5-hour Rio's Essential Sights: Private Tour – Optional Airport & Port Pick-ups

Having been on many excursions this one was by far the worst. They drive you around the island making stops where you can have a tiny sample of chocolate, wine, rum, and rum cake....to get you to buy more of it! The only historical site was the queen's stair case! Fort was closed! We felt rushed at all slightly historical sits and given longer at stops with shops; which is not why we went! The only food offered you was at their choosen locations and you had to pay extra. For what we paid for the excursion we should have been offered a lunch or at least water!

Tatiana was by far the best guide we have ever toured with. She was knowledgeable and very friendly. She worked hard to make our time together outstanding. Prior to our tour she was in touch with details and clear instructions as to where to meet and what we would do . She is obviously well known and respected by other guides in the area and managed to move us quickly and efficiently through long lines . If you are in Rio book a tour with Tatiana I assure you it would be an amazing experience.

This was an amazing way of seeing Rio in a short time. Our driver/guide, Pedro, was excellent. He arrived st our hotel on time despite the heavy traffic all around the city and asked us what we wanted to see. As both Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain were covered by very low cloud he suggested that we should start the trip in the National Park snd then see whether the weather improved during the afternoon. That was a really good suggestion and on our way to the NP he provided a lot of background information about the city, the region and the country of Brazil. Despite no improvement in the weather the rest of the tour ensured that we saw all the other main attractions of Rio. The beaches, the steps, the cathedral, the historic trams and the different types of architecture which had evolved over the years. Towards the end of the trip we stopped for coffee and chatted about our day and then he had one final surprise for us, an evening drive along the coast passing some favelas as the locals were arriving back home. Pedro started the tour as our guide and ended it as a friend! We thoroughly recommend him if you are in Rio!

This tour was WONDERFUL!! Our guide Sergio was extremely informative, and helpful to the point of installing us comfortably in an airport lounge when we got to the airport. hours before we could check in for our flight. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Camila and our guide Mattaus are wonderful people who are proud cariocas and who are so warm and friendly that they put us at ease immediately. They were so accomodating even though we opted for an early tour. Camilas knowledge on everything in rio is awesome. She is such a character and we enjoyed her commentary immensely. Mattaus is a great driver and was always on point to bring us from point to point. All in all a wonderful tour and a wonderful day in Rio!

Had a tour scheduled through the cruise line that they cancelled. Within 2 days I was paired with David who picked me up from the cruise terminal and took me on a customized adventure. Highly recommend! And the botanical gardens are awesome!

Our guide, Fabio, and his driver were outstanding. They customized the tour to suit our needs and schedule. They were professional, polite and accommodating. Fábio was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. He masterfully maneuvered us through the crowds - especially at Christ the Redeemer- saving us time and allowing us to see much more. He also went above and beyond by coming into the airport with us and helping us get checked in early. The tour was one of the highlights of our trips. If we are ever back in Rio we’ll be asking for Fábio!

Our guide, Fabio, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. He took excellent care of us, ensuring we saw everything we could in the time allocated. He was masterful in getting us through the crowds. He went above and beyond by coming into the airport with us and ensuring we were checked in for our flight. Our driver was exceptional as well. If we ever make it back to Rio, we will be requesting Fabio for another tour.

Madu, Camila, and Junior are great people. My flight was significantly delayed and I only had less than 24 hours in Rio. They were very nice and flexible to accommodate my changed flight and re-arranged the whole tour to start on 7am on a Sunday. They are also result-oriented and made things happen for me however I want it. I’m really grateful and appreciate the accommodation!! I had the chance to see Christ Redeemer, Sugarloaf, the beaches, the stairs, and a few other interesting places within 5 hour. Thank you so much!! Rio was impressive. This is a great way to see the main highlights and skip the long lines for entrance…must are perk! Antonio was a great guide, very knowledgeable, knowing how to make the most of our time together.

The excursion today included some of the more traditional sites that most visitors see in Rio including Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf mountain. Camila took us through to both of the previously named sites and in addition we went through a number of the various neighborhoods in Rio. We were also able to see some unique views of Christ the Redeemer statue that are slightly off the beaten path. The feeling at the base of the statue is something that is hard to put into words. The energy at the precipice is palpable. Again, Camila has a wealth of information and was able to share tons of useful historical data. She was able to paint the picture of Brazil’s history from the imperial period through modern times and tied that into how and when the statue was constructed. This excursion was well worth the time and I would highly recommend it.

Was a great tour with Alex Feliciano! I only have 6 hrs in between after landed and before next stop, he made a good plan for me to explore rio! He explained a lots of history and fun facts of touristy spots, took a good pics for me. It was a great experience with this tour.!

Despite travel difficulties, expensive airline tickets, and the complexities of the Corona pandemic My friends and I decided to travel to Rio de Janeiro ... after we heard that the vaccination against covid-19 is ready and that the general vaccination campaign will start We arrived at the Rio international airport (GIG) and our tour guide Camila Feher greeted us with all her elegance and wide smile saying welcome. I am very happy today to meet you for two reasons. The first one is because I will work with you today after a long break because of covid-19 And the second reason is your group is an important sign for us that tourism will return back to life and will win the war against this pandemic...and that I will never lose my job that I love .as tour guide never ever .... The words of Camilla Feher, our tour guide on that day, were very very impressive... On our way to the hotel in Copacabana, we passed a road parallel to the ocean and we saw wonderful views, quiet beaches, beautiful colors, and clear sky.... Camila described to us precisely everything we saw and reviewed the history of each region or monument we passed by, such as the local airport Santos Dumont , the yacht harbor In Gloria, the beautiful beach of Flamingo, opposite the famous Sugarloaf Mountain to BotaFogo, and on our right at the top of the Corcovado Mountain, the statue of Christ spread his hands towards us ... We felt as if he was welcoming us and protecting us .... He made us feel really safe .. The next day was really an excellent tourist day especially since we were very lucky first because Camilla Feher was our tour guide and secondly that the weather was wonderful and at the end of our day we visited the statue of Christ the Redeemer and prayed in its chapel located under the feet of the statue. We prayed for the protection of this beautiful country and for the protection of all humanity. From this deadly epidemic... Thank you Brazil.... Thank you Rio de Janeiro.... Great experience! We had a longer stay in Rio until our connecting flight and wanted to make good use of this time. Our tour guide Monika and driver have already been waiting for us at the airport. During the tour she was able to impart a lot of knowledge, she really knows great, speaks great German and has always responded to our wishes. We had a great time!

The day before the tour we received another message on our mobile phone from Gregtur Tourism Rio and from our guide Ulysses Brum with a picture of the pick-up point near the exit of the cruise port in Rio. Because we disembarked, we had two suitcases and a trolley with us that could go in the trunk of the spacious car. We had given notice of this in advance. The guide spoke perfect english, told us a lot about Rio and took us through the route. We went to Christ the Redeemer, we were escorted along the rows and after a few minutes we went up with the cog railway. The last part with elevator and escalator, we arrived relaxed at the foot of this huge statue. The distant view is phenomenal. Then we visited the Escadaria Selarón, the colored tile staircase. We also had a stop at the Copacabana Beach. After the beautiful tour with many interesting locations, we made a terafsluit stop at the special St Sebastian Cathedral. For us a successful day, we saw what we wanted to see. At the end we were dropped off at the airport with a satisfied feeling thanks to our guide Ulysses Brum and Gregtur Tourism Rio. R&A

Rio de Janeiro essentiële bezienswaardigheden 5 uur prive tour (geboekt bij Viator). De dag vóór de tour ontvingen we op onze mobiele telefoon nogmaals een bericht van Gregtur Tourism Rio en van onze gids Ulysses Brum met daarbij een foto van het oppikpunt nabij de uitgang van de cruiseport. De Big graffity op de foto tegenover de uitgang was onmiskenbaar te herkennen. Omdat Rio het eindpunt van onze cruise was, hadden we twee koffers en een trolley bij ons, deze konden probleemloos met de tour mee in de kofferbak van de ruime auto. We hadden hier van te voren wel melding van gemaakt bij Grgtur Tourism en het bleek geen probleem. De gids sprak perfect Engels en vertelde veel interessante informatie over het land en de plaats Rio en nam de route door Rio met ons door. De rit door de stad ging o.a. langs Boulevard Olimpico richting Corcovado - Christ the Redeemer het beeld Christus de Verlosser. We werden langs de rijen met wachtende toeristen geloodst om enkele minuten later met een tandradbaan de berg op gaan. Het laatste stukje met een lift en een roltrap, erg ontspannend, we kwamen relaxt aan bij de voet van dit enorme Christus beeld. Daar maakte de gids nog een paar foto’s van ons met het beeld op de achtergrond en spraken we een tijd en punt waar we elkaar weer zouden ontmoeten. We hadden geluk me het weer, geen mist en droog weer. Het verre uitzicht was fenomenaal. Ook brachten we onder meer een bezoek aan de Escadaria Selarón, de gekleurde tegeltjes trap, en hadden we een stop bij de Copacabana Beach. Na de prachtig tour door Rio waar we veel interessante locaties hebben bezocht gingen we ter afsluiting, nog een extra stop maken bij de bijzondere Sint-Sebastiaankathedraal. Voor ons was het een hele geslaagde dag. we hebben we gezien wat we graag wilden zien. We werden bij de luchthaven afgezet met een voldaan gevoel dankzij onze gids Ulysses Brum en Gregtur Tourism Rio. R & A

Wir wurden am Flughafen gleich geholt und danach fünf Stunden mit einem Auto, nur für uns zwei, und einem Reiseleiter über die Stadt gefahren. Dabei wurde es stets auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen, wichtige Tips gegeben. Sehr nette, informative und hilfsbereite Reiseführerin Monika. Die uns auch nach der Führung im Flughafen Tips für weiter Reise gemacht hat. Ist absolut empfehlenswert und wir bedanken uns herzlich.
