Our guide, Vitor Rezende, was fantastic. He worked with us to create a custom tour that allowed us to see all of the major attractions in Rio plus explore places off the usual tourist paths. Highly recommend Vitor if you want to spend a day in Rio.

Itinerary
You'll be met at your hotel by your private guide and head to the base of Corcovado Mountain by car, passing by Rio's beaches and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon on the way.
Reaching the Cosme Velho district, you'll take a unique Swiss cogwheel train that climbs the mountain from its base to nearly the summit. The very top is reached by climbing a flight of stairs to arrive at the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue. The view, from this vantage point, with the surrounding Tijuca National Forest spreading below and a circle of mountains closing the horizon at the very back of the Guanabara bay is truly spectacular. After some time to walk around and take photos, we make the way back down.
We then head towards to the bohemian Santa Teresa neighborhood, home to a collection of local boutiques and galleries. The charming area of Santa Teresa also features many trendy bars and restaurants offering several options of snacks and dishes, not to mention its breathtaking views. Don’t miss out on it!
From Santa Teresa to Lapa, there is the famous Selaron steps, a stairway decorated with colorful tiles. Known for its energetic bohemian vibe, “Lapa” is the most buzzing area in town day and nighttime.
Have you ever heard of the Lapa neighborhood? If not, it should! It's very easy to know that you've arrived in Lapa. There is a famous monument that is the official image of Lapa, the large white arches aqueduct postcard of Rio.
Walk through Rio’s downtown through some of the coolest touristic areas catching sights and culture until Mauá square. The walk passes by historic attractions, lots of bars and restaurants, arriving at Mauá square where all tribes and people get together.
See a different side of Rio in its up-and-coming Porto Maravilha area symbol of the renewed Rio after the Olympics.
Mural painted by Eduardo Kobra listed by the Guinness Book of Records as the largest graffiti in the world.
Admire the gorgeous cutting-edge museum structure, designed by famous architect Santiago Calatrava.
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro stands out among the buildings in the Center of the city. Its unique architecture catches the attention of everyone passing by and surprises those who visit it! Its appearance and history are unconventional and make it one of the most curious spots in the wonderful city!
The Sambodrome is the home to the Rio Carnival, where the parades take place during three nights every year, a concrete structure built specifically for the Carnival. It's an avenue with bleachers on both sides divided into sectors.
Beautiful building and preserved architecture. It's one of the most important Brazilian theaters.
The most important Brazilian football temple. Scenery of important Brazilian football classic and facts, like hosting the final matches for the 1950 and 2014 football World Cup and the Olympics final football match in 2014.
Beach that inspired the composition of the famous song "Ipanema Girl”. Beautiful beach that deserves all the fame and admiration.
We will then go up the Sugarloaf Mountain. A series of two cable cars will take you to the top of Sugar Loaf. At the top, again some of the most breathtaking views of Rio, this time from a different vantage point than at Corcovado. After that, tourists may want to enjoy lunch at a very nice “all-you-can-eat buffet” steakhouse restaurant (not included).
Pass by Copacabana beach that was inspiration of songs and poetry, and one of the most famous postcards in Brazil. Copacabana is also stage of one of the biggest New Year's Eve in the world, the neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro has a lot of history, cultural life and bohemia.

Private touring the only way to go, with a guide who knows how to adjust to your request. Edwardo was the best. Be prepared for a good education.
We came to Rio for Carnival 2026 — just me and my 19-year-old son — and having Marcio Briggs from Greg Tour with us made the whole trip something we’ll never forget. Rio during Carnival is intense, wild, beautiful, a little crazy… and Marcio just made it all feel easy. He didn’t feel like a “guide.” He felt like a friend who happens to know absolutely everything about the city. The history, the culture, the real-life stories, the things locals think but don’t say out loud — he shared all of it in a way that was fun and natural. And somehow… everywhere we went, doors opened. We were welcomed with smiles. Things flowed. It just worked. He knows people, and people clearly like him. As a dad traveling with my son, what meant the most was how safe and comfortable we felt the entire time. Marcio was calm, attentive, always one step ahead without ever making it feel controlled or rigid. He just took care of us. He read the vibe perfectly — when to explain, when to move, when to let us just stand there and take in the magic of Rio. This trip gave my son and me memories we’ll talk about for the rest of our lives. And Marcio is a huge reason why. Thank you, Marcio — for your kindness, your care, your energy, and your big heart. Rio is special… but you made it unforgettable.
Vitor was an amazing guide who took us around the sights and giving really good information. His knowledge was so great. I would thoroughly recommend him and the tour.
This 10-hour private tour of Rio was absolutely incredible and it was all thanks to the amazing guide Camila. She is exceptionally knowledgeable, full of enthusiasm, and truly passionate about her city. Her energy was contagious and she genuinely made me fall in love with Rio. The entire day was perfectly organized and timed. Every stop was carefully planned so we could enjoy the sights without heavy crowds, which made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxed. We have covered most of the sights and I have been treated to real gastronomical delights too! The car was comfortable and the driver very polite and helpful, making the long day feel effortless. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to explore Rio. This tour exceeded all expectations, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. A truly five-star experience!
My daughter and I spent 5 days in Rio de Janeiro, which we loved Our travel Agent had organised a 10 hour private tour via Rio Caroca Tour Ltd. We were picked up and dropped off from our hotel on Copacabana beach. The driver (sorry cannot remember her name) was brilliant. A fantastic driver knew the areas and we both felt very comfortable with her driving skills. A lovely lady and very friendly. Our tour guide (Camila) was also brilliant, seemed to have a good rapport with tour site, vendors and was very knowledgeable is Rio’s past and present. The day was beautiful which made it extra special. We explored both tourist spots and local areas, which we believe shows the real Rio de Janeiro. We visited so many places including Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana Beach, Santa Teresa, the Cathedral of Saint Sebastia, Boulevard Olimpico and Selaron Steps We highly recommend to tour
This was a great overview of the city. Our tour guide helped us navigate lines and had a thorough knowledge of the city’s history.
We opted for a private 10-hour tour because we wanted to see as much as we could in the limited time we had. Rio is a very big city with a lot of traffic and moving from one place to another might be challenging and time-wasting. I can say this was a very good choice. The tour was very well organised (excellent contacts with the organizers and prior to our arrival I received a whatsapp message with the details of our guide). Our guide Camila and our driver Sergio picked us up at our hotel in Lapa and showed us all day around the city. Camila was super professional, she explained a lot of things and curiosities about Rio and we managed to see all we wished. In addition to this, she is a very nice and cheerful person and this made our day both interesting and amusing. Thank you! Thanks also to our patient and nice driver Sergio who often drove in Rio's traffic jams while we were visiting a place and then managed to pick us up again near the place we had just visited. I can say they have been a fantastic duo :) I highly recommend the tour!
We took the tour with Gustavo. He really made it a fantastic experience! He kept the day to a great pace and was super informative. He was also very flexible, moving things around so that we could see Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf in the afternoon when the weather had cleared up. Overall great day with Gustavo!
Our 10-hour private car tour of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was an extraordinary experience, thanks to our exceptional driver, Junior, and our knowledgeable guide, Camila. Despite the relentless rain, this tour exceeded all my expectations. Junior, our driver, was a standout star. His promptness in picking us up and dropping us off right at the entrances of various attractions was incredibly convenient, especially given the inclement weather. His driving was safe and efficient, navigating Rio's bustling streets with ease. Junior’s sense of humor was a delightful bonus, adding a lighthearted touch to our day. Camila, our guide, was a fountain of knowledge. Her insights into the history of Ipanema, Copacabana, and other iconic Rio locales were both educational and engaging. Her expertise shone through as she narrated the rich tapestry of Rio's past and present. The rain could have been a dampener, but Camila skillfully adjusted our itinerary, ensuring we missed nothing. Her ability to secure VIP entrances to all venues was nothing short of miraculous, allowing us to bypass very long queues, a perk that can’t be overstated. A highlight was our visit to the Christ the Redeemer statue. Just as the clouds parted, Camila and Junior navigated us there, turning a potentially missed opportunity into a breathtaking experience. Furthermore, Camila's assistance in upgrading our Carnival tickets was invaluable. She not only escorted us to the ticket office but also facilitated the transaction, ensuring we were not taken advantage of. This level of service was both unexpected and deeply appreciated. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this tour enough. If you're planning a trip to Rio and want an unforgettable experience, look no further. Junior and Camila will ensure your adventure in Rio is as exciting and seamless as ours was. Whether rain or shine, they’ve got you covered!
We had a wonderful day exploring Rio with Camila. From Sugar Loaf to Christ The Redeemer, Santa Teresa to the historic sights of downtown, we had a total immersion in the culture and history of Rio. Camila clearly loves what she does, which meant we had a first class tour tailored to the key sights we wanted to see. We also got to taste some great food and coffee along the way. A lovely day with a friendly, funny and informative tour guide and a great driver (Junior), who kept us on track and laughing throughout the day. We’d definitely recommend this tour if it’s your first time in Rio and want a lovely, knowledge guide to help you explore and enjoy this beautiful city.
Very enjoyable day in the beach city of Rio.Riding the train was fun and the gondala was amazing. What more can I say in100 ?
Our guide was Camila Feher and driver was Junior. They took me and my husband to see all the major sights in Rio. We had only one day in Rio do sight seeing and Camila planned an efficient itinerary. Camila is very knowledgeable, pleasant and not only took us to the major attractions in Rio but also some amazing local restaurants and artists. Overall we had an enjoyable day and would highly recommend her and Junior.
Camila our tour guide and Junior our driver were fantastic. She created a very thoughtful itinerary including a mini food tour. We loved her personality and she is truly knowledgeable. Junior picked us up and transported us very swiftly across many sites in Rio de Janiero. I highly recommend Camila who speaks multiple languages, maintains excellent rapport with tour site vendors and goes above and beyond to make sure you have an amazing experience.
My partner and I cannot give enough praise to this amazing tour: a tour de force! If you want to see nearly every neighborhood and most important sights for a first time visitor all in one day efficiently, with a local tour guide and a driver, this is an unbeatable deal and very much worth the cost. Camilla and our driver (nickname "Johnny Depp" for his style) were fully of energy and engagement the entire time, even when the tourists themselves were wondering how much more there was to possibly do (answer: a lot more!). We learned a lot of important history and facts. We had easy access to multiple views all to ourselves early on a Friday morning, and easy fast access to the Christus and Sugarloaf (in May--not peak season). Camilla decided on the order of things dynamically depending on weather and time of day. There are multiple things that I didn't even anticipate that were wonderful, like a walking tour of downtown (seeing the amazing library and cafe), going to a waterfall in Tijuca, a monastary, and even a little bit of a food tour sampling things at Bar Urca). She had water and local snacks/treats for us to try, took our pictures well at all the main sites, and kept things high energy. To do all these things ourselves would have taken twice as much time, less organization, and more money than the trip itself costs. Driving was very safe and controlled, we felt safe then entire time. We went on a food tour later in the weekend and they were amazed at how much we saw, it's like 2-3 days of stuff compressed into one. If there is anything you want to see more than just the quick look (like the Museum of Tomorrow) you can just come back on your own later.
I heartily endorse the almost unanimous 5.0 rating for Gregtur Turismo. They are absolutely outstanding! We were on a cruise and I was trying to set up a tour for 14 people, or 7 couples, five of whom contacted me through Cruise Critic and Facebook for that specific sailing. Fernanda, whom I was communicating with, to negotiate the prices, set up the tour, etc. is the best tour coordinator you can ever dream of working with. I had hundreds of questions and emails to her and she patiently responded to each one of them, very promptly, and respectfully. It was clear from my interactions with her that her primary focus was on us having a great experience with the tour, without any worries, versus a cold monetary focus as I generally come across in such situations. She is the absolutely best. Wish I could meet with her in person and thank her for an outstanding experience. Fernanda assigned us Bruno Sérgio as our tour guide. Bruno is an excellent guide. His English is good and he is easy to understand. Bruno was very helpful in navigating through the crowds and expediting the purchase of tickets, especially at Sugarloaf Mountain. He provided enough context, historical and otherwise, around the sites we visited, and even with long delays due to traffic, he was able to help cover a lot during our 10-hours. He was very considerate of the individual needs of his passengers. My wife was on a wheelchair and he made special accommodation and was always in front of helping her get on and off elevators and cable cars. I wish we were able to slow down or stop briefly for pictures (even if we did not get off the bus) at certain sites that we drove by, such as the Carioca Aqueduct. I realize we were short on time because of the traffic. Perhaps he could have shared more information on the history of the sites, and the city and culture of Rio and its various neighborhoods, to fill in the mostly quiet rides between sites. But overall Bruno did a great job in providing a comprehensive tour of Rio, especially given the traffic that day. We all felt that the value of the tour to what we paid for it was an outstanding bargain. It was so good!
Great experience, thank you Camila and our driver, thank you for showing me around and too pics for me. I recommend you guys choose this. It is amazing.
We were 3 couples cruising South America on the Azamara cruise ship and booked a Rio City Tour with Greg Tours. Our fantastic guide Sergio was waiting for us at the port to greet us with a welcoming smile. He spoke English very well and was very friendly. The Mercedez mini bus was very nice and clean and seemed quite new with a very pleasant driver who unfortunately had very limited English. Sergio took us to all the major Highlights, at to the top of the Christ Redeemer statue, taking the funicular up to the top of Sugar Loaf, driving through the beaches of Copa Cabana and Ipanema, stopping to see the stunning Opera House, the view points of the Favelas, the famous Escadaria Selarón steps etc. We did all that and more without ever having to wait in any lines, Sergio seemed to have special passes. While we were driving through the city he would always point out certain buildings and parks with all their history. Sergio was also our designated photographer. He was very interesting and always spoke with lots of enthusiasm which never seemed rehearsed or repetitive. He planned our day extremely well stopping for lunch at the top of Sugar Loaf where the views were stunning! He was always super accommodating and very pleasant. Thank you Sergio for you all your good work and sharing your knowledge & love for Rio. 💕 We had a fantastic day!!
We did a full day tour of Rio with our guide Camila Feher and it was amazing!! She was punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. She speaks English which was a plus for my husband. She knew the best time to go to the different landmarks and it seems like we beat the line every time. Jorge, our driver for the day, was a safe driver and we were able to sit back and take in all the information about the city while he drove us from place to place. Definitely recommend doing this tour on your first day in Rio de Janeiro. Thank you Camila and Jorge.
Camila was a wonderful guide. She went above and beyond to make sure we saw as much as posible. The driver Almi was professional and was a safe driver. My mother in law was in a wheel chair and they helped her in and out of the van. Thank you so much for a great experience.
We were picked up from the cruise port and proceeded onto the tour with Camila and her driver. She pointed out many points of interest along the way to our sites. She answered questions and made our trip very enjoyable. It felt like we made a friend. I wish I could give more than 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a very enjoyable tour arranged by Gregtur today. In particular, we feel lucky to have Sergio as our tour guide. He is very experienced, knowledgeable and responsible. He answered all our questions in details, and took care of us very well for the whole duration of the tour including bringing us to a local restaurant where we could taste local dishes and listen to Brazilian music. He is very good in time management such that we could see all the famous tourist sights at a leisurely pace. The driver also did a good job and the vehicle was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We have no reservation to recommend anyone to use Gregtur as the tour company.
Such a fun day tour with friends! Our guide Camila and driver Jorge were so great and accommodating of our group. Highly recommend.

Camila was great. She is personable and very knowledgeable about Rio and its history. She did a great job of giving us a feel for the character and history of Rio in a short period of time. I highly recommend this tour if your time in Rio is limited.
Most AMAZING tour ever. Camila was awesome. We saw the ENTIRE city and more. She was very informative. I definitely recommend the private vs a group tour. We let her take control since this is her city and she knows it best. Best way to see Rio. Highly recommend.
Camila was an amazing guide. We could not have asked for a better tour of the entire city. We hit all the hot spots and more.
We had an extremely enjoyable, entertaining and relaxing day in Rio, learned a lot and felt we have met a new friend. The local guide Camila Feher was perfect! Well experienced tour leader and guide. High level of language and communication skills. Confident and safe transport, excellent service.
We can't thank Gregtur enough for planning an amazing tour!! Camila was an incredible guide, an inteligent and gorgeous woman! She have a superior knowledge of the animals and the plants, the geology of the area and the general culture of Brazil helped us learn so much. We realy have a fun time on Rio. Many spots to stop and have great picture, the hills in the forest has spectacular views and a chance to see some wildlife, peaceful waterfalls, and lots of green, including an oriental gazebo on the way up. It was a great choice tô take the tour with Gregtuor, who selected the perfect tour guide.
Camila is a dedicated and pensioned professional. Her smile really warms my heart! I had an amazing time with her and I hope to repeat the experience next time I'm in Brazil next month!
Despite a rainy day, we had an excellent tour seeing the major sites in Rio: Christ Redeemer, Sugarloaf, Selaron! Camila was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and helpful throughout the tour day. We stopped for a traditional Brazilian lunch, which was delicious!
This tour was outstanding. We were picked up on time and saw everything we wanted to see. Our guide, Marcio, was really nice and very helpful in every way. We had a great time and I highly recommend this company, this tour, and Marcio. It was just my wife and me and he customized the tour to do just what we wanted to do. A great experience.
We had a wonderful day, and enjoyed the sights very much. Gustavo was an excellent guide. The company is very well organized. We will recommend Gregtours. Thanks for everything! Thomas and Kerstin Meyer
Highly recommended, we spent a few days in Rio with my wife and children, the private tour exceeded our expectations, we discovered a Rio de Janeiro that was beyond what we had expected, beautiful beaches of Barra de Tijuca, Prainha, etc. Also the pantanal near the island of Gigoia (with crocodiles, etc.), Chinese view, Taunay waterfall, Portuguese library, the Santa Teresa neighborhood, etc. The experience was incredible. Thanks for everything Camila!! Excellent guide.
Lovely spa. Super friendly staff Fair price for what they offer you. Recommended 100% Both for adults and children.

I was very happy during the tour for the attentions and kindness of the guide Leandro. Thank you very much. Also thank Gregtur agency for the support in achieving the trip as expected. Brigade! 🥰
The tour was great in all respects! We know the main sights of the city and the time set for each place was perfect! Excellent cost benefit!
Wonderful tour to get to know the best places in Rio de Janeiro. A regular regular tour does not provide you with a ride to the Monastery of São Bento, the Colombo Confectionery and the Real Portuguese Reading Office. We love the walk! Thank you, Camila!
I was very well served by the guide Camila Feher, she was simply excellent, friendly and welcoming, sure made our experience much better, sure when I return to Rio I will look for her!
Great service from Bruno. Super polite and professional. We couldn't have seen so many things about the city in that time without a guide and Bruno adapted to everything we wanted. Recommended 100%
