Rhodes Beginner & Certified Scuba Diving With Full-day Boat Trip

The instructors were all really helpful and explained everything clearly making sure we were well prepared and felt comfortable getting into the water. There was a dive leader and 2 instructors swimming with our group of 4 at all times to help if you needed any assistance at points through the dive. We found it to be well worth while to take on the second dive as we felt more confident in the water which let us take our surroundings in a bit better- you also get a lot more time in the water for your money. We were picked up from our hotel exactly on time, only slight negative would be the bus that collected us wasn’t in great shape. Overall a great experience that we’d love to do again and would recommend to anyone.

The overall experience was great! It took around an hour to get from Rhodes to the diving spot. Once there, you get clear instructions and go in groups of 4 to start the dive. The first dive is mainly about getting a feel for diving, and the instructors are super sweet and helpful. I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. Even if you don’t want to go very deep, that’s completely fine, and nothing is forced. If you want to stop, that’s also okay. The crew was always calm and really friendly, and they never got annoyed if you made a mistake or needed some extra help. While diving, there are three crew members with you: one in front of you who guides you through the water, and two above you who assist you during the dive. This made me feel even safer and more comfortable. The second dive is definitely more fun. During the first dive you are really focused on your breathing and getting used to everything. During the second dive, you worry about that much less and can enjoy the underwater environment a lot more. After the dive, you have the option to see the pictures they took of you underwater (€12.50 pp) and book another dive, which goes deeper and lasts longer (€35). Underwater you can see lots of fish and the visibility was around 20 meters, which made it really nice to look around and explore. Food and drinks are available on the boat, but bringing your own is definitely cheaper. For example, a simple sandwich was €5. Tip: Bring some water and food with you so you don’t have to buy it on the boat. Also, bring swimming shorts or an extra set of underwear. :)

A great day. Travelling with kids 11 and 15, they both tried diving for the first time. Great experience- the staff was friendly, patient, explained very well, made the kids feel safe. We will come back for padi cources!

The best experience ever. The guides were so good and made everyone comfortable. It felt very safe, and we all had a good time. Me and my boy took second dive in the afternoon. Booking directly with the company was a breeze—within a few hours, all of my details were confirmed via WhatsApp, and by the next day, I had proactive updates regarding my driver for the hotel pickup. Their organization from start to finish was top-notch. Out on the water, the experience was just as impressive. The equipment was in excellent condition, the dive briefings were thorough, and the crew took outstanding care of everyone on board. The wreck itself was fantastic, teeming with vibrant marine life, and we were even treated to a passing turtle! I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone planning to dive in Rhodes.

We thought this was an excellent day out, booked as a birthday gift for my partner as something new we hadn't done before. We both did the 'try dive' and paid beforehand for the extra dive (seems to be the same price before or on the trip in case you're not sure what to do). At the time was €70 for one dive, €105 for two. As it is literally a full day 8:30am till 4:30pm, would highly recommend the two dives otherwise I imagine it feels like you're stuck on the (not moving) boat all day while they get through the groups. Bring your own food or buy in cash on the boat, the sandwiches were more than ok and good drink / snack selection if you need. Staff super friendly and helpful, very reassuring throughout the day. We absolutely loved two dives, great experience and we would have done stage 1 of the PADI if we had one more day to spare in Greece! Highly recommend this company for your first or indeed experienced diving trip! Memory for life!

I've always loved snorkeling to explore the underwater world, so it was time to take it to the next level by trying scuba diving. You can choose to try it out, go on multiple dives, snorkel in the area, or take a course to get certified as a diver at various levels. The lessons are clear and fast-paced, and the team consists of qualified enthusiasts from all over the world, allowing them to offer lessons tailored to each language. The divers guide us and ensure our safety. Everything is done to make sure we have fun, and our consent is respected. You’re not forced to dive if you don’t feel like it or if you change your mind for any reason. I have absolutely no regrets about this experience, and I’m ready to do it again to complete the different levels. Absolutely fantastic first diving experience! We had an amazing experience with Waterhoppers Dive School as a family of three, including our 13-year-old, and couldn’t recommend them highly enough. This was our first ever dive together as a family, and Kevin, our dive leader, was calm, patient and incredibly reassuring throughout. Colin was a fabulous teacher who made everything feel fun, relaxed and easy to understand, while also giving us the confidence we needed. The whole experience was brilliantly organised, professional and, most importantly, fun. We all felt safe and supported from start to finish, and being able to share our first dive together made it a really special family experience. A huge thank you to the whole team for making our first dive such a fantastic memory. We’ll definitely be back for more!

Brilliant day scuba diving with very experienced divers and felt very safe at all time, this was pur first time scuba diving. I took the opportunity to do 2 dives and would highly recommend it to everyone thinking of it I am 69 years old and should have done this years ago. Great team on board.

Although the dive site itself wasn't the most spectacular compared to some of the other dives we've done, the overall experience with Waterhoppers was absolutely outstanding. From the warm welcome by Paul, the wonderful pick-up service from the incredibly kind Sam, to the professional and caring guidance from Jemma, Jacob, and Aurora during our dive. Everything was perfectly organized. The entire team made us feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely welcome from start to finish. Great service, amazing people, and an experience we'll always remember. We would happily dive with Waterhoppers again and highly recommend them to anyone visiting Rhodes.

Three of us went ,2 adults and teenager, we had a brilliant experience, this was our first time scuba diving and the whole time we felt save and we'll looked after. Highly recommend this group of very experienced drivers, I would go again

The scuba diving itself was great! Highly recommended! However, there were many hidden prices and arrangment details. The base cost (80eur per person) gets you 20 mins of diving. In the meantime the total experience is 8 HOURS. We had to pay extra 35 if we wanted to do a 2nd dive. Also, we were charged 25 eur for 16 underwater pictures. Personnel was very helpful and friendly- made our experience very nice!

I had an amazing experience from start to finish. The entire team was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive, making us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the whole experience. Everything was very well organized, and I felt safe at every step. I especially recommend doing the second dive if you have the opportunity. Once you become more comfortable in the water after the first dive, you can relax much more and truly enjoy the experience. It was absolutely worth it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone witho ut hesitation.

Perfect day! Seriously, don't hesitate to go. The crew is super friendly and gave us a great welcome. The diving is very safe, we all felt really comfortable with them. They speak several languages, so communication is easy… The safety procedures are very well explained and several times to make sure we understood. The boat is very comfortable, which is great. The diving works in several groups, so when you're waiting your turn, you can either wait on the boat or swim. They even offer snorkels, masks, and fins if you want. The diving area is magnificent, both above and below the water! I really recommend it; you won't find anything like it! Just a heads-up, if they offer you a second dive, it's an extra charge. They didn't tell us this beforehand, and we only found out afterward, but it's not a big deal (it works out to €35 per additional person). They also take great group photos during the first dive! It's pretty cool to see them afterwards; it makes for a great souvenir.

I booked the scuba diving for my friend and I, I have my advanced padi qualification but she hasn’t dived before and was very nervous. The dive centre was really accommodating of this, in which they were quite flexible in what dives I did in order to stay with my friend. But the dive centre itself was really impressive, as they made sure you were properly prepared, as they carried out safety measures which I have not witnessed in other dive centres. The two dives I did were a great experience and really enjoyable. As its a day out too, even when you’re not doing a dive, there is a plenty of swimming and snorkelling you can do. Would recommend!

Amazing experience. The staff is very well prepared for beginners, they share many details, explain everything more than once, take care of everything and make all eforts so that all the participans are comfortable. The participants are set in small groups and each group has the same amount of experienced divers -1 (group of 5 people has 4 expert diversts, group of 6 people has 5 expert divers) to make sure everything is ok at all times, that everythins is safe and all needs are met. People who can't swim can still join this activity if they don't have fear of water. There is an extensive questionnaire being handed to each scuba participant and if needed there is a discussion with a medic on board. I recommend this activity 1000%

My son tried a try dive in our hotel pool and really enjoyed it, he then did a second try drive in the pool (he is 11). This was when he decided he wanted to do a dive properly. The company were so helpful and great at putting him at ease. He enjoyed it that much he did a second dive that same day with them. The photo of his dive gave a lot of both in and out the sea. We would definitely use them again.

We really enjoyed this trip out extremely friendly and professional felt safe and looked after every step of the way! A doctor was there to check you over if needed! I did feel u was mis sold slightly as we paid 125 for a full days scuba do one when u only actually get twenty minutes of u wanted to do more it was an extra 35 per person. Then 25 for s few pictures but all in all it was nice but a quite expensive day out!

Myself and my partner booked to do the beginners scuba diving with this company. They were extremely friendly, easy to communicate with and explained everything very clearly. My partner then went on to do the 2 day course with them and loved his experience. Would totally recommend they put your mind at peace and give you lots of encouragement if you are nervous.

Dived from the base in Kolymbia and absolutely couldn't not recommend more. Staff were so lovely and accommodating and my partner ended up diving 4 times with them over the course of the week. Just the best experience ever!!

Went with my wife on a day dive. Unbeknown to me I had a heart issue that manifested on the dive. The dive crew were unbelievable. Within minutes I was on shore and in an ambulance. I'm writing this from my hospital bed and I'll hopefully be discharged tomorrow. Waterhouses truly are "lifesavers". Unfortunately have to give up diving in the future, but if I had one recommendation for a brilliant diving school that puts safety first it's this company. They're a super crew who know exactly what they're doing. 100%

This was the best experience ever it was really reasonably priced and the safest I have ever felt in the water the instructors are just super patient really knowledgable and really kind they are so accommodating we come to Rhodes every year and will definitely be booking this every time it was amazing you learned everything and what you get to see is unreal I was struggling to get it at first and they were nothing but encouraging going at my pace trying to ensure you get the fullest best experience they are so passionate you feel at ease if you decide on one thing whilst in Rhodes do this you will not regret using water hoppers and if like me you don’t like boats they use a wonderful cove thank you water hoppers for one of the best experiences of my life I have never felt so confident after achieving something new my only regret is not doing this sooner

We had an amazing time , well organised , plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. I would recommend taking the option to have a second dive , the first one as good as it was is about learning and finding how it all works , you know what you’re doing the second time and will feel more confident.

Instructors were very patient and informative. And they took photos of my parter and me durring the dive! We would absolutly do this again!

Great organisation and incredibly knowledgeable helpful team. We felt that communication with guests could have been better- the “full day” experience actually consisted of a theory explanation on the way to the dive location and only one 20 minute dive. A premium of €35pp was needed to take the second dive, which i felt was reasonable pricing but it is misleading to offer a full day service without mentioning prices for an extra dive later on in the activity description. There is a lot of waiting around, especially for those who choose not to take the second dive so may not be suitable for everyone- however the setting is beautiful and the boat has a small cafe to enjoy.

Our family had an absolutely unforgettable day diving with The Waterhoppers Diving School on Rhodes, led by Mike – who is not only a great manager on board but also a partner and owner of the diving school. From the very first moment, we felt genuinely welcomed and in the best possible hands. Mike gave us an extremely personal and thorough introduction, taking time to explain everything clearly and with great patience. His instructions were precise and easy to follow, and he always made sure we felt completely safe and confident before entering the water. As a family, it meant a lot to us that he paid attention to each individual’s needs and comfort level, creating an atmosphere of trust and calmness throughout the entire experience. We enjoyed two fantastic dives with Martin who was our diving guide on the two dives and the entire team made each moment special. I completed my Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications with Waterhoppers during my visit to Rhodes. It was perfect for me. My instructors Clement and Chris, were amazing, thorough, and confidence inspiring. I felt secure in learning my skills in a serious but enjoyable way. This company takes their job of teaching, inspiring and enjoying a love of the ocean very seriously. My adult daughter did a “Try Scuba Dive”, and loved it. My dives were all for my certification, therefore not for “fun”. But the water was beautiful, the sealife plentiful, and I saw many wonderous underwater worlds. I highly recommend Waterhoppers for any of their offered underwater adventures!

Excellent communication prior to the dive I originally booked to dive on a trip in 2023 but the forest fires resulted in the holiday being cancelled. Waterhoppers and especially Marion were very understanding and helpful so really pleased I had the opportunity to come back in Aug 2025. Quick and helpful refresher as I’d not dived since 2018. The dives themselves were a little underwhelming ( I’ve been fortunate to dive in some amazing site around the world). The boat was very busy with mainly snorkelers but my dive master was good even remaining patient with a young inexperienced diver in the team. Would highly recommend Waterhoppers to anyone looking to dive in Rhodes

Met the dive team at the hotel pool and arranged to go on a snorkel trip in the bay near their dive center. Unfortunately my wife and I are both PADI certified but due to a hole in the heart my wife is unable to dive at the moment so we took our son snorkelling for his first time…great dive center, lovely staff and well organised.

Had a fantastic day on the water with dive school The Waterhoppers. My son went diving for the first time and was very well guided by highly skilled instructors — because safety comes first. On top of that, the atmosphere was excellent. All in all, a great day!" Absolutely to be recommended.

We went diving on two diffrent days. First day in Kalithea and day 2 in Ladiko. We had the same dive guide (Martin) on both days. Becides guiding us he help us to become much better divers. Waterhoppers are very professional and will take care of you.

10/10 ,myself and my wife and daughter tried it,l would not be the best in the water(barely swim )and they made me feel extremely comfortable ,there was some one with me the whole time in the water,my wife has said we are doing it next year again she enjoyed it so much as did my daughter who is 17 she got certified as a diver ,have to say could not find a fault with anything during the day ,me personally l should have tried a bit of snorkeling first so as to relax a bit but that is just a personnel thing ,initally l got the days mixed up and they were fantastic in waiting for us and when my daughter completed her second day they clapped her off the boat 10/10

The diving was amazing. The visibility at Rhodes was phenomenal. Peter the dive instructor was exceptional. Check-in was seamless and without difficulty. All equipment was up to date and working.

We had two great dives yesterday with Waterhoppers and Martin at Ladiko. 66 minutes, 29m. 67 minutes, 22 m. About 30 m visibility. Wall dive. Small cavern. Really nice!

I went on a trip with waterhoppers for 2 dives in Ladiko on the 14th of August 2025, with Martin as our instructor. I had an absolutely amazing trip, and Martin was a fantastic instructor. He made us feel really safe and secure on our dives, and he clearly had full control over the site and us divers. I also dived with waterhoppers 2 years ago, where I also had a great experience with them. I would absolutely recommend this diving company to anyone seeking to dive in the waters around Rhodes.

Water hoppers/in-depth is a brilliant dive school with lots of brilliant instructors who offer fantastic Intel in to the dive sites and knowledge of overall diving and are always kind, constructive and wiling to help with anything. Some brilliant instructors including Anna, Kevin, Christian, Alana and Clem. Me and my brother completed both our PADI open water and advanced open water courses here and we found it to be a fantastic and beautiful place to learn and imbed many diving skills whilst experiencing lots of breath taking dive sites. Water hoppers gave such a brilliant experience of diving and I can’t recommend this centre enough!! 😁

My son and I did 3 dives in the last couple of weeks, our first time scuba diving, and it was amazing. The scuba team are great, very friendly, and they well explained all procedures. We had a lot of them keeping an eye on us when we dive for precaution. The beach where we done the scuba is so beautiful For sure, this experience was the highlight of our holidays Highly recommend

My son did the PADI Bubblemaker dive today with Waterhoppers in Rhodes and it was such a wonderful experience. He was very nervous at first and didn’t do the first dive, but after some snorkelling to build his confidence, he tried the second dive and absolutely loved it! The whole team were incredible, so kind, patient, and encouraging. A special thank you to Sharon and Claudia, without their support, I don’t think he would have had the confidence to give it a go. Marian sold the trip to us at our hotel and also drove us to the port on the day. She was fantastic. So friendly, knowledgeable, and amazing with my son, even helping him with his confidence before we got on the boat. The trip itself was brilliantly organised, professional, and run with genuine care for all guests. A big shout-out to Sharon, Paul, Marian, Claudia, Georgia, and the rest of the crew on board on 8/8/25 – you made the day so special for us. I would 100% recommend Waterhoppers to anyone visiting Rhodes, they are a truly outstanding dive centre!

We have just had the best day. Our group is mum (50) and two teens (14 and 18). We’ve never dived and were unsure. The crew were highly professional, caring, attentive, fun and welcoming. Absolutely do this trip! My youngest says it’s the best day of her life! Just wonderful.

It was very cool, as a beginner we were explained everything in detail about safety. Underwater instructors protected us. The staff is very friendly. Cold drinks and snacks are always available. Free time for swimming whenever you want. When you visit the island of Rhodes, be sure to contact The Waterhoppers !!!

Thank you so much to all the team for an amazing time. We came 6+ years ago for my first dive and after many more dives decided to come back. Me, my brother and my dad all ended up getting our open water licences! I want to give a special thanks to Paul and Mike for helping to accommodate my brothers needs so well (and persuading him to carry on with the license), as well as Sam, Lefty, Claudia, Gustavo and of course Paul again for the best 2 days of diving I think I’ve ever had. I hope to come back in another 6+ years and someday be part of the team or start my own dive school. I would highly, highly recommend the water hoppers to anybody, whether it’s your first dive or your hundredth. Throughout my different dives I’ve done around the Mediterranean I have always ranked them the highest and will continue to, there is really no one better in my eyes.

I had an excellent day with waterhoppers, diving off Kalithea Bay. Really safety focussed and Paul who led the two dives was a real proffessional. (I have PADI open water) The afternoon dive was especially good, in and around Kalithea Springs, some really spectacular scenery and Plenty of Tiger fish, an Octopus, a moray eel, all good stuff.
