Hotel De Verdun 1882, Bw Signature Collection

Lovely hotel in a beautiful historic building- these high ceilings make you feel like you live in a palace. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here next time in Lyon :)

Good stay overall. Check-in was quick and staff were friendly. Rooms are large and the AC works well. Nice touch with drinking water provided in reusable glass jugs. The hotel is outside the old town but close to a metro station, so getting around is easy. That said, most good restaurants are about a 20-minute walk. One downside is a large abandoned fenced-off building next door. It’s not an issue now, but something to note. Comfortable and convenient, with a few minor drawbacks.

- Great location - short walk from the Place Bellcour and has cool little shops in the same street. - The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and outgoing. Erika at reception and Leo from breakfast stick in my mind - but the others were friendly too! - The room was perfectly clean (I am very fussy about such things) although rather small. Beds were comfortable - although that is rather subjective. - Breakfast was limited but of good quality -i.e. lovely bread, optional plant-based milk, etc.

Overall a 4 due to very noisy rooms. I imagine is related to the old house structure but isolation between floors is really annoying. We listen all steps from above and when someone flushed in a different room or toilet was really noisy. In the positive side the house is really ancient and nicely decorated. We liked the antique abd modern all together. Was very comfy inside and location is just perfect. Personal was super friendly. There is no fridge or water in the rooms you need to order downstairs but that goes with their green policy what is great. Regarding the bathroom is missing something more practical to hang towels. If you are 2 people and have more than one towel there is no space to hang them all! Thus towels are never dry. Cleanliness perfect!
