The hotel had everything you would need! Easy beach access, great amenities including: resort pool, beach towels, sauna, jacuzzi, breakfast buffet and delicious restaurant for dinner. All the staff were attentive and friendly. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Barra de Tijuca area.

Overall, the hotel is nice. The staff is friendly and they keep the hotel clean. Breakfast is ok. They have a lot bread options, not many fruit or vegetable options. The room service is about a 3/5. We ordered our food and instead of bringing things as they were done, they waited. We did not order at the same time, so the food was just sitting and by the time we got it, it was cold. The maids did not change our sheets, only made the bed. They do not have wash clothes, so I had to buy a sponge from the local market. The pharmacy is about a 5 minute walk, the grocery store about 10 minute walk. Zona Sul is awesome and all of the fruits and vegetables are so fresh!!! They sell cooked food as well, but I did not try it. The location is about 45 mins from Copacabana, but the Ubers here are dirt cheap, so as long as you don’t mind the ride, it’s worth it. The beach here is beautiful though and not overly crowded or loud. I would consider staying here again.
My honest review on this hotel. Its in a great location and has beautiful views (if you're facing the ocean). However, some important issues to report. 1) The restrooms in the lobby for the woman's has 4 stalls. 1 had no door, 2 had broken door handles so you couldn't get out of the stall without kicking it open, and the last stall has no toilet paper. 2) The breakfast is decent if you like egg shells in your scramble eggs (experienced 2 days in a row) also the table row that are set up next to the exit area/lane to get to the food buffet are too close to each other causing people to squeeze through to get in and out. And disrupting the person who is sitting and having their meal. They could set up the tables with more space in between to resolve this issue. 3) We asked several times for late check out on Sunday and was turned away twice by the front desk and twice calling in being told they would call us back in 10 minutes but never called back. The morning we needed the late check out they said they're 98% full and cannot offer late check out. This information could've been shared on the first ask? We stayed 3 nights! 4) Room - broken bathroom door handle that's hanging from the hole, broken toilet seat that falls off side to side, broken toilet paper handle also hanging from the hole, and ALOT of mold in the shower that could easily be fixed with bleach if cleaned correctly. SEE PICTURES - 5) Theres no AC in the hallway or near the elevators, we were sweating bricks each time we arrived and left. 6) The Wifi internet is weak so watching TV was impossible. This hotel has potential if they could work on their customer service and have some remodeling done along with some deep cleaning.
[This review is from an American (middle class...I.e. we usually stay at Holiday Inn Expresses and splurge on Marriotts 🤣) perspective, YMMV if your expectations are different] Breakfast: it goes hard! Tons of choices, great freshness, coffee machines on point. Pool: excellent place to lounge; water temps are like a bath...but not much shade. Towels: you use a card system to check them out...it works, just keep track of towels or cards. Restaurant: we skipped it for dinner...hit up Hula Hula for beachside eats or Hollandaise for dinner...they are great values and great service. Hacks: when you hit the beach, two options: rent chairs/umbrella, which should cost about $70 BRL for as long as you wanna go. It's a good deal if you're going for several hours or all day, and you can strap your stuff to the umbrella to keep it somewhat safer...or the guys/gals renting umbrellas can watch it for you. Or...for the bold...leave everything except towel and flip flops in your room. Slather on sunblock and roll to the beach and go straight in the water. Boom! Bikes: use the Uber app and pray 🤣
the location of the Hotel is very good. Some people are doing their best to help and to provide service. Most of the workers are looking most of the day on their mobile phone. Most of them cannot talk a word of English Swimmingpool is nice however most of the tables outsite have dishes with rest of food, glasses etc. I noticed that the tables where not cleaned for hours. Seems that the hotel has a management problem. Nobody has ownership or would take action. Its a pitty because i have been to several Laghetto Hotels in Serra do Gaucho and they are well taken care of. I would say to the management: take good care of your buisiness, the Hotel has a large potentional! To be honest these facts did not spoiled my holiday
