Nice view of Riga from above and not too many stairs. Elevator up and only walk 2 flights up.
Best place in the city for a 360° view. Placards explain key points throughout the city which is informative and helpful.
Lovely views over the old town. No queues. Easy to get to from old town only 5 mins and close to markets for lunch stop
Poor. Notice on entrance says toilets on 17th floor. Paid 8€ to go up but toilets were closed. Lady in ticket office did not believe us and did not seem to care. Then someone else told us toilets are closed because it was too windy..!?!? The view was OK but nothing special...
Easy to get to the tower. Great view. Friendly staff. What else matters? On the way to central market. Delicious! Inexpensive.
The view from the top was beautiful BUT they do not accept pre-purchased tickets from Tripadvisor and we were told they have no partnership with any agency. We paid again via a machine inside the lobby - it seemed a shame not to go up as we’d made the effort to get there.
Best views in Riga, no queuing, took the elevator most of the way up and then just had to walk the final 2 floors. Worth going on a clear day to see everything. No cafes or anything at the top, but nice views and I’d say worth the 7€
Really windy on the top but beautiful panorama view of the city. Gave a good sense of location for further exploration of the city
My wife and I arrived to the Latvian Academy of Sciences building around 12:30pm. We went inside and paid the lady at the front desk 8 Euros cash per person. I believe it is cash only. Then you head up the elevator to where you may have to weave around a bit, until you reach the observation deck. It was not super busy during our visit. It was a beautiful day, and it was not too windy. Plenty of room to move around, and you can take as much time as you want. There is a restroom available there too. There are also some decent info boards to read. And yes the views are wonderful, and you can get great photos. When you are done, just head back down the elevator. It was a fun visit, well worth the time, effort, and money.
A panoramic view of the Riga skyline from a beautiful building. Situated just near to the Riga central market it’s a bit quieter than the viewing point at St Peter’s Church. A spacious roof with informative signs about prominent buildings, toilets at the top, and a lift to get up there.
Very good observation deck of the entire Riga city and area. Go only on nice days and you can see to the horizon. Afternoon is best for pictures of the old city from the observation deck. There are two flights of stairs from where the elevator drops you off so be ready to do some climbing from the 15th to the 17th floor.
Not worth it to be honest! Better go somewhere else. Go buy McDonald's instead or maybe get ice cream tooo. I'm tryna reach that char count
Panorama Riga offers a breathtaking top view of the city's historic skyline, modern architecture, and the Daugava River. From this high vantage point, you can truly appreciate the charm and diversity of Riga, making it a must-visit for photographers and tourists alike.
The view was amazing, best birds eye view in Riga by far. Worth the price, would 100% recommend to many others visiting Riga or even the locals.
Review: Panorama Riga Observation Deck (100 words) The Panorama Riga Observation Deck offers one of the best panoramic views of the city. Located in the iconic Latvian Academy of Sciences building, the deck provides a 360-degree view over Riga’s Old Town, Daugava River, and surrounding areas. The elevator ride is quick, and the staff is helpful. It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for photos or simply enjoying the skyline. While the viewing platform is outdoors and can be windy, the experience is worth it in good weather. A must-visit for first-time travelers and photography lovers seeking a unique perspective of the city.
The views of Riga we’re amazing and I enjoyed spending time there with my family. Would recommend to other families with children.
A great 360degree view over the city of Riga with fine views all around. The entrance fee is a reasonable €8 with an elevator the 15th floor, and then a further 6 flights of stairs. There is a card machine where you purchase tickets from. There are toilets at the top of the building and poster information of what can be seen. Definitely worth a visit when visiting Riga, and very close to the market so easy to find.
Excellent, friendly, great views and easy to find. Lovely people in the reception area. Well worth a visit.
Located in current Technology studies building, 5 minutes from the central markets and 20 minutes from station, which is one of the last Stalin era built buildings remaining in Riga. €8 entry fee at time of visit to access viewing platform, I went in the morning off season midweek and was the only iron there!. Elevator to 15th floor but then 6-7 steep flights of stairs to viewing platform, where toilets are available. Worth the entry fee for the views over Riga on a clear day,
6 euros gets you to the 15th floor by lift, and stairs to deck on 17th floor. Great view of the market hangars, the old town, the river and the surrounding areas. The Academy of Sciences building is easy to spot, close to the central market, but construction work at the station as part of the Rail Baltica project means you might find it a little awkward to get to. Use the tunnel next to the railway station, and visit the central markets whilst in the area, as well as the Jewish Ghetto (you can see an isolated railway truck from the panoramic deck, looking towards the river)
It’s the dirtiest building in view. We had to fight our way through endless roadworks to get here. All the doors were shut and it looked closed. Someone else tried one of the doors that had a Latvian sign that possibly said “no entry” and it opened. We followed. Inside was dim and grim. It’s a science centre but it looked like it had never heard of electricity. The entrance fee seemed cheap but then we found out it was “cash only” - the only time in 6 days this had happened to us. We declined and I made my feelings known. We went up St Peter’s spire in the old town instead. Cleaner, friendlier, a better view, and - ironically - card payment only 🤣
Preferred the view over Riga from here over the one from St Peter’s Church tower to be honest as you get both the zeppelin hangar market & St Peter’s church in the same view with all of the old town. Entrance is 6 Euro (cash) , take a lift on the right hand side after the reception up to the 15th floor then a couple of flights of stairs following the arrows up to the observation deck. There is a WC on the observation deck.
Building is visible from all over Riga so easy to find. Very quiet inside, with beautiful views at the top. We had the place to ourselves.
Worth a visit as this building indeed offers a nice view over the city beyond. The 6 euro tag for the elevator access is however definitely exaggerated, too bad.
Nice location to get an overview of Riga. Costs 6 euros, and I think it's worth it. But the key point here is sunny weather!
A few stairs to climb after the elevator but a superb panoramic view of all of Riga and its iconic buildings. Restrooms available at the observation deck level. Nice neighborhood and Orthodox church nearby while waiting for your scheduled time. Prefer a weekday morning at the end of the season (Sept 10 like us) to enjoy it without crowds of tourists. The only downside is that there is no souvenir shop, just a book stall.
This is wasted money even though it is cheap. 17 floors, old and worn, view because it is 100m but nothing to see. Save your money to a place where you get something back for them
Panorama Rīga left a vivid experience: breathtaking views, modern entertainment and a great atmosphere – perfect for a holiday with friends or a romantic evening!
Oh, great. Everything was nice, especially the views. We were with our wife, so to speak, on holiday, she came by, too. Suddenly, it's worth it.
The views are amazing, I didn't think for so little money I could see all the nearby recumbent grounds and the whole city.
Oh, great. We loved it. You can see the whole Riga from above. And Riga is a beautiful city. As long as it's sunny weather, no wind or rain
Visited the Panorama Riga observation deck and was very impressed! This is one of the best places to see Riga from above. The site is located in the Academy of Sciences building, and although you need to take an elevator and walk a little, the view is worth it. From the top, you can enjoy a panorama of the Old Town, Daugava, bridges and modern areas – especially beautiful when the sun goes down. The atmosphere is calm, there are not too many tourists, you can safely take a photo or just stand and admire. The slightly vintage setting of the building adds to the charm. A great place for those who want to see Riga from a new perspective!
5 points Wonderful place beautiful ancient architecture, beautiful view of Riga offering a view of the whole Riga. Where I want to go back
The academy has just a beautiful view of Riga, so it was very interesting to spend time there and learn a lot of things
The views are just gorgeous, I love this place! was there with the family, very cool! everything is very comfortable and cool! just wow!!❤️
From this Soviet-built building you can enjoy a decent view of the old town and the river thanks to the elevator that leads to the top floor. The view is not unforgettable (the old town remains a bit too far away), although interesting, and the price of € 8 I find it definitely exaggerated for what is offered.
As expected, spectacular 360 degrees over the city. Definitely worth a visit in a particular neighborhood outside the old city. Unpleasant the person who stood at the front desk Saturday afternoon, August 17, with a distinct impression of little or no desire to work towards tourists and foreigners. By card you pay at one terminal, at the other wall. One, write it down or say it politely. Two: zero directions how to proceed, a touch with screen saver that seemed other .. after everything is obvious, but before even no, just say or write something. The person came over listless and babbling something in his language. I hope there are other less unpleasant staff with those who come friendly to bring money!!!
Which view the elevator worked then two floors with stairs the weather not the best but highly recommend this view goal.
Not only is the building beautiful, but it also offers a beautiful observation deck at the top of Riga University. Very worthwhile to visit here in the evening. We paid 6 euros per person and in return we received serene tranquility and a beautiful view. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Riga.
