Our Ring of Kerry tour with Ted was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland! He was communicative, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about County Kerry and the Ring of Kerry. He was also such a great person to spend the day with — funny, easy to talk to, and full of interesting stories and fun facts. He took us to some amazing places, including Valentia Island, the Kerry Cliffs, and Kells Sheepdogs, along with plenty of other great stops. The whole experience felt personal and thoughtfully planned, and we really felt like we got to see the best of the Ring of Kerry. It’s clear that Ted genuinely cares about making the experience memorable for his guests. We’d recommend him to anyone visiting County Kerry. Five stars!

Ted was a great host. He shared a lot of stories, history and took us to some amazing places! The Ring of Kerry exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling here for the first time. We are also glad we decided to not drive this ourselves….the roads are very windy and not having to drive gave everyone an opportunity to see the beautiful landscape.

Very long day but it was a good time. Ted knew everything and everyone and going to his island and seeing his home, where he grew up was lovely. It felt like we were visiting a long lost friend, we felt very cared for.

Wow! My family and I had the best time touring the ring of Kerry and Valentia island with Ted. He has definitely earned his nickname “king of the ring.” Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the region- armed with a fact or anecdote for just about every structure on the tour- but he was incredibly kind to our family and had friend at every stop on our tour. Ted is an INCREDIBLE guide. He grew up and lives in the area and is a wealth of knowledge. It felt like we were being given a tour of a family friend’s hometown. Along with Ted being the best, the views and scenery are unmatched. I highly recommend this tour if given the opportunity!

Ted is surely the King of the Ring! Initially we were concerned about such a commitment of time (8-9 hours) but Ted made the time fly. He was also very thoughtful, stopping when/ where we wanted. If you looking for a truly private and personal guide for the Ring of Kerry and Valentia island tour, TED is your man!

My family and I had a blast with Ted as we spent the entire day (9:00-5:00 pm) with him. He was so kind and professional at pick-up, made sure we were all comfortable in his van for the tour, and made sure to share so much history with us. We had wonderful weather and made a decent number of stops along the way. One particular site we loved most was a stop to learn about sheep herding. Absolutely 100% do this experience if it’s available on your drive. Ted is absolutely wonderful and well worth the money!! Book with him ASAP!!

We had the most fantastic experience with Ted! He was prompt in picking us up and provided a full-day Ring of Kerry experience including a tour of Valentia Island! The entire day was lovely and the only recommendation is to skip the Kerry Bog Village . Was a bit of a tourist trap but a good place to stop for a coffee and nature break. Our favorite places were Valentia Island and the Kerry Cliffs(must see) and the many picturesque places along the way. Highly recommend a private vs bus tour as this was personalized and avoided the big crowds. Ted was an absolute gem and also is a local legend. He knew everyone and everyone knew him and he has quite the history with Valentia Island and was a lighthouse keeper for 20 years!! Worth the price for this experience!

Ted was a great tour guide. You will not find anyone with more knowledge or passion of the area. He customized the tour based on seeing how engaged the kids were with animals at the first few stops.

Our guide Ted Kennedy was the best! He was funny, smart ,informative and he made us all feel like we were great friends by the end of the day. He had so much personal information about the area because he and generations of his family lived there. I loved how so many people waved to him throughout the day. He knew everyone! I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone. Our group of 7 ranged in age from 16 to 78 and he kept us all entertained for the whole day. Our entire group will have lasting memories of our tour with Ted!

Our guide, Ted, grew up on Valentia island so he knew it like the back of his hand and had such interesting stories to share. He showed us all of the typical sights around the Ring of Kerry and added a trip to see the slate mines and grotto on Valentia island. He adjusted to our interests and needs and provided a delightful day of sightseeing! We could not have imagined a better tour!

How many times has a tour guide asked you if you wanted MORE than what you paid for? This was our experience with Mr. Ted Kennedy. We were given the option of touring his home of Valentia Island in addition to The Ring of Kerry. There were eight adults in our group and we were very comfortable in his red minibus. Ted picked up at the Old Weir Lodge where we stayed. He was very knowledgeable about the history on The Ring of Kerry, and we thouroughly enjoyed our day with him. We had a delicious outdoor lunch in Portmagee. The weather was the best Ireland has ever known, with blue skies and temps in the 70s (F). Ted took his time and was never rushed. Ted did a terrific job. We highly recommend his tour. Thank you very much, Ted!!!

My sister and I had a wonderful day with Ted as our guide. Having over 30 years’ experience, Ted was extremely knowledgeable about the area, it’s history, the communities, current affairs, the flora and fauna, the restaurants and more! Ted customized the tour to our interests too which made it very relevant, unique, and entertaining. He even went out of his way to get me a coffee first thing in the morning since we lost power at our rental cottage! Fantastic tour! Ted is a life long resident and knows the area and its history. We went to areas no other tour would take you to. We saw so mush more than if we had spent the day on a big bus. Treat yourself to this.
