcoming, very informative and humorous guide. He put everyone at ease, was very attentive to our needs and ensured that the whole trip ran smoothly. We could not have asked for a more pleasant excursion. Pauline & Celia
A complete scam. The operator cancelled on us and said we would be refunded. We were never refunded. The operator also canceled at the last min
Leo is one of the best tour guides I've had this far. Very attentive, informative and helpful every step of this tour. Would recommend him to anyone visiting Rio De Janeiro.
We had a horrible experience with Gray Line tours, a guide named Leal, going to Sugar Loaf, the Selaron Steps, and Christ the Redeemer. There were long waits and the tour didn't help avoid them much if at all. The guide did not provide any insights (other than biased beliefs about whether a certain neighborhood was good or not- Copacabana is [profanity], he said) and when ask historical questions (when is this church from?) he had no answers. He picked us up and then we had to wait an hour as all the other participants were picked up from their hotels. At the end of the day, he had promised explicitly to drop us off first, but wound up saying that we would be dropped last because it was more convenient. Since it would have meant we would arrive 2+ hours after expected and miss a family dinner reservation, we wound up getting out of the tour van and taking a cab back to our hotel at additional cost. The guide stopped to talk to a friend he saw on Sugar Loaf mountain - unrelated to our tour- and had all of us sitting and waiting watching him chat away for a good 10+ minutes before I complained and said it was unfair. The guide repeatedly referred to one family on our tour as "the Mexicans" in a manner that my daughter perceived as discriminatory. All in all- this was a bad tour- the kind that makes you never want to take another tour! I very very rarely write bad reviews but I had to say something about this disaster.
Great experience with the tour lady, Patricia, on our half day trip in Rio. She was on time, explained clearly, was polite and pleasant. I would use this tour again!
Great service. Unfortunately the weather was not the greatest but overall well organized. Patricia, our tour guide, was excellent. Well organized and friendly. You can book with peace of mind.
Great company to use which was enhanced by the tour guide Warley and Alan the driver, both very passionate about their jobs, excellent knowledge, good communication and customer relations.
Warley was our Tour Guide who was excellent. He was upbeat with good energy and went out of his way to assist clients at each stop by ensuring we had the best photos. Even when we went to visit the Christ Redeemer the clouds were not in our favour and Warley allowed us to wait until the clouds cleared in order to get good photos of which he assisted each and every one of us. This put the schedule to 1-1/2 hours over the allocated time for the tour. One of the best tour guides we have had. Well done Warley.
This was the perfect way to see three of the main attractions in Rio. Our guide Warley was the most amazing tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our day as smooth and fun as possible. Warley was great at taking photos and making us feel special, and allowed us plenty of time to explore the sites in our own time. This is a truly fantastic day!
The tour guide Warley was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to help make the trip as comfortable as possible. ( I have arthritis in my knees) The views from Christ the Reedemer and Sugar Loaf were truly incredible. The steps were colourful and there was a great atmosphere with a man playing a saxophone. The cathedral was modern and impressive. I would recommend this trip as a must do if you are in Rio!
We got to see a lot of Rio and learn a little of the history. The tour guide was wonderful and took great photos of us. I would highly recommend for anyone that likes history.
Great English speaking guide, took time with each place we visited and kept it fun and entertaining.
My husband & I took this tour on the last day of our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. Our guide, Warley, was super knowledgeable and charismatic. There was about 15 of us, some speaking Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and Warley made sure to share all the information quickly yet thoroughly in all three languages. He also made the stops fun by posing us for pictures and pointing out sights along the way. The timing of the tour was perfect and accurate to the advertised six hours; it was well worth the money to not have to worry about transportation or tickets to anything. Thanks, Warley!!
My husband and I loved this tour. We stayed on Copacabana beach and were picked up at our hotel. We went to Christ the Redeemer first. It was crowded. Next we saw a chapel and the Selaron steps. Again, the steps were crowded. Last we went to Sugar Loaf. It was great having transportation and ticketing coordinated. In several hours we saw some amazing attractions. We skipped the lunch because we are vegetarians. Our tour guide spoke English, Portuguese, and Spanish. I definitely recommend this tour.
Our Tour guide Joe was Amazing!! He was very knowledgeable about all the places he took us. All these these are a must see when visiting Rio.
The guide had a real challenge; 19 pax so that every seat taken in minibus. Therefore, as last pick up we ended up squashed in the middle of the back seat and uncomfortable as air conditioning inadequate. What’s more we could see nothing of the journey. Kristen worked valiantly in 3 languages but impossible to hear properly as others chatted while she spoke in a language other than theirs. We mentioned this about half way through the trip but nothing changed. One guide: 19 guests meant a lot of waiting as she worked hard to pick up stragglers - not her fault as her instructions to us were clear. The tour company is too greedy - one guide to 19 is poor so we felt we had rotten value for money. If you are booking this trip suggest you interrogate Gray Line to establish how many on the excursion or maybe better still find another tour operator.
Warley and driver picked us up from our hotel on time. Warley was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He made sure we were all taken care of and got us back to our hotel on time for our airport shuttle. Would definitely recommend for people who are pressed for time and want to get the main attractions out of the way in six hours. Awesome
EXCELLENT tour! Milene our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. She went all out to meet our needs and requests. Edowardo the driver knew his way around.
A really good little trip round 3 main Rio sights. I'd been here before many years ago so just wanted to see them again. Good length of trip, lovely guide and would recommend.
Great experience overall, the best guide ever, It would be perfect if they shared some snacks during the trip.
