A22 is located in a quiet area about 15 min walk from Old Town (or a 5 min ride). It is also a 10 min walk from a restaurant row, and is across the street from the park with an easy access to running paths along the river. Front desk and room cleaning service is standout. Rooms are large, modern and very comfortable. One suggestion is to raise the height of globe lights next to the night tables to avoid bumping into heads. Hotel breakfast (yes, breakfast) is in the eponymous restaurant that recently acquired a Michelin star....and it definitely showed in the quality of the breakfast items. It was also cool to observe the chefs in the open kitchen prep ingredients for the evening - meticulously cutting tiny leaves and vegies
I stayed at A22 for just one night, and it was a wonderful find. To be honest, I stumbled upon it completely by accident online and was a bit amused at first—with a name like 'A22' (which is simply their street number), I half-expected a roadside motel! It was a delightful surprise to find a stunning, luxury boutique hotel instead. It’s a funny little contrast that the hotel is named so pragmatically after its address, while they never miss a chance to mention that their restaurant is named after an American president. The location is fantastic—very quiet and peaceful, situated right next to a beautiful park, but also just a short stroll away from Riga's famous Art Nouveau district. The interior design of the hotel and the rooms is slightly dark, but in a very cozy, sophisticated, and pleasant way. There are so many beautiful details throughout the property, including a truly stunning chandelier in the lobby. The service during both check-in and check-out was absolutely impeccable. Thanks to the quiet surroundings, I had a great night's sleep. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast, but the overall stay was wonderful. A real gem in Riga!
The rooms are tasteful and stylish. They did an immaculate job renovating the entire building, and I loved the original wood floors. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast quality and variety are both fantastic. There's a beautiful park across the street. It's a trendy neighborhood with so many good restaurants. The only fault I can find is with the design of the bathrooms, which lack counter or cabinet space of any kind.
The first three nights were very nice—peaceful and comfortable. Unfortunately, everything changed on the last night when a group of party guests was placed in the room next to us. From then on, sleeping was impossible due to loud bass-heavy music and dancing continuing well past midnight. This completely ruined our stay, especially with a late flight home the next day. The room itself was modern and comfortable, featuring a high-quality LG OLED TV and a Bose sound system. While this setup is great for enjoying media, it also means that if anyone plays loud music, the bass easily travels through the walls. A great sound system is a nice touch, but there should definitely be rules or limits for its use—especially at night. There were two private saunas available to book 24/7, which was a really nice feature. However, it was disappointing that the water bucket for pouring over the stones was missing, which is a basic expectation for a sauna experience. Breakfast was very nice, and the restaurant itself was perfectly fine. This could have been an excellent stay if not for the loud party next door and the poor attitude of the lady receptionist, who handled the situation badly and left me to deal with the disruptive guests on the lobby when they were asked to turn the music down. They were giving rude comments on me due to stopping their party.
