Holiday Inn Lyon Vaise By Ihg

AVOID!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Stayed in this hotel in August 2026, was woken up at 02:30 in the morning to someone trying to break into my room! (Luckily the chain was on the door, but this did not stop them trying!!) Turns out, it was a member of staff 'trying to find a clean room' WHAT!? Complained to reception the day after, the FOH manager did not offer any solution to sort out our bad stay. I have been awake since 02:30!!! I asked for a refund on the room, which with a huff and a sigh I did get. I said we should get a refund on the entire stay, as it was far from acceptable, the FOH manager refused to pay us for the parking we had paid (12 euro for the night), there was no free parking. Then the FOH manager refused to tell me his name so I could complain - continuously refusing and in the end threatened to ring the police on me. Very unprofessional, this was one of 5 hotels stopped in on a very long journey from the UK to Alicante. All other 4 were perfect, including one much cheaper! Not what I expect from the Holiday Inn brand at all. When I have complained to the manager, all I have is an email saying he should have identified himself. Have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years with work and travel, and this, by far was the worst. Not only for the way a member of staff thought entering the room at 02:30 would be acceptable. But now how it has been handled afterwards. Safe yourself the hassle, and do not stay here.

Rooms fairly nice can fit the family of 4 but tad cramped. Aircon won’t got lower than 19 degrees and doesn’t seem to actually work but beds are comfy. Lovely chat with the man on the front desk who helped find a place to park the van as it didn’t fit in the downstairs carpark. Location works fine as located right next to a bus station for our trip into Leon on our way home to the uk

Elevator breaks down multiple times a day , staircase is 40 degrees and gross . Air conditioning doesnt work . Terrible hotel , great staff at the resturant .

I still cannot understand how this place is 4 star… The room is quite spacious and the breakfast is nice. Coffee is good which is a plus. But the air conditioning does not work at all. It is set for 20 and room temperature is 27. All my colleagues say their does not work either. Bed is all squeaky, don’t move when you sleep and when I asked for an iron I got a burned one… Hotel restaurant is tasteless and there are no nice places around. One night hotel at best, check in late and check out next day early, terrible place to stay…
