Nice location- in a very green part of a city, close to river. 30 min by walk to Old Town (with beautiful view on the river and old town). Breakfast and coffee - acceptable. Good restaurant on the roof.

(Honest reviews) Riga Islande is actually really good spot to have the city at hand and have a quite rest at nite, to cross the bridge if you are headin for the old town is a wonder and adds to the experience as youll be forced to see what is happening all over town and the other hand go west for a stroll amd you wont miss a beat of the city culture. Btw hotel is nice, clean and spacious and stuff is there to help dont expect four seasons and youll be happy you stayed.
Easy 5/5. Staff was great, hotel had comfy and proper sized beds. AC in room was quiet and working properly. Room was very clean and quite spacious. Location is realy good too, just 30 minutes of walk to city centre and at night it was super quiet. Did I mentioned that breakfast was good too? 😅 anyway, will return back for sure without second thoughts. 😌
Great hotel, placed well in the city. Hotel room was spacious and had all the basic amenities we needed. You can't turn down heat in the room, beside turning on the air conditioner or open a window . Super breakfast with both English brunch and really tasty Latvian cuisine as well.
Hotel: The strength of this hotel is the free parking and its location within walking distance, just outside the old town. Rooms are a good size but could use an update. The bathroom, in particular, is very outdated. A shower curtain in a bathtub is no longer acceptable, the door has seen better days, and there is nowhere to put your belongings. It is a hotel that focuses on group travel. As a private traveler, you get lost in the crowd. You notice this clearly at breakfast. It is a good and extensive breakfast, but very busy and noisy. It is constantly being refilled, there is sufficient staff, but the atmosphere is anonymous. Focused on quantity: large quantities are placed in a single bowl, there are, for example, 4 pitchers of every type of fruit juice, etc. They claim to be a 4.5-star hotel. Maybe someday... Right now, it is more like a 3-star. Restaurant: We always consider a restaurant in the hotel a plus. Tasty, sufficient choice, good prices. However, what we really found unacceptable: you are required to eat outside (covered by an awning). From the beginning of May, their indoor restaurant on the 9th floor closes, and you can only eat on the rooftop terrace on the 10th floor. Nice setting, with a beautiful view of the old city. However, we were sitting there at 13 degrees, in the rain, wrapped in two blankets, and were still cold. The staff were wearing thick fleeces and sat under their counter themselves to stay out of the cold wind. There are three patio heaters, but they do nothing because they are positioned 2 meters or more from your table. The food has to come from the kitchen downstairs, so it isn't that warm to begin with, and then you are sitting in a cold environment on top of that... Afterwards, we stood under a hot shower for minutes to warm up... The rooftop is very nice, but look at the weather forecast and not just your calendar. Below 20 degrees? Do your guests (and your staff) a favor and open the 9th floor for dining!!
