We ended up with a private tour! I almost felt bad that they hadn't canceled because it was just my husband and I and our lovely tour guide. But we got to see some interesting little spots that might not have been on the tour otherwise since there was only three of us so we didn't arise suspicion going into places and looking around. Our guide was very knowledgeable and communicative and clearly knew the city incredibly well.

Gita or guide met us promptly at the departure point (opposite the school for an extra bit of info for you all) . As it says, they will wait approx 5 mins for late comes but then the group is off! Two hours, very informative tour of the city without the history being too heavy. Stops at all the main points of interest and at a gentle pace. You could ask questions as the tour went along and all in all the time flew by. Great way to spend my last morning in beautiful Riga, with the sun out finally! Have to come back when sun or for longer!
Very nice tour. I really enjoyed learning about the history of Riga and Latvia in general. Baiba did a great job explaining the places and buildings we walked by and the stories about them. She also did an excellent job giving us recommendations for authentic Latvian restaurants. I would recommend this tour.
Excellent guide Marija really knew her history and showed us so many things we would ordinarily have missed. Excellent tour and excellent guide!
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour- we were the only two on it, so it was a private tour of the old town! We learned a lot about the city and the history of Latvia as well- our guide was extremely knowledgable and made some recommendations for places to stop in after the tour as well. This was a great way to see the Old town and learn about its history.
Must visit area - especially the churches, shops and the bars. Nice place to be when the weather is nice. The streets give you nostalgic feelings. It is a little expensive though so try not to buy anything from there.
We enjoyed the walking tour in the old city together with our very kind guide. There is a lot of great old buildings and the guide spoke a lot about them and we’ll be able to recognize art nouveau for ever, but we would have liked a little more history and a few anecdotes about recent time too.

an exquisite walk through the old town of Riga The guide was brimming with information about the history as well as the modern politics which was very interesting. The tour took in many various buildings and churches which we would not have seen without the tour. A very enjoyable morning and a must for the curious tourist

Every day at 11am at designated point there is a free walking tour of Riga in English/German and Latvian, covers all the main places of interest within the Old Town and at zero cost why would one not participate. A really good exercise in city hospitality, other capital cities take note!

Our guide Maria was very knowledgeable and recommended other places in the town to visit - restaurant and cafe, plus some roads with amazing architecture.

We are so glad we took this tour because our charming and knowledgeable guide, Maria, told us the history and stories that allowed us to more fully appreciate Riga's Old Town. The Old Town is charming, beautiful and very easy to walk through. This tour made our visit more enjoyable and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Riga. Additionally, Maria told us about Riga's Art Nouveau architectural history and, had we know about that beforehand, we would've booked a tour with her to see that district.

We now take more walking tours as this is a much better way than a bus to familiarise yourselves with the layout and history of the town. The guide was excellent with a wealth of enthusiasm and local knowledge. It really did help us to learn about Riga and it was an excellent start to our stay.

We absolutely lucked-out with a terrific guide Marija who was so passionate about her city, she filled you with her enthusiasm and thus you just loved the city. She had terrific historical background information, knew her history and led us around parts of the city we never would have known about had we not signed up for this tour. Furthermore, she advised us on additional things to see/do during our stay for which we will be forever thankful. It made our visit to Riga, and we would happily suggest anyone visiting take a walking tour of the old town. It absolutely brings it to life!

Our guide was terrific! She was extremely knowledgeable about Riga, answering all of our questions with ease, and went above and beyond to make sure our visit was informative. StewartK June, 2017

It was a very interesting tour full of historical background information that gave the old town meaning.

Fantastic tour. Our guide (Mariya) was wonderful - very informative and tailored the information she gave us to meet our interests. We saw parts of the city we would never have found on our own. It was a brilliant introduction to Riga and we would highly recommend it to others.

Another couple also booked this tour. Guide was knowledgeable and interesting and covered all the important facts. Also included ride back to boat which we took other couple preferred to remain in town to wander. English was very good.

Out walking tour of Riga was great. Our guide Inga was very knowledgable and was delightful
Plz give her our thanks from her flight attendant friends.

Our guide overdid the architecture when we would have preferred more history. We had already done Tallinn which spoiled us .

Our guide was very informed and we had a very enjoyable time. Excellent value for money

Riga has the largest architectural ensemble of Germanic Art Nouveau and also has a historic Gothic and Baroque center. To get to know the old town you should start by Ratslaukums Square following the old alleys and see the houses called Three Brothers. Even after wars and various invasions the historic center preserves the buildings of the century. XIII. I loved taking the walk.
You have to devote time to the old town alone trying to forget that we are not alone it deserves it and you have to win it! See pictures
Almost all highlights are within walking distance. In fine weather, for a great view over the entire city on the platform of the Academy of Sciences (near the market halls). For 5 euros (as of January 2019) Se take the lift to the 15 floor.
Despite the cold and grey, the tour was interesting and our guide spoke very good French.
We went with Olga, gave us a very good varnish about Riga and then we could visit the city in detail.
I spent 2 days in Riga after a long break. The territory of old Riga is large enough. Clearly the presence of Germans in the Middle Ages here. I've seen a lot of that in Germany. Bad luck with the weather. Both days were cloudy. It's kind of gray. But the cathedrals and narrow streets are impressive

Visite privative de RIGA en Français, bon guide avec les informations claires et documentés. La guide était ponctuelle et nous avons testé gratuitement le Black Balsan :
