Beautiful small hotel in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

The best part of my experience is the very helpful and welcoming staff at the reception. I stayed for 5 nights and 6 days, and felt the warm welcome all throughout. Location: This is located in a residential area of Montchat, which is a plus if you prefer a quiet vibe, further away from the city centre and crowds. The main tourist attractions are about 20-40 minutes away but still accessible via the Lyon transport system (TCL). Be mindful that the buses and trams may operate on less frequent schedules on certain days but still reliable. As long as you make it to Grange Blanche (which you can also do on foot from the hotel), the metro and the rest of the transport system are more frequent and regular. Breakfast: After dining elsewhere and taking a full French food tour, I realise that we’ve been really spoiled with the hotel breakfast choices. Turnover may not be as fast compared to hotel chains, but the assortment and quality are really good (baked goods and pastries, fruits, cheese and charcuterie). Side note: The setup is not quite a “true buffet” that most may be familiar with, so I would recommend to get your share in one trip as much as possible or use the spare plates (I did since I was solo), or maybe request for fresh plates if you really have to. Amenities: A few toiletries (refillable) are provided but you can always bring your own if you have specific requirements (the French pharmacies or Franprix/ Monoprix will most likely have these anyway). Towels are not as soft but were provided in sufficient quantity. Coffee and tea facilities are in the room. No fridge. There is a TV but I think they are mostly in French. Enough sockets around the room for both USB and plugs. There was a vault on top of the hanging rack but it seemed to be not working ( I did not need it so I did not have it checked). The hanging rack is open, so you need to be mindful to keep your things not cluttered. There is air-conditioning when needed in summer. There is a nice view from my bedroom window overlooking a garden. Outside the room, there is also a balcony if you want some more fresh air and sunlight. Overall, the room felt spacious and cozy. The floor is wooden, which I personally prefer over carpets. I highly commend the stylish decoration and the colour scheme of the bedroom.
We stayed in 8 hotels this trip. This was our favorite by far. The rooms are beautiful and the decoration throughout is so nice. We slept great and had no problems at all. Just research the 8 bus to get to Grange Blanche and you will be fine. Both of the stops are near the McDonalds, (trust me, it's important to know in the 6 way intersection). You can always walk to the 6 tram to take the 2 into the city, but be bold and take the 8 bus to the metro to save yourself 10 minutes! I refuse to take a star off for location because we made it just fine with the wonderful Lyon transit system. The staff was so accommodating and nice. We loved this hotel
I absolutely loved my stay at the charming Maison Lacassagne! Everything about it felt so thoughtful, from the beautiful attention to detail in the rooms to the warm and welcoming reception. The staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and cared for, which made my experience even more special. It’s the kind of place that feels cozy and personal, rather than just another hotel. The only small drawback is that it’s a little bit outside the main city centre, but it’s very easy to get to with public transit. Honestly, that just makes it feel like a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city. I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in Lyon!
We stayed one night at this beautiful hotel with our two small dogs. The staff were very friendly, and both check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. The room and bathroom were spacious and spotless, and a coffee machine was provided. We also appreciated the kind gesture of being offered a coffee upon departure. We would gladly return.
