Volcano Eruption Site Hike & Reykjanes Tour From Reykjavik

Great trip out. Really interesting. The hike part had a couple of tough moments, but only because I have a bad knee, so worth the climb up for the lava field though. Guide was excellent, really kind and helpful, very knowledgeable.

Vjeran was an amazing guide from start to finish. His in-depth explanations of the history and geology of the peninsula truly enhanced the experience; it made me appreciate the significance of what I was seeing at each stop. Alongside being knowledgeable, he was also funny and genuinely cared about everyone having a good time. 10/10 would recommend.

Our guide Vjeran is very passionate and knowledgeable. He told us a lot of info about the volcano and lave fields. He also takes good photos for everyone. Though I wish the hike could be longer, but maybe it was shortened because of the weather.

Vjeran put a lot of effort into obtaining his knowledge and sharing, and showing, it in fun ways. I strongly recommend going on the guided Reykjanes Hike with him as an introduction to the island.

Journey is amazing but the time of hiking in volcanoes and lava is a little bit short.

Petur was my guide when I went- nice guy, made sure we had a good time and saw many sites. For the hike you need a moderate fitness level and good mobility- to climb the elevation and also walk on the uneven ground.

The wheather was brutal, but still had the best of time. VJeran was amazing, super knowledgeable and friendly. Thought the whole tour was pretty incredible, and an unforgettable experience!

I loved this excursion so much! Our tour guide Tobey was excellent and took great care of us! I loved hiking up and down a volcano eruption site, learning about the geology and its history. I also loved visiting the “bridge between two continents”. Some things I wished I had done beforehand were to get snacks and sandwiches for the day. We stopped at a bakery inside a mall before the trip began. I wished there were other stores that were open that had more options. I also wished I brought appropriate hiking boots; lesson learned for next times! Overall an incredible experience!

Vjeran was our guide and he gave us an experience of a lifetime! As with Iceland, we had lots of wind and rain coming down but vjeran made it work and showed us all the sides of Iceland. It was unforgettable and I’ll always remember the rain and wind lashing down.

5 stars! We had extremely strong wind and heavy rain today with tough weather conditions, but our guide and driver Vjeran provided fantastic service throughout the trip. He has profound knowledge of volcanoes and gave us detailed explanations about volcanic geology, landforms and history. Professional and patient. Even with wild wind and rain, this turned out to be an unforgettable volcano tour. Highly recommend!

Really good experience in a bad weather day!

Our guide Vjeran had excellent local knowledge which was evident in the additional photo stops he made and the commentary he gave us along the way. He made it clear at the start of the day what the plan was going to be for lunch and toilet breaks during the day. On the volcano hike Vjeran was able to explain the sequence of eruptions that had led to the lava flow we were looking at. He also knew all the best photo angles and was good at taking photos for us! We were blessed with great weather which made the hike very worthwhile for the view. Compared to the other tours we had been on during our stay, this one had a bit less driving and the pace felt a bit more relaxed, which was welcome at the end of the trip.

A great day tour from Reykjavik, I'd reccomend to do at the beginning of your time in Iceland as you get to see some of the newest lava in the country, a great contrast with the landscape elsewhere. Along with the lava, you also get to see impressive hot springs and the stunning coast where the black rocks meet the sea making for some amazing views. We stopped for lunch at a local cafe with tasty local caught cod along with a lot of other options. Our guide Vjeran was very informative and entertaining. He kept the vibe casual and fun, while giving us a lot of interesting information and keeping us on a good schedule so we where back in good time for dinner.

We had an amazing guode Vjeran, rrally very skill,ed, pleasant and taking care. He made our day! You are lucky, if you have a possibility to explore Iceland with him.

The tour was incredible. Our guide, Vjeran, was awesome. He was like a funny Indiana Jones. The views along the way were great! Especially visiting the last known site of the extinct great auk meant a lot to me!

Super easy to get picked up and dropped off. Our guide Vjeran was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and a great driver and photographer too. Managed to see all the sites and even an extra not listed on the website listing. Would recommend, and cannot thank Vjeran enough.

It was an extraordinary experience. The guide was very friendly and explained everything to us. The walk was wonderful, and the restaurant recommendation for fish and chips was spectacular! An experience I would 100% recommend.

Wonderful day trip. Our guide Vjeran was very knowledgeable and relayed the history about volcanic activity in the region and showed us interesting sites. A highlight was a drive through volcanic sites which were spectacular and a lovely viewpoint to stop for photos. Vjeran was very friendly, enthusiastic and looked after all the guests. Get to see alot related to area and volcanic activity of area. Good excursion if you like doing some hiking while sightseeing and looking around ( need to be in shape) vs just sitting alot on a bus all day and just a bunch of brief walks. Only issue we had was weather related and not tour fault. Had to cut 4 mile hike short when we alll got to top of ridge to look down at lava flows and found the wind increased to 50+mph (good breeze was forecast but not that til evening) that was nonconducive to continuing. Our great guide Peter safely guided us off the ridge, we all had bonded in the struggle, and continued on driving elsewhere seeing the sights. Small bus with just 16 of us which is also very nice as you get to know your bus mates. Got to see where all 3 years of flows happened and the damage to roads and one town (now semiabandoned). Peter said he never had experienced that level of wind before so at most may experience some wind if you book this and not 50+mph

We did the volcano hike. Peter was super guide, relaxed, fun and professional! We had super heavy wind today but that did not bother the experience. I also liked a lot that we visited some extra locations and heard amazing stories of Iceland as well as Peters own advwntures. Thanks!!

The sights were fabulous and we saw everything we were told we would see. The pickup was delayed slightly because of a cancellation of another tour which I feel caused us to be a little rushed to get back on the bus during our designated site stops but I believe the employees truly tried to do the best that they could to provide us with a pleasant experience.

This was supposed to be four hour hike on a nine hour excursion. Instead it was a two hour hike on an eleven hour excursion. This is not what I would have chosen. Also it was combined with another tour that took guests to the Blue Lagoon which meant we had to waste time shuttling guests back and forth in the middle of our day. Guide said this is always a two hour hike on an eleven hour day so there is a disconnect between the tour company and the description with Viator.

Vjeran is amazing. He was so informative as a guide but better than that his attitude is positive, fun and ensures everyone is enjoying themselves His passion for the landscape and people shows. A Veritable VIP day.

Our volcano eruption site hike was an incredible experience! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the hike both fun and engaging. The views were absolutely unbelievable—beautiful landscapes and a truly unique perspective of Iceland. It was a wonderful and memorable hike, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland!

This was my favorite tour from all the ones I did in Iceland. The lava fields are so cool, impressive landscape, a very nice hike.
