The day was filled with interesting information, the drive was comfortable, and the day was planned extremely well. We arrived back into town with just enough time for me to visit one of the museums. Sigulda castle was a bit underwhelming. Turiada was better with some interesting historical information. Our guide Maria, was nice but spent most of the tour yawning! No water was provided, as stated on the itinerary. Lunch wasnt mentioned either, but at the end of the tour we were taken to a cafe, nice, but we had a packed lunch, and it was at the end of the tour so itwould have been better just to have gone back to Riga. Overall not good value in our opinion
Really got good time tour leader amazing talking to us and giving us all the necessary information about trip and country history related. A day to remember excellent can’t be better thank you will recommend this tour as enjoyed it to the full.

Amazing experience! We were lucky enough to have our trip while snowing, and got to see the castles in a beautiful setting, but in any case, the experience is amazing. Our guide, Maria, was absolutely incredible, very talkative and friendly, gave us very interesting information about the history of the castles and the area, as well as the broader history of Latvia. Also, enjoyed visiting the bobsleigh court.
Edĩte was an excellent guide! She was knowledgeable about the sites and history of Riga and Latvia. The driver was courteous. The sites themselves were also interesting. You get out of Riga see the surrounding suburbs and landscape. We got to stop for coffee before exploring the castle at Sigulda, then stopped by the biggest cave in Latvia (not that big, but interesting folklore), and hiked to Turkish to explore. On the way back, we stopped at lunch at the cat bistro which was delicious.
This is definitely worth it. It was snowing and the area is magical looking. The guide is very well informed about history and the sites. All very well organized.

Erlens was the perfect guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and adaptive to the group’s wishes and the circumstances. Since we had some fog, he suggested we visit the local bobsledding track instead of the scenic lookout that would have been obscured. His recommended lunch place was wonderful as well. He even recommended a great dinner spot for us after we returned to Riga. Visiting Sigulda and Turaida was very enjoyable and beautiful, but our best memory will be the time we spent with Erlens. Would highly recommend this tour!
We really enjoyed this trip to the fullest. The places to visit are absolutely worth going there, and our guide made us feeling welcome and comfortable during the whole trip. The rich history of Turaida and Segulda, from pre-Christian conversion up ito modern times, is very complicated. Erlens did a fantastic job of explaining this history clearly, and of showing our group how the local environment, castles, houses and churches played a role. Wonderful tour!

Our guide, Erlens, was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He not only knew a lot about the towns and destinations but was a great conversationalist about everyday life as well. The trip was just the right amount of time 9am-2pm and we had direct hotel pickup and drop off. The castles, caves, and small towns we visited were beautiful and it was great to see parts of Latvia outside of Riga city center. Erlens also provided great recommendations for other things to do and places to eat for the duration of our stay. One of the best tours we’ve done; highly recommend!
My fiance and I went on the private tour to Sigulda and Turaida with our tour guide Erlens. It turned out to be the highlight of our entire trip to the Baltics. Erlens was extremely accommodating to what we wished to get from the tour. He even let us take 30 minutes to ride the cable car across Gauja National Park (definitely worth it btw, the view of all the fall colors was magnificent). He showed us around all the amazing spots around Sigulda and Turaida and was fantastic at explaining the history and significance of each site. It was fascinating to chat with Erlens about what life was like during the Soviet Union too. He also gave us so many great recommendations on where to have dinner or drinks in Riga too. We learned so much on our tour with Erlens and would consider it a mandatory experience when visiting Latvia for the first time! We gained an immense appreciation for the history of Latvia and what its people endured to finally gain independence. Thank you Erlens, we cannot wait to visit Latvia again! 110% Recommend!
Eriens provided a professional first class tour yet was very flexible in catering to our needs and answering our many questions. He was very knowledgeable and personable and generous with the time he spent with us by accommodating our special requests beyond the tour description. His English was very good and he is one of the top, if not the very top, of the tour guides we have hired. We now have a much better understanding and appreciation for the country and people of Latvia.
With it being out first trip to Latvia, we spent quite a bit of time looking for a private tour so we could see as much of this lovely country as possible. Our research led us to this fantastic tour with Erlens - and we we not disappointed. Erlens was an exceptional host - extremely friendly with a great knowledge of not only the areas visited in the tour but the historical past of Latvia. Erlens English was also amazing - which made the whole tour that much more enjoyable for us both. Erlens was extremely hospitable providing us with water at the start of our trip along with providing great options for food during our tour. In addition to this, Erlens also accommodated (and negotiated) for a very last minute addition to the tour at the Soviet bunker. It's very likely we'll be back in Latvia in the near future and have already decided we will be going with Erlens again - will be recommending it to other too. Once again, Erlens was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating guide and made for a great experience for us - and an ever better image for Latvia.

We had x2 private tours from Erlen. Day 1 we went to sigulda to view castles, cable car over the river, soviet bunker and aerodium it was amazing. Along the way Erlen was telling us all about the history of medievil and soviet times. His english is perfect, very friendly great guy. Second day tour , we went the shooting range and then to jurmala again alot of information from Erlen regarding history of Latvia. He mAde our holiday 10/10. Thanks see you next year.
On the strength of our Riga trip the day before, we booked Erlens again to take us out of town. He is so flexible that he took us to the farmers market first even though it wasnt on the itinerary and was in the opposite direction!. Once again his knowledge was vast and his English very good. We had a private tour, everything was well organized and communication was easy. Unfortunately there wasn't snow, but our guide was very nice and prepared. Recommended if you are spending more than a couple of days in Riga.
On wednesday 16 oktober 2019, I was wonderfull guided in English by Erlens Gadzāns through the Gauja National Park. Erlans was very well adopting my trip to my wishes and unabilty to walk for longer distances and on Hills. Our first stop was a nice viewpoint from which we had an overview over the park. Through Sigulda we went to the medieval Sigulda Castle. Erlans droppen me off at the Cable Station. I went by cabine to cross the Gauja River looking over beautifull autums valley. Erkans picked me up by his mini-van at the other side to go to the Gutmans Cave. He told me the fairytale AND true story of the Cave. We had a short lunch break near the medieval Castle of Bishop Albert, which we thereafter visited including visits to the grave of Maia that died in the Gutmans Cave, the wooden Luthern Church and the exposities of the lifestyle of early Pagan Letvian people. Back in Riga I had a good diner at the restaurant Erlans advised to me.
The guide Erlens is very attentive and careful.com the well-being of the customers. Brings a lot of information about Latvia, in an excellent, comfortable vehicle. I highly recommend.

we were looking for a francophone guide for a visit around RIGA and we were delighted... we were very pleasantly surprised by his historical knowledge of Latvian customs and customs. Too bad we didn't choose it for the tour of the old town, I think we missed things ... in short I recommend M LEJEUNE who is a French at heart but Latvian at heart... for a successful visit do not hesitate to offer him your visit wishes so that he adapts as justly as possible one of the best visits of our trip to the Baltic countries.. He was also able to answer our questions about current life in Latvia. The driver was very considerate and also participated in a better knowledge of Latvian life. We highly recommend this tour.
