Honestly pass your way, one of the worst hotels to discover the city. What motivated the writing of this review is the odious behavior of the night receptionist that day. One of the most disrespectful behaviors we have had in our lives.
I let you discover the places in photo of this "4 star". We had never seen such a disgusting 4-star in France. I feel bad for tourists who, like us, would be fooled. I hope they will improve especially the person concerned but on this point there can only be progress.
The service was OK, and the breakfast was very nice. The local is a bit far from the downtown restaurant and shopping area, but close the the EM Lyon Business School which worked well for me. The room was spacious and clean, but there was a problem with the bathroom that had a strong smell of sewer. I notified the front desk and they said they would look into it but nothing improved nor did they have another room to offer me. The bathroom was clean, but the bad smell (only in the bathroom) remained during my three day stay.
Everything was great, and I would choose this place again for a stay in Lyon. However, when we went to the breakfast area on the first day, there was only one member of staff. She was great, but there were just too many people. I don't think this will happen often, but at that time, more staff were needed. Overall, it was good value for money and I really liked it. The breakfast was actually very good, with high-quality products. The location was great too: close to the metro with a direct line to the railway station, and quiet with some nice food and drink areas nearby. Really great!
Overall had a great stay here. The staff was polite and helpful. The room was spacious but also got a bit cold (we were provided a heater). We didn't use the TV much as the sports channels didn't work and we couldn't connect it to the internet. The kitchenette was good but their knives were so blunt they couldn't cut through butter.
The hotel is nicely located near the Place Jean Jaures metro station. The surrounding area is also very walkable. Bakeries and supermarkets are also nearby.
Lovely stay, they were extremely kind and helpful with all our requests. We got cosy rooms with a great view. It's also in a great location, groceries and a metro stop within a few minutes walk. Their breakfasts were very good. Definitely would recommend.
