Admittedly I misread the booking page and booked a single room. Honestly, even if the descriptions are true to character in the booking, I feel it is quite apalling to ask for 120+ euros a night for a shoebox room. The furniture is old and broken. There are marks on the walls likely bugs that were killed on the wall. The aircon is incredibly noisy, the bathroom is ok though the shower is open with no curtains so you run the risk of getting the entire bathroom floor wet unless you contort yourself around. The hotel offers conditioner in the reception but I could tell it was old and likely out of date as unclear liquid came out primarily. The water takes 5-10 mins to heat up which in my opinion goes against the hotel’s policy to be more eco friendly. There is no fridge which means that you cannot store any perishables in the room which is a big minus point esp if you dont feel like paying 21 euros for the hotel breakfast. The window has a wonderful view of a wall but at least the room was relatively quiet (minus the deafening aircon. All in all, the single rooms should be more budget friendly than currently for what they have to offer. A pity but I wont be staying here again and I wont recommend this hotel to anyone

stayed here during a solo trip as a 21 year old girl. i felt very safe in the area and at the hotel. i loved being within walking distance of both rivers and the old town (as well as the beaux arts museum). staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was perfect for a solo traveler
It’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, very decent price, yet the room has everything a single person needs, including a large bathroom. The kindness of people, the cleanliness, the clarity with which their hospitality philosophy is explained makes you feel welcome and cared for. All personnel is helpful, knowledgeable, attentive, in a discreet yet involved manner. Professionalism at its highest standards, no frills, no BS, just what a hotel should provide. Excellent location, excellent service, quality coffee and food, free filtered water, sparkling or still - refill your own bottle or get one from the reception desk, open 24/7. Comfortable lobby and great coffee and drinks available all day. This is the reason people come back to hotels from Airbnb.
I love this sweet little hotel! On the one hand, it doesn’t have the perhaps expected amenities that North American visitors are maybe used to (no gym, boxed tissues, slippers, robes, refrigerator, room mini bar). That, however, seems frivolous and unnecessary when I sit on my comfortable cushioned chair, looking out the large windows and at my utterly charming room. The bed is exquisitely comfortable, the linens are soft and fine, the formerly in-use fireplace (marble?) and other room details are lovely, and the bathroom (double sink, large tub, separate shower) are perfectly clean and functional. And the room is very quiet, yet we’re just around the corner from everything! The produce market, pharmacy, excellent dining, and everything else is very near. Then there is the excellent staff who make it a pleasure to stay here. The breakfast is also excellent. AC worked great, as did the room darkening curtains. I would highly recommend staying here if you value comfort, peaceful nights of sleep, good food and professional, friendly service. I’ll be back.
Beautiful and stylish hotel. Very well located. Friendly staff. But some real problems. The air conditioning system was really suboptimal. Yes, it was summer, but our room was very warm, warmer than the hallway. We noted this to staff and they gave us a space heater which they thought blew cold air. It made it worse. The shower intermittently had no cold water, and, for some reason the tap in the bathroom sinks (both) were blocked from providing cold water. The hotel lobby was slightly cooler than outside, but not much. And the WiFi was so slow (over two days) that I had to just revert to my cellular service. Probably a great place to stay in good weather, but this time it was not ideal.
