It was a great experience, our tour guide Luiza was very nice and friendly. Her English was really good and we got to see great sports in the rainforest! We loved it :)

I can't speak highly enough of our hike through the Tijuca Forest. My wife and I did a private tour and Vinnie was the absolute best!!! His knowledge was mind blowing, I can't believe how much history he was able to share. We loved the whole experience!!
Excellent tour. Our guide was super nice, and knows a lot of the forest, and the history of Brasil. Totally worth it.
We really enjoyed this hike!It was so amazing that we didn’t even realize how long the hike was.It was so surreal to be in such a beautiful Forrest with a wonderful guide!!! She is very patient and experienced.I was with two teens 13/19.They both enjoyed it!!!
I highly enjoyed our tour through the forest with our very knowledgeable guide Luiza! Thank your for making it such a memorable experience and a highlight of my stay in Rio.
Jungle tour with Tito was absolutely phenominal! Definitely a highlight of our trip. Tito is SO knowledgeable and we learned a ton in addition to a very gorgeous hike. Highly recommend!
I had a wonderful time on the hike in Tijuca Forest lead by Gustavo. He was so informative and I learned so much about the history of Brazil, and the forest itself. I would highly recommend any tour that he leads!
A nice walk through jungle with interesting but of history of the area. Guide was knowledgeable and friendly and spoke very good English.
Amazing tour. Ricardo was our tour guide super friendly, and also spoke multiple languages. If you like nature and arent afraid of a bit of a hike this tour is a must!!!
Ricardo is an amazing guide as was able to provide us with a memorable hike through the Tijuca Forest.
Highly recommended—one of my favourite experiences in Rio. I did this tour as a solo traveler. My guide, Luíza, was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and the Tijuca National Park. The hike was highly enjoyable, with a pleasant length and moderate difficulty. Along the way, I got to see stunning natural scenery including some beautiful waterfalls, as well as historic sites.
Great guide Gustavo , i can tell he loves what he does. The hike was doable but challenging at times but would recommend.
Fantastic experience! Luisa and Gustavo very professional . I really appreciated
We did this tour when in Rio and it was well worth it . Ricardo was a great tour guide he new what he was talking about and gave us information / pointing things out all the way round. Everything went to plan. Nice to see a different part of Rio.
Thank you Riccardo for tej very nice tour.
This tour is one of the best you can take: it’s a truly immersive and captivating experience. Our guide, Vinicius, was excellent and very knowledgeable, always willing to explain everything while sharing his passion for the area and for Brazil. The small group size and the transportation were both excellent. There’s a short hike involved to explore the forest more thoroughly, but it’s well worth it because you get to see monkeys and toucans.
Our hike in Tijuca Forest was stunning! Beautiful plants, wonderful shade on an otherwise very hot day in Rio. Waterfalls were magnificent. We saw a sloth which felt very special, little monkeys swinging from trees, and giant blue butterflies. Ricardo was an amazing guide! He was kind, a very clear communicator, and shared in depth historical and environmental contexts that made our experience not only beautiful but a tremendous learning experience. All of the JungleMe communications leading up to the tour were detailed, accurate and helpful, and meeting up with Ricardo was easy and just as described. Thank you for a memorable day in the forest!
Really good guide Vinny was very prompt & was very informative & enthusiastic. Great intro to the Tijuca national park . We saw a sloth toucan & monkeys too .
A great tour learning about the history of the Tijuca Forest while hiking to some amazing spots. The small group size and our amazing guide, Vinicius, added to the wonderful experience. A great was to spend the morning and a must do in Rio.
We were supposed to be a group of 6, but there ended up just being 2 of us because of the rainy weather. I would suggest you to NOT cancel because it's rainy - the weather was perfect to be traipsing through the rainforest! The cloudy weather kept the temperature in a nice range and the dense tree cover meant we hardly noticed the rain at all. It was a fantastic day. We saw toucans and "Brazilian racoons"! The hike is indeed moderate and there are some short, steep stretches, but we went slow and stopped for breaks frequently. Our tour guide, Ricardo, was knowledgeable and shared a lot of cool information about his experiences and the forest around us. I couldn't have asked for a better day and am happy I didn't let the rain deter my outing!
I was fortunate to have a personal guide and love that they keep the groups small. The guide was very polite and knowledgeable about area and the history.
Perfect! I highly recommend this experience! Riccardo was attentive to us at all times, guiding us in the best way. He has great knowledge and it was one of the best experiences in Rio. Thank you so much!
You must be relatively fit for the steps and the hiking. And you were advised to bring insect repellent, don’t forget it.
I loved it, it was amazing, we not only enjoy the tour around the jungle, but also had the chance to learn a lot about the jungle, the animals, projects, etc. Luiza was the best guide we could have had, she was very nice, has a vast knowledge about the place and its history, she took really beautiful pictures of us, cause she knew the best spots and I strongly believe this tour was the best activity we had in Rio.
This tour was absolutely fantastic. Our guide was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, sharing so much interesting history and context without ever being boring or overwhelming. It felt engaging and relaxed the entire time. I loved getting out of the city and seeing another side of Brazil’s natural beauty — the Tijuca Forest is stunning and such a refreshing contrast to Rio. The hike itself was very manageable: there’s some uphill, but nothing that would scare off anyone with average fitness. And the highlight? Seeing monkeys up close in their natural habitat! That alone made the experience unforgettable. If you’re visiting Rio and want a perfect mix of nature, history, and local insight, this tour is a must. Highly recommend!
We had such a lovely experience on our Tijuca Forest tour. We enjoyed it so much and had a lot of fun throughout the hike. Luiza was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience very enjoyable and memorable for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
We had a wonderful time on the Tijuca Forest tour and were very satisfied with the whole experience. Our guide was extremely kind, professional, and had perfect knowledge of the area, nature, and local history. Everything was well organized, relaxed, and enjoyable. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Rio and looking for an authentic and memorable experience!
I really enjoyed our hike in the Tijuca forest! The nature is stunning and it was really worth it! It is very useful to go with a guide, as it can be a bit hard to find the trail on your own in certain places, and Riccardo was very nice and thoughtful, giving the group a lot of anectdotes, history bits and observations of fauna and flora. Th agency is aqs convenient as they can be regarding drop-in/drop-out locations, which I appreciated.
My friend and I did this tour in September and it was absolutely worth it! Nice to see a different side of Rio, and not something I would have felt comfortable doing without a tour. It was a good hike with stunning views, and our guide Tito was super friendly and helpful with information about the forest and also a little bit about the history of Brazil. I would recommend this for small groups as well as solo travelers.
Beautiful trekking through the Tijuca NP, where you can share nice moments, learn about Brazil history as well as its Nature. Experience driven by Gustavo, the best tour guide :-) Check my picture and try to find the frog ;-)
Absolutely amazing tour! Pietro and Daniel were amazing guides. They picked up our large group at our hotel right on time. They stopped for bug spray and water. The trip started with an excellent history lesson on Brazil and the forest. The walk was perfectly calibrated for our large group and varying abilities. Everything went perfectly and as advertised. Anna worked with us prior to pick the right tour. I cannot recommend a tour more highly than Jungle Me. While the Tiuca Forest's trails are well marked and easy enough to follow, it made a huge difference for our group to not hassle with renting cars to get there from Copacabana or dealing with navigation, driving, or figuring it out. Jungle Me took care of everything allowing us to focus on enjoying the tour and spending quality time as a family. What a treat!
This experience was great! Highly recommend! Thanks to Luiza, we mixed history and nature, family-friendly hiking... all well organised!
What a fantastic trip we had in the urban forest of Rio de Janeiro. Luiza was a fantastic tour guide, a consummate professional, full of historical and cultural insights and fascinating information throughout the trip. She worked hard to keep the whole group together, and interested in all the material she had to offer. We hiked to the largest grotto in Rio de Janeiro, and she took the most amazing pictures of all the group members. Anybody visiting Rio de Janeiro must include this urban jungle, one day tour, and specifically request Luiza as the guide if they want to have an experience, they will never forget.
I went on the medium difficulty Tijuca rainforest hike with Jungle Me and had a really special experience. The collection from my hotel was prompt and the drive to the start of the hike was interesting/beautiful. My guide was Luiza who was extremely personable and provided me with a valuable Brazilian history lesson before we started the hike, and provided a lot of interesting information and was a great companion throughout the hike. The actual hike was great- beautiful scenery and just enough difficulty to make it challenging (but not toooo challenging!). The route was also good because we didn’t come across many other hikers, which made it feel like we had the forest to ourselves. Would definitely recommend for an informative and scenic visit to Tijuca!
The activity is quite good and relaxing. A bit hard at the beginning but anyone can do it. Pietro is a fantastic guide, who knows a lot of geography, history and everything that you may ask him about the place.
A very nice well organised professional tour with our multilingual guide Pietro. Without doubt this hiking tour in the forest was the highlight of our time in Rio de Janiero, as you get back to nature and away from the overcrowded “selfie tourism” of the main sites in the city.
Superb hiking tour through the forest with our excellent guide Pietro. Very passionate about nature, the forrest and a fountain of valuable information. After the over touristed sites of Christ the Redeemer and Seralon Steps, this was a beautiful, peaceful full morning walk in fresh air and nature without ridiculous crowds just wanting to take selfies.
On Oktober 4 the two of us made a very interesting 3,5km hike through the Tijuca Forest. Maybe al little less 'jungle' and a little more 'urban' than we may have expected, but nevertheless an impressive forest with nice and fairly easy trails. Unbelievable that all this was reforested just 150 years ago after a period of 100 years of extensive coffee plantations. And unbelievably close to the city of Rio! The spiders and bats couldn't be found, but our very nice, professional and knowledgeable guide Vini(cius) showed us plenty of beautiful plants, animals, views and interesting places. And gave us a very insightful and memorable history lesson 'on the go'. In the end he recommended us a visit to the Open Art Festival in Santa Teresa. Loved it!
Had a wonderful day with Thiago. Not only were we exposed to the beauty of the area, but we had an opportunity to connect with individuals supporting the reintroduction of wildlife (birds, monkeys) into the park. The history lesson and information shared by Thiago throughout was incredible. So fun, and a highlight of the vacation to Rio. Highly recommend! And if you get to cool off in a waterfall, even better! THANK YOU!
I guess the clue is in the word RAINforest. Henry made the best of a damp tour with interesting insights about the flora and fauna in Tijuca forest. Along with broader tips about Rio he kept our spirits up along the squelchy tracks. An amazing forest of and a reminder of prehistoric landscapes with giant ferns and unusual trees and vines. A proper trek and not just a sightseeing visit .
An incredible and amazing experience! We had a great time with our guide Renata who took us to a hike through the Tijuca Forest. She is passionate about her job and gave us detailed information about the history of Brazil, flora and fauna. The hike, transportation and communication were very good. Thanks again and we won't hesitate to recommend!
Our family had the best time with Tito on our rainforest hike! It was a beautiful experience and he was an outstanding guide, friendly and deeply informative both in terms of the natural environment and Brazilian history. Our kids (age 11 and 8) who particularly enjoyed our run-ins with monkeys and a sloth, both called this out as the highlight of our trip and specifically asked to "shout out Tito" for how he was able to engage them as well as the grownups. 5+ stars!
Hiking Tijuca Forest with Luiza was unforgettable! She’s warm, knowledgeable, and made the trail come alive with stories about nature and history. Beautiful views, hidden spots, and a fun, friendly guide - highly recommended!
We had a great hike with Tito and his one page history lesson at the start was super. Really helped us to place everything in our minds at the start.
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the tour! Our guide Riccardo was the best, he was kind and provided us with a knowledgeable tour of the Tijuca forest! After picking us up at the desired location, we drove to our starting point, which took about 30min. During the ride, he already provided us with some interesting facts about Rio and the forest. Our first stop was a gorgeous waterfall and then we parked our car at the starting point and began our hike. We got to experience the beautiful nature and animal life, we visited a cave, bathed in a waterfall, it was a truly amazing experience, would definitely recommend!
Our hike in the Tijuca Forest with Jungle Me was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Rio! 🌿 Luiza was an amazing guide – super friendly, full of energy, and very knowledgeable. She not only showed us the beauty of the forest but also gave us fascinating insights into the history, nature and culture of Rio. We felt safe and well taken care of the whole time, and at the same time it was a lot of fun. Everything was perfectly organized, from the communication before the tour to the pick-up and the hike itself. We especially appreciated the personal atmosphere – it never felt like a “tourist tour,” but more like discovering Rio with a good friend. If you want to experience Rio beyond the beaches and city life, we can 100% recommend Jungle Me and Luiza. Thank you so much for this unforgettable adventure! 🙏✨
Great adventure. Good communication and great tour guide. Would book again. Thanks! Tito was great and very knowledgeable.
We enjoyed the Hike to the Tijuca Forest a lot, Our guide Luiza showed us around and also was very informative. It was a great daytrip.
Guide collected us on time and drive to the forest . We did a 3 hour trek . Tenants was a very good guide with excellent English . Very knowledgeable about the forest and Brazil . Renata was also a skilled photography and eager for us to get the best shots. For sone reason I cannot add photos !!
Perfect half-day hike to do whilst visiting Rio! Our guide Ricardo made the hike unforgettable, despite some heavy rain, and the limited amount of animals we spotted as they did not want to come out in the rain. With such great knowledge of Rio and Tijuca, we learnt a lot about the forrest as well as the history of Rio. Would definitely recommend this half-day hike!
