Tribe Riga City Centre

A centrally located hotel on a busy road. Parking is available in a multi-storey car park about 500 metres away. We had asked for a quiet room. Our request was granted, and we were given a room in the attic. However, it was very warm under the roof. The noisy air conditioning failed to cool the room either, as the sloping ceiling, amongst other things, prevents the air from being distributed effectively throughout the room. The sloping ceiling also makes it very difficult to move around the room. Very good bed. Although the bathroom had been freshly painted, the shower cubicle was looking a bit dated and the lighting probably dates back to the hotel’s original refurbishment. I would advise against booking a room on the 6th floor. Very good breakfast served in the reception area, which is very attractively designed overall. I don’t think the price is justified given the quality of the room.

Staying in TRIBE was the highlight of our visit in Riga. As someone who has traveled to 59 countries and stayed in multiple hotel properties, I can highly confirm that TRIBE stands out from my top 3 favorite hotels around the world. Not only the rooms are super well equipped with full amenities, but also every corner in the hotel is completely well thought. I adored the branding of the hotel, and how every room, including lobby, restaurant and wellness center are super modern and with a unique artistic touch. We loved having also dinner and drinks in the restaurant, and as a digital nomad, the co-working spaces and high speed Wifi were highly appreciated! The staff was super nice, welcoming and helpful, I cannot recommend enough this place, it's a true gem for anyone coming to Riga. I would definitely be back in the future!

I have never experienced such a disappointing stay in a hotel. It was the first time in my life that I had to call the police because of a hotel dispute. We had booked an Executive Room. Upon arrival, we discovered that the fridge the phone and the bathroom light were malfunctioning. We reported the issue to reception, where we were told that, because the hotel was fully booked, we would have to spend the first night in a Standard Room. We were assured that, following the many check-outs the next day, we would be moved back to an Executive Room. Trusting this promise, we accepted the temporary downgrade. The following day, when we asked to be moved to the Executive Room we had originally booked, the receptionist categorically refused. She claimed that no Executive Rooms were available, despite what her colleague had told us the previous day. Instead, she simply offered a €20-per-night refund for the downgrade and informed us that it was impossible to speak to the hotel manager. Naturally, I was extremely upset. I could not understand how the hotel could fail to honour its commitment and then expect us to simply accept the situation without even speaking to a manager. As we were getting nowhere with reception, we had no choice but to call the police. They arrived quickly, and only then did the hotel manager finally agree to meet us. Initially, he refused to speak English and seemed genuinely surprised that we were unhappy. He insisted that refunding the price difference should have been sufficient, while completely overlooking the fact that we had specifically chosen and paid for the Executive Room because of its higher standard and comfort—not merely its price. At that point, we requested the cancellation of the remainder of our stay. We immediately moved to the Mercure Hotel, where, for even less money, we enjoyed a beautiful suite, breakfast included, enough parking places (in TRIBE only 7 are available), and were welcomed by an exceptionally friendly and professional team. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Tribe Hotel. Personally, I will gladly choose Mercure for future stays, where customer service and respect for guests made all the difference.
