Anastasios (forgive me if I spelled your name incorrectly) was a terrific guide and host. He accomodated are every wish. The side trip he made for us to Gianni's ceramic plant was great. We walked away with a souvenir we will always treasure. The only think he couldn't influence was the rain storm in Lindos.

Itinerary
We will start our excursion with a drive around the walls of the Old Town of Rhodes where you can take photos from outside the most important Gates. The biggest inhabited medieval town in Europe. It was built in 1300s from the knights of the order of St. John. The Medieval Town of Rhodes is inscribed in the World Heritage Sites List of UNESCO. A) Due to a new traffic regulation, no vehicles are allowed inside the Old Town—only pedestrians. We can end the tour at one of the Old Town gates, allowing you to explore on your own and walk back to the ship. The walk from the Medieval City to the Cruise Port is an easy 5-minute stroll. This way, you save time and money, as you won’t have to pay for the driver’s waiting time. B) No worries—our knowledgeable drivers can guide you on how to walk through the Old Town back to the ship. Just ask your driver!
Mandraki port is situated in the new part of the town where you will see some very impressive monumental buildings built by the Italians. Here at the harbour entrance is believed that once stood the great statue of the Colossus of Rhodes – one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. We will stop for pictures of the area and you will be able also to enter and see the Church of the Annunciation which is the most famous church in Rhodes Town. Located north of Mandraki, the old port of the town, this church was constructed in the 1920s, during the Italian occupation of the island. The Church of the Annunciation celebrated on March 25th with a large religious festival.
One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Colossus of Rhodes was a gigantic statue of the god Helios. Erected by the sculptor Chares of Lindos, it was under construction from 292 BC till 280 BC and was considered as the tallest building of its time, standing at 30 feet. Built in memory of the defeat of the Roman Army, which was trying to take control of Rhodes, this giant statue represented a man holding a bow on one hand and a torch of light on the other. The statue of Colossus was put in the port, with its two feet standing on the edges of the entrance. The ships would pass under him. But in an area prone to earthquakes, the inevitable soon happened. In 226 BC, only 56 years after its construction, an earthquake hit Rhodes and the statue fell down. Snapping at the knees, the statue fell onto the land and broke in giant pieces. A sad end for what must have been a majestic work of art.
Now we will continue through the city and see more of the great Italian architecture. We will stop for pictures also at the Northern tip of the island where the Mediterranean and the Aegean seas meet each other. Then we will drive to Monthe Smith Hill where you can enjoy exceptional panoramic views of the city and the seashore, and also visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the impressive open-air ancient Stadium and the Amphitheatre.
Upon request, during your tour, you can also have a stop at a pottery factory. You will be able to see how beautiful ceramics are made. Rhodes has a long history of pottery going back many centuries at least to the time of the ancient cities. Replicas of designs produced in those times are still been manufactured today together with new modern designs in a younger generation.
Little before we reach the beautiful village of Lindos we will stop at a place for a panoramic view of the village together with its Acropolis on the top. Before the village we will also visit the picturesque St. Paul’s Bay. It is claimed that St Paul landed here in the year 51 AD to preach Christianity to the Rhodians. There is a small church built there after his name. We will make a stop for pictures to capture this stunning view.
You will have at least one hour stay to explore the village and to visit its famous Acropolis. The Acropolis in Lindos is the second most popular Acropolis in Greece after the Parthenon in Athens.
On the way back, the last 14 km / 8 miles of our route follow the coastal road of Faliraki and Kallithea. Faliraki is open only during the summer season and is designed solely to offer visitors an unforgettable vacation. Its beaches are mostly sandy, with crystal-clear waters as smooth as glass.
We head back to Rhodes Town, passing through Kallithea, a stunning natural landscape where the movie Escape to Athena, starring Telly Savalas and Roger Moore, was filmed. Additionally, some scenes from The Guns of Navarone were shot here as well. Upon returning to Rhodes Old Town, you can enjoy independent exploration or head back to the ship (or your hotel). The Medieval City is just a 5 minute flat walk from the cruise port.

This was a wonderful tour! We learned so much about Rhodes and Lindos from our guide. He was so knowledgeable and helped us get some great photos. We were able to take things at our pace, and we still saw so much. We really enjoyed the stop at the pottery shop, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch in Lindos. Overall, a fantastic, well-paced tour. We all enjoyed it very much!
Our guide was a true local native providing the best photo opportunities throughout our day. His first hand historical knowledge gave us the best insights to the island culture and history. His recommended lunch spot was a 5 star authentic greek meal ~ big hit with our group.
Panos was our driver and he was awesome! Happy to share information about his island and he made sure we saw everything we wanted to. He even took us to a local olive oil farm and that was amazing! Highly recommend!
This was a great opportunity to visit most of the island and learn about it traveling in comfort.;our driver was very professional, knowledgeable and accommodating.; We drove smoothly around the island and we enjoyed every minute!
Rhoades and lindos are very .much worth visiting, the scenery , the clear beautiful aqua sea , the acropolis in lindos was amazing, it is a bit of a hike up the monument but worth it , the view at the top brilliant.
Amazing service, good value and friendly drivers
We did a private tour with Theo. He was a friendly and knowledgeable host and guide. He walked with us to different areas, made sure we had coffee, water, and even a meal. If you do a tour of Rhodes, having your own driver is the way to go, and Theo is great.
Our driver and guide was very professional on time and gave us great history about the island and the old city
It was informative and interesting. He revised the itinerary to fit our questions and interests. We appreciated him.
Great overview of Rhodes! Our driver Yannis was terrific…decades of touring experience and loves his island and is passionate about sharing the history and culture. Wonderful day !
Our driver/guide was Demetrius and he did an incredible job of getting us to unique and beautiful settings! We took a couple of short side trips that were customized to our needs and Demetrius was quick to adapt and informative the way. The trip down to Lindo was beautiful and Demetrius gave us adequate time to tour the town and Acropolis. The stop at the ceramic pottery store was an extra special treat. Meeting the Potter and seeing his incredible work, helped to make the day most special. When we return to Rhodes, we will be certain to ask for Demetrius again! The experience was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommended!
We loved Rhodes, from the amazing walled medieval Rhodes to the Acropolis of Lindos. We had a nice stop at a Traditional ceramic stop where Giannis showed us is lovely creations. The hike up to the Acropolis was well with it. Wish we would have had a little more time in Lindos city below..
Viator sold an excursion knowing that Lindos was almost completely shut down as it is the off season. only a few shops and no restaurants were open. Paid extra for time for lunch but there was no where to eat. Viator would not issue any refunds. Tour guide should have also known about the situation when he dropped us off in a closed town Very disappointing.
Dimitris is a tremendous guide with a wealth of information, current and historical. He took us to numerous sites and vistas and was extremely flexible about stops. He was able to fill the tour despite my husband's recent injury which limited the distance he could walk.
We had a very good experience. Our tour guide cum driver, Anastasios was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our experience in Rhodes.
A great way to see the sites of Rhodes. Our driver was skilled and very knowledgeable about his home Island. Thank you for a wonderful tour.
Yanis was a terrific guide. He was flexible to accommodate our every request. He was knowledgeable on every area that we visited and he made great suggestions to ensure we didn’t miss a thing. Yanis was so friendly and kind that we felt totally relaxed with him.
Iannis was friendly, attentive and worked hard to make our day special. He asked about our interests and factored them in to his recommendations. We recommend him highly!
Anastasios drove us on our ‘magical’ excursion of Rhodes. His historical and current knowledge of Rhodes was very informative. The stunning coastal views and visit to Lindos Village and the Acropolis were perfection. We ended our day at his suggested wine bar/restaurant - perfection. Thank you.
Our driver Anastasios was exceptional. His knowledge of historical and current Greece was highly informative. He tailored the day to our private requirements and was most helpful in sourcing an excellent dinner venue for later that evening
Tasos our guide did an excellent job. Knowledgeable about the local area as he is a native. Gave us time to explore the area and customized the tour for our family of four. Would recommend if visiting the area.
We had a great time on our tour, and our tour guide was very helpful and informative. We especially enjoyed spending time in the old town section of Rhodes.
Our Tour of Rhodes and Lindos was excellent and far exceeded our expectation. The castle at Lindos has amazing views. Plan to have lunch there.
Husband and I did this tour as part of our Greek island cruise. Very knowledge tour guide, good English, clean comfortable VW Passat, had a very enjoyable day, and loved exploring Lindos - highly recommended
We had such great fun with Yanis. He got us to Lindos before the crowd and it made the entire day more enjoyable with not having to wait in lines for hours.
Lovely day. Great driver, Dimitrios took good care of us. Lindos was charming. Very crowded because it was Sunday. Beautiful scenery.
Outstanding tour, highly recommended. Vehicle was very comfortable and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
Micheal was our guide for the day and he may the tour very enjoyable. We visited several sites in Rhodes and shopped and had lunch in Lindos.
Our guide was amazing and we were able to enjoy the island at our own pace. He was knowledeable and friendly.
This is the only way to see Rhodes and lindos! Yiannis was wonderful and we had the BEST day! I would highly recommend this tour and specifically this guide/driver. We saw so much!
Being on the island of Rhodes was amazing. Our driver and guide, Panos, was fantastic (and funny). He provided history but also his personal insights. Seeing where St Paul preached was amazing and climbing the acropolis was sweaty but so worth it. The very best part was having lunch in a small town that Panos recommended. It was right on a small beach that wasn’t crowded at all. He let us know traditional food that he would recommend we try. The symi shrimp was so good that we had to order a second plate (thanks to our teen son)! Also, 2 of us have Celiac Disease and had to eat gluten free. The restaurant knew all about Celiac and could alter just about anything for us. Panos also asked if we would want to stop at an olive oil business and he let us know in advance he was friends of the family. I was impressed with that. Of course I had to stop and next thing you know, I’m tasting amazing olive oils and had a case (or 2 possibly) shipped home. We also stopped at a pottery shop by Giannis and had a fun time looking at everything he had made. Panos always asked if we wanted to stop or not. That was great for the 4 of us (husband and 2 teen sons) Would highly recommend this tour and Panos.
We loved our guide Alex and very much enjoyed our day! He answered all our questions and made a great recommendation for lunch.
Amazing tour!! Tasos took us to some of the most beautiful parts of Rhodes as well as Lindos. He also took us to an amazing beachside cafe for lunch. He was so very nice and knowledgeable and very accommodating to us. If you go to Rhodes this is the tour to take!!!
Our driver was fantastic. He was very informative and took us for lunch to a fabulous restaurant. It was one of the best meals we had in Greece! I would highly recommend this experience! Lindos was awesome!
Excellent use of time and money. We were on a cruise ship stopping at Rhodes for just one day. By hiring a car and driver, we covered so much more than we would have experienced in a bus tour, and with a level of comfort and personal attention that no bus tour could provide. Tasso was terrific: excellent English, very well informed about everything in Rhodes and Lindos, and very entertaining. He took the time to teach me how to say in Greek, "I would like two ice creams, please," and "Thank you." Rhodes is fascinating: The Lindos fortress and Rhodes old city Medieval streets and fortress are mindboggling. Highly recommend.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and flexible. Also gave us water and a nice treat. He made a fun trip.
Saw some really interesting and beautiful sights… Tasos was great, a willing and good photographer and took us some places we never would have found on our own.only negative was prices at ceramic factory if you were buying a big piece, great, but little dishes and the like were 3 times more than at a local souvenir shop..
The tour was really cool, our guide take us to beautiful places, explain some of the history. And made our day very nice and peaceful Also he waited us very kind outside of lindos for 3 hours. And take us to a cat house, that was amazing
Tassos was awesome with a wrath of knowledge and heat patience for all of our questions. He took us places and then let us explore instead of rushing us from place to place. Great experience.
We did two trips with Tasos. One from a Rhodes old town back to our hotel and the other an excursion to Lindos. Tasos was fantastic! He was always on time and the communications with him were excellent. Very clean, air conditioned luxury Mercedes vehicle. Would highly recommend Tasos and his team if you require a taxi service during your holiday in Rhodes.
They are super kind ! Thank you for the comfortable and clean ride with the small presents :) I recommend them with the full of my heart and if we will go back to Rhodes we use their service again!
We had a wonderful tour in Rhodes and Lindos! Dimitris was a great driver and guide. He was very sweet and professional, and he made sure we saw all of the highlights of this beautiful Greek island. We loved the Old Town and Grand Master Palace in Rhodes, the gorgeous Anthony Quinn Bay, and Lindos village with its ancient acropolis. We highly recommend YourTaxiRhodes!
Excellent tour, worth the 40 minute drive to get to Lindos. A magical little town topped off with the acropolis on top. Then a good walk through the old city of Rhodes which is really spectacular. Gianis our driver and guide was basic for a special day. He took us to eat at a good Greek restaurant with local people. Great choice of this tour, recommended 100%
Beautiful Rhodes beautiful sea really enjoyable, both as a 'beach' holiday, and for excursions of cultural value
Beautiful discovery, a great time to walk the alleys and white houses, its beach and climb to the acropolis. Have a drink and lunch a roof top
