The Very Best Of Rhodes

Meeting was straight forward. It was interesting to travel around Rhodes and our driver was nice enough but he was definitely more a driver than a tour guide. Information was very limited. The biggest tip I would give to anyone booking this excursion, if you want to get tickets to visit the Lindos Acropolis, make contact with the operator and ask what time you will be in Lindos and purchase skip the line tickets for that time. Unfortunately we were not aware of this and with the stop time being only 1 hour & 30mins, we were unable to get tickets and have enough time to visit here which was disappointing. The lunch stop was lovely and the food was amazing.

George was our guide. He was excellent. He knew the island well having lived there much of his life but also having lived and traveled elsewhere. He had great perspective of the life on Rhodes. He provided a nice history and background of all of the places visited. He was mindful of the pace we wanted to keep and always dropped us off and picked us up where we were close to each of the sites without having to walk a long way. I would definitely use him as our guide again should we ever visit Rhodes. Great guide.

Stamos met us just by the ship in a super comfy Mercedes SUV which was perfect for our party of 6. We had a leisurely day driving around Rhodes, stopping to take amazing photos. Our last stop was at a smart beach club where we had drink stop before heading back the ship. Stamos was a good guide and driver. The only criticism from our party was that we would have liked some guidance as we walked through the old town/port at the beginning of the tour as there was a lot to see and we weren’t sure what we were looking at. This was a very enjoyable excursion. Thanks Stamos.

Dimitrious did a great job getting us to all the key points on the island. He kept it simple and sweet and gave us time to explore at our own pace. We had a lovely lunch out at the beach. Great day and I’m certain it was better than the cruise excursion offered.

We had a great personal tour with Demetrius. He was our driver and guide and gave us great information about everything we saw on the tour. We had a wonderful authentic Greek lunch by the sea shore. He even provided us with cold bottled water. Would definitely recommend this tour and Demetrius to anyone. A personal tour is the only way to go!

Mike provided a wonderful, individualised private tour of Rhodes. He was there early to pick us up right from our cruise ship. He shared a depth of knowledge about the places we visited. We loved our visit to Rhodes and got to see a great amount in the time we were there. It was more economical for the 2 of us to do this private tour with Mike than it would have been for us to go on a group shore excursion from the ship. The day was relaxed, and Mike made it all easy. We loved Rhodes.

It is great doing a private tour and George was amazing! If you are cautious about doing it, don't be! You are guaranteed to be back on the ship and it's so much better than group excursions for about the same price! I would 100% do it again!

By the time we took this tour, we had seen several islands and historical sites on the mainland. Our driver was helpful in tailoring our tour to spend more time in the unique sites (Palace of the Grand Master) and less on the archeological sites. Since we wanted to swim, he called ahead at the lunch place and reserved us a beach bed and umbrella for no extra fee. We swam in the beautiful water while waiting for our food. It was a great experience.

We had a wonderful visit to Rhodes and Lindos, and Dimitrios made the day truly special for our family. This was a very nice, family-friendly tour, and we would highly recommend it. Dimitrios was an excellent driver and guide for the day. He made sure we were able to see everything we wanted to see, while also adding some amazing local stops that made the experience even better. Two of the highlights were a local handmade pottery maker and a family-owned olive farm stand and olive oil tasting location. Those might sound like small or simple stops, but they were absolutely amazing and ended up being some of our favorite parts of the day. He also went out of his way to help us see things that would not have been possible on a larger bus tour. One example was a short out-of-the-way trip so we could get a close-up view of St. Paul’s Cathedral. That kind of personal flexibility made a big difference and helped the day feel much more meaningful. Another highlight was lunch. Dimitrios found and made reservations for us at a local restaurant where we had the most amazing Greek salad and some excellent fresh seafood. It was exactly the kind of local meal we were hoping for, and we really appreciated him arranging it for us. For anyone visiting Rhodes or Lindos in late June or early July, be prepared: it is brutally hot this time of year. Bring electric fans, umbrellas for shade, sunscreen, and make sure you stay hydrated. Dimitrios always had cold water available for us, which was very much appreciated and very much needed. Overall, this was a fantastic tour and a great way to experience Rhodes and Lindos in a personal, comfortable, and family-friendly way. Dimitrios was kind, professional, flexible, and thoughtful throughout the entire day. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rhodes.

We had a great time on this tour!!! A great value. Old town, the Lindos Acropolis, the countryside and a lovely meal at a uncrowded beach in a wonderful restaurant. Mike had great options for activities and places to see, he tailored our tour to us. He acutely aware of schedules, crowd levels, and transit times between places to see. This helped maximize our day as we went between places that potentially could have large crowds to places that were quieter. His knowledge of Rhodes and its long history, great food and lovely places to visit proved to be one of the best experiences on our visit to Europe. His well equipped vehicle and kind personality made the day seamless, relaxing and extremely enjoyable. When needed he gave us attention and input and when appropriate he let us be on our own for a bit. A great value! We would recommend taking a tour with Mike as you will feel welcomed and fulfilled by the end of your day.

We had a wonderful day with Christopher. He was so nice and informative and let us have a say in what we did for the day. We loved stopping at the ceramic shop. What masterpieces and the ability to have our purchases shipped home was wonderful. We felt no pressure to have to buy but the pieces were so amazing we just had to. Due to having some additional time, we also had a chance to meet Niko and experience some olive oil tasting and learn so much from him. Acropolis Lindos was so beautiful. Bring good and sturdy walking shoes as there are some steep areas and slippery stones going up but the view is amazing. Thanks for a wonderful day Christopher!

This tour is the perfect way to see so much of Rhodes in one day. Mike is a wonderful guide--very friendly and knowledgable. He drove us all around the island, with several stops and many opportunities for great photos. He also took us to a great seaside restaurant for a delicious lunch. Our private tour included all of the sites we wanted to see in Rhodes. Mike picked us up at the port and we toured the entire day. None of the Viking tours would have included as much as we did. Rhodes is beautiful and we loved it.

The tour with Mike was amazing! Mike picked us up at our hotel and we started a perfect tour. The tour was very flexibel with the schedule so we could visit some sites a bit longer. Dimitris was a delightful host of Rhodes. We had a few “must dos” on our agenda to see family historic sites and he curated a fantastic day of magnificent views, the old city, an olive tasting experience with Nick (who truly educated us), a local artist / pottery maker, to Lindos sites and markets and then a delightful lunch beachside at a lovely restaurant. Dimitris, a native of Rhodes was charming, attentive and an excellent host for our day in Rhodes.

The excusion was excellent. There was no waiting around for a busload of other passengers to embark and disembark, which allowed us more time at various sites. The car was very comfortable and the driver/guide was extremely knowledgable.

Christopher was amazing! He adjusted the itinerary to suit us and took us to a beautiful seaside restaurant for lunch. The day was perfect and Christopher was the best guide!

Mike was our driver and a great ambassador for his native Rhodes. We strolled thru the magnificent Old Town with its impressive Medieval walls still intact. The scenic stops driving out of town were nice, and the ceramic stop was actually souvenir worthy. My personal favorite though was driving to the ancient town of Lindos and its Bay of St Paul. Mike was very helpful to show us things that are special in Rhodes and even picked some tasty oranges for us right off a tree. We ended our tour with a stop back in Rhodes Town at a dessert place that was a great end to the day. This tour is so much better than a big bus tour-highly recommend!

A great day on Rhodes. An amazing confluence of history and culture. The flexibility of a private tour combined with a hospitable guide made the experience unforgettable. Make sure you know the service and timing when booking. It can be a little hard to discern from the Viator web site.

Mike was an excellent tour guide. He spoke fluent English and was very friendly and helpful. He was flexible with the tour and took us to the Seven Springs as we had additional time. We found the tour fun, and Mike was able to tell us lots about the places that we visited. He arrived promptly and exactly on time to where we were staying. Also his car had lots of space and seats for larger groups. I would definitely recommend his tour to anyone visiting Rhodes.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide, Mike, was truly gifted and incredibly knowledgeable. Having lived on the island his entire life, he provided a unique perspective on the history and culture that we wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. If was a personal tour and the guide had extensive knowledge of the island. We were taken close to the center where a bus cannot go.

We were very pleased with our guide, Mike. He provided a helpful overview of the geography, culture and history of Rhodes. In addition to tours of the old town and new town of Rhodes and London, we stopped along the back roads to see, smell or taste wild spices and fruit. We especially recommend visiting enchanting London.

From our cruise ship, my spouse and I had a wonderful tour with Mike. He was a wealth of knowledge about Rhodes. He did such a good job that we can't wait to come back and stay on Rhodes. It has so many gorgeous areas. And, the homemade Moussaka at the lunch restaurant was fantastic. Highly recommend.

George was our wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He took us to some wonderful places for scenic overlooks and gave great history of the island. He was also very flexible and stopping at a special place to get olive oil at my request. I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Good value for money. Our guide George gave us a thorough and comprehensive tour of Rhodes and we saw much of the island. We loved the old Medieval town and history. It was fascinating. We were able to customize our tour which allowed us some flexibility and we really enjoyed the sites we visited. Our highlights were a delicious seafood lunch by the sea at Haraki Bay Hotel and Anthony Quinn Bay. Our guide George was friendly, patient, offered suggestions and easy to talk to. He wanted to give us the best experience and he helped us plan our itinerary to maximize our time. He was the best!! We all really thought George was great!! Wow 🤩 What a wonderful introduction to Rhodes. Our guide Vassilis was exceptional. Five stars 🌟 As a small group of 4 we were able to see places not accessible to large groups and coaches. The colours of the Mediterranean ranged from azure, cerulean, turquoise to tanzanite blue. Lindos lived up to its name ❤️ and our delicious seafood lunch at a smaller village- Haraki Bay was both personable and secluded. We even tried an amazing Greek White wine of the varietal grape of Malagousia which we had never heard of. Definitely recommend it 👍 Traditional ceramics were also displayed. Rhodes, we will return and Vassilis you will definitely be our guide! Thank you 🤩

Mike made this trip truly special. My son's birthday was celebrated even though a medical emergency did not permit him to join the trip. Mike suggested we get a cake, and do a video call to wish him a Happy Birthday! I was truly touched by the level of care and meticulous planing on his part. We just showed up and he took us to see some amazing sites and enjoyed great food. Mike, you will always hold a special place in our hearts, Thank you!🙏

Mike shared relevant history, culture, and architecture with our group throughout our day. He was in no rush with our group and made us feel relaxed and enjoy everything. We stopped in the old town, stopped at wonderful picturesque locations, ceramic shop (5 minutes), Lindos for shopping and Acropolis, and a relaxing lunch at a luxury hotel on the beach.

We felt rushed during our 6 hour tour and were dropped back at the cruise port 45 minutes early. Our guide could have taken us to some places near the terminal for the rest of the trip. Our guide was not a licensed tour guide, so he did not come into the sites to tell about what we were seeing. It would have been better just going with the cruise line.

This tour was excellent from start to finish, George our excellent tour guide met us early with good communication beforehand, we were able to stay longer at some places and shorter at others, he was more than happy to fit in with what we wanted. Anyone considering a tour in Rhodes shouldn’t book with anyone else why pay for a ships tour or large group tour when for the same cost you can have your own personalised tour. After our lovely lunch on the seafront, George dropped us back at the cruise ship right in front of the gangway, excellent service.

Our experience with Mike was great, a very flexible tour where we were able to see all the highlights and more, a very comfortable Mercedes car, picked up right outside the boat. Mike is very knowledgeable about Rhodes and being a local adds to the experience. Being four pensioners it was the perfect tour for us.

What a wonderful adventure around the island with our most excellent guide and driver George. George met us pier side when we disembarked the cruise ship and took us around Rhodes, explaining the history, and stopping at various historical sites. We then ventured to a true artisans shop where they make handmade pottery. The skill and craftsmanship was amazing. Further venturing west we found ourselves in Lindros Acropolis. It was quite a climb up to the top but worth it when we explored the ruins and history. George then brought us to a beach restaurant, not frequented by the throngs of tourists, where we indulged in authentic local Greek cuisine. We were back to our ship on time. Next time we’re in Rhodes we most definitely will use George as our guide, and recommend for others as well.

Our experience was great. We toured the island with George. He was accommodating and flexible with our interests. The drive was very comfortable and George was able to show us many beautiful spots known to locals. Highly recommended.

Worth the cost! The best day we spent in Rhodes. The driver Dimtri was excellent! The restaurant in Haraki Bay was one of the best meals we had. Absolutely amazing seafood. Plenty of stops and Dimtri was on hand to explain the history of the sights visited. Dimtri also had cold water waiting for us each time we returned to the air-conditioned mini-van. This was an amazing experience, one we will always remember.

Mike was amazing and very knowledgeable about Greek history. He went around and had a good time. We did not complete certain area due to the heat and the travelling tiredness. Mike arrived at the hotel before time. If we are able to book a return visit, we will definitely contact Mike. We stayed at Atrium Palace Hotel which was amazing.

We had a wonderful tour with George! His car was clean and always nicely cold and we appreciated his historical insides and his funny banter. We loved Rhoades! The Medieval Old City was amazing- I wish we had more than one day on the island (we were in port from a cruise)- I could have spent a whole day in the Medieval City alone! We also loved the charming town of Lindos and the Acropolis of Lindos! We also enjoyed a stop at a pottery shop and a monastery and enjoyed our lunch right on the water in Haraki Bay! Highly recommend this great tour! Mike, the owner of the tour company, even checked in to see how our day was going!!

Excellent day in Rhodes during our Greece and Italy cruise! George was a wonderful (and safe!) driver who was knowledgeable about the island and patiently answered all of our questions.
