Incredibly polite and knowledgeable tour guide, flexible itinerary to make the most of each site, great historic locations, excellent restaurant to stop for lunch, clean vehicle, and scenic drive.

It was a very easy process to book and the driver was a great host. The only thing is that the trip could have been in reverse, the last two castles had more to see and we had little time to see anything. This is the first time that I have used this kind of service, I am glad that we decided to try the service.

We had a great day out. Our driver/guide Ivan’s spoke wonderful English and was very informative. He pointed things out and took us to four additional sites for a few minutes. We had just our group on the tour. Our only learning was we should have brought food as there was no lunch stop on the itinerary.

Amazing trip from start to finish. Our guide/driver Andis touched base with us the day before, confirming pick up. He turned up bang on time and ensured we were comfortable before setting off on an amazing day. Throughout the day Andis took account of my sister's mobility issues, parking as close as possible for drop offs and coming back to collect us. Clear instructions throughout, but no pressure. For lunch Andis suggested a fantastic restaurant which coul not be faulted. A knowledgeable and helpful guide, would happily use his services again in future.

Martin was incredibly knowledgeable and could not have done anything more to make our trip memorable and special. Nothing was too much trouble and he was incredibly friendly and kind. The trips to the castles were so interesting and in particular the Cesis Castle was the best castle we had ever seen. I would highly recommend this tour.

Family trip, first time in Riga. The tour was very well organized. We were picked up right on time and started our way to Cēsis. There was a bottle of water for each of us in the van. The van and the tour guide (Mr Ivars) was very nice and explained everything in english. We did the first half of the tour, then had lunch in Sigulda and continue to the 2 final castles (Sigulda and Turaida). Mr Ivars was very patient, we had a person with reduced mobility and took a bit longer to walk the castles but he waited for us with a great attitude, despite being behind schedule. Our trip included 2 kids (10 and 11) and they also enjoyed history and the sight from the castle and their towers. Definitely recommended when visiting Riga for the first time.

Fantastic driver - had a lovely day trip despite being able to visit Cesis castle as it is closed on Mondays. Our driver was exceptionally helpful in organising alternative options for our day instead .

Aldis was a fabulous guide and driver. He did everything to accommodate our needs and, when pressed, made suggestions for additional things to do. He took the position that it was our time and that he was completely at our service. He was knowledgeable about the country, the castles, the culture, and Mother Nature provided us with a beautiful sunny day to see the gorgeous scenery. We felt like we gained a great deal of knowledge about Latvia and made a friend in the process.

Driver picked up us from our hotel in Riga and we drove to visit three different castles. All of them had interesting museums inside and what a view from top of Turaida castle! Driver gave us some insights, we had a chat about local life and he advised superb local restaurant. Great day exploring out of Riga!

We were on this trip at the beginning of May 2024. We were very satisfied. Our driver picked us up at our hotel in the center of Riga. The car was very clean and water was free to use. The driver spoke good English, he drove very nicely, he told a lot of interesting facts, both about the various sites, but also about Latvia and its history. He also recommended a restaurant on the trip which was really good, and it fit perfectly into the program. We visited all the stops on the tour and were driven back to our hotel again.

Our driver was a nice man but with no knowledge about the tour or about the places that we visited.Firstly it was mentioned to him as 2 passengers when it was 3 passengers. The entire tour was with no commentary from the driver. He did not explain about the places, history nothing at all. I felt like I went with a taxi driver and back. He would drop us at the parking and asked us to go around ourself without explaining anything about the place or history.Cesis was closed for a visit, we just went around the castle in the snow and that’s it. I strongly advice you not to book from this operator. I am coming from India and I can be travelling to this place everyday so I am more than disappointed to have booked this tour in Viator.

This was a disaster from start to finish. The driver arrived 30 minutes late in a van with dirty windows, no Wi-Fi, no water, and did not speak one word of English. Once on the road, he drove 138 km an hour with a speed limit of 110kph. It took my husband some time to communicate to him while he was driving that we wanted him to slow down. We didn’t even see Sigulda because we couldn’t understand where it was. It just seemed to be a reconstruction of an old farm. This was in no way a tour since it was impossible to communicate with the driver. II would like my money back.

Normanse was a good companion and guide, very personable and knowledgeable. One of the sites was closed for repairs so he adjusted according to what I wanted to do.

Quite nice day trip to Castles. The driver speaks good English and has wide knowledge to introduce Latvia and local life. Nice talking to him. He also took us to good cafe and bakery shops in Cesis as the Castle opens later during holiday. Thanks to the driver, we had our first taste of birch juice, I feel like a little bit taste of coconut juice. Unfortunately the castles are mostly ruins, not much to see, more like Parks.

Not particularly interesting. I would not recommend. There is one castle and not much else besides the woods.

Our driver Gatis was very good. He was prompt and adjusted the trip based on what we wanted. He brought us to a great place for lunch. Overall great experience.

The day was nearly perfect. Driver was prompt on time and gave us plenty of time at each location. Went to his suggested restaurant for lunch and it was exceptional. On the way back he made a special stop to share his favorite local beer.

This was an amazing tour all around. We were given the opportunity to explore three medieval castles, all of which were amazing in their own way. Karlis was very knowledgeable regarding the history of Riga and Latvia. He was friendly and answered all of the questions we had. He took us to a fantastic restaurant in Sigulda in the middle of the tour. My family and I highly recommend it, especially if you want to go outside of Riga to see what history Latvia has to offer. 2 thumbs up!

The day tour was great, managed to visit three different castles and museums plus and amazing sledge ride that we will never forget. Driver was very friendly and picked us up from our hotel! Cesis, Sigulda, and Tursida are 3 beautiful place for everyone to visit when in Latvia. The trip was relaxing and pleasant. I’m so glad I went on this trip.

We had a great tour around cesis, sigulda and turaida. Aldis was amazing! He was informative and was very enthusiastic until the end of the trip. He was sweet and sees to it that we were comfortable.. Knows a lot of local places to try and tajes, a lot of pictures, too! I recommend this hassle free day trip.. 👌👌

A nice tour. As we did not want to take a risk because of the situation around Covid-19, we (2 persons) booked this private tour in July 2020. We were picked up in front of our hotel, were driven to the different sights one after the other and then brought back to the hotel in Riga. Everything worked out fine, so I can recommend this tour. Our tour guide did not accompany us inside the different castles, but he instructed us well before. First we were surprised that we still had to pay all entrance fees separately. But after the tour, this was clear to us: beside the sightseeings we visited, there was a choice of different other options. Only during the trip we decided together with the guide which places we would visit, in which order and which options we would better leave out. It was indeed good that an individual arrangement was possible. Beside the three prominent castles we visited the beautiful Āraiši windmill and also the "permanent exhibition on the resistance of the people of the Cēsis Region to the Soviet and Nazi occupations from 1939 until 1957". The guide told and explained (good English, easy to understand) a lot during the trip, focusing on political and historical aspects.

Guide was responsive, punctual, flexible. Pleasure to travel with. Able to share little nuggets of Latvian life if asked too...

This tour was great because Mr Heincis was a great guy and great tour guide. Also it’s amazing to just tell him where you wanna go and pick the spots that you are I interested in. He told us a lot about Latvia and much more, but we had our space when we wanted to explore something. Big thanks again and good luck for the future!

For a single person, this is an expensive option to see these sites. I would have preferred to have a small group option to see these castles. But, frankly I searched for a few hours on the internet and couldn't find a company that offered a mini bus for about 20 people to see the sites together. I had no problem finding a small group tour for sites in Lithuania. Also, the site clearly states that Wi Fi is available and the driver told me it was not. The driver drove safely.

Great trip to see some more Latvia outside of Riga. Skillful, friendly and most expert driver was right on time picking us up from our hotel. Then we drove up to Cesis to see old town, castle and local museum of partisan history. On our way back we visited Sigulda and Turaida castle. Driver was keeping us updated with local history and other possible entertainments in locations. He helped us to get tickets and helped to order food if someone did not speak Englis or Latvia. We get good recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing in Riga too. Very recommendable!

We had an excellent guide Karlis who was passionate about Latvia. We learnt about the country, culture. He was very flexible in the itinerary and we were able to re route to see the White Dune which was a worth while detour. Price was reasonable. We recommend booking Karlis when you are next in Riga

No era el ideal del viaje que quería comprar ,pero como se nos anuló el que teníamos comprado desde hacía meses tuve que contratar uno en el último momento...y resultó muy divertido . ¿Tuvimos hasta una nevada! Y castillos con nevada es diversión asegurada. Martins también eetuvo muy acertado. A pesar de no ser un guía acreditado nos dio toda la información que poseía . Hizo ameno el viaje. He dico que no era mi ideal de viaje, y esto es porque en este viaje lo que tú contratas es un coche que te lleva a todos lados, pero en nuestro caso Martins aportó sus conocimientos y se interesó porque estuviéramos a gusto en todo momento, incluso nos enseñó cosas que no estaban incluidas.
